Hezbollah slams new UN bid to disarm it

Hezbollah has taken a swipe at a recent UN briefing on the outdated Resolution 1559, describing the move as part of a hostile effort against the Lebanese resistance movement.

The reaction came after the UN’s Special Representative for the Implementation of Resolution 1559, Terje Roed-Larsen, delivered a report on the document before the Security Council in a closed door session on Friday, a Press TV correspondent reported.

Resolution 1559 was adopted by the Security Council in 2004, months before the assassination of former Lebanese premier Rafiq Hariri. It was co-sponsored by the US and France under Presidents George W. Bush and Jack Chirac during a period of intense animosity between the West and Syria.

In addition to demanding the disarmament of Hezbollah, the resolution also called for demarcating the border between Syria and Lebanon and the withdrawal of Syrian troops from Lebanon, which was carried out early in 2005.

The Lebanese resistance movement of Hezbollah slammed the briefing as unjust and biased, describing Roed-Larsen as an “international official servant in the Zionist media system that reflects the full participation of hostility towards the Resistance, Lebanon, Arabs and all just causes in the world.”

“The Secretary General remains convinced that the disarmament of the armed groups in Lebanon, in particular Hezbollah, can best be achieved by a Lebanese-led political process,” UN spokesman Farhan Haq said.

Roed-Larsen has delivered more than a dozen such reports to the Security Council, although 1559 was rendered obsolete by Resolution 1701, which was drafted with the intent to resolve the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict, triggered by a major Israeli attack against the Lebanese soil with the announced objective of taking out the Hezbollah resistance.

Roed-Larson’s efforts to deliver briefings on an outdated resolution have raised serious questions among observers.

“The Security Council members want him to remain. The Secretary General wants him to remain. The major player, the United States, wants of course this 1559 to stay on in order to bring pressure on the resistance of Lebanon. They want to disarm the Hezbollah and they want pressure so they use these occasions in order to force such disarmaments,” Nizar Abboud of Lebanese daily al-Akhbar said.

Abboud adds that the recent events across the Arab world make Roed-Larsen’s work as the special envoy for Lebanon even more redundant.

Roed-Larsen has also labeled Lebanon as a dangerous place, where he reportedly does not visit — which brings into question the sources of the information comprising his biannual reports to the Security Council.

Gestapo killed 1,335 Palestinian kids’

A recent UN report confirms that at least 1,300 Palestinian children have been killed by Gestapo’s forces since the outset of the al-Aqsa uprising in 2000.

The United Nations office for the High Commissioner for Human Rights said in a report that 1,335 Palestinian children were shot dead as a result of Israeli air and ground attacks or indiscriminate gun fire by IsraHell soldiers, a Press TV correspondent reported on Saturday.

“The international community should offer protection for Palestinian children so that they can have a better social and educational environment,” said Amjad Shawa, Coordinator of Palestinian NGO Network.

According to the Palestinian ministry of health, 15 children have been killed in Gaza alone since the beginning of 2011 — three of them while playing in front of their house.

“The children were just playing out in the street like the way they always did and then all of a sudden rockets were fired towards them. They were killed just because they were playing,” the victims’ uncle Yaser Alhelou said.

In 2006, IsraHell artillery fire hit the Athamna family house in northern Gaza, killing 16 family members, including seven children.

Human rights groups have also condemned IsraHell policies towards Palestinian children.

According to UNICEF, IsraHell policies have put the lives of more than 1.9 million Palestinian children in danger.

They also face the constant threat of death, injury, displacement, detention, psychological distress and low educational attainment.

On Tuesday, three children were injured by a piece of unexploded IsraHell ordnance that went off in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Gaza is currently riddled with unexploded ordnance, left over from IsraHell’s war on the blockaded coastal enclave at the turn of 2009.

Nuclear whistle-blower Vanunu requests revocation of citizenship

Mordechai Vanunu sends letter to Interior Minister Eli Yishai asking for his citizenship to be stripped based on new Citizenship Revocation Law.

Nuclear whistle-blower Mordechai Vanunu has requested the revocation of his Israeli citizenship in a letter written to Interior Minister Eli Yishai that was released to the media on Saturday.

Vanunu spent 18 years in prison for revealing state nuclear secrets to London-based newspaper, The Sunday Times, in 1986. He made his request in light of a new Citizenship Revocation Law, passed by the Knesset on March 28, 2011.  According to this law, those convicted of treason lose their right to Israeli citizenship.

“After the treatment and ‘care’ which I got from this country and its citizens, I cannot feel myself a wanted citizen here,” the letter says. “I have no interest in Israeli citizenship, I don’t want to go on living here.”

Vanunu goes on to say that he still feels “imprisoned” and like “a prisoner of war and a hostage, held by the state and the government.” He states that, “I wish to exercise my right to the Freedom of Conscience and the Freedom of Choice, by choosing not to be a citizen of Israel.”

Vanunu was released from Ashkelon prison after serving an 18-year term in 2004, under what his letter describes as ” severe restrictions.” Since then he has resided in Israel. He was imprisoned for 10 weeks in 2010 for breaking the conditions of his parole.

Oh, C’mon! U.S. identified bin Laden’s body by ‘measuring’ him against a Navy SEAL

Bin Laden was known to be exceptionally tall, raising the suspicions of intelligence officials; however, the imagery was never good enough to make out his face.

Despite the United States’ superior military and reconnaissance prowess, when it came to verifying the identity of bin Laden’s body, some of the methods used were decidedly old-fashioned.

According to the Washington Post, one of the ways that the Americans identified that they had indeed nabbed the al-Qaida mastermind by “measuring” him in comparison to that of a 6-foot-tall Navy SEAL.

Intelligence agencies had been tracking the Abbottabad compound where bin Laden was hiding after a tip-off in August, Bob Woodward reported in the Post, noting that a tall man would circle the mansion’s courtyard daily, but never left.

American analysts reportedly had dubbed bin Laden “the pacer”. Bin Laden was known to be exceptionally tall, raising the suspicions of intelligence officials; however, the imagery was never good enough to make out his face.

U.S. President Barack Obama, who witnessed the entire mission that led to the killing of the al-Qaida leader who had evaded capture for almost a decade, was informed that a Navy SEAL lay down next to bin Laden’s body to ascertain his height. Bin Laden’s body was slightly longer than the SEAL’s, Woodward reported.

Upon learning of how bin Laden was measured, the U.S. president turned to his advisers and reportedly asked, “We donated a $60 million helicopter to this operation. Could we not afford to buy a tape measure?”

The trail to the U.S. mission that killed the al-Qaida leader began with a phone call last year to a man known as the main courier to bin Laden. The CIA was able to then trace the call, the Washington Post reported, leading them to the compound.

It started, Woodward said, when Abu Ahmed al-Kuwaiti, the code name used by U.S. intelligence to identify bin Laden’s main courier, took what appeared to be an innocuous call from an old friend.

The friend then asked Kuwaiti how he was doing, to which the trusted courier responded, “I’m back with the people I was with before”, the Washington Post said.

This response was reportedly extremely meaningful, implying that Kuwaiti had returned to bin Laden’s inner circle. Woodward claimed this is what started U.S. intelligence on bin Laden’s scent, culminating in his killing.

Racist Democratic senators to Obama: Cut aid to Palestinians

WASHINGTON – Obama pressured by own party members: Following the recent Hamas-Fatah unity deal, 29 Democratic senators sent a letter to President Barack Obama Friday, urging him to end American aid to the Palestinian Authority should Hamas join the PA government.

Now, along with Republican senators endorsing the move, there is a clear majority in support of cutting the massive aid offered by the Administration to the Palestinians.

Head of Hamas politburo says in Wall Street Journal interview that nature of struggle against Israel to be determined by Palestinian consensus. Fatah official: Hamas willing to adopt nonviolent resistance; Israeli official: We don’t buy it

The letter, initiated by Senators Robert Menendez from New Jersey and Bob Casey from Pennsylvania, has been signed by senior Senators, including Carl Levin, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Armed Services, and Daniel Inouye, who heads the Senate’s Appropriations Committee.

In their letter to President Obama, the Democratic senators write that “the decision of Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas to form a unity government with Hamas – a designated terrorist group – threatens to derail the Middle East peace effort.”

The US Administration has earmarked $550 million to the PA for 2011.

In their letter, the senators also remind Obama that Hamas condemned the recent killing of arch-terrorist Osama bin Laden and note that “this is emblematic of Hamas’ policy.”

The United States should stand by its refusal to work with any Palestinian government that includes Hamas,” the letter says.

Queens Toddler Dies After Routine Circumcision

Queens Toddler Dies After Routine Circumcision

A Queens toddler who went into Beth Israel Hospital for a routine circumcision died Tuesday.

Ed note–we are constantly told by war-mongering Jewish loudmouths how the Muslims want to circumcise little girls, but who say NOTHING about the sexual mutilation that takes place as a result of Jewish circumcision of little boys. Nor do we hear about the horrid practice of these little circumcized boys having oral sex being perfomed upon them by the rabbi officiating at the ceremony and how some of these chlidren have died as a result of the infections they have received as a result.

As far as the following story goes, one of the questions that must be asked is whether this little boy with an Arabic sounding name was deliberately killed by whoever was performing the ceremony. Crazy, I know, but in this day and age with Jewish hatred of Arabs (and Gentiles in general) in full swing, anything is possible.

A Queens toddler died on the operating table this week after a routine circumcision — a tragedy his family thinks was the result of the wrong analgesic.

Hospital officials say it ”could take weeks” to get results of an autopsy for the 2-year-old boy, Jamaal Coleson Jr.

A spokesman from the medical examiner’s office told NBC New York that an initial autopsy was inconclusive and that the baby’s remains are “pending further testing,” which could take weeks. But Coleson’s family wants answers sooner.

“I want to know what happened,” the boy’s uncle, Jabbar Coleson, 23, told the New York Post from his hometown of Atlanta. “He was so sweet and energetic and so happy, a very happy child. I am very upset and I am glad I am a couple of hundred miles away. I have time to calm down and say my prayers.”

Coleson Jr. died on Tuesday, just 10 hours after what the boy’s uncle called a routine procedure at Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan.

Jabbar Coleson told the paper that his nephew was supposed to receive a local analgesic but instead received a general. The child “woke up and laughed and called for his mother and then went critical.” He was declared dead later that night at 8:35 p.m.

In a statement, the hospital said it reported the case as an “unexpected death” to the state Department of Health, and will conduct an internal review.

“This is a devastating event for his family as well as for the staff at Beth Israel who tried to save his life,” the statement read.

Barak, Steinitz condemn Dagan remarks in Iran

Foreign, Finance ministers criticize ex-Mossad chief’s remarks on Iran as ‘unnecessary,’ ‘foolish’

Both the foreign minister and the finance minister came out Sunday against former Mossad Chief Meir Dagan’s statements on the consequences of a possible attack on Iran in which he said that “attacking Iran is a foolish idea without any advantage whatsoever.”

Ahead of Sunday’s government meeting Minister Yuval Steinitz said “Dagan was a fantastic Mossad chief and it is a shame that he made such an unnecessary statement.”

Ex-Mossad chief: Iran strike a dumb idea

Military strike on Iran may prompt regional war, missile attacks on Israel, former Mossad Director Meir Dagan says; Iranian problem should be resolved by international community, he says

On a visit to the Gaza vicinity Defense Minister Ehud Barak also addressed Dagan’s remarks and said that he believes that the former Mossad chief should not have shared his personal thoughts with everyone.

“Meir Dagan is a man of merit but with all due caution, I don’t think his statement was correct. These are decisions that in their nature belong in the political echelons.

Imams kicked off US domestic flights over security fears

by crescentandcross

THREE imams including a US-born Muslim bound for a conference on Islamophobia were kicked off US domestic flights out of security fears.

Two imams boarded a flight from Memphis, Tennessee to Charlotte, North Carolina on Friday only to have it return to the terminal so they could be put through “additional screening”, said a spokesman for Atlantic South Airlines (ASA), the Delta Connection airline operating the flight.

“We take security and safety very seriously, and the event is currently under investigation,” said spokesman Jarek Beem, adding that the men were put on the next available flight.

ASA is investigating the incident, “and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused”, Mr Beem said.

Meanwhile, US-born imam Al-Amin Abdul-Latif of Long Island was barred from boarding an American Airlines flight from New York to Charlotte late on Friday and told to return to LaGuardia airport for a morning flight on Saturday, only to be refused boarding again, without explanation, his son said.

..”This morning we get to the airline, and the ticket agent told my father that the airline does not want him to fly. Those were her exact words,” Abu Bakr Abdul-Latif said.

“There was nothing he could do,” said the son, who travelled on to the Charlotte conference without his father.

Masudur Rahman, a permanent US resident from India and former Memphis imam who teaches Arabic at the University of Memphis, said he and another cleric, a US permanent resident from Egypt and dressed in a shoulder-to-ankle Islamic robe, were pulled off ASA flight 5452 and cleared through new security checks.

“But when we went to re-enter the plane, the Delta supervisor said ‘Sorry, the pilot is not allowing you to enter,’” Mr Rahman said.

Delta negotiated at length with the pilot, noted Mr Rahman, who said he was told that “some passengers might be uncomfortable” with their presence on the plane.

“I think they were obviously upset to the extent that they were inconvenienced, but, you know, they understand what’s going on in the world and particularly in the heightened sensitivities after the death of Osama bin Laden,” Ibrahim Hooper of the Council on American-Islamic Relations told CNN.

The imams were heading to the North American Imams Federation conference entitled “Islamophobia: Diagnosis and Treatment”.

Dozens Wounded By IsraHellArmy in Silwan

by Saed Bannoura

Palestinian medical sources in occupied East Jerusalem reported Friday that dozens of residents were injured after Israeli soldiers and policemen attacked a protest in Silwan, in occupied East Jerusalem. Two homes caught fire after soldiers fired teargas bombs into them.

Jawad Siyam, head of the Wadi Hilwa Information center, reported that the protest started following Friday Prayers, near the protest tent in Silwan.

The tent was installed months ago to protest Israeli illegal home demolition policy and settlers’ takeover of Palestinian homes.

Local youth placed trash cans in the streets, and burnt tires to prevent the army and the police from reaching them.

Some youth also hurled stones at settlers’ vehicles causing damage to the front windshield of one of the vehicles.

Clashes also took place in Al Ein Street, while some protestors torched a warehouse used by the settlers. Soldiers fired dozens of gas bombs causing fire to a home that belongs to Asaliyya family.

Clashes also took place in Al Thoury, Ras Al Amoud, and Batn Al Hawa; sixteen residents were wounded by rubber-coated metal bullets fired by the Police, while dozens of residents were treated for the effects of teargas inhalation.

Also, the home of Eid Haddad was burnt when the police fired teargas bombs into it, and his family received treatment for teargas inhalation.

Local youth responded by hurling a Molotov cocktail at a military post installed on the rooftop of a residential building in Batn Al Hawa.

Furthermore, an Israeli court decided to keep Suad Shiokhy in detention until next Monday after the prosecution claimed “having a secret file against her”.

Shiokhy, a local resident of Wadi Hilwa, was kidnapped last Monday at dawn after she was violently beaten and attacked by the soldiers.

Her family said they intend to file an appeal to the Israeli High Court as charges were never filed against her.

In Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, soldiers and policemen attacked the weekly nonviolent protest as the residents, Israeli and international peace activists marched and chanted against the Israeli occupation, settlements and the Annexation Wall.

IsraHell government quietly funds KKK-like organizations

Yossi Gurvitz

The government funds an ultra-racist organization, which campaigns against “miscegenation” and assimilation

The LHVH (“Preventing assimilation in the Holy Land”) organization made a lot of headlines in recent months, much due to the very active MK Tzippi Hotovely (Likud). It is hyperactive in preventing “miscegenation marriages” and preventing the pure daughters of Israel from soiling themselves in contact with non-Jews. It is also rather quick to support the lynching of non-Jews (Hebrew), even if the lynching has nothing to do with assimilation/”miscegenation”.

In this weekend’s Haaretz supplement, Uri Blau and Shay Greenberg show (Hebrew) that LHVH, which is an admittedly Kahanist organization, receives indirect funding from the government. It is funded by the Khemla association, which in turn receives funds from the Welfare Ministry.

Originally, note Blau and Greenberg, Khemla was in fact a welfare association, but in 2002 it amended its goals and added two new articles: “Aiding girls from broken homes who are facing the danger of forced conversion (i.e., assimilation; U.B. and S.G.) and falling into a life of crime, by rehabilitating them in an apartment and by providing them with sociological and psychological help to re-enter Jewish society”; the other was “Aiding the hill people [i.e., extreme settlers – YZG] in Judea, Samaria and Gaza”.

The leaders of Khemla are prominent Kahanists. One of them, Levi Hazan, spent six months in prison – a rather severe sentence when it comes to Jewish terrorists – for his part in an attack on a Palestinian bus, which wounded six. Others of Khemla’s leaders were held in administrative detention, which is rather unusual for Jews. The manager of Khemla’s women safehouse, Rakhel Baranes, is one of the signatories of the “rabbis’ wives letter”. Apart from this safehouse – which Blau and Greenberg report they found empty – LHVH also operates a “ratting line”, encouraging people to report on neighbors planning to rent apartment to non-Jews, as well as providing special “kosher titles” to businesses who promise to refrain from employing non-Jews. The government, through the Welfare Ministry, is responsible for about half the yearly budget of Khemla, about 600,000 to 700,000 NIS (circa 175,000 to 203,000 USD).

Now, this is blatant racism, for one simple reason. According to Jewish law, which Israel recognizes and in this case enforces, Judaism is passed through the matrilineal line. The children of a Jewish woman who converts, or who merely chooses a non-Jewish life partner, are Jews. At best, they are “captive children”, i.e. Jews who did not receive proper Jewish upbringing. On the other hand, a Jewish man who picks a non-Jewish wife or partner exits Judaism – again, we’re speaking Halachic, Orthodox, law here – and his children will not be considered Jews. It would make sense, then, for such anti-miscegenation campaigns to focus on Jewish males; yet, for reasons easy to guess – racism always went hand in hand with misogyny – that is not the case, and we are warned of Palestinian witches brewing seduction potions from the lungs of rabbits (Hebrew).

LHVH isn’t the only Israeli organization active in this field. It is preceeded by the old ultra-Orthodox Yad Le’Akhim association, which also dabbled in “anti-missionary” activity, and as such is more of an equal-opportunity hater. Yad Le’Akhim, too, enjoys official support: The city of Ashkelon provided it with a building (Hebrew), and it receives systematic aid from the Ministry of the Interior (Hebrew).

Hotovely claimed her support of the Kahanists was derived from “a concept of Zionism, which says that Jews should marry Jews”. In this she is certainly correct. The great enemies of Zionism weren’t the antisemites – they were often enthusiastic allies, since they, too, thought Jews should emigrate from Europe – but rather the assimilators and the member of the Bund. The first group denies the concept of Jewish fate, and the latter refused to accept the “a people apart” concept, and tied their fate to that of the other people in the bubbling cauldron of Eastern Europe. With few exceptions, the Zionists were as hostile to a Jew who chose a non-Jewish partner as the Orthodox rabbis were. Mapai, the forerunner of Labor, for all its talk of fraternity, refused to open a mixed (i.e., combining Jewish and Arab children) kindergarten in 1930s Haifa – citing fear of assimilation.

You could claim that, ideally, Zionism could exist without being racist. Practically, however, it’s hard to think of a form of Zionism – Jewish ultra-nationalism – which could promote equality. Israeli law does not recognize equality to be a basic legal right. Even those Zionists who attacked the folly and unrighteousness of Jewish law stopped at the primal barrier of the fear of blood defilement.

So now we learn that furtively, underground, the state of Israel cooperates with the most extreme racists, in order to use them in the struggle against Jews’ right to cease being Jews. It’s worth noting that the Ministry of Education already told Hotovely’s committee it will aid the struggle against assimilation by “increasing Jewish identity” and “advocating family life”. But there are limits to what the Education Ministry – even one which forbids its students to read the universal declaration of human rights since it recognizes the right to convert (Hebrew) – can do. The courts will make noise and possibly even act; there would be an international hue and cry; the Hasbara war effort may suffer. That’s what you have organizations like LHVH and Yad Le’Akhim for: Being the unofficial “modesty watch” of the Zionist state, acting where the social taboo against miscegenation – much stronger, say, than the one in pre-Nazi German society – isn’t good enough.

And remember: Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East.
