Greek Tragedy Goes Global

by Stephen Lendman

After Greece’s government surrendered to banker occupation, trends analyst Gerald Celente told Russia Today that:

America’s “economy continues to decline. There’s no recovery in sight.” Across Europe in Greece, Britain and elsewhere, people are reacting against forced austerity to assure bankers get paid.

In fact, Trends Journal months ago called it “off with their heads 2.0….The global ponzi scheme is under collapse….whether it’s in Egypt, Tunisia, whether it’s in the UK, Greece. Watch out for Spain. Here comes Italy. Ireland’s coming up the backstretch. It’s only going to get much worse.”

“The people know the score….What killed capitalism (is explained) in four simple words: too big to fail…The banks are failing, and they want the people to bail them out….I want to make this clear. The IMF is nothing more than the International Mafia Federation, the loan sharks of last resort, and the people know it. They call it privatization. Adults call it stealing valuable public assets, and selling them to your friends really cheaply.”

In all these countries, “the politicians only represent the people who give them the most amount of money….And what do these austerity measures bring – a lot more poverty and unemployment.” People know it. They’re mad, and they’re reacting globally.

Expect it eventually in America, the heart of predatory capitalism, stealing from the many for the privileged few, bankers and war profiteers always first in line for handouts, as much as they want whenever they want it.

On July 2, long-time former insider, market analyst/observer Bob Chapman said world markets, especially America’s, “are in a state of uneasiness, and it’s only a matter of time before they degenerate further. The real question is will everything break loose between now and the end of the year?” In part, it will, and it’s currently happening.

In fact, problems Chapman explained months ago “are coming together like a bad dream. This could be a replay of 2008, but for a different set of reasons.” Wall Street is a reliable leading indicator.

On June 16, New York Times writer Susanne Craig headlined, “Wall Street Braces for New Layoffs as Profits Wane,” saying:

“Wall Street plans to get smaller this summer.” Faced with economic weakness, “many of the biggest firms are preparing for deep cuts in jobs and other costs.” According to Normura analyst Glenn Schorr, “It’s a tense environment right now,” suggesting hard times perhaps returning soon.

According to Chapman, Greece’s problems weren’t solved. They’re festering greater than ever. More on that below. Moreover, sovereign nation debt ratings “are falling like ten-pins. (We believe that) euro, (Eurozone) and European Union problems….are unsolvable.”

“Little has been done to repair” the 2008 debt crisis. Conditions across Europe, Britain and America are no better. Sooner or later Greece will default, perhaps causing “a collapse of the world financial system, as we know it….The entire financial sectors” in Western countries “are more vulnerable now than ever” and getting worse.

Watch out. Failure somewhere could trigger panic globally. Moreover, China’s economy is slowing. Major inflation and real estate bubble problems exacerbate it, and Japan’s now back in recession. Overall, talk of recovery is illusion, not fact, in the face of growing global deterioration.

Financial expert and investor safety advocate Martin Weiss has been warning regularly about deepening debt crises and likely defaults. On July 4, his latest report is headlined, “Why the Great Greek Tragedy Has Barely Begun,” saying:

The likelihood of Greek debt default is much higher than ever, what Western governments and media won’t explain until its debt bubble implosion no longer can be hidden.

Have bailouts helped? Absolutely not! In fact, global institutional investors believe “the probability of a Greek default is FOUR times greater today than (when) European officials announced” their bailout.

Moreover, when Lehman Bros. failed in September 2008, “the most investors were willing to pay for $10 million in Greek debt default coverage was $52,000. Today, they’re paying 45 times more!”

In fact, they know that force fed austerity, including tax hikes, layoffs, spending cuts, lower government revenues, and public asset fire sales won’t avoid default. It’s not if, just when and how badly contagion spreads globally.

What Greece and other troubled economies, entrapped by IMF mandates, have done is sign their “own death warrant.” Greece’s loans will keep it going another few months at most, “through the summer, but not a single second longer,” so it’s back for more help, more cuts, higher unemployment, less revenue, greater poverty on the road to financial oblivion like other countries on the same path.

As a result, Weiss sees three major financial crises ahead:

(1) Already reeling from America’s greatest housing depression, US banks face more crushing burdens ahead because of their exposure to European banks that have loaned billions to Greece. When they’re hit, US banks go with them, those most exposed hammered hardest.

(2) Vulnerable US money funds have “half of their $1.6 trillion in assets in European banks.” Moreover, “50 million Americans have money in those funds!” When Greece defaults, they’ll be hard-pressed to repay what they borrowed. As a result, “breaking the buck” may follow, meaning their share price value will fall below $1, what most investors once thought impossible, but it happened after Lehman collapsed.

In late June, even Bernanke admitted that European bank exposure “pose(s) some concern to money market mutual funds,” a rare divergence from past rosy scenario predictions.

However, danger signs extend well beyond money funds. Virtually all global debt markets are vulnerable, including corporate commercial paper and US Treasuries. When crisis conditions deepen globally, no financial assets are safe. As a result, catastrophic consequences are possible.

(3) “Washington is suffering from the same debt disease as Athens,” multiplied many times over. As a result, every hardship Greece now faces offers “a sneak preview of what could be in store (for America), barring” an unlikely major political miracle as lawmakers debate exacerbating measures, not healing ones. No wonder Weiss advises, “Above all, stay safe!”

In Part 2 of his May Quarterly Letter to investors, GMO asset management firm co-founder and chief strategist Jeremy Grantham headlined, “Time to be Serious” by lightening up on risk exposure at a time stocks are 40% overvalued and fixed income “badly overpriced.”

With red flags emerging everywhere, now’s “not the time to float along with the Fed, but to fight it,” meaning safety is essential over risk as beating odds gets longer  in a global economy getting sicker, not better, but don’t expect Western governments or media to explain.

Egypt-IsraHell gas pipeline targeted…again

The latest attack halted the flow of Egyptian LNG to Israel, Jordan

CAIRO, July 7 (IPS) – The pipeline that carries Egyptian natural gas to Israel was attacked by unknown perpetrators on Monday (July 4), the third such incident since the January 25 Revolution that ended the rule of longstanding president Hosni Mubarak.

“We still don’t know who’s responsible,” North Sinai Security Director Saleh al-Masri told reporters in the immediate wake of the incident. “But the methods employed were the same as those used in previous attacks.”

The pipeline was first attacked on February 5, at the height of the Tahrir Uprising and six days before Mubarak’s departure. Reportedly carried out by unidentified gunmen not far from the city of Al-Arish in Egypt’s northern Sinai Peninsula, the attack halted the flow of gas to both Israel and Jordan for almost six weeks.

On March 27, a second attack on the pipeline was thwarted when Egyptian authorities managed to disarm explosive devices set by unknown perpetrators. Exactly one month later, however, masked gunmen again succeeded in blowing up a section of the pipeline near Al-Sabil (some 50 kilometers west of Al-Arish), again bringing gas flows to Israel and Jordan to a standstill for almost six weeks.

The most recent attack, which occurred before dawn on Monday at the Bir al-Abd terminal (some 80 kilometers west of Al-Arish), was also reportedly the work of a handful of masked attackers. According to initial reports, the perpetrators tied up security guards — who were later released unharmed — while explosive devices were planted in the terminal and detonated from a distance.

North Sinai Governor Abdelwahab Mabrouk condemned the attack, which he described as “an act of terrorism targeting the security and stability of Sinai.”

Petroleum ministry sources said repairs would take up to 15 days.

The latest attack has reportedly stopped the flow of Egyptian gas to Israel, Jordan and much of the Sinai Peninsula itself.

Egypt first began selling natural gas to Israel in 2008 despite widespread public opposition. An export deal hammered out three years earlier allows Egyptian-Israeli energy consortium East Mediterranean Gas (EMG) to sell Egyptian gas to Israeli buyers, including the government-run Israel Electric Corporation (IEC).

Notably, one day before the latest attack, Israeli daily Haaretz reported that IEC planned to raise consumer electricity prices by 20 percent “due in part to the lack of Egyptian gas.” The IEC, Israel’s main electricity supplier, relies on Egyptian gas for some 45 percent of its production capacity.

Along with its obvious political implications, the gas-to-Israel export scheme also drew fierce public criticism due to the fact that sale prices were never divulged by the government. Reports in the international media, however, indicated that Israeli buyers were purchasing Egyptian gas at prices well below international rates.

“There’s no excuse for selling Egyptian gas at prices less than those paid by the Egyptian public, especially when 40 percent of the Egyptian population is living in poverty,” Ibrahim Zahran, energy expert and former chairman of Khalda Petroleum Company, told IPS.

In late 2008, an administrative court ruled that the export scheme was illegal, on grounds that it had never been approved by Egypt’s parliament. The ruling, however, was never implemented, and was overturned in 2010 by Egypt’s High Administrative Court following an appeal by Mubarak regime officials.

Egypt’s Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), meanwhile, which has governed the country since Mubarak’s ouster, has continued to keep the sale price a secret.

On July 26, an administrative court is expected to rule on a new case brought against the transitional government to demand the enforcement of the initial court ruling against the export scheme.

Notably, on June 16, Hussein Salem, former EMG co-owner and close associate of the deposed president, was arrested in Spain on corruption charges. Salem, along with Mubarak and former petrol minister Sameh Fahmi, stand accused of making illicit profits through the gas-export scheme at the expense of the public purse. The first hearing in the case is scheduled for July 16.

“Egyptian gas exports to Israel have cost the country some $10 billion annually,” Ibrahim Youssri, former Egyptian deputy FM and long-time critic of the export scheme, told IPS. “The architects of this deal committed high treason and should be punished accordingly.”

According to petroleum ministry officials, negotiations with Israel over a revised pricing scheme are ongoing. Further details, however, have not been forthcoming.

Many energy experts, meanwhile, say Egyptian natural gas should be used to meet domestic consumption needs rather than being sold to foreign buyers at reduced prices. They point to a recent shortage of butane gas — the main source of fuel in most Egyptian households — which caused black-market prices for butane cylinders to skyrocket more than 600 percent.

“If Egyptian gas went to the domestic market instead of export, Egypt would save itself the cost of subsidizing petroleum products, which accounts for more than 100 billion Egyptian pounds (US$16.8 billion) of the current budget,” said Zahran.

He went on to call for the halt of all natural gas exports, noting that Egypt also sells gas — at only slightly higher prices — to Jordan, Lebanon, France, Spain, Malaysia and the US.

The perpetrators of the recent string of attacks, meanwhile, remain at large.

According to Hatem al-Buluk, an Egyptian journalist based in North Sinai, the bombings might have been the work of “Sinai-based revolutionaries” opposed to the notion of selling gas to Israel — particularly in light of the latter’s continued abuse of the Palestinian people. “This theory is supported by the fact that none of the attacks resulted in any deaths or injuries,” al-Buluk told IPS.

In an indication of the deep popular opposition to the export arrangement, some prominent public figures praised the attacks, calling them “acts of patriotism.”

“These acts constitute a legitimate response to the sale of Egyptian gas — at reduced prices — to an enemy of Egypt,” Mahmoud al-Khodeiri, former deputy head of Egypt’s Supreme Court, said on Monday.

Ofergate: The Latest Zionist Propaganda Blitz Against Iran

The Islamic Republic
of Iran is once
again being assaulted
by Zionism’s
propaganda machine.

by Jonathan Azaziah

From the moment that the Islamic Revolution of Ayatollah Sayyed Ruhollah Khomeini and tens of millions of Iranians toppled the Israeli-US-UK-backed Shah and defeated the CIA’s counterrevolution, there has been a sustained campaign of violence, propaganda and subversion against the Islamic Republic of Iran. This campaign, naturally, has been led by the Zionist entity with crucial support being provided by America, Britain and a handful of strategically installed Arab dictators.

It began on September 22, 1980 when Saddam Hussein invaded Iran at the behest of the Zionist Power Configuration in Washington, initiating the genocidal Iran-Iraq War. Over one million Iranians were slaughtered and more than 400,000 Iraqis were murdered in the Western-backed war of aggression on the revolutionary Iranian nation. The war was designed by an Israeli-American-Saudi-Kuwaiti axis, in an attempt to depict Persian Iran as the enemy of the Arabs, protect US-Zionist oil interests (1), crush the Islamic Revolution and of course, to replant a Shah-like dictator friendly to Zionism and the West. Saddam was bankrolled by the House of Saud to the tune of half a billion dollars during the war and received critical intelligence support as well as assistance in piloting missiles against Iranian targets from the usurping Israeli entity’s Mossad (2).

As the war dragged on and the civilian body count continued to rise, the Zionist media introduced its most prolific lie: the story of Israel providing advisors for and selling weapons to Iran during its war with Iraq in the amount of $500 million. The Islamic Revolution repeatedly and vehemently denied the story as Zionist propaganda aimed at distorting Iran’s image in the Arab world and misdirecting Arabs from absorbing the inspiration of the Revolution (3).

Iran-Israel weapons

deals during the

Iran-Iraq war:

Lies, lies and

more Zionist lies.

The only sources for this ridiculous, slanderous, concocted $500 million figure: the UK newspaper ‘The Observer,’ a subsidiary of the Zionist-owned Guardian, TIME Magazine, an infamous, long-standing asset of the Zionist Power Configuration’s propaganda machine, Ronen Bergman, a prominent Israeli journalist with deep ties to the Zionist intelligence establishment and who composed an entire book labeling Iran as the ‘world’s most dangerous terrorist power,’ bashing its people, its Revolution and its peaceful nuclear program (4) and the Jaffe Center For Strategic Studies at Tel Aviv University, an institute that has been run by Aman, Israel’s military intelligence agency, since its opening (5). Zionist fingerprints everywhere; the evidence of falsehood regarding this weapons deal is thoroughly overwhelming.

In reality, the Israeli (and American) weapons used by the Islamic Revolution in its struggle against Saudi-US-Mossad-backed Iraq had been delivered to the Shah in his multiple arms purchases from the West long before 1979 (6). In reality, the Zionist entity continued its clandestine support for Saddam Hussein after the war that devastated Iran and Iraq both and conducted multiple attempts to assassinate Ayatollah Sayyed Ruhollah Khomeini (7).

In reality, the Ayatollah had been the only Muslim leader in his time (excluding the martyred revolutionary Iraqi leader Abdul Karim Qassem) to speak against the Zionist colonization project in Palestine and the only Muslim leader to stand up to the Zionist-occupied American government’s hegemony in the region. It was Ayatollah Sayyed Ruhollah Khomeini who supported Resistance throughout the region and it was the Ayatollah, who started the tradition of ‘Al-Quds Day,’ to raise global awareness for the Palestinian struggle and demand the unequivocal liberation of the holy land from Zionism, something that he considered a top priority (8).

Immediately following the triumph in 1979, throughout the Iran-Iraq war and after its end, all the way until now in the present day, the Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MEK) organization that once fought alongside the Islamic Revolution has waged bloody war against it after Ayatollah Khomeini expelled its leadership for sedition. It fought with Saddam Hussein from its Camp Ashraf base in northern Iraq, which it set up under American and Israeli protection. And since 2002, it has worked intimately with Mossad and the Zionist Project for a New American Century to destabilize Iran’s peaceful nuclear energy program (9). Meanwhile, its terrorism against the Islamic Republic’s civilian infrastructure has been brutal. Since the fall of the Shah, MEK has murdered at least 16,043 Iranians (10).

The most notorious selection of Zionism’s propaganda against Iran in recent years is the 2009 Iranian presidential elections, without question. Despite massively-adored nationalist-populist incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad winning by landslide proportions (63.3% or 24.5 million votes) over his Western-backed opponent Hossein Mousavi, the Zionist media unleashed an onslaught of reports that the elections were stolen, with absolutely, positively no evidence. The entire leadership of the vastly powerful Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish American Organizations, the Zionist entity’s Foreign Ministry and the Zionist-owned pro-Israel institutions of CNN and the New York Times demanded even harsher sanctions against the Islamic Republic in the wake of the elections (11).

Israel was not

happy when Dr.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

won the 2009 Iran

elections by a landslide.

Meanwhile, the streets of Tehran were on fire as Mousavi and his ‘Green Movement’ followers staged violent, destructive demonstrations in protest of Ahmadinejad’s victory, much to the delight of the neo-conservative, Israel-firster cabal that controls America’s foreign policy. However, it didn’t take long for the truth to emerge from the shadows. The Green Movement was part of a Bush-era destabilization plot against the Islamic Revolution worth $400 million (12), and it was being fully directed by the CIA and the Zionist-founded, Zionist-run National Endowment for Democracy (13).

There of course, are the ever-present criminal sanctions that have been escalated year after year since the fall of the Shah. The most detrimental piece of sanctioning legislation to hit the Islamic Republic is the AIPAC-backed ‘Iran-Libya Sanctions Act’ of 1996. It has utterly crippled Iran’s aviation industry and due to the Persian nation’s inability to import the proper parts for its airplanes, thousands have died in plane crashes since the 1996 act’s implementation in the geopolitical arena. The sanctions have turned Iran’s commercial airliner fleet into the pinnacle of insecurity (14).

But the Zionist’s entity’s wars, assassination attempts and sanctions have not broken the will of the Revolution. The aggression has not brought the Revolution to its knees, the Revolution has rejected the concept of groveling to Zionism as the Shah did so faithfully. Though mass murdering war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu has disturbingly labeled Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the successor of Ayatollah Khomeini, the ‘greatest threat to world peace (15),’ the Zionist entity has changed its tactics over the last 18 months, reverting to espionage and the hasbara blitzkrieg of the 1980s to smear Iran in the eyes of the Muslim/Arab world.

The Stuxnet Virus, the Israeli-created malicious program that is now wreaking havoc all over the world (16), was first unleashed on Iran in an American-Israeli plot that has significantly damaged Iran’s industrial sectors in the range of hundreds of millions of dollars and brought its peaceful nuclear energy program, which it was developing as an alternative to the oil-dominated energy market, to a screeching halt (17).

Wikileaks, led by

Julian Assange,

is a CIA-Mossad

Iran was heavily targeted by the ‘whistleblower’ group known as Wikileaks, which stunk of COINTELPRO from the moment that it emerged in the Zionist media and has now been fully debunked as a CIA-Mossad intelligence operation (18). Wikileaks released scores of ‘secret documents’ that absolved Israel of any malice in occupied Iraq, instead blaming everything on Iran (19), a lie of epic dimensions repeated often by every Zionist think tank in the US and UK. Wikileaks, led by Julian Assange, an asset of Zionist media giant and warmonger Rupert Murdoch and a darling of the godfathers of the illegitimate Israeli state, the Rothschilds (20), has been lambasted by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a ‘psychological warfare operation (21).’

Recent endeavors of the Zionist media include ‘revelations’ about Ahmadinejad’s Jewish roots and ‘shocking discoveries’ of the six-pointed Israeli star engraved in a building in the main square of Tehran. Needless to say, both stories are pathetically false, with the latter being the work of Zionist-owned Orwellian internet behemoth, Google, and were released to sow discord, unrest and chaos within the Islamic Republic (22).

None of Zionism’s manipulations and falsehoods however, could even remotely compare to what its media released to the detriment of Iran on May 24th, 2011.

The Israeli Ofer brothers

are at the heart of a scandal

that has more to it than

meets the eye.

Hasbara Galore: Israel-Iran Trade and the Ofer Brothers

The story surfaced and immediately sent ripples throughout the globe. The United States announced new sanctions against seven companies for business transactions processed with the Islamic Republic of Iran. One firm from Monaco, one from Venezuela (a ‘hostile environment’ as far as the US-Israel nexus is concerned), another from Singapore, another from the UAE, two connected to Iran itself and one… from the Zionist entity (23). The idea that an Israeli company was doing business with its bitter, despised enemy, Iran, was a hard enough pill to swallow. But this was no ordinary firm. This firm was owned by the Ofer Brothers Group, as in the brotherly duo of Sammy and Yuli Ofer, reportedly known to be the Zionist entity’s wealthiest men (24). This added another layer of strange to the story.

The snake of hasbara reared its ugly head in the blink of an eye, and a torrential downpour of bizarre ‘breaking news’ was at every corner of the Zionist entity’s newspapers. The reports started coming in at lightning speed, and what started as ‘Ofergate’ evolved into a mutated media monster about actual trade relations between Iran and Tel Aviv: 13 ships owned by the Ofer Brothers had docked in the Islamic Republic over the course of a decade, and a relationship was established with the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (25), 200 Zionist companies had financial links to the Islamic Revolution’s energy sector (26), hundreds of Israeli firms (and American firms also) conducting business with Iran via sub-companies (27), and the most outlandish of all, that Iran trades marble, cashews and pistachios with the Zionist entity for Israeli organic fertilizers, pierced irrigation pipes, hormone-boosting milk products and seeds and that an Iranian Agriculture Ministry official traveled to Tel Aviv to thank it for the business (28). Outrageous. Undeniably outrageous.

The origins of this hasbara will be dealt with in a moment. The first question is, why would the American government, which is dominated and controlled by Zionists of every known type, from WINEP to AIPAC, ZOA to AJC, Brookings to CFR, release information about an Israeli company doing business with Iran?

The first answer is simple. The American government wouldn’t unless it was told to do so by its Zionist puppetmasters. The second question is in two parts: why would the Zionist Power Configuration want such information released? And, wouldn’t this information be excruciatingly damaging to the usurping regime’s efforts to force military action against Iran? The answer to the second part is also a simple one: no, absolutely not, because it is an indisputable fact that Zionists control the media and a scandal of this magnitude can be buried just as quickly as it is ‘excavated.’ Additionally, Zionism’s subversive activities against the Islamic Revolution haven’t been deterred by this story in the slightest, nor has its power over Western governments been diminished. The answer to the first part has been summed up perfectly and succinctly by Chairman of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines (ICCIM), Mohammad Nahavandian:

ICCIM Chairman

“News about activities of Zionist firms in Iran is a new game started in reaction to the willingness of certain countries to establish economic ties with Iran. Several countries have expressed their willingness to increase economic interactions with Iran following the global economic crisis. They cannot deprive themselves from the growing economy in Iran. In addition to a legal ban, Iran regards Zionist firms and their policy makers as the main factors behind economic sanctions against the Islamic Republic and refrains from making any deal with them (29).”

It is no secret that Iran has taken a proactive approach in the MENA region and established solid financial and diplomatic ties with the majority of the MENA nations, including those experiencing upheaval. The Islamic Revolution is treading in territory that the Zionist entity allows nothing and noone to tread in: the global commerce system. MENA, where Iran, an Islamic regional power, has a vested interest in, is being prepped for destablization and mass neoliberalism via the ultra-powerful supranational financial institutions known as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development {EBRD} and the European Investment Bank {EIB} (30). To keep Iran far away from its EBRD and EIB projects, Zionism released these allegations through its media to once again drive daggers into Iran’s reputation.

Israel unleashed

its most prolific

hasbara fellows

for ‘Ofergate.’

As was the case with the venomous Iran-Israel weapons deal propaganda during the Iran-Iraq war, only with more prevalence here, all sources for ‘Ofergate’ originate from the Zionist entity: Yossi Melman, well-known columnist for Haaretz with abyssal ties to Shin Bet, IOF, Mossad and Aman; Tel Aviv University and Haifa University, both schools are entrenched in Israel’s military society, with each of them graduating their fair share of Knesset members, Prime Ministers, Mossad officials and IOF officers; and the Israeli-Arab Friendship Association, a capitalist, neoliberal think tank-type organization that whitewashes occupation and Palestinian suffering in the pursuit of profit. Liars, propagandists, exploiters, hasbara fellows, warmongers and more liars. It is also of grave importance to note that the Israeli government and Shin Bet rule the media sphere with an iron fist, issuing gag orders on ‘national security’ matters and revoking publishing licenses when need be (31). If the Zionist leadership didn’t want the aforementioned band of liars to publish this information, it wouldn’t have been published. Period.

While it is clear that the media’s coverage of ‘Ofergate’ is a hasbara operation of the highest degree, part of a greater demonization and isolation agenda that Israel and its Western stooges have pursued against Iran since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, there is still another aspect to it; a darker aspect. An intelligence aspect. An aspect highly worthy of comment due to the implications it has for the future of Iran.

Mossad, through

the Ofer Group,

has orchestrated an

all-out infiltration

of the Islamic

The Mossad Angle: All-Out Infiltration

The immense wealth of the Israeli Ofer Brothers is by no means the most troubling point of ‘Ofergate.’ What is most troubling is what lurks beneath the Ofer Group exterior. It is more than ‘just’ a multi-billion dollar global holdings firm intricately interconnected with various banks, chemical companies and oil refineries. It is the owner of Zim Integrated Shipping Services (32), a firm connected to Mossad’s false flag attack on 9/11. One week before the Towers were brought down in a controlled demolition, Zim, which was 50% owned by the illegitimate state of Israel at the time, paid $50,000.00 to break its lease with no explanation as to why (33). Due to Zionist war criminal and author of the Patriot Act Michael Chertoff’s control of the Justice Department before, during and after 9/11, Zim was never investigated (34), nor was the Ofer Group for that matter.

The Ofer Group hasn’t just done favors for the Zionist intelligence-defense establishment in the past, it is the Zionist intelligence-defense establishment; forever at the service of the Israeli state, a major asset for all Zionist apparatuses. In the highest ranking corporate positions of the Ofer Group, there are senior officers of Mossad and IOF (35). This information is critical to the greater picture.

The day that the Zionist media’s psychological warfare began, Deputy Managing Director of Iran’s Port and Maritime Organization Mohsen Sadeqifar rejected all of the Israeli entity’s claims, stating “Ships belonging to shipping lines of the United States and particularly the Zionist regime have never entered Iranian ports during recent years. Iran’s Commerce Ministry or the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration have issued no license for any US or Israeli ship to dock in Iranian ports (36).” There is no reason to doubt what the Port and Maritime official states; logically, it checks out. The Islamic Republic of Iran represents Resistance to Zionism and its American marionettes, it would never, ever grant shipping licenses to what the Iranian leadership commonly refers to as ‘arrogant powers.’ At least… not knowingly.

The coverage of

‘Oferagate’ is just a

cover for an abyssal

Zionist intelligence

The Mossad-Aman-IOF-linked Ofer brothers have categorically denied that they sold ships to the Islamic Republic (37). Additionally, ex-Mossad director, war criminal and murderer Meir Dagan seemed nervous in downplaying ‘Ofergate,’ by saying nonchalantly that the media was ‘blowing it out of proportion’ but sternly refusing to elaborate further (38). This grants great credence to what was discussed in the previous section: the Israel-Iran ‘trade’ story is sheer concoction. And it is now known that this concoction is serving as a deflection. It is a cover-up. An operation within an operation. Its first purpose: smear Iran, cripple its financial ties abroad. Its second purpose: damage control for the Zionist entity’s infiltration of the Iranian nation.

As is the case in occupied Iraq, where at least 70 Zionist companies that work directly with Mossad are profiting off of Iraqi suffering under Arabic, Turkish, Kurdish and English names (39), it is now confirmed that the Ofer Group’s ships, in classic Mossad fashion, were also sailing into Iranian waters under foreign flags to cloak their identity (40). Hence, why the Islamic Revolution may have granted licenses to an Arabic, Turkish, Kurdish or English shipping company that was actually an espionage front for the Zionist entity. There is also the strong possibility, that no licenses were granted at all, and the Ofer Group spy ships penetrated Iran’s sovereignty in a typical display of Zionist intransigence.

Aboard these spy ships were numerous Mossad agents, including agents involved in the assassination of Hamas official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai (41), Black Hawk helicopters and hidden Israeli commandos to pilot the copters for reconnaissance missions against Iran (42). This would explain how the usurping Israeli entity managed to insert its agents within the fabric of the upper echelons of the Iranian defense sector to carry out assassinations of several nuclear scientists as well as the planting of the Stuxnet virus.

This operation is one of utmost severity. Shortly after ‘Ofergate’ broke out, the racist Zionist institution known as the Knesset convened for an investigation into the matter. The meeting orchestrated by the Knesset Economics Committee, led by Likudnik Carmel Shama-Hacohen, came to an abrupt halt in the beginning of the proceedings when Shama-Hacohen was passed a mysterious note seemingly requesting the shutdown of the investigation. It was unprecedented in the history of the Knesset (43).

Yaakov Amidror:

national security

advisor and former

Ofer official.

The author of the note was none other than the Zionist fascist Yaakov Amidror, Netanyahu’s current national security advisor, former head of the IOF’s military colleges, former Aman agent, and stunningly, former board member of the Israel Corporation, Zim Integrated Shipping Services and many of its subsidiaries, all of which are owned by the Ofer family (44). Amidror was shutting down unnecessary political meddling in a vast intelligence operation designed to breach every part of Iranian society and take down the Islamic Revolution from within, piece by piece, facilitating the easiness of a military strike.

Iran and its righteous, steadfast people must remain more vigilant and more aware than ever. The Mossad assets of ‘Ofergate’ are still at large and they must be expelled, captured or executed, whichever comes first, if the Islamic Revolution and its Resistance wish to advance into the realm of a peaceful future.

The greater

Israeli strategy

is to split Sunni and

Shia, Persian

and Arab, and pit them

against them one another.

Conclusion: The ‘Great Persian Conspiracy’

At the very core of ‘Ofergate’ and all of the Zionist entity’s 30-year aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran is the orientalist-planted idea of a ‘great Persian conspiracy.’ It is the historical orientalist-colonialist concept of ‘the other,’ that which is ‘different’ is that which is dangerous. The basis: Persian Iran, predominantly comprised of Muslims from the Shia school of thought, seeks imperial dominion over all of the Arab world which is predominantly comprised of Muslims from the Sunni school of thought.

It is the narrative that the Gulf States used in collusion with the US and the Zionist entity against Iran in the Iran-Iraq war. It is a narrative with no intelligent basis. It is a narrative that is lacking, entirely, in evidence. It is a narrative of lunacy. And it is a narrative that has been rejected by the people of the Arab world. 90% of the Arab populace supports Iran, its peaceful nuclear program and its stance on the liberation of Palestine. 88% of the Arab populace views Israel as the region’s greatest threat and 77% of the Arab populace views the US as the next greatest threat (45). The opinions of dictators, monarchs and autocrats, which were forged by their Western controllers to begin with, have been drowned out by the insight and intelligence of the Arab people.

There are no Iranian bases scattered throughout MENA. There is no Iranian depleted uranium; no Iranian white phosphorus. There are no Iranian banks seeking to financially demolish societies through neoliberalism. There are no Iranian occupations. There is no genocide at the hands of Iran. There is no Iranian lobby. There is no Iranian monopoly over the world’s media.

On the other hand, the US is illegally occupying Iraq, and, though it isn’t part of MENA, Afghanistan also. Over 3 million civilians have died in these genocidal endeavors. The US has its troops stationed on giant, illegal military bases throughout the majority of the Arab world, most prominently Qatar and Bahrain, home of the US 5th Fleet, where a peaceful protest movement is being systematically brutalized through murder, torture, kidnappings and military trials at the hands of the monstrous Khalifa family and its GCC allies (46). The US, UK and France are leading a criminal bombing campaign in Libya. And all of this Euro-American criminal activity, is at the behest of the Zionist entity, its neoconservative/neoliberal agents placed within the highest places of government, its immensely influential lobbies and its media. The Zionist entity itself criminally occupies Palestine, parts of Syria, parts of Lebanon and has consistently sought an expansionist agenda since its illegal creation 63 years ago.

Israel destroyed Iraq.

It deeply desires

to inflict Iran with

the same kind of carnage.

No nation has suffered from this expansionist agenda (and the Shia vs. Sunni myth) more than occupied Iraq, which has been destroyed beyond recognition by the Zionist entity’s elite intelligence operation known as ‘Fission Field Warfare (47).’ Despite the Zionist-induced carnage, the Sunni and Shia of Iraq have rejected sectarianism, instead standing together from the onset of the occupation to fight and expose it and those who would benefit from it, i.e. Zionism and its allies (48). It is by no means coincidental, that one of the leading advocates for the invasion of Iraq, who spread the most consequential lies (including sectarianism) for the furtherance of the Zionist agenda, the former Israeli occupation soldier, columnist for The Atlantic and hasbara fellow Jeffrey Goldberg (49), is now attempting to spread the very same lies to trigger events that would lead to balkanizing Iran. And for whose benefit? For Israel of course, and all of its slavish Arab dictatorships (50).

The Zionist entity longs for a military confrontation with Iran, whether directly like Lebanon or by proxy like Iraq. The Zionist entity will not be content until Iran, and its closest Arab ally, Syria, are ‘dealt with’ like Libya is being ‘dealt with,’ according to genocidal, xenophobic Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman (51). Dealing with Iran the ‘Libya way,’ would mean incessant ‘shock and awe’ bombardments carried out against Tehran’s civilian population with depleted uranium, white phosphorus, smart bombs and helicopter gunships on a nightly basis, as Tripoli is experiencing now (52). The Israeli regime has already drawn up plans to strike 3,100 targets in the Iranian cities of Isfahan, which has a population of over 1.5 million, and Natanz (53).

Meanwhile, the subversion continues. As if being a target of the Zionist entity’s Wikileaks operation wasn’t enough, Iran is now under cyber attack from a group called Anonymous, a network of ‘hacktivists’ who would like the world to believe they’re fighting for truth, justice and freedom for all. This is nothing more than a front. They’re not. They’re launching open warfare on the Islamic Revolution’s servers for the US State Department, the NSA and the CIA (54). And now, with Sammy Ofer, one half of the Ofer Group, Mossad’s multi-billion dollar asset, ‘passing away of an unknown illness (55),’ or, in this author’s opinion, being assassinated for admitting publicly that his company has carried out missions for the Zionist ‘state’ on previous occasions (56), expect Mossad to increase its criminal activity inside Iran. Possibly more assassinations. Possibly more MEK terror attacks than ever before. Also expect Iran to increase its defenses ten fold.

The late leader of the

Islamic Revolution

in Iran,

Ayatollah Sayyed

Ruhollah Khomeini (rip).

On June 3rd , the Islamic Republic spent the day mourning (and celebrating) to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of Ayatollah Sayyed Ruhollah Khomeini’s passing (57). The revolutionary leader’s accomplishments, courage and piety will stand the test of time as legendary, inspiring Muslims and non-Muslims alike from all different backgrounds, from all over the world. It is fitting to close with the wisdom of the late Ayatollah:

“We Muslims are busy bickering over whether to fold or unfold our hands during prayer, while the enemy is devising ways of cutting them off.” Let this quote serve as an example for all Muslims throughout the globe, specifically those living under the tyranny of occupation. Divisions, ethnic, religious or otherwise, benefit nobody but the oppressors. The ‘great Persian conspiracy’ is a great lie, perpetrated by the world’s imperial and financial powers to split Arabs and Persians apart while their resources are gobbled up by the aforesaid powers and their Islamic culture is butchered. The great Zionist conspiracy however, is exceedingly real and it must be defeated for justice to reign on this planet.

Ayatollah Khomeini feels the same, hence why he once said, “The Zionist regime occupying al-Quds will vanish from the pages of history.” Indeed it will. It is simply a matter of time. And thanks to the Islamic Revolution in Iran, which has inspired the Resistance of Lebanon, Somalia, occupied Kashmir, occupied Palestine and countless other activists, sheikhs, scholars, bloggers, writers, fighters and poets worldwide in the fight against international Zionism, that time appears to be sooner rather than later.

Kiss Of ‘Democratic’ Death: IsraHell’s Plot To Take Down Syria II

There is much more

to Al-Jazeera than meets

the eye. Behind the

curtain lies a shady

Zionist past.

by Jonathan Azaziah

In the the first part of the series, prior plots against Syria were brought to light and the modern alliance between Zionism and the House of Saud was exposed, as were the directors of the Zionist-Saudi axis’ ‘Syrian Revolution.’ Here in the conclusion of ‘Kiss of ‘Democratic’ Death,’ the more clandestine hands attempting to deliver Syria into ruin will be revealed and all doubts to what this revolution actually is will be put to rest…

Media Manipulation: Zionism and Al-Jazeera Unite

No attack on sovereign nations, whether overt like in Libya or covert like in Syria, comes without a steady flow of propaganda against the ‘hostile environment’ being targeted. And the psychological warfare being waged against Syria is exceedingly heavy. The Zionist-run, Zionist-owned Western mainstream press was not alone in this sustained campaign of skullduggery though. This time around, it partnered up with the Qatari state media giant Al-Jazeera to boost the hasbara festivities and give them an ‘Arab’ feel, therefore granting ‘legitimacy’ to the aforesaid hasbara.

Al-Jazeera has operated with a pro-Israel, anti-Resistance stance from its inception, employing many Zionist hardliners to shape programming and reporting (73). The reason for this, unbeknownst to most, is that the US-backed Qatari dictator, Emir Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani, did not create Al-Jazeera, although he is its predominant fiancier. Al-Jazeera was created by the French-Israeli billionaire Zionist brothers, David and Jean Frydman, who set up the network to infiltrate media in the Islamic World and to control Middle East discourse on the Zionist occupation of Palestine. Both of them served as senior advisors to the Zionist war criminal prime ministers Yitzhak Rabin and Ehud Barak (74). Jean Frydman was also the personal financier of the father of Israel’s illegal nuclear program, war criminal Shimon Peres, and he poured millions of dollars into the ‘Oslo process (75),’ which tightened the Zionist entity’s stranglehold over Palestine.

For those who were unaware of Al-Jazeera’s hidden Zionist history and blind to its Zionist bias due to its ‘credible’ reporting on US war crimes in occupied Iraq and Afghanistan, the shroud of credibility began to vanish during the ‘Jan25 Revolution’ in Egypt, the hub being Tahrir Square in Cairo. Egypt’s revolution was/is a blend of Zionist infiltration through Western NGOs and globalist meddling at the highest level to counteract real frustration, real anger, real revolutionaries and their solidarity-anti-war-based activism.

The driving force behind the legitimate aspects of the revolution was Mubarak’s indentured servitude to Zionism and the pro-Israel administration in Washington D.C.; Tahrir Square’s protesters wanted an end to American military aid, an end to IMF domination, an end to Zionism and the liberation of Palestine. Activists repeatedly made these demands and continue to do so to this very moment. Al-Jazeera reported on none of it and continues to report on none of it, deliberately ignoring it and forging a watered-down false narrative to sell subscriptions to Western masses. Al-Jazeera’s analysis of the events in Egypt was completely dominated by Westerners from Zionist think tanks and NGOs, the same NGOs directing and funding the infiltration of the revolution (76).

Al-Jazeera has

served Zionism from its

inception and

continues to serve it

today in Libya and Syria.

Al-Jazeera further shot itself in the foot when it began covering the CIA’s coup attempt in Libya, peddling rumors, outright fabrications, unverified statistics and anti-Qaddafi propaganda as legitimate journalism to justify NATO’s invasion. Al-Jazeera’s work on Libya has been nothing short of warmongering (77). This is to be expected though, and not only because of the undeniable Zionism of Al-Jazeera. Al-Jazeera’s patron, the despot of Qatar, is entrenched in the criminal war being waged against Libya. The CIA-backed, Israeli-advised rebels are receiving anti-tank weapons from Qatar (78), they have already signed an oil-marketing deal with Qatar (79), and together, the Qatar Emir and the Libyan rebels have begged America like dogs to amp up its destruction of Libya (80). With Libya under NATO siege and Egypt’s revolution hijacked and crushed, Al-Jazeera turned its attention to Syria.

The Western media’s alliance with Al-Jazeera reared its ugly head from the onset of the ‘Syrian Revolution.’ As the last section completely exposed, the ‘peaceful demonstrators’ were actually armed rebels, with their weapons coming from Zionist ally Jordan and their orders coming from Tel Aviv, Washington D.C. and Riyadh. After months of lies and propaganda, the United States government has finally admitted that there are indeed armed rebels carrying out violence in Syria, stating ‘there are a lot of them (81).’ Mainstream media has deliberately ignored the provocations of and attacks on Syrian security forces that have occurred from the opening week of the revolt, in which the Saudi-Israeli-directed armed gangs fired on and killed policemen and torched courthouses, hospitals, communications centers and Bashar al-Assad’s party headquarters (82). Hundreds of soldiers have been killed by this Zionist-designed insurrection and at least three mass graves filled with Syrian security forces have been found already (83).

Armed MB fighters

that Al-Jazeera

and the mainstream

Zionist media

refuse to report on.

Instead of reporting these facts, Al-Jazeera has fabricated multiple eyewitness reports, bloated the death toll, broadcasted incitement against Bashar al-Assad, put forth the foreign policy objectives of the GCC dictatorships to bring down the Syrian government and ignored the vital fact that the Zionist-run National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is active on the ground in Syria (84). Instead of reporting these facts, the mainstream media and Al-Jazeera peddle the (admittedly) unverifiable, false casualty claims of London-based Syrian opposition groups, which boast about their membership with Zionism’s NED (85). Instead of reporting these facts, Al-Jazeera is manipulating imagery to fit with its anti-Syria agenda and paying actors to make false statements against Bashar al-Assad (86).

Mainstream media has consistently reported on snipers shooting at ‘pro-democracy’ protesters and has published recorded ‘eyewitness’ testimony from a member of Syrian security forces who ‘admitted’ that the snipers are Syrian military. The problem with this ‘eyewitness,’ like every other ‘eyewitness’ presented by the Al-Jazeera-Zionist media axis, is that his name isn’t real, his voice has been modified, and the person who supposedly produced the recording isn’t using his real name either (87).

None of it is real and everything is muddled because it’s another Zionist media fabrication. What is not being reported in the mainstream, is that the Syrian government has fully disclosed that there are indeed snipers firing not only on ‘protesters,’ but security forces as well (88). Mainstream media would never reveal that the snipers are agents of the Zionist-Saudi plan to destabilize Syria put together by Saudi National Security Advisor ‘Prince’ Bandar bin Sultan and the slippery Zionist criminal, Jeffrey Feltman (discussed earlier). The Feltman-Sultan plan, financed by $2 billion in Saudi funds, trained agents within Syria in sniper fire, arson and ‘sectarian attacks,’ all for the cause of fracturing Syria and terminating its support for Hezbollah and Iran (89). Hence, why the Zionist media is also spreading vile hasbara about Iranian forces and Hezbollah fighters assisting Bashar al-Assad ‘crush dissent,’ obvious lies originating from Mossad and its closest ally in Syria, the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood (90).

Former Al-Jazeera

Beirut Bureau Chief,

Ghassan Bin Jeddo.

The nail in Al-Jazeera’s coffin in regards to its war on the Syrian nation is the resignation of its Beirut Bureau Chief, Ghassan Bin Jeddo, one of the most respected and objective journalists in the entire Arab world. Bin Jeddo, a fervent Arab nationalist and passionate supporter of Resistance to Zionism, resigned over Al-Jazeera’s shameless adherence to the foreign policy initiatives of the Zionist-Saudi alliance (91). He was furious that Al-Jazeera had launched a ‘smear campaign’ against Syria and labeled the network a ‘propaganda outlet (92).’ Going even further, Bin Jeddo declared “Al-Jazeera has resorted to gutter journalism. It is now an operations room for incitement and mobilization (93).” Ben Jeddo also confirmed that Al-Jazeera was fabricating information for its propaganda assault on Syria and expressed his disgust at the channel’s reporting on events in Bahrain (94). Ben Jeddo now plans to launch a new Arab channel from Beirut (95), presumably to counteract Al-Jazeera and its campaign against regional Resistance, Syria in particular.

Lastly, the demonstrations against Bashar al-Assad, despite their Zionist-Saudi financing and training have been minuscule considering Syria’s population consists of more than 20 million people. In contrast, the solidarity with the Resistance government has been tremendous and of course, not covered at all or mentioned in passing in typical ‘downplaying’ fashion by the Zionist media (Al-Jazeera included).

Massive pro-Assad rally

in Damascus. Not covered

by the Zionist media

(Al-Jazeera included)

at all.

On June 21st, millions of Syrians hit the streets throughout the nation in solidarity with Bashar al-Assad and the Resistance, including the Zionist-Saudi-strongholds of Aleppo and Homs, shattering the illusion that the President had no support in these cities (96). On March 29th, just two weeks after the destabilization plot began, hundreds of thousands marched through Damascus and four other cities in solidarity with Bashar al-Assad, eclipsing the smaller demos held by Zionism’s agents, displaying pictures of the President and flags of Syria together with occupied Palestine (97).

The June 15th rally for Bashar al-Assad was equally impressive, with hundreds of thousands of supporters unveiling a 2.3 kilometer flag that stretched through the streets of Damascus and chanting, “the people want Bashar al-Assad! (98)” The Chaldean Bishop of Aleppo attended the massive rally and confirmed that not only do Syria’s Christians wholeheartedly support Bashar al-Assad but 80% of Syria does (99). Abroad, Bashar al-Assad is receiving the same support in global arenas like Bulgaria (100), Lebanon (101) and even Dearborn, Michigan (102). With global support and the overwhelming solidarity of the populace on Bashar al-Assad’s side, it is evident that what the Syrian people want is not the overthrow of the person defending their nation from Zionist colonization but his continued reign with the necessary reforms implemented to better Syria as a whole. It is also evident that the ‘Syrian Revolution’ is a carefully concocted media farce serving as a cover for a destablization plot that is being executed by Zionism and its allies.

Scott Creighton, a journalist and activist who operates the American Everyman/Willy Loman blog at, perfectly (and brilliantly) pegged the strategy of the mainstream media’s reporting on Syria as “activists’ said journalism.” Any person claiming to be an activist can call into the control rooms and operations boards of any media outlet and ‘report’ something, and because the person on the other end of the phone is claiming to be an activist, the said media outlet can print it without any investigation or discretion and present it as accurate, fact-based news. Unfortunately for the powers that be, this pathetic excuse for journalism crumbles under scrutiny as the ‘activists’ are all linked to Zionism’s NGOs which continue to hover at the center of the destabilization effort against Syria (103). And unfortunately for the powers that be, what their fake ‘activists say,’ is trumped by what the real activists say: ‘Resistance and Bashar are here to stay.’

Turkey claims

it represents Resistance

while bowing to the

Zionist regime behind

closed doors.

Turkey: The Beast of Two Faces Emerges

May 31st, 2010. Early in the morning, in international waters, Zionist naval commandos illegally stormed an aid ship known as the Mavi Marmara, a Turkish ship part of the Freedom Flotilla mission to break Israel’s criminal siege against the Gaza Strip, and in stunningly savage fashion,  murdered 9 unarmed Turkish peace activists with the youngest being 19-year old Furkan Dogan, a dual Turkish-American citizen. The motive for this savagery, was to kill a historic nuclear agreement between Brazil, Turkey and Iran; which Israel did (104). Beyond that however, more so than another statistic on the Zionist entity’s century-old rap sheet, the attack on the Mavi Marmara was an act of war.

Turkish-Israeli relations had been going south since the Second Intifada. And each subsequent Zionist-initiated disaster/massacre, including Israel’s orchestration of Iraq’s destruction and its bloodthirsty, genocidal bombing of Lebanon in Summer 2006, soured ‘diplomacy’ even further. But it was at the 2009 World Economic Forum where, at least in appearance, civility between Turkey and the Zionist entity had hit a stonewall. Prime Minister Erdogan and the war criminal Shimon Peres shared a furious exchange in which Erdogan bashed the Zionist regime for its crimes against humanity in Gaza. In the aftermath, Turkey cancelled military exercises with IOF (105). Tension was at its peak, and analysts, activists and observers alike agreed that the Mavi Marmara murders were the proverbial straw that would break the camel’s back. It was believed that Turkey would cut its ties with the Zionist entity once and for all.

Everybody was wrong. Instead of withdrawing recognition of the usurping, occupying entity, the Turkish government bizarrely asked (over and over and over again) for it to apologize for its crimes and compensate the victims’ families with Zionist blood money. What is even more bizarre, is that after the Zionist entity humiliated Turkey to an even greater degree by stating publicly it would not apologize under any circumstances (106), Turkey still asked for the apology, as if it was a dog pleading with its master for a treat.

The incessant begging exposed Turkey’s real agenda and its attempt at portraying itself as a nation of Resistance slowly disintegrated. Turkey wanted entry into the European Union, a stronger role in NATO and desperately wanted the title of ‘regional power,’ serving as a power broker and go-between for East and West. How does a nation achieve such lofty ambitions? By bowing down to the Zionist entity of course. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey’s incumbent Prime Minister, accepted the ‘Courage to Care’ award from the ADL (107), a rotten, racist Zionist organization that has been linked to spying and other subversive activities for years. What kind of Resistance figure accepts an award from any Zionist institution, let alone one as vilely treacherous as the ADL?

Erdogan The Hypocrite:

Seen here shaking

hands with the

murderer of

the butcher of

butchers, Ariel Sharon.

Additionally, Erdogan, a defender of Zionism’s Armenian Genocide and denier of it even being a genocide, came under fire from the Mossad-CIA psyop known as Wikileaks and in the aftermath of the ‘Cablegate’ scandal, sent helicopters to the Zionist entity during recent forest fires on ethnically cleansed land in Palestine (108). Erdogan and his government did not send helicopters to Pakistan, Yemen or Somalia after Zionist stooge Obama’s drone bombings. Nor did he send helicopters to illegally besieged Gaza or Lebanon after the Zionist entity’s murderous bombings in 2006 and 2008-09. No, he sent helicopters to ‘Israel’ to show solidarity with Benjamin Netanyahu and mend ‘broken’ relations.

All of the bluster aside, Turkish-Israeli relations were never strained. It was mere theater; surface hostility. More important than Erdogan’s pathetic, cringe-worthy Zionist solidarity, is what everything boils down to in geopolitics: money, and like the sorely-missed Malcolm X once said, “Zionists have mastered the science of dollarism.” Thousands of Zionist companies operate in Turkey with the gleeful blessing of the Turkish government (109). Turkish-Israeli bilateral trade amounts to at least $3 billion annually and leaders from both entities gloat that it is most likely much more than that. Within weeks of the Freedom Flotilla massacre, the Zionist entity and Turkey signed a military deal for $190 million worth of drone technology. Israel’s products (all of which are produced on stolen land from stolen Palestinian natural resources) are deeply entrenched in Turkish society, with nearly all of Turkey’s software, from cell phones to medical equipment, being produced by Zionism (110). Turkey and ‘Israel’ were never going to end such profitable dealings.

The continuing trade and business dealings between Tel Aviv and Ankara in the wake of the Mavi Marmara murders has brought all public animosity to a screeching halt. The Zionist regime and Erdogan’s government are now collaborating in order to doctor a UN report regarding last year’s Freedom Flotilla massacre, with Turkey asking Israel to minimize the damage that Turkey’s image may incur (111). In return, with heavy pressure from the Zionist regime (112), Turkey stopped the Mavi Marmara from sailing with the new Freedom Flotilla II – Stay Human mission to Gaza by refusing to let it sail from Turkish ports (113). And with Turkish-Israeli reconciliation now near imminent completion as Turkish and Zionist officials are working to put together an official ‘reconciliation’ document (114), Ankara and Tel Aviv are now focusing their energies on a most intricate (and regionally rewarding) project: executing the ‘Clean Break’ plan to ‘roll back’ Syria.

Ankara is actively

collaborating with

Tel Aviv to ‘roll back’

This is affirmed by the February comments of, Dr. Oded Eran, who served as the Zionist ambassador to the European Union, ambassador to Jordan and is currently the director of the treacherous Israeli Institute For National Security studies (115). He spoke in a most ominous manner about the Arab revolutions and the affect that they would have on Turkish-Israeli ties. Disturbingly, he stated, “Given the seriousness of the situation created by the political upheaval in the Arab world, this may accelerate the process of restoring Turkish-Israeli ties.” Eran also stated that it would be in the best interest of the Zionist regime and Turkey to cooperate in delivering stability to the Middle East (116). How better for Israel and Turkey to bring ‘stability,’ i.e. propping up dictatorships that support the hegemonic Zionist agenda and toppling those who don’t, than invoking the Israeli-Turkish joint intelligence agreement.

This 1993 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) facilitated far-reaching, dastardly cooperation between Turkey and Zionism. The Zionist entity armed and trained the Turkish army in ‘anti-terror’ warfare along the borders of Iraq, Iran and Syria and Turkey allowed the Zionist entity to gather intelligence on Iran and Syria from within Turkey. The militaries of each entity meet frequently to discuss the prospects attained and assess it in the context of usefulness in future military and intelligence operations against ‘hostile environments.’ Under this agreement, Turkey is supporting the Israeli-Saudi operation against Syria in its entirety and it is assisting the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood’s incursions into the border town of Jisr al-Shughour militarily and with intelligence. All the while Turkey is exerting pressure on Bashar al-Assad to accept the Tel Aviv-Riyadh-Washington plans of regime change and step down (117). Erdogan has publicly declared that Bashar al-Assad’s response to the uprising is nothing short of “savagery (118),” knowing full-well that his country is supporting an armed insurrection.

Turkey’s involvement goes deeper. Turkish military and political leaders are heavily discussing the idea of setting up a buffer-zone within northern Syria, a deliberate violation of Syrian sovereignty. This will provide armed MB fighters easier entry into Syria to carry out the orders of Tel Aviv and Riyadh. Turkey has given safe haven to the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood’s leaders and recently hosted a high-level meeting between Syrian opposition figures and US officials (119). Ankara also hosted former CIA head and current Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta for five days in late April. The topic? Regime change in Syria (120). The Zionist-run US government has formed operational headquarters in southern Turkey near the Syrian border and has upped its aid to the Turkish army to assist Syrian dissidents in any way possible, including armed MB members (121). On the media front, the Turkish NTV channel has been churning out the same lies that the Zionist media has, including the lunacy about Iranian soldiers and Hezbollah ‘suppressing protesters (122).’

Is a Turkish-led

NATO invasion of

Syria at the behest of

Israel an imminent

The most frightening development of all, is that Turkey has given the green light to NATO to transform the Izmir Air Station in western Turkey into a base for ground forces (123). Former Turkish diplomat Ozdemn Sanberk, who is well-known and is still frequently called upon by government circles (124) and is currently sitting on the High Advisory Board of the Global Political Trends Center, a think tank that openly collaborates with the Soros-funded London School of Economics (125), has stated in a recent interview that Bashar al-Assad is ‘doomed’ and has admitted that Turkey is pursuing a policy that will ensure the ‘demise of the (Syrian) regime while protecting Turkish security (126).’ Is Sanberk referring to a NATO invasion of Syria? With Ankara already militarily involved in Syria as per its MOU with Israel and the events that led up to the NATO invasion of Libya paralleling the events in Syria, such an action is not out of the question.

What makes Turkey’s involvement so dangerous to Syria and detrimental to Resistance throughout the region is that it is clearly a beast with two faces. It disgustingly wears a mask of Islam and Resistance to fool and manipulate the naive and the hopeful while its true face remains submerged in a mound of intrigue and subversion, all for its Zionist masters. And what exactly is the true goal of this Tel Aviv-Ankara-Riyadh axis, excluding the aforementioned ‘regional stability?’ It isn’t just regime change. This axis wants to take down al-Assad and replace it with a racist, Saudi-like regime that will cripple ties with Iran and recognize the Zionist regime as a legitimate country (127). It will be up to the Syrian people, not just Bashar al-Assad and his army, to fight this plot and save their country.

‘A Gay Girl In

Damascus’ stinks

of Israeli

A Gay Girl In Damascus: Mere Hoax Or Israeli Intelligence Operation?

Hands down, without question, the most bizarre case that has come out of the Zionist plot to take down Syria is the blog known as ‘A Gay Girl In Damascus.’ This odd blog has been hailed and excessively promoted by the Zionist media over the last several months as a means to severely persecute Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian state as a whole. Supposedly, a half-Syrian, half-American lesbian blogger-activist named Amina Abdallah Araf al-Omari, who had been operating the blog for five years to raise awareness on Syria’s ‘poor human rights record,’ was abducted by Syrian security forces for her anti-regime activities. Apart from the obvious Zionist undertone beneath this persona and the story surrounding the ‘abduction,’ there was something else drastically wrong with all of it: nobody had ever met this ‘Amina Abdallah Araf al-Omari’ in person; not a single soul (128).

Nobody had ever met her before because, Amina Abdallah Araf al-Omari didn’t exist. She was the creation of 40-year old Thomas J. Macmaster from Stone Mountain, Georgia who now lives in Edinburgh, Scotland (129). But the trip through the realm of the bizarre doesn’t end there. It was uncovered that Macmaster once wrote about ‘Amina’s dream’ to learn Hebrew, live in the Zionist entity and represent Syria in the ethnically cleansed land now known as ‘Israel (130).’ Despite Macmaster then attempting to portray ‘Amina’ as pro-Palestinian (131), this single post revealed the very unsettling presence of Zionism.

And it gets more bizarre still. The ‘Amina’ profile was then linked to an Israeli website where Macmaster kept a log completely in Hebrew, something Macmaster has attempted to downplay as mere ‘web phishing (132).’ Phishing? Doubtful. Fishy? Absolutely. Once Macmaster was outed as the mastermind behind the Amina hoax, he issued an apology on the ‘Gay Girl In Damascus’ blog. Macmaster delivered the apology to the world from Istanbul, Turkey (133). Yes, of all of the places in the world to be while Zionism and Saudi Arabia direct armed insurrectionists against Syria, an American who is seemingly fluent in Hebrew is spreading hasbara about Bashar al-Assad and distributing fake reports about ‘human rights violations’ from Turkey, a central player in the ‘kiss of democratic death.’

Thomas J. Macmaster:

the American behind

‘A Gay Girl In

Mask of Zion’s sources have confirmed that Macmaster had also befriended several prominent solidarity activists, scholars and (real) pro-Palestine bloggers on Facebook, the social networking giant owned by Zionist Mark Zuckerberg. It is necessary to document that Facebook was started with capital provided by men who were board members of CIA’s business wing, In-Q-Tel and is now being used by the agency to recruit personnel for its ‘National Clandestine Service (134).’ Zuckerberg met with Zionist war criminal Shimon Peres at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in February 2009 to discuss ‘fighting anti-Semitism’ with Facebook (135), an Orwellian premise if there ever was one. And when the Zionist entity called on Zuckerberg to remove the ‘Third Intifada’ fan page from his website, he heeded the call and did just that, in violation of free speech everywhere (136). Facebook is a data-mining festival being monitored by the CIA that is literally run by Zionist thought police.

Why aren’t the important questions being asked? This was deception on a massive scale, and the links between Macmaster, the Zionist entity, Syria and Turkey at this particular moment in history are undeniable. They are not coincidental and they stick out like a peacock in a white room.

Why was Tom Macmaster allowed to operate a fraudulent profile on Zionist-owned Facebook, essentially keeping tabs on top personalities in the solidarity movement? Is Tom Macmaster an intelligence officer employed by the Zionist entity, the United States or is he an informant/asset of either/both? Indirectly of course, Macmaster is an asset of the Zionist-globalist agenda against Syria simply because of the hasbara he disseminated, but if in fact Macmaster was/is a paid intelligence agent, it raises a much more sinister question: how many more like Macmaster are out there? The answer could be tens, hundreds or even thousands, especially considering Israel operates a vast and hyperactive cyber warfare unit that employs thousands of agents (137). Lastly, if Macmaster was/is an intelligence asset, how much did the now-exposed two-faced Turkish government know about his activities? Was it assisting him? Protecting him? Are there others like Macmaster in Turkey?

Though these questions will most likely never be answered, what is clear is that the Zionist media will latch on to anything and everything that it can get its grimy tentacles on in its efforts to make Syria out to be a monster and justify a NATO invasion. What is also clear, is that activists must be careful, as Zionism’s agents lurk at every dark corner of the internet, which has become a battleground in the war of oppressed vs. oppressor.

Bashar al-Assad

represents 1/3 of the

‘Resistance Axis,’ all that

stands between Israel and

all-out domination of the

Middle East.

Conclusion: Long Live The Resistance

The Zionist entity and its coalition of devilish allies are just as relentless to topple Syria now as they were when the ‘Syrian Revolution’ first began in mid-March. And the ‘international community’ of warmongers and kleptocrats are raising the stakes. The International Criminal Court has issued an indictment for Bashar al-Assad for ‘murdering anti-government protesters (138).’ Was an investigation conducted? Of course not. Is there any evidence of such outrageous claims? No, not even a smidgen.

The US has imposed sanctions on Bashar al-Assad and six top officials in the Syrian government, a move that was condemned by Syria as ‘serving Israeli interests’ in the region (139). The EU, led by Zionist-dominated France, has imposed much more punishing sanctions, which have already taken effect on the everyday lives of Syria’s citizenry. The Assad government has lashed out at Europe and slammed its move as ‘economic warfare (140).’ France has openly pursued regime change in Syria with Saudi Arabia and the US since 2006 (141).

In addition to facing a Zionist-manipulated armed revolt on the homefront and sanctions hammering its economy from abroad, the Syrian government is being ripped to shreds in the Zionist media, which is now accusing Bashar al-Assad of being behind the Naksa Day protests in al-Jaulan on June 5th.  He is being accused of paying poor farmers in the village of Majdal Shams $1,000.00 apiece to rush the ‘border’ with the Zionist entity in hopes of taking international attention off of his brutality against ‘pro-democracy’ protesters.

The origin of this pathetic information blows its smokescreen away however and reveals it as sheer falsehood. It was produced by none other than the Reform Party of Syria, headed by Farid al-Ghadry, AIPAC member and Zionist agent who as aforementioned, has been at the core of fueling the unrest in Syria (142). When this information failed to materialize as believable, the Zionist media then magically produced a ‘Syrian government’ document that ‘confirmed’ another one of its lies from a month earlier, that Syria organized the protests on May 15th, Nakba Day. Under scrutiny, this crashes and burns too.

Thousands of

Syrians and Palestinians

gathered in Quneitra, Syria

to honor the martyrs of

Naksa Day.

The ‘Syrian government’ document was ‘obtained’ by Michael Weiss (143), the head of Just Journalism, a widely-known Zionist propaganda outlet that is rabidly anti-Islam, anti-Arab, anti-Resistance and openly dedicated to ‘defending’ Israel in the media and whitewashing Israeli crimes (144). Weiss and the rest of the propagandists in the Zionist media failed to mention that the Nakba Day protests were organized by solidarity activists and Palestinian refugee rights groups from Lebanon and occupied Palestine with no connection to any government. These same activists were involved in the June 5th Naksa Day events (145), which will now forever be remembered as the Naksa Day Massacre, as barbaric Israeli forces shot dead 23 Syrians and Palestinians, including a woman and a child, and wounded more than 350 other civilians for simply demanding Right of Return (146). Do not ever expect these truths to flow from the mouths of the likes of Farid al-Ghadry, Ammar Abdulhamid or Michael Weiss.

Zionism longs to

take control

of the Levantine natural

gas fields in Syria and

The Zionist regime and its allies are not in business to play checkers. Chess is the name of the game and the ‘rollback’ of Syria would only be step one in the greater scheme of things; greater as in Greater Israel. Behind the ‘kiss of democratic death’ to remove Bashar al-Assad and his Resistance government are two key Zionist goals: control of energy and domination of territory. Syria lies smack dab in the middle of two natural gas corridors that the hegemonic powers have had their eyes on for decades. The first unites Turkey and the Caspian Sea with Palestine and the Red Sea and the second unites (occupied) Iraq with the Mediterranean. Sitting within these corridors are massive natural gas fields off of the Levantine coastlines of Damascus and Beirut which Iran has offered Syria assistance in exploring and cultivating. If Bashar al-Assad is taken down, the Zionist entity and its Euro-American allies will step in and take over the Levantine energy project (147).

It is no secret that the Zionist entity’s goal has always been to extend its borders from the Egyptian Nile to the Iraqi Euphrates, ethnically cleansing everything in its path to make way for Greater Israel. Included in this sadistic project would be the confiscation of all of Syria and all of Lebanon (148). There are two obstacles standing in the way of the ultimate Zionist colonization project: Bashar al-Assad and the Lebanese Islamic Resistance movement, Hezbollah. If Bashar al-Assad and his government are defeated by the Zionist-Saudi-engineered uprising, the Lebanese Resistance will lose its only nation-state ally in the Arab world. Reports are already surfacing that Hezbollah is taking precautions against the fall of their ally by transferring missiles that are stored in secure caches in Syria across the border through camouflage to defend their weaponry from possible Israeli bombardment (149). Israeli-created, Qatari-funded Al-Jazeera has launched a full-scale propaganda campaign against hero, revolutionary and Hezbollah Secretary General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, labeling him a ‘hypocrite’ for standing in solidarity with Bashar al-Assad (150).

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah:

the righteous, dignified, courageous

leader of Hezbollah who

is hated and feared

by the Zionist entity

and Saudi Arabia.

This insidious slander against one of, if not the only righteous leader in the Arab world is designed to drive a wedge between human rights factions and solidarity groups, splinter social justice movements and fracture Resistance blocs so Zionism’s tentacles can pick up the pieces and put them back together in the warped fashion of its choice. Hezbollah is the only reason why there are not criminal Zionist extremists living in US-subsidized settlements on the Litani River. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is the only voice that thunders loud enough to strike fear into the hearts of the Zionist entity’s leaders, who know that the Sayyed does not lie and does not exaggerate. Hezbollah is the only group in the entire region to deliver a conclusive military defeat to the Israeli occupation army, and the Zionist regime has long sought revenge for its humiliation at the hands of the Lebanese Resistance. Bashar al-Assad has supported Hezbollah’s steadfastness in the face of every act of Zionist intransigence. He will not abandon Hezbollah and Hezbollah will not abandon Bashar al-Assad, and this infuriates Zionism to no avail.

Beyond Lebanon and Syria lies the grand prize that the Zionist entity longs to conquer, demolish and rebuild as a Zionist colony: the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Zionist-run mega-think tank known as the Brookings Institution has already laid out every possibility in ‘defeating’ Iran in a menacing policy study called ‘Which Path To Persia?’ This paper was written by a slew of influential Zionist policy makers including former ambassador to Israel and chief Zionist lobbyist Martin Indyk and former CIA analyst, Obama advisor and Zionist war criminal Bruce Riedel (151). Riedel frequently speaks at Israel’s Institute For National Security Studies in Tel Aviv and was the Zionist regime’s chief asset in the White House for Afghanistan policy (152). The Zionist-composed ‘Path to Persia’ paper speaks in-depth about Iranian influence over Syria and Hezbollah and discusses several options in eliminating this influence. The Brookings Institution has also published a recent paper that demands Bashar al-Assad step down and accept US-Israeli-mandated regime change immediately (153).

Greater Israel:

the ultimate Zionist

dream that would see

Syria and Lebanon

absorbed into an

‘Israeli empire.’

These are indeed grand plans, grand designs and grand plots for the Zionist entity to finally bring to fruition its supremacist fantasy of Greater Israel and what one-eyed war criminal and Zionist mass murderer Moshe Dayan called, ‘an Israeli empire (154).’ But what stands in the way of this hegemonic nightmare is the sincere, righteous Resistance that has kept the usurping Israeli entity from conquering Palestine despite 63 years of ethnic cleansing, massacres, mass murder, land theft, usurpation, assassinations, intimidation and demolitions. It has stopped Israel from turning Syria and Lebanon into Zionist colonies. It has stopped Israel from re-conquering the Sinai and it is firmly standing its ground in occupied Somalia and occupied Kashmir against the allies of Zionism.

The Zionist regime’s plans to take down Syria, Hezbollah and Iran will fail not only because the combined military might of these three powers are more awesome than Tel Aviv, London, Paris and Washington D.C. care to admit, but because these three powers have the backing of the people; the backing of the oppressed who would give their lives before bowing down to Western neo-colonial interests. Al-Jazeera’s vicious, degrading propaganda against Sayyed Nasrallah has been spat upon by the people of the region. Bashar al-Assad, as documented earlier, is receiving overwhelming support from the Syrian populace despite the ongoing Zionist-Saudi operation against his government. And Iran, despite thirty years of Zionist-British-American subversion against the Islamic Revolution, continues to flourish in defiance thanks to the backing of its people.

Israel’s ‘kiss of democratic death’ succeeded in bringing horrific chaos to Syria but it has failed in all other aspects. Al-Jumhuriyyah al-Arabiyyah as-Suriyyah will prevail today as it did yesterday under Bashar al-Assad’s late father, Hafez, in the face of the same Zionist tactics. Long live the Resistance, the almost ethereal force that has always served as a humbling reminder to oppressive powers. And in that spirit, may they be reminded again now: your reign, your games and your plots are as temporary as the night is dark.

Breaking News re: Zionist Murdoch

Breaking news: there’s going to be a vote in Parliament this Wednesday on Rupert Murdoch’s BSkyB power grab. [1]

Your MP will be weighing up how to vote. [2] Will they stand up for democracy and decent media standards? Or will they do what they’ve done far too many times in the past, and let Murdoch grab even more power?

If we work together, we can make sure enough MPs vote the right way this Wednesday. We can send our MPs a flood of messages, and make them realise their voters won’t stand for Rupert Murdoch getting even more control.

It’s quick and easy to email your MP, and it only takes 2 minutes. Get started here:

A vote by our MPs to halt the BSkyB deal would be a huge breakthrough. [3] The past week has seen appalling revelations of criminal and unethical activity by Murdoch papers. Now we have a chance to prove that Murdoch’s control over our democracy will no longer be tolerated.

It could be a very close vote. Rupert Murdoch knows that control of BSkyB would mean more cash and more power – so he’s desperate to win. He’s flown into London to start twisting arms. [4] Behind closed doors, his lobbyists and lawyers are springing into action. But if enough of us work together, we can outweigh their pressure.

Can you send your MP a quick message now? Find their name and email address here:

38 Degrees members helped secure this week’s vote. We’ve been challenging Murdoch’s plans since they were first announced in July 2010. In the past week we’ve sent over 150,000 messages to the government and to MPs demanding a halt whilst the latest scandal is investigated.[5] Bit by bit, we’re winning the argument that Murdoch should not be rewarded with more power.

When there’s a close vote like this in parliament, we know that we can work together to swing it the right way. We did it to save England’s forests. [6] We are doing it to protect the NHS. Now let’s make sure our MPs vote to clamp down on Rupert Murdoch and stand up for a better media and a better democracy.

The next 48 hours are crucial, so please email your MP now:

Thanks for getting involved,

David, Johnny, Becky, Hannah, Marie, Cian and the 38 Degrees team

Dear Friends,

This evening there is only a single item, ‘Today in Palestine.’  Apart from the newspaper Yediot Ahronot, that someone left on the seat, and part of which I read on the way to Haifa this morning, have not opened a single page.

Instead, spouse and I attended the final (presumably) session of the Rachel Corrie trial.  We remained for the entire prosecution questioning of the single witness (from noon till 5:00PM) but did not stay for the defense cross questioning. We’d both had enough.  I would imagine that so did the Corries, but of course they stayed on.

The single witness today was Col. Pinhas Zuaretz, who when Rachel was killed in 2003 was Commander of the Gaza Division Southern Brigade, the brigade involved in her death.  The bulldozer driver that killed Rachel was a reservist assigned to the unit.

From the first question that the prosecutor asked, the direction of the responses was clear.  The question was, “You of course value human life,” the response was “My soldier’s lives.”  After some slight prodding, Zuaretz agreed (rather than himself say) that yes he valued human life.  His response to this was much less a declaration (as was his initial response) than a grudging ‘yes.’

He throughout gave the feeling that he considered himself superior to the prosecutor (a Palestinian citizen of Israel), and to Palestinians in general.  Also, his responses made clear that even today when he is no longer in the military (albeit he is a vice-president of an American arms manufacturer, so is not entirely cut off from the military) that his soldiers came first, others didn’t count.  He, for instance, claimed that he would kill 10 innocent civilians to save the life of one soldier.  Again, he claimed that it is allowed to kill anyone who wanders into or comes into a ‘war zone,’ as was the Philadelphi line at the time that the bulldozer ran over her.  Thus the bulldozer driver was not, Zuaretz claimed, working.  He was at war.

And so on and so forth.

These sessions must be a terrible drain on the Corries.  I feel ashamed to admit that they are an emotional drain on me.

Anyhow, the result is that I just don’t want to read any more bad news tonight, other than what is published in ‘Today in Palestine.’  Several of the articles are ones that I have already sent out—perhaps you didn’t have time to read them.  Now you do. Besides there are other items that I have not distributed, for instance, a plan to have a flotilla of Palestinians returning to their homes.  That’s exciting.  We all know how Israel will react.  But then, as one article claims, “Anti Zionism is growing among Jews” (thanks to Abraham Weizfeld for calling attention to it.

Count your blessings.  Tomorrow is another day, albeit I won’t be much at the computer tomorrow either.  But will try to find a couple of hours to check out what is happening.   I will as a whole be cutting back somewhat (baring unexpected circumstances).  Have to begin preparing for presentations in the States in August and September.  Fortunately, my colleagues in New Profile will keep you up to date while I’m abroad for 6 weeks, as they also do even when I’m here.

All the best,

Today in Palestine

Iranian commander: US aircraft carriers target if Islamic Republic attacked

A senior Revolutionary Guard commander threatened Saturday that U.S. aircraft carriers would be targeted if Iran came under attack amid a standoff with the West over Tehran’s nuclear program.

Iran has often warned of major retaliation if they faced a military strike from Israel or the West, but the latest comments appear tailored to emphasize the expanding range of Iranian missiles following 10 days of war games. The exercises included unveiling underground missile silos that Iran says is capable of multiple launches.

“Aircraft carriers … are moving targets. If the enemy threatens us, we will target them,” said Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the commander of the Guard’s aerospace force, in comments broadcast on state TV.

Hajizadeh also confirmed that Iran secretly conducted missile tests earlier this year that he claimed hit targets at the “mouth of the Indian Ocean” — an apparent reference to areas near the Strait of Hormouz at the southern end of the Gulf.

Hajizadeh said two missiles with ranges of 1,140 miles (1,900 kilometers) were fired during the Iranian month of Bahman, from Jan. 21 to Feb 19, from Semnan province in northern Iran. He gave no further details, but at maximum range the missiles could have reached deep into the Arabian Sea.

In April, the commander of the Revolutionary Guard said Iran’s arsenal is capable of striking “remote regions outside the Persian Gulf.”

Iran says its longest-range missiles, Shahab-3 and Sajjil-2, can travel up to 1,240 miles (2,000 kilometers) — putting Israel, U.S. bases in the Gulf region and parts Europe within reach.

Meanwhile, Iran has tried to project its military might outside the Gulf, where the U.S. has several air bases and the home port of the Navy’s 5th Fleet in Bahrain.

Iran has said its missiles can reach Israel and U.S. military bases in the region. Two Iranian warships entered the Mediterranean in February for the first time since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and an Iranian submarine returned this week after a journey that included the Red Sea.

Hajizadeh also claimed that Iran has acquired technology to build supersonic surface-to-sea missiles. He didn’t elaborate, but defense analysts believe China has helped develop the anti-ship weapons.

Iran also says it has the ability to produce missiles with an even greater range than those currently in its arsenal, but won’t manufacture them because Israel and U.S. bases are already within reach.

Last month, British Foreign Secretary William Hague told the House of Commons that Iran has conducted covert tests of ballistic missiles since October in addition to the publicly announced military maneuvers.

Hajizadeh only confirmed that missile tests were carried out. It was not clear if the covert tests in February were the same as claimed by Hague.

The Islamic Republic remains locked in a standoff with the West over its nuclear program, which the U.S. and its allies suspect is aimed at developing atomic weapons. Iran denies the charges, and says the program is only for peaceful purposes.

Iran conducts several war games every year as part of its military self-sufficiency program that started in 1992, and frequently unveils new weapons and military systems during the drills.

Palestinian news agency offices set on fire in suspected arson

Maan News Agency editor-in-chief Nasser Laham decries firebomb attack as assault on ‘freedom of press in Palestine’.

Palestinian Maan News Agency says a firebomb was hurled at its Gaza City newsroom Sunday morning, setting off a small fire at the entrance to its offices.

There was no damage to the interior of the office and no one has thus far claimed responsibility for the blaze.

Maan editor-in-chief Nasser Laham decried the suspected arson as an assault on “freedom of the press in Palestine.”

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate called it “an attempt to silence the free press” and urged authorities to investigate the blaze.

Maan News Agency (MNA) was launched in 2005 and publishes online news in both Arabic and English. Its main offices are in Bethlehem and its sub-office is in Gaza City. It is part of the Maan Network, a non-profit media organization founded in 2002.

In addition to its website, the Maan network includes television, video and radio production, as well as training courses for Palestinian journalists and media personnel.

MNA focuses on Palestinian political, economic, cultural, and sports news from the West Bank and Gaza, as well as certain developments in Israel.

Critics of the Palestinian news source accuse it of being too sympathetic to the Palestinian Authority that is based in the West Bank.

Several months ago an explosive device was planted in front of the Gaza City office. Police in Hamas-ruled Gaza have investigated that attack, but nothing has emerged.

Secular activists: Police ignoring Haredi attacks on Jerusalem Sabbath traffic

Police maintain that they are ensuring that the main artery Neviim Street remains open to traffic on Saturdays.

Police are turning a blind eye to ultra-orthodox efforts to block traffic on a central Jerusalem street every Saturday, with hundreds of religious men often resorting to violence in a bid to prevent cars from desecrating Shabbat, secular activists reported on Sunday.

The ultra-orthodox activists have attempted to close off the street using dumpsters, and have been known to attack private cars trying to drive down the usually bustling road.

Neviim Street, a central Jerusalem road, is one of the most important avenues of transportation in the capital, particularly since the closure of Yaffo Road to traffic in recent years. Neviim also serves as a border between ultra-orthodox neighborhoods and the cultural and shopping center of the city.

As far as secular Jews living in Jerusalem are concerned, Neviim Street is a crucial route and closing it on Saturdays would be a significant inconvenience.

“Neviim Street is the last road you can still drive on in the center of town, and now they are trying to close it off, too,” said Eyal Ackerman, head of the Jerusalem Free Israel Movement that has been organizing protests against the ultra-orthodox in the past few weeks.

“They have decided to close off all of Neviim Street, this is their new goal” Ackerman added, saying “they throw bottles, rocks and bags of trash. They spit and hit cars.”
Ackerman related how this has happened to him, and the police did nothing to stop it.

Although the police have successfully prevented the total closure of Neviim Street, secular drivers have complained of ultra-orthodox zealots kicking, hitting and throwing bottles and their cars when they attempted to drive through the street.

The Jerusalem Police responded to the allegations that its forces have done little to prevent the vandalizing of cars and disruption of traffic on Saturdays, saying “several dozen ultra-orthodox men participated in Saturday’s protest, calling out against the desecration of the Sabbath.”

They denied allegations that police did not prevent the closing of Neviim Street, clarifying that the police were successful in keeping the boulevard open.

“After the demonstration dissipated,” the Jerusalem Police statement continued, “several ultra-orthodox men emerged from the Mea Shearim neighborhood [in Jerusalem] and began kicking a car that was driving through. The police arrived shortly after this, and pushed them back into their neighborhood.”

The statement also said, “During the demonstration several students arrived dressed as clowns and asked if they could protest as well. The police successfully separated between the two sides.”
