Karzai calls Pakistan rocket assault as baseless rumor

President Hamid Karzai rejected the reports of rocket attacks from Pakistan soil and called them as baseless rumors.

“We should prosecute probe the reports we receive and should not damage our relationship with the neighboring countries by accepting baseless reports,” Karzai responded Veterans to day reporter.

Speaking at a joint news conference with German President, Christian Wulff, emphasized that his government’s information show that all the reports about the rocket attacks from Pakistan are baseless.

“If we see our territorial integrity is in danger, we do take practical steps for the prevention,” Karzai said.

He asked the national media to get confidence about the rocket attacks from Pakistan soil and then share it with people.

Also German President Wulff said that Pakistan in Istanbul conference would be asked to guarantee for not violating Afghan territorial integrity.

10 REASONS NOT TO HONOR ISRAHELL

NOVANEWS
by crescentandcross

BY MAHMOUD EL-YOUSSEPH & TAMMY OBEIDALLAH

October 15, 2011

This list was compiled in order to dispel the hate propaganda and blatant lies Christians United for Israel (CUFI) is being allowed to spew at Van Buren High School near Findlay, Ohio on October 27, 2011 where they will hold “A Night to Honor Israel.” This is being repeated at other schools across our country.

If CUFI was simply having a convention of their apocalyptic ignoramuses and blind bigots at a church or synagogue, we would not waste our time trying to educate those determined to remain fools. If CUFI were holding a meeting with our congressmen/women or senators, we would not bother to counter, as our representatives are already deep within the pockets of Israeli-interest lobbies. However, CUFI has crossed a red line when invading our public school system to poison the minds of our innocent youth.

While this event is being held after school hours, it is still being promoted in among the student body, as Van Buren Superintendent Tim Myers confided he is considering distributing “educational material” given to him by CUFI, to all students. CUFI is charging $15 per adult and $10 per student to attend, therefore common sense would dictate this event is being promoted by the school system.

There are people who believe this country is too far gone to be salvaged and there is certainly merit to that sentiment. But we are not ready to surrender our children to a false prophet and be subjected to false teachings, both religious and historical. We refuse to have them be converted into more mindless minions who would readily partake in genocide for the Zionist entity which is their god.

Here are just 10 out of the myriad reasons NOT to honor Israel and why a “Christian” group in support of such an immoral state is the epitome of hypocrisy:

10 Reasons Not To Honor Israel

1- On June 8, 1967, Israeli air and naval forces suddenly and brutally attacked the USS Liberty, a US naval intelligence ship flying a large Old Glory in international waters on a clear summer day. Thirty-four American sailors were killed in the attack and another 174 were wounded.

2- In 2003 U.S. citizen and peace activist Rachel Corrie was run down with a bulldozer by an Israeli Occupation soldier while she was attempting to prevent a home demolition. The soldier was never charged with her death.

3- In 2010, Israeli commandos kidnapped Ken O’Keefe, a former US Marine who survived the Israeli attack on the Turkish aid ship, MV Mavi Marmara which was bound for Gaza and sailing in international waters. It was during this same attack that 19 year-old American citizen Furkhan Dogan was shot multiple times at close range by Israeli forces.  He was killed.

4- In 2009 Israel kidnapped and jailed former US Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, along with 20 other noted peace activists. They were taken from aboard Spirit of Humanity, a ship carrying medical supplies, cement, olive trees and children’s toys to Gaza after the Israeli invasion in December 2008-January 2009. Nearly 1,500 people—mostly civilians—were killed with another 10,000 wounded. Damaged or destroyed were 50,000 homes, 800 industrial properties, 200 schools, 39 mosques and two churches. The supplies were confiscated by the Israeli navy.

5- Out of over 700 General Assembly resolutions passed since the UN’s 1945 establishment, nearly 450 condemn Israel. None have been passed against any Arab country. In other words, out of 193 nations in the UN, over 60% of all General Assembly resolutions condemned just ONE member:  Israel!

6- Israel recently shunned a US president by refusing a settlement-freeze offer on stolen Palestinian land in return for a 10 billion dollar incentive (bribe.)

7- Israel is the only Middle Eastern country where sodomy is not a crime nor punishable. Israel also allows abortion, has a “tramp tax” for prostitutes, an increasing rate of cohabitation and premarital sex, acceptance of party life and heavy drinking, immodest clothing, etc. Israeli media portrays Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) as a bastard and Mary as a whore. Why does Christians United for Israel prefer to be associated with a country whose hedonism rivals Sodom and Gomorrah?

8- Israel has for a long time engaged in espionage on the US and stolen our top secrets, selling them to our enemies, thereby damaging our national security.

9 – Israel has imposed collective punishment against Palestinians by kidnapping, maintaining a siege, land theft, home demolitions, “target assassinations,” midnight raids, indefinite imprisonments and uprooting olive trees.

10- It has been documented in both Palestinian and Israeli media and in court proceedings that Israeli Occupation Forces are operating a Palestinian butchery at Abu Kabir in Tel Aviv. Israeli forces routinely kidnap Palestinians at checkpoints, raids, hospital wards or exhume them from cemeteries in order to harvest their organs for profit inside and out Israel, all without the family’s knowledge.

Congress Watch: A Conservative Estimate of Total U.S. Aid To IsraHell: More Than $123 Billion

NOVANEWS

A Conservative Estimate of Total U.S. Aid To Israel: More Than $123 Billion

By Shirl McArthur

Picture 7

The current estimate by the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs of cumulative total U.S. direct aid to Israel is $123.202 billion, updating the figure in our November 2008 issue. Because parts of U.S. aid to Israel are buried in the budgets of various U.S. agencies or in a form not easily quantified—such as the early disbursement of aid, giving Israel a direct benefit of interest income and the U.S. Treasury a corresponding loss—it is virtually impossible to arrive at an exact dollar amount.

Our latest estimate is a conservative, defensible accounting of U.S. direct aid to Israel. It does not include the indirect benefits to Israel resulting from U.S. aid, nor the substantial indirect or consequential cost to the U.S. as a result of its blind support for Israel. Most significantly, perhaps, it does not include the costs resulting from the U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq—hundreds of billions of dollars, thousands of U.S. and allied casualties, and untold tens of thousands of Iraqi killed and wounded—which is widely believed in the Arab world, and by many Americans as well, to have been undertaken for the benefit of Israel.

Among the real benefits to Israel that are not counted as a direct cost to the U.S. taxpayer is the provision allowing Israel to spend 26.3 percent of each year’s military aid in Israel rather than from American companies (no other recipient of U.S. military aid gets this benefit), which has resulted in an increasingly sophisticated Israeli defense industry. As a result, according to the Congressional Research Service (CRS), between 2001 and 2008 Israel was the seventh-largest arms exporter to the world, with total sales of $9.9 billion. Also in contrast with other countries receiving U.S. military aid, who must purchase through the Department of Defense (DOD), Israel deals directly with the U.S. companies, with no DOD review.

Loan Guarantees

Another indirect benefit to Israel is the loan guarantees that Washington has extended to Israel since 1972. While these have not yet cost the U.S., they have enabled Israel to borrow from commercial sources at more favorable terms and lower interest rates, since the U.S. guarantees payment of the loans should Israel default.

Most recently, the FY ’03 war supplemental appropriations act authorized $9 billion in loan guarantees to Israel over three years. In FY ’05 these were extended until FY ’07, and in ’06 they were extended again through FY ’11, with a “carryover” provision that Israel may draw on unused U.S. guarantees through FY ’12. CRS reported that Israel has not borrowed any funds against these guarantees since FY ’05, speculating that it perhaps views the guarantees as a “last resort” option should their normal source of funds—unguaranteed local and international bond issuances—become too expensive.

Subsidies for Israel’s Illegal Colonists And Colonies

A real benefit to Israel that represents another indirect, but unquantifiable, cost to the U.S. taxpayer is the private, tax-exempt money collected by charitable American Jewish groups and then sent to support Israel’s colonists (“settlers”) and colony-related causes in occupied Palestinian territories, including by groups designated by the U.S. as foreign terrorist organizations (see November 2007 Washington Report, p. 30).

In July 2010, The New York Times published a lengthy article on these “charities,” reporting that hundreds of millions of dollars have flowed to settlers and settlement-related causes, including to support settler extremists in Hebron and East Jerusalem. While most of the money appears to have gone to purposes that are legal under U.S. laws, theTimes reported, it added that these funds have “also paid for more legally questionable commodities: housing as well as guard dogs, bulletproof vests, rifle scopes and vehicles to secure outposts deep in occupied areas.”

Since every tax-exempt dollar that goes to the colonies represents a loss of, conservatively, 20 cents to the U.S. Treasury, that means that the U.S. taxpayer has indirectly subsidized Israel’s illegal colonies to the tune of tens of millions of dollars, or more.

Components of Israel Aid

Picture 8

As with previous Washington Report estimates of U.S. aid to Israel, this report draws largely from CRS’ latest report on “U.S. Foreign Aid to Israel,” which uses available and verifiable numbers, primarily from the foreign operations appropriations bills. Table 1 on the facing page is based on the appendix to that report plus this magazine’s reporting and research, especially for the columns showing DOD funds and interest income to Israel resulting from the early disbursement of aid.

Not counting the huge sums being spent in Iraq and Afghanistan over the past decade, Israel is the largest cumulative recipient of U.S. aid since World War II. The $3 billion or so per year that Israel receives from the U.S. amounts to about $500 per Israeli. The largest amounts have been military grants (Foreign Military Financing, or FMF) and economic grants (Economic Support Funds, or ESF). In August 2007 the U.S. and Israel agreed on a new, 10-year aid plan, beginning in FY ’09 and calling for no ESF and incremental annual increases in FMF, reaching $3 billion by FY ’11 and remaining at that level through FY ’18.

Another ongoing item is so-called “migration and refugee assistance.” This originally was intended to help Israel absorb Jewish refugees from the Soviet Union, but was expanded in 1985 to include “refugees resettling in Israel.” In fact, however, Israel doesn’t differentiate between refugees and other immigrants, so this money subsidizes all immigrants to Israel.

Israel also receives regular grants from the “American Schools and Hospitals Abroad” (ASHA) program.

A significant amount of aid to Israel comes from the DOD budget for so-called “joint defense projects”—although to date the Pentagon has shown little interest in these projects for its own use. Previous Washington Report estimates identified about $7.694 billion to Israel from the DOD budget through FY ’08. To that has been added amounts for FYs ’09, ’10 and ’11, as shown in Table 1. Of the $415 million shown for FY ’11, the most significant amount is the $205 million appropriated to support Israel’s “Iron Dome” short-range missile defense system.

A significant part of U.S. support for Israel’s defense program is the deployment to Israel in 2008 of the X-Band radar system to detect incoming missiles. Since this system is U.S.-owned and -operated (meaning the constant presence on Israeli soil of U.S. troops and defense contractors), its costs are not reflected in these numbers.

Table 1 also shows a conservative estimate of Israel’s interest income resulting from the early disbursement of U.S. aid. Assuming that Israel’s aid money is drawn down over the course of each year, a 2 percent interest rate is applied to one-half of the aid for FY ’09 and ’10, and a 3 percent rate for FY ’11.

The “All Other” column on Table 1 reflects information from the CRS report, plus this magazine’s reporting and research, giving amounts from other U.S. departments and agencies. Our 2006 report uncovered $456.7 million in previously unreported grants and endowments, mostly to U.S.-Israeli scientific organizations. The two largest are the BIRD Foundation (research and development) and the BARD Fund (agricultural research). The BARD Fund gets about $500,000 a year from the Agriculture Department. In addition, in each of FY ’09 and ’10, Congress appropriated $2 million from the Energy Department for the U.S.-Israeli Energy Cooperation Program, and in FY ’10 the Energy Department announced that it would contribute $3.3 million to the BIRD Foundation for clean energy projects.

For those who wish to look up more details, Table 2 above gives citations for the foreign aid and DOD appropriations bills for the past five years.

United States needs to reevaluate its assistance to IsraHell

NOVANEWS

By ,

As the country reviews its spending on defense and foreign assistance, it is time to examine the funding the United States provides to Israel.

Let me put it another way: Nine days ago, the Israeli cabinet reacted to months of demonstrations against the high cost of living there and agreed to raise taxes on corporations and people with high incomes ($130,000 a year). It also approved cutting more than $850 million, or about 5 percent, from its roughly $16 billion defense budget in each of the next two years.

If Israel can reduce its defense spending because of its domestic economic problems, shouldn’t the United States — which must cut military costs because of its major budget deficit — consider reducing its aid to Israel?

First, a review of what the American taxpayer provides to Israel.

In late March 2003, just days after the invasion of Iraq, President George W. Bush requested the approval of $4.7 billion in military assistance for more than 20 countries that had contributed to the conflict or the broader fight against terrorism. Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkey were on that list.

A major share of the money, $1 billion, went to Israel, “on top of the $2.7 billion regular fiscal year 2003 assistance and $9 billion in economic loans guaranteed by the U.S. government over the next three years,” according to a 2003 study by the Congressional Research Service (CRS).

Then in 2007, the Bush administration worked out an agreement to raise the annual military aid grant, which had grown to $2.5 billion, incrementally over the next 10 years. This year, it has reached just over $3 billion. That is almost half of all such military assistance that Washington gives out each year and represents about 18 percent of the Israeli defense budget.

In addition, the military funding for Israel is handled differently than it is for other countries. Israel’s $3 billion is put almost immediately into an interest-bearing account with the Federal Reserve Bank. The interest, collected by Israel on its military aid balance, is used to pay down debt from earlier Israeli non-guaranteed loans from the United States.

Another unique aspect of the assistance package is that about 25 percent of it can be used to buy arms from Israeli companies. No other country has that privilege, according to a September 2010 CRS report.

The U.S. purchases subsidize the Israeli arms business, but Washington maintains a veto over sales of Israeli weapons that may contain U.S. technology.

Look for a minute at the bizarre formula that has become an element of U.S.-Israel military aid, the so-called qualitative military edge (QME). Enshrined in congressional legislation, it requires certification that any proposed arms sale to any other country in the Middle East “will not adversely affect Israel’s qualitative military edge over military threats to Israel.”

In 2009 meetings with defense officials in Israel, Undersecretary of State Ellen Tauscher “reiterated the United States’ strong commitment” to the formula and “expressed appreciation” for Israel’s willingness to work with newly created “QME working groups,” according to a cable of her meetings that was released by WikiLeaks.

The formula has an obvious problem. Because some neighboring countries, such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt, are U.S. allies but also considered threats by Israel, arms provided to them automatically mean that better weapons must go to Israel. The result is a U.S.-generated arms race.

For example, the threat to both countries from Iran led the Saudis in 2010 to begin negotiations to purchase advanced F-15 fighters. In turn, Israel — using $2.75 billion in American military assistance — has been allowed to buy 20 of the new F-35 fifth-generation stealth fighters being developed by the United States and eight other nations.

Another military program, called U.S. War Reserves Stocks for Allies, begun in the 1980s, allows the United States to store arms and equipment on Israeli bases for use in wartime. In the 1990s, the arrangement was expanded to allow Israel to use the weapons, but only with U.S. permission. During the 2006 war against Hezbollah in Lebanon, the United States gave permission for Israel to use stored cluster artillery shells to counter rocket attacks. The use drew international complaints because the rockets struck civilian rather than military areas.

The initial limit was $100 million worth of stored missiles, armored vehicles and artillery munitions, but that has increased over time. It reached $800 million in 2010, $1 billion this year and by 2012, it is expected to grow to $1.2 billion.

Since the mid-1990s, the United States and Israel have been co-developing missile defense systems designed to meet threats from short-range rockets as well as longer-range ballistic missiles. All of the systems involved have gained support from Congress, which frequently earmarks additional funding for Israeli weaponry.

For example, the House and the Senate added $129.6 million to the $106.1 million the Obama administration had in the fiscal 2012 budget for these programs. In the 2011 bill, Congress added $205 million for the Iron Dome system, which defends against short-range rockets and mortars. That was on top of $200 million the administration sought for the U.S. contribution to other cooperative missile-defense systems.

Among reductions now being discussed in Israel is a delay in purchasing more Iron Dome systems beyond those to be paid for by the United States’ $205 million. In addition, the Israeli military may freeze its spending on other missile defense systems, the very ones for which Congress approved additional funding this year.

The question for the Obama administration, Congress and, in the end, perhaps the American public, is: Given present economic problems, should the United States supply the money to make up for reductions the Israelis are making in their own defense budget?

The Soros Connection . . .

NOVANEWS

As I write Gaddafi is winning in N. Africa , the rebels are continuing to lose ground. But here at home another problem is brewing, namely Occupy Wall Street the financiers would like to alter our Constitutional Republic. (see back issues)

I always like to prove what I say about connections between the so called ‘elite’. So let’s start off with George Soros.

George Soros – Obama’s Boss – America’s Communist Leader – Commie Tunes 13

Here is the   Open Society Foundation website. Under initiatives/ U.S. Programs, there are a lot of articles that are heart warming, such as this one Soros Pledges $30 Billion to Transform the Lives of NYC’s Most Vulnerable Black and Latin Boys . Everyone deserves a chance in school, and it is nearly mandatory for children below high school. The article goes on to say, “In addition to support from the Open Society Foundations, the Young Men’s Initiative will receive $67.5 million in city funding” and this of coarse is twice the funding by but tax payers. From the website it implies that this is mixed education and includes college, for it says “Fewer than half of all African American boys finish high school and a mere 18 percent of black males aged 18 to 21 are enrolled in college”. That is all well and good if jobs can be found for these youths after going to school or college, otherwise ‘high hopes’ will turn to anger. Later we will see other funding by Soros that is counter productive.

As you search George Soros’s website note that his African projects deal with women and their rights. In the American projects he is being discriminatory towards young white males young, Asian males, and women. There is little doubt he is using his money to foment revolution around the globe. He is spending a lot of money for writers to spin the ‘real truth’. As with all communist revolutions, the educated are used to spread information and later will be eliminated.

Here is MoveOn.org along the right hand side it is obvious they are heavily involved with Occupy Wall Street. How about his connections with MoveOn.org? I hate to use wikipedia and there are several other links if you do a search for “MoveOn and Soros” . Be that as it may, here is George Soros . In the first paragraph you can see he was a Board Member of Council on Foreign Relations. We will go there next. Further below under Political Donations and Activism/ United States you can see where he donated $ 2.5 Million to MoveOn.org. The big donor of his is America Coming Together to the tune of $20 Million to endorse democratic candidates. How many of these politicians are sending jobs off shore? Isn’t that counter productive to other funding by Soros to educate the black and Latino boys?

On to the Council on Foreign Relations. On the front of the website is an article Occupy Wall Street’s Global Echo . “The Occupy Wall Street protests that began in New York City a month ago gained worldwide momentum over the weekend, as hundreds of thousands of demonstrators in nine hundred cities protested corporate greed and wealth inequality.”

But the question is . . . is Soros a member? Yes he is. Going through their list of membership, A-Z is a trip through Alice-in-wonder-land. This rabbit hole goes very deep. There are many PNAC members on this list. You will find about half of PNAC are members. Isn’t it odd that Occupy Wall Street doesn’t complain about this 1%?
