Grab a Pen Mr. Gingrich, it’s Time for your History Lesson

“How did America end up in that humiliating situation, where its presidential frontrunners are but a bunch of clowns who are always willing to dance to Israel’s favorite tune?”

“The Israelite history is invented and therefore the Zionists could have settled somewhere else than Palestine, Uganda for example, as Herzl had proposed at the Sixth Zionist Congress”

Dr. Ashraf Ezzat

The United States for Israel

It’s elections time ladies and gentlemen once again. It is the presidential candidates’ time to line up and take part in Israel lovefest.

It’s time for Zionist-funded electoral campaigns and solid promises to do the utmost and maybe the impossible for the “United States for Israel”.

The 2012 White House elections has unleashed a fierce race amongst the presidential hopefuls- who come this year in all colors, sizes and IQs- to kiss ass and suck up to the Israeli lobbies in the land of the free and home of the brave.

Sleeping with the enemy

And since all the candidates have consumed almost all the usual tricks to tout their own “do for Israel” credentials starting from accusing the Palestinians of hindering the peace process and denying Israel’s right to exist …. Right down to calling them terrorists, the republican White House hopeful, Newt Gingrich has found himself in a position where he has to come up with a brand new trick that would enhance his approval rating in the race to the white house.

Being an expert on solutions for winning the future, Gingrich didn’t waste much time and decided to not only do the utmost but also the impossible for Israel’s sake by calling the Palestinians an invented” people who could have voluntarily evacuated their homeland and chose to live elsewhere.

Newt Gingrich

While I could conceal my annoyance over Gingrich’s outrageous and deceitful statement, which lacks both the minimum historical awareness and political wisdom I find myself unable to hide my disgust of his disgraceful conduct.

Mr. Gingrich as a presidential hopeful and a longtime politician is supposed to be, in a way, representing the mainstream American diplomacy when he speaks to the foreign media- unless the Jewish channel is not considered that.

And if he as a person was not embarrassed to openly brownnose Israel in that unprecedented and degrading manner, then he should have uttered those nonsense comments in a less public session, like at his country club and amongst his circle of Zionist financiers of his campaign who certainly would have been ecstatic to hear him ranting that way.

But for him to publicize this hate speech in a televised interview and furthermore repeat it during the presidential debates is an affront to the whole American diplomacy and a dangerous indication for a paradigm shift of that diplomacy in the Middle East.

Who allowed this plumpy Gingrich to act as Israel’s advocate while ironically running for the presidency of the United States? Who told him that he can put on his racist mask, erase decades of peace brokering, albeit not entirely successful, and start messing up the politics of one of the most volatile places on earth while hallucinating about its documented ancient history?

The Arabs and the Palestinians, whom he likes to see invented and therefore movable or even invisible, will not take his statement as a twisted attitude of some republican candidate but another proof of the American flagrant biased policy in the Middle East.

The last thing the United States needs right now as its troops are pulling out of the Iraqi swamp and being kicked out of the Afghan-Pakistan Death Valley is another (needless)stir of the anti-American sentiments in that part of the world.

Only Mr. Gingrich doesn’t think so. Appearing in his debates foolishly standing by his offensive remarks and apparently drunk with the encouraging feedback he gets from his Israeli friends, this former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives irresponsibly insists on sketching the landscape for the most dreadful political forecast in the Middle East.

It is ironic to see the millions of patriotic Americans rallying on the streets and literally occupying the country in protest over what they called the corporate greed and at the same time we find candidates like Gingrich so sick and blinded with greed they can’t feel the danger nor the shame in sleeping in the same bed with the real enemy.

How did America end up in that humiliating situation, where its presidential frontrunners are but a bunch of clowns who are always willing to dance to Israel’s favorite tune?

I take a look at all the 2012 presidential hopefuls and I fail to find any hope in them as they frantically compete with each other to suck up to Israel as if the American presidential polls will be held in Tel Aviv.

Mr. Gingrich has every right to brownnose, kiss ass and suck up to whomever he likes, he has the right to relinquish his national identity and pride … but he has no right to strip the Palestinians of that pride and identity while doing so.

Obviously, for someone that historically ignorant, Mr. Gingrich must have been tipped by one of his aides that what really troubled Israel recently is the release of Shlomo Sand’s bestseller book “The invention of the Jewish people”

Let’s talk history, history will tell who was invented.

Shlomo Sand

In that book, Prof. Sand attempts to prove that the Jews now living in Israel and other places in the world are not at all descendants of the ancient people who inhabited the land of the philistines in the late Bronze Age.

Prof. Sand is saying that the nowadays Jews who have been immigrating since over a century now to the land of Palestine are but varied peoples that converted to Judaism during the course of history in different corners of Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean Basin and the adjacent regions like in Yemen and Iraq.

According to Sand, the description of the Jews as a wandering and self-isolating nation of exiles, who wandered across seas and continents, reached the ends of the earth and finally, with the advent of Zionism, made a U-turn and returned en masse to their orphaned homeland is nothing but “national mythology.” And therefore the Jewish people, historically speaking and as Mr. Gingrich likes to call it, is invented.

But since Mr. Gingrich likes to see his ranting about the Palestinians as factually correct history …then maybe we should do it his way and talk history…only this time let’s do it right, but first I would like to introduce Professor Ze`ev Herzog to Mr. Gingrich.

Prof. Ze`ev Herzog

Prof. Ze’ev Herzog teaches in the Department of Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Studies at Tel Aviv University. He took part in the excavations of Hazor and Megiddo with Yigael Yadin and in the digs at Tel Arad and Tel Be’er Sheva with Yohanan Aharoni. He has conducted digs at Tel Michal and Tel Gerisa and has recently begun digging at Tel Yaffo. He is the author of books on the city gate in Palestine and its neighbors and on two excavations, and has written a book summing up the archaeology of the ancient city.

Prof. Herzog belongs to the modern generation of Israeli academic archeologists who have been digging, in a truly scientific approach, all over the land of Palestine ever since the establishment of the state of Israel but more extensively after 1967, in an attempt to reach some sort of a historical proof that would legitimatize the ancient Israelite story and therefore could back up and maybe make sense of the current Zionist land grab of Palestine.

After decades of extensive and arduous archeological excavations and search, Prof. Herzog and many other Israeli archeologists such as Prof. Israel Finkelstein et al reached a robust conclusion that somehow resembled Prof. Sand’s thesis of the invention of the Jewish people. only in addition, they concluded that the greatest chunk of the Israelite story according to the Bible is a mere myth – the interesting parts of it copied out from both the Mesopotamian and the Egyptian mythologies and the remaining tedious details are just tribal narrative invented by the minds of the Hebrew scribes of the old testament.

Archeology and history of Palestine “Right or Albright”

Captivated Philistines (or the sea people) depicted on the walls of Ramses III temple

Apart from the Bible, the first mention in history of the Philistines dates back to the late Bronze Age 1150-1200 BCE. They are unmistakably mentioned in Egyptian texts as detailed in the inscriptions on the walls of Medinet Habu, the majestic temple of king Ramses III that documented the war with the Sea Peoples, the philistines is one of them, who inhabited the coastal land from Phoenicia down to Egypt. And the philistines appear once again in the work of the Greek historian Herodotus in the middle of the 5th century BCE.

The archaeology of Palestine developed as a science at a relatively late date, in the late 19th and early 20th century.

The main push behind archaeological research in Palestine was the country’s relationship with the Holy Scriptures. The first excavators in Palestine were biblical researchers who were looking for the remains of the cities cited in the Bible.

Archaeology assumed momentum with the activity of William Foxwell Albright, who was convinced that if the ancient remains of Palestine were uncovered, they would furnish unequivocal proof of the historical truth of the events relating to the Jewish people in its land.  But it didn’t take long before “the spade and the Bible” school of Albright proved not right.

The biblical archaeology that developed following Albright and his pupils brought about a series of extensive digs at the important biblical tells: Megiddo, Lachish, Gezer, Shechem (Nablus), Jericho, Jerusalem, Ai, Giveon, Beit She’an, Beit Shemesh, Hazor, Ta’anach and others. The way was supposed to be straight and clear: every new finding should contribute to the building of a harmonious picture of the past.

Slowly, cracks began to appear in the picture. Paradoxically, a situation was created in which the glut of findings began to undermine the historical credibility of the biblical descriptions instead of reinforcing them.

The explanations became ponderous and the picture inelegant as the pieces didn’t fit together smoothly.

Here is a summary by Prof. Herzog, from his famous article “deconstructing the walls of Jericho” published in Ha’aretz Magazine, Friday, October 29, 1999 that explains why the harmonious picture of the historicity of the Promised Land collapsed.

Following 70 years of intensive excavations in the Land of Israel, archaeologists have found out: The patriarchs’ acts are legendary stories, we did not sojourn in Egypt or make an exodus, we did not conquer the land. Neither is there any mention of the empire of David and Solomon. Those who take an interest have known these facts for years, but Israel is a stubborn people and doesn’t want to hear about it

This is what archaeologists have learned from their excavations in the Land of Israel: the Israelites were never in Egypt, did not wander in the desert, did not conquer the land in a military campaign and did not pass it on to the 12 tribes of Israel. Perhaps even harder to swallow is that the united monarchy of David and Solomon, which is described by the Bible as a regional power, was at most a small tribal territory. And it will come as an unpleasant shock to many that the God of Israel, YHWH, had a female consort and that the early Israelite religion adopted monotheism only in the waning period of the monarchy and not at Mount Sinai.

Most of those who are engaged in scientific work in the interlocking spheres of the Bible, archaeology and the history of the Jewish people—and who once went into the field looking for proof to corroborate the Bible story—now agree that the historic events relating to the stages of the Jewish people’s emergence are radically different from what that story tells.

Palestinian family from Ramalla 1900-1910

In other words, the Israelite history is invented and therefore the Zionists could have settled somewhere else than Palestine, Uganda for example, as Herzl had proposed at the Sixth Zionist Congress at Basel on August 26, 1903.

Indeed Mr. Gingrich, The British Uganda would have been a wiser choice and a better place to accommodate the influx of Jewish immigrants … it would have saved the Palestinians the unnecessary massacres and the ongoing ethnic cleansing, but most importantly it would have saved us the aggravation of listening to your pathetic tampering with the history of Palestine.

Class dismissed.

Europe in Disarray

by Stephen Lendman

Europe’s underpinnings can only hold so long. Years of entrapment under euro straightjacket rules means eventual dissolution and collapse.

Throwing more money at out-of-control debt problems buys delay only. Instead of swallowing painful solutions, EU leaders keep repeating the same mistakes, heading dire conditions to catastrophic ones.

In fact, reactions to last week’s summit were decidedly negative. On December 14, the Financial Times (FT) headlined, “Doubts about eurozone fiscal deal grow,” saying:

The euro selloff against the dollar “showed the strain of efforts to force through austerity policies and impose tough new spending rules.”

Moreover, concerns emerged among at least four non-euro countries over whether legal considerations would force them to join Britain and opt out.

Czech Republic Prime Minister called the Brussels deal little “more than a blank sheet of paper….I think that it would be politically short-sighted to come out with strong statements that we should sign that piece of paper.”

Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny said a referendum at this stage would fail. An unnamed Brussels diplomat wants “some clarity on what this treaty might include. There are so many unanswered questions,” he added.

In fact, there’s lots more troubling than he explained. Moreover, nothing from Brussels augurs well for working households across Europe. More on that below.

Nonetheless, other countries also expressed concerns, including Hungary and Sweden, saying they won’t relinquish control of their corporate tax policy. What about their people policy? Only harder than ever hard times are planned.

Italy’s opposition Northern League expressed strong disapproval of a deal they called a “holdup,” not a budget.

Munich’s Ifo think tank cut its 2012 German GDP forecast, saying:

“The dependency of economic developments on the decisions made by Europe’s politicians complicates the forecast considerably by making radically different plausible scenarios possible.”

In other words, bad decisions assure bad results. At issue only is how bad at a time weak Eurozone countries are heading south, and nothing’s being done to stop it.

Greece looks vulnerable to bankruptcy, exiting the Eurozone, and devaluing its currency massively. Signs point clearly in those directions. In the past year alone, capital flight lost 40 billion in deposits, equal to 17% of GDP.

In fact, over 30% of it exited in September and October alone, signaling lots more to come. Troubled Greece is Europe’s canary in its coal mine. Its economies aren’t close to resolving enormous debt, growth, and other structural problems.

They’re getting worse, not better. Expect 2012 to show bad conditions deteriorating. The short, intermediate and longer-term outlooks look dire.

On December 14, FT writer Ajay Makan headlined, “Dive in deposits at foreign-owned banks in US,” saying:

“Foreign-owned banks (in America) suffered their largest six month fall in deposits on record.” Analysts call it a “flight to safety.”

Deposits fell $291 billion, or 25%, from end of May to December 1. US banks benefitted. Whether the trend continues bears watching. Clearly, it shows heightened European risks, and what happens there spreads globally.

On December 13, FT’s Martin Wolf headlined, “A disastrous failure at the summit,” saying:

“Whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad. That was my reaction” to last week’s summit. EU leaders failed “to devise a credible remedy for the ills of the currency union.”

Instead of focusing on economic growth, they proposed “tighten(ing) the screws on fiscal deviants” when stimulus is needed.

What Germany’s Merkel and France’s Sarkozy called a “stability and growth union,” Wolf describes as “instability and stagnation.”

In fact, few details emerged in Brussels, except to say “general government budget deficits shall be balanced or in surplus: this principle shall be deemed respected if, as a rule, the annual structural deficit does not exceed 0.5% of (GDP.)”

Second, “such a rule will also be introduced in member states’….legal systems. The rule will contain an automatic correction mechanism that shall be triggered in the event of deviation.”

In other words, fines, sanctions, and/or other measures will be imposed – supposedly. However, doing so depends on most member states agreeing. Wolf said he’s “unconvinced that turkeys will vote for Christmas.”

They haven’t before and won’t now let unelected bureaucrats impose harmful measures. So “(w)hat is the (European) Commission going to do if they still fail to comply? Take them over? The answer (supposedly) is: yes. This is a constitutional monstrosity.”

It’s also an economic one driving nails into a failed system. Hammering weak economies with fiscal austerity assures weaker ones heading for implosion.

Nonetheless, Wolf sees Europe adopting an “orgy of fiscal austerity” besides much more already imposed. As a result, expect deeply troubled countries to face “long-term structural recessions,” or to “put it bluntly,” he says: “the single currency will come to stand for wage falls, debt deflation, and prolonged economic slumps.”

Wolf didn’t explain that working households across Europe, America, and elsewhere suffer most to assure bankers are paid, instead of holding these bandits accountable for the crisis they created, nationalizing insolvent ones, or shutting them down altogether.

The Daily Bell’s Negative Outlook

Given numerous failed summits and destructive policies overall, the Daily Bell asked if planned euro collapse is planned. “The chaos is as undeniable as it is undesirable,” it says.

EU and other Western nations support “the idea that increased centralization and globalization are necessary in the modern world.”

The notion is wrongheaded and destructive, but their agenda plans world government down the road. What’s in play now perhaps is part of this larger trend. Strategically they hope creative destruction can produce order on a grander scale.

“The EU – and its euro – is failing. The Anglosphere elite that set it up in the first place will either try to salvage it as it is or will use the chaos from the breakup to pursue its goal of a more perfect global union.”

“It is as likely, in our humble view, to founder entirely as it is to continue as an organized political entity.” As a result, global power brokers will fail, not succeed. Chaos is very risky strategy. Instead of order, collapse perhaps is coming.

Progressive Radio News Hour regular Bob Chapman agrees, but believes throwing money at the problem can delay final resolution. At the same time, the longer bad policies persist, the greater the eventual upheaval with profound global implications.

Major economies are growing weaker. Europe’s in serious trouble. So is China, but manipulated data conceals it. Its Shanghai index, however signal’s trouble. It hit its lowest level since March 2009 when global equity prices bottomed out.

Moreover, in recent years, China’s been a key worldwide equity leading indicator. Expect other markets and economies to follow its pattern that’s decidedly heading south.

In fact, recession already is biting Europe. Moreover, in six or more troubled economies, conditions are dire, especially in Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain, but expect others to follow, including Britain and France. Even powerhouse Germany isn’t immune as downturn gains momentum across Europe.

In addition, emerging countries like India, South Africa, Brazil, Russia, and others are slowing dramatically.

Like the Daily Bell, Chapman wonders if EU strategy is “to break up the euro zone and the EU, (perhaps as a prelude to) world government. We know that since WWII that the internationalists have been setting up Europe as the foundation for world government,” despite unreported popular opposition.

He saw trouble coming years ago and said so. He believes Britain opting out last week “cast the die and now Germany must respond. It is either let’s make a deal or the EU and the euro zone break up. Who knows, perhaps that is what Germany is after” to consolidate greater power for itself.

Chapman’s on these issues daily and through his twice weekly International Forecaster. It’s an invaluable source of key information suppressed by major media scoundrels when they finally learn some of it weeks or months after Chapman reveals it in print and on air. He does it regularly on the Progressive Radio News Hour.

Hard Times for European Households

When the going gets tough, workers suffer most. Millions across Europe face growing austerity burdens when massive stimulus is needed.

As a result, jobs, decent wages, social benefits, and living standards are eroding dramatically. Youth unemployment is skyrocketing. In Greece, Spain and elsewhere, it approaches 50%. Total US unemployment approaches 23% en route to higher levels.

Bankers, other corporate elites, and complicit politicians are capitalizing on crisis conditions to mandate social injustice at a time help is badly needed. Instead, painful cuts come in successive waves.

Europe, America, Israel, and other industrialized economies are third worldizing. In response, rage affects hundreds of cities for change. America’s OWS says “the only solution is World Revolution.”

Governments won’t help, so people on their own must sustain long-term struggle for change, no matter what’s done to subvert them.

Global crisis conditions today are the gravest in decades. Ameliorating programs earlier helped.

Today’s destructive ones favor bankers, war profiteers, and other corporate favorites. Only people power can turn disaster to social justice.

Popular Middle East outrage, America’s OWS, Greece’s Oxi, Spain’s indignados, Chilean students, and cross-polinating populations across other countries need critical mass power to succeed.

Fundamental change is possible. The mother of all struggles lies ahead. Sustained resistance gets results. Given the alternative, is anything less than social justice acceptable?

Part Four Not a Wrap Yet

by Tom Valentine

This gaggle of columns (parts one thru four) was a big bite, and we are still chewing it.

Establishing control of the blossoming world ofoil export was only half of the goal of the Crownin the machinations following both WWI and WWII. The two world wars were merely all one manipulated global-changing activity.

To fully understand where we are going, we need to delve into a little modern history ofInstitutional Churchianity because it is the combination of Jewish Zionist and Churchist Zionist belief systems that provides thepolitical base for America’s unfettered support of modern Israel and the never-ending wars of insanity and oil we live amidst today.

I distinguish between Churchists and Christians for obvious reasons—no Bible literate Christian thinks modern Israel has any scriptural connection whatsoever. Nor would any Christian, worthy of the name, promote perpetual war.

A post among the comments under my column recently caught my eye, and serves to help explain why I took the time to write these observations, which I first wrote up in 2004. (Not previously published, though The Barnes Review considered it.)

Here is the comment: “Is it that these super rich feel they never have enough? I have always had trouble understanding power. Is it a psychological thing related to personality, this wanting to rule people, to hurt people? I should probably look up causes for power seeking unless you or someone can explain to me what really drives power hungry people. I guess my Irish simple neighborhood mentality lacked awareness. I learned early how to survive and many years back was picked to be a scout but as far as big world matters I am missing the motives and driving forces for power. Just as there are borderline personality disorders there must be some underlying thing driving power madness.”

An excellent question, you, like most of us, are not a sociopath.

We have difficulty understanding the apparent drive for power, since it is not in our mentality from early training. Our parents were “ordinary folks.” Our education/indoctrination was victim of its times.

We get to bear the burdens and the label of “normal” which humanistic scientism says doesn’t exist. There is a ton of psychobabble to study on human personalities, all of it produced under the hand of Royal Society illuminism. Yes, Freud and his ilk.

Good luck getting a correct answer from psychobabble. I believe the Bible covers human behavior quite well, if we but read and study.

The reason I have emphasized the philosophy behind the Crown in this series is so folks will see where this power-mad drive comes from.

Albert Pike, who wrote the “Bible” for MasonryMorals and Dogma, emphasized that individual humans have tremendous “power” and “the Brotherhood must control this power to keep it from “going astray” from the goals of Lucifer.

Masons must believe they serve a “higher” purpose to strive as they do for power over people. Therefore like the Talmudists who inspired them, they are free to deceive, or even kill those who do not agree. You and I, friend, are simple humans who want none of this manipulation in our lives or in lives of others; In this way we love our liberty and our neighbors. which is very anti-masonic.

Read some history of the AntiMasons in American politics (1830s). It all began with a murder.

Yes, Masons profess love of “brothers,” and advertise good deeds, like Shrine hospitals, in order to deceive.

It takes a strong will to wade thru Morals and Dogma, to learn this. Few read it.

In a nutshell, Christ, on the cross and resurrected, fulfilled the Old Testament and accredited the New. The Roman destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, where God had chosen to relate to humans in the old order, marked the dawning of the Kingdom promised by Christ—a spiritual kingdom sustained entirely by individual belief, conviction and obedience.

Christianity is for individuals, and has nothing to do with nations since the ultimate goal is the spiritual, rather than an earthly, kingdom.

That simple fact, spelled out in the New Testament requires a profound faith, which is not easy to sustain through all the readings of Human history with so many Institutions and dogmas.

One more part, before this ramble thru history is a wrap, stay tuned, and please will some academics liven this up with challenges, I dare you. Part Five, The Crown’s “Schofieldism.”

Washington’s Secret Wars

So who ends up on top in the secret wars being waged?  Everyone loses in the White House’s secret wars.

by Philip Giraldi

You the People Fight the Wars

Following the widely reported Iranian government plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador in Washington and alarming new reports of civilian deaths in Syria, the White House has issued several findings to the intelligence community authorizing stepped-up covert action against both Damascus and Tehran.

A “finding” is top-level approval for secret operations considered to be particularly politically sensitive.

Taken together, the recent findings, combined with the evidence of major intelligence operations being run in Lebanon, amount to a secret war against Iran and its allies in the Mideast.

Since 2008 the United States has regarded the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization. This enables the Department of the Treasury to freeze its business interests and bank accounts.

But it has also permitted aggressive steps against the group itself, including killing its members under the White House doctrine that all terrorists are potential targets anywhere in the world.

A finding approved by the Bush administration in 2003 and strengthened in 2006 on the pretext that Iran was “interfering” in Iraq and Afghanistan authorized the use of intelligence assets to disrupt Iranian Revolutionary Guard activity in border zones.

These included areas adjacent to Pakistan inhabited by ethnic Baluchs, the Kurdish region of northern Iraq, and the ethnically Arab province of Khuzestan, which borders southeastern Iraq.

Activity in the Kurdish region was most intense because it was regarded as a more permissible operating environment with a long, open border and a friendly local government in Arbil, but it was limited by Turkish sensitivities and was partially run by Israelis to provide deniability by the U.S.

That effort was abandoned altogether in 2009, when the Obama administration decided to double down on the Turkish relationship, increasing intelligence and military cooperation with Ankara against the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK).

Attacks in Baluchestan and the Arab region over the past seven years have continued intermittently, however, killing a large number of Revolutionary Guards and even more civilians.

Dogs of war

A separate finding on Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons program was signed in 2007 by President Bush.

It authorized attacks against Iranian nuclear scientists and other facilities in Tehran and elsewhere as well as coordination with the Israelis to develop computer viruses to disrupt the Iranian computer network, a program that led to the production of the Stuxnet worm.

While the media credits “the Israelis” in the assassinations of Iranian scientists, the reality is that no Israeli (or American) intelligence officer could possibly operate effectively inside Iran to carry out a killing.

The assassinations, which are acts of war, have actually been carried out by followers of the dissident Iranian Mujahedin e-Khalq (MEK), the separatist Baluch Jundallah, and the Kurdish PJAK, all acting under direction from American and Israeli intelligence officers.

The MEK’s role in doing the CIA’s and Mossad’s dirty work is one reason so many neoconservatives and national security experts have been calling for the group to be removed from the U.S. terrorist group list.

The new finding on Iran extends existing initiatives and is intended to strangle Iran by creating insurgencies along all of the country’s borders.

It includes involvement with the Azeris, who inhabit northwestern Iran and share a common border, language, and culture with the people of Azerbaijan.

Twenty million ethnic Azeris in Iran make up nearly 25 percent of the population.

When combined with the 2 percent who are Baluchs, 7 percent who are Kurds, and 3 percent who are Arabs, it is easy to understand that Iran has a significant ethnic problem concentrated along its borders.

This is precisely what the covert action seeks to exploit by encouraging ethnic fragmentation in the country’s border regions and supplying dissidents with communications equipment, training, money, and weapons.

Not at all coincidentally, the foreign minister of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov, visited Brussels in October to discuss issues of common concern with NATO.

He met with U.S. officials and, inter alia, received private intelligence briefings focused on the “Iranian threat.”

Azeris inside Iran are generally well-assimilated — Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is himself half-Azeri — but there is a small movement to join the Azeri region of Iran with the existing state of Azerbaijan.

The central government in Tehran is indeed unpopular among Azeris, though one could easily argue that it is equally unpopular among most Persians.

In February 2007, tens of thousands of Azeris marched against Iranian state-sponsored suppression of their language and culture, but there is little to no evidence that many Azeris would take up arms against Tehran to advance their cause.

The Warring Flags

The situation in Syria is quite different. Russia and China have warned against foreign intervention in the country, but the intervention is already well under way using some open but mostly covert resources.

An extensive clandestine network of support for the insurgency against the government of President Bashar al-Assad has been put in place, assisted by Turkey and several Western European countries.

The Free Syrian Army, the armed wing of the Syrian National Council, operates out of the Turkish city of Iskenderun, near the Syrian border.

The rebels are being armed with surplus weapons from Libya that are being shipped on NATO aircraft even though NATO is not officially involved in the activity against Damascus.

There are also reports that as many as 600 Libyan fighters from the Transitional National Council in Tripoli have traveled with the weapons to provide pointers on how guerrilla forces might fight regular army soldiers, something they learned at a cost while fighting Gadhafi’s forces.

French and British special forces trainers have also been reported to be present on the ground.

The United States is providing communications equipment and intelligence information to assist the rebel cause, together with the usual National Endowment for Democracy cadres for training on “how to build democracy” to justify the extraordinary and manifestly illegal effort.

Secretary of State Clinton

Lest there be any confusion as to the overall objective, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently predicted that there would soon be a civil war in Syria.

As the pretext for the intervention in Syria has been an amorphous “responsibility to protect” the nation’s civilians, it would appear to be a rather curious resolution to the problem.

It would pit the various ethnic and sectarian groups in the country against each other in a struggle for dominance in what might well turn out to be a truncated state.

Most observers of the region believe that if Assad goes, the likely victor will be the Muslim Brotherhood, which is the only group that is well-organized and -funded with an infrastructure inside Syria.

If that happens, it will mean hard times for the country’s Christian, Alawite, and Shi’ite minorities.

It is all too easy to forget that Syria has a largely secular regime, such as existed in neighboring Iraq under Saddam Hussein, and that “humanitarian democratization” will bring to the fore both good things and bad things.

Among the bad things is the likelihood that the groups that are best configured to take advantage of change will rise to the top. They will not necessarily be the friends of pluralism and liberal democratic values.

So who ends up on top in the secret wars being waged? Well, possibly no one currently identifiable, since no one appears to be anticipating what might come next.

Iran is unlikely to change its government, and repeated attacks by outside forces will only strengthen the hold of the clerical regime.

Syria’s government might or might not have the resiliency to resist the attack of the rebel forces, but even if it survives it will only become more inward-looking and paranoid in its relationships with its neighbors, relying even more intensely on Iran as its only ally in the region

Israel and its friends in the United States would like to see Assad fall because it would mean a fragmented Syria, a policy objective once promoted in the neocon “Clean Break” proposal that was presented to Benjamin Netanyahu in 1996.

But replacing the mostly pragmatic Assad with a radical religious regime, a real possibility, would not necessarily serve Tel Aviv’s interest, particularly as Egypt also seems to be moving into a fundamentalism combined with nationalism that will leave Israel surrounded by enemies to the north and to the south.

You reap what you sowwhen you begin to interfere with countries that you do not understand in parts of the world where relationships and ways of thought are quite different. Everyone loses in the White House’s secret wars.

Naziyahu for President (of America)

by Alan Hart

It’s now clear that the Republican frontrunner in the race for the White House is Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Officially the two Republican frontrunners are Newt “the Palestinians are an invented people” Gingrich and Mitt “Obama has pushed Israel under a bus” Romney.

Both are political whores locked in a competition of their own as well as with President Obama for Zionist lobby organized campaign funds and American Jewish votes. (In a very close election race the latter could determine who becomes president).

The probability is that Romney will emerge as the winner and be the one to take on Obama. So what Romney said in the last debate with the other Republican candidates is of critical importance. He said:

“If I was president I’d get on the ‘phone to Bibi and say ‘Would it help if I said this?’”

In other words, if Romney becomes president, Netanyahu will the one determining American foreign policy for Israel-Palestine.

Because of Obama’s first-term surrender to the Zionist lobby and its stooges in Congress there’s a case for saying that Netanyahu already is, effectively, the president of America so far as policy for Israel-Palestine is concerned.

So is there no prospect of next November’s election producing a president who will be prepared to put America’s own real interests first by confronting the Zionist monster?

If the Republicans get the key to the White House the answer will be “No”, because a first-term Republican president will not want to destroy his prospects for a second term by making an enemy of the Zionist lobby and its fundamentalist (deluded, even mad)) Christian partners.

But in my view there is a possibility that a second-term Obama might use the leverage all American presidents have to get a real peace process going, even if that means, as it would, challenging the Zionist lobby’s stooges in Congress to decide whether they are Americans first or not. (Those who are not could be condemned and prosecuted as traitors).

It’s not often that I find myself in agreement with anything written by the New York Times’ op-ed columnist Thomas L. Friedman, but his latest piece under the headline Newt, Mitt, Bibi and Vladimir is a great contribution to the debate about what he calls the “grovelling” to the Zionist lobby of the Republican would-be presidents. (Friedman actually calls it the “Israel lobby”, but as I never tire of saying, that’s not an accurate description of the monster. Israel lobby implies that it speaks for all Israelis and it does not).

Here’s part of what he wrote about the would-be Republican presidents in their last debate.

“Newt Gingrich took the Republican competition to grovel for Jewish votes – by out loving Israel – to a new low by suggesting that the Palestinians are an ‘invented’ people and not a real nation entitled to a state.

“This was supposed to show that Newt loves Israel more than Mitt Romney, who only told the Israeli newspaperIsrael Hayom that he would move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem because ‘I don’t seek to take actions independent of what our allies think is best, and if Israel’s leaders thought that a move of that nature would be helpful to their efforts, then that’s something I’ll be inclined to do. … I don’t think America should play the role of the leader of the peace process. Instead, we should stand by our ally.’”

Friedman’s comment on that Romney contribution was:

That’s right. America’s role is to just applaud whatever Israel does, serve as its A.T.M. and shut up. We have no interests of our own. And this guy’s running for president?”

Then Friedman considered the implications of Gingrich’s stated position.

“As for Newt, well, let’s see. If the 2.5 million West Bank Palestinians are not a real people entitled to their own state, that must mean Israel is entitled to permanently occupy the West Bank and that must mean – as far as Newt is concerned – that Israel’s choices are: (1) to permanently deprive the West Bank Palestinians of Israeli citizenship and put Israel on the road to apartheid; (2) to evict the West Bank Palestinians through ethnic cleansing and put Israel on the road to the International Criminal Court in the Hague; or (3) to treat the Palestinians in the West Bank as citizens, just like Israeli Arabs, and lay the foundation for Israel to become a bi-national state. And this is called being ‘pro-Israel’?”

Friedman also had something to say about Netanyahu.

“I sure hope he understands that the standing ovation he got in Congress this year was not for his politics. That ovation was bought and paid for by the Israel lobby.”

And about his own position and American Jews in general

Friedman wrote this:

“I’d never claim to speak for American Jews, but I’m certain there are many out there like me, who strongly believe in the right of the Jewish people to a state, who understand that Israel lives in a dangerous neighbourhood yet remains a democracy (for how much longer, I ask?) but who are deeply worried about where Israel is going today. My guess is we’re the minority when it comes to secular American Jews. We still care. Many other Jews are just drifting away.”

If many American Jews really are drifting away from support for Israel right or wrong, that could make taking on and defeating the Zionist lobby a more manageable proposition for a second-term President Obama.

I am in the process of writing a considered piece with the headline The Zionization of American politics and how it could be terminated. It will be ready for publication at the start of the New Year.

Benazir’s Unsolved Murder Mystery And Musharraf’s Expected Return

by Asif Haroon Raja

Benazir Bhutto (BB) was the first women prime minister in the Muslim world. She remained in power twice and earned worldwide fame. Helped by her husband Asif Ali Zardari, the couple amassed substantive wealth during the two stints in power. During Nawaz Sharif’s second tenure (1997-99), the Ehtesab Bureau had prepared dozens of cases against the couple concerning money laundering and corruption. When she realized that the noose was tightening around her neck, she decided to go in exile to London in 1998. During her period of exile, she was leading a Queen’s life abroad. She shuttled between London and Dubai where she had palatial residences.

All her children were with her and attending their schools. Her husband had been released from jail by Gen Musharraf and he had joined his family in Dubai in 2006. Her ailing mother Nusrat Bhutto was also in Dubai. She was free of worries of administering a difficult state like Pakistan where her father Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto (ZAB) had been hanged to death. God had given her everything and the couple had so much of wealth and property abroad that they could spend the rest of their lives in royal style.

Yet she chose to return to Pakistan in 2007 at a time when the whole country was engulfed in the flames of terrorism and life had become insecure due to frequent suicide attacks and bomb blasts. She preferred to go back despite massive smear campaign against her by the state machinery. She stuck to her decision knowing that she couldn’t do so under normal circumstances because of high profile pending court cases. She was so obsessed with the idea of becoming the prime minister for the third time that she didn’t mind accepting the crutches provided by Gen Musharraf and Washington.

She happily struck a power sharing deal with Gen Musharraf. Instead of contesting the court cases she gladly agreed to the issuance of infamous NRO, which absolved her and her top PPP leaders including Zardari of all the corruption charges. In return, the elected members of PPP didn’t block Gen Musharraf’s election for second five-year tenure on 6 October 2007. The appeal of power was so strong that she ignored repeated warnings of her well-wishers that her life was in danger. The Taliban had given her threats because of her controversial statements, which she made to earn the confidence of Washington.

Since she was destined to die an abnormal death in Pakistan, death pulled her in that direction and all the obstacles lying in her path got removed and she landed in Karachi on 17 October 2007. Before homecoming, she wrote a letter to Musharraf and named three persons whom she felt could harm her. As a consequence to bomb blast on her cavalcade in Karachi in which she had a narrow escape, an FIR was registered on 19 October in which Chief Ministers of Punjab and Sindh and DG IB were named as suspects. On 26 October, she sent an e-mail to Mark Siegel which was passed on to CNN Wolf Blitzer. It said if anything happened to her she would hold Musharraf responsible. E mail was made pubic by Zardari on the following day of her murder on 27 December 2007.

Millions of Jayalas and her fans who loved her couldn’t save her from the assassin’s bullet. Her sudden and tragic death paved the way for Zardari who had been left behind in Dubai by her and had not been given party ticket to contest the election scheduled in January 2008. The dubious ‘will’, supposedly left behind by BB helped Zardari in taking over as co-chairperson of PPP and his son whom he named as Bilawal Bhutto as chairman. But for sudden and tragic death of BB, Zardari could never have become the President. That way, he benefited the most as a consequence to her departure.

BB’s pompous life, her charms and gaiety have all become part of history. PPP leaders shed crocodile tears to express their deep sorrow, cut cakes on her birthdays, hold death anniversary every year, plonk her name on roads, airports and educational institutions, and raise vociferous slogans that ‘BB Zinda Hai’ (BB is alive). They perform these theatrics merely to keep the Jayalas under her spell, but the fact is that no amount of chest beating or sloganeering will bring her back to life. The best service they could have rendered her was by fulfilling the mission of ZAB and BB of providing bread, clothes and shelter to the poor and alleviating their sufferings. Alas! Their four year misconduct must have made the two great leaders quiver in agony in their graves. The ones who were closest to BB have all been sidelined and opportunists and unelected persons allotted plum appointments.

Four years have lapsed and so far BB’s murderers have not been traced. This is in spite of the fact that Zardari stated that he knew her killers. Probe by the UN Commission at taxpayers cost wasted more than a year and ultimately proved inconsequential. Inordinate delay in solving the murder mystery has given rise to suspicions that the ones trying to catch the culprits maybe the actual murderers. Musharraf, Zardari, Rahman Malik and Babar Awan are among the suspects. While Musharraf is in exile since August 2008 and is desperate to enter into the political arena in Pakistan and try his luck in coming elections, the other three are holding topmost appointments. Zardari purposely preferred seat of President over Premiership to acquire immunity from prosecution by courts. With powers under Article 58-2b and seat of co-chairpersonship, he became the most powerful civilian President.

Rahman Malik and Babar Awan are neither elected nor old PPP stalwarts, but are closest to Zardari and are playing a lead role in state affairs. On the fateful day of BB’s murder, these two gentlemen were sitting in the escort car which was supposed to remain nearest to BB’s car. After BB finished her speech in Liaquat Bagh and was on her way out, surprisingly her vehicle wheeled right instead of left and the escort car sped away towards Islamabad. At the time of suicide bombing against her vehicle and sniper firing, her vehicle was unescorted. There was nobody to evacuate her to the hospital. Rehman Malik, appointed as her security in-charge, returned to the hospital much after the gruesome attack.

There are several other intriguing aspects like prompt washing of the scene of murder, refusal of Zardari to conduct post-mortem of the body which have not been answered. The government is in no hurry to expedite the investigation. In fact, after the UN inconclusive inquest, the matter had been put in a cold freezer and was reactivated only when media made noise and pressure from within PPP ranks intensified. Nawaz Sharif upped the ante during his recent public address in Larkana. He pledged that if voted to power he would catch and punish the killers of his sister BB. Feeling the heat, Rahman Malik has now claimed that all conspiring elements and those involved in BB’s assassination had been arrested and would be exposed at an opportune time. This is yet another farce being played.

Having seen the fate of BB, it seems Musharraf has not learnt any lesson. Like her, he is also vying to return to Pakistan. He is leading a comfortable life in London and receives heavy payments for his lectures in various educational institutes in USA and western countries. He has accumulated so much of wealth during his little over eight-year stint in power that he can live a lord’s life in London where he has an expensive flat in elitist constituency. The magnitude of his wealth can be measured from the fact that he managed to establish a political party which he has named as All Pakistan Muslim League (APML). He has announced to return back before March 2012. The APML will spend Rs117 million for publicity campaign to welcome him. Rs 629 million will be spent on transport and other arrangements for his public meeting upon his arrival.

During his rule, seven attempts were made on his life; two of these were deadly. He is accused of subverting the Constitution twice which falls under Article 61 of the Constitution. He is accused of getting Nawab Akbar Bugti murdered in August 2006. An FIR to this effect has been registered in Quetta and based on the petition filed; the court has issued his warrants of arrest. Afghan Taliban must not have pardoned him for his betrayal. The Baloch and Pashtuns of FATA hate him since he had initiated military operations against them. Religious groups also bear a grudge against him since he had mistreated them. Victims of Guantanamo Bay Prison as well as family of Dr Aafia Siddiqui who had been handed over by him to USA cannot forgive him. Sharif brothers also carry a deep rancour and want his trial.

Great majority of people are of the view that his flawed policies and issuance of NRO to prolong his rule are responsible for the current deplorable state of affairs of the country. Despite all these threats, he is determined to return because the perks and privileges he can enjoy in Pakistan are unavailable in the west. His fans have led him up the garden path that owing to poor performance of the present regime, the people will welcome him. They are right to some extent since it cannot be denied that in terms of governance, economic management, competence and results obtained, Musharraf’s rule was much better. However, weighing the pros and cons, the weight of cons is heavier than the pros. He cannot be excused for the compromises he made to please USA. Pakistan is suffering on account of those compromises which impinged upon security and national interests.

His recent demand for security guarantees from Pak Army is similar to the one made by BB. He must remember that ground situation has radically changed. In 2008, the US was in a strong position to twist the tail of NRO cleansed rulers. Zardari had secretly made an agreement with UK and USA not to impeach or try him and to provide him safe exit in return for accepting him as the next president. He had committed to his mentors that Musharraf would be given a choice whether to stay in Pakistan or proceed abroad and that he would be allowed to stay in the Army House till the completion of his house in Chak Shezad and provided full security as long as he stayed here.

He was allowed to proceed abroad with full honours and to carry with him security guards, personal assistant and a batman. He retained these facilities for quite sometime. Pak-US relations are at present at its lowest ebb and terms of engagement are being revised. Zardari himself is under substantial pressure and is planning to move over to London from Dubai for treatment. There are strong rumours that in the light of shield of NRO taken away by the Supreme Court and linkage of memogate with 2 May incident getting established, he may opt to prolong his stay abroad till such time the situation reverts to normal. Under the changed circumstances and security threats, wisdom demands that Musharraf should stay put in London for some more time and let the tempers of his adversaries cool down. If he thinks that he will become a fourth force and become popular like Imran Khan, he is sadly mistaken.

Legislating Tyranny in America

by Stephen Lendman

Obama won’t prosecute CIA torturers, Wall Street crooks, other corporate criminals, lawless war profiteers, or other venal high-level civilian or government officials.

Instead, expect him to sign into law (or at least tacitly approve) indefinite military detentions of US citizens allegedly associated with terrorist groups, with or without corroborating evidence.

Post-9/11, US freedoms and other democratic values dramatically eroded. Enactment of police state provisions in the FY 2012 National Defense Authorization Act comes closer to ending them entirely.

On December 5, the ACLU headlined, “Indefinite Detention, Endless Worldwide War and the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA),” saying:

Enactment of this measure will authorize “the military to pick up and imprison people, including US citizens, without charging them or putting them on trial.”

Secretly with no hearings, both Houses are rushing to complete a “joint version” before leaving for Christmas break. “Fundamental American values and freedoms are on the line.” Given the stakes, they’re perilously hanging by a thread.

On December 13, the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) urged Obama to veto NDAA in its present form. Otherwise, he’ll “be responsible for signing into law one of the greatest expansions of executive power in our nation’s history, allowing the government to lock up citizens and non-citizens without the right to fair trials.”

Indefinite detentions violate core democratic freedoms, including fundamental Bill of Rights ones already gravely eroded.

On November 27, 1941, Franklin Roosevelt issued Proclamation 2524, declaring December 15 Bill of Rights Day to commemorate its 150th 1791 ratification.

At the time, he hailed “America(‘s) charter of personal liberty and human dignity,” including “freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and the free right to petition the Government for redress of grievances.”

Although American freedom then was far less than he claimed, today it hangs by a thread and may pass entirely any time for any reason.

In response to global imperial wars, corporate favoritism, unbridled private sector criminality, and political corruption at the highest levels, causing economic crisis conditions at home, thousands began protesting nationwide for social justice.

In response, militarized police confront them violently as NDAA heads for enactment to stop anyone from challenging US hegemony and corporate power by throwing them indefinitely in military dungeons to rot.

Equity and justice are fast eroding entirely to advance America’s imperium. On May 26, the House passed HR 1540, 322 – 96. Doing so took a giant step toward abolishing freedom entirely.

On December 1, the Senate’s S. 1867 followed suit, 93 to 7. Both versions assure no one anywhere is now safe, including law-abiding US citizens.

Enactment means anyone anywhere, including US citizens, may be indefinitely held without charge or trial, based solely on suspicions, baseless allegations or none at all.

No reasonable proof is required, just suspicions that those detained pose threats. Under subsection (b)(1), indefinite detentions can follow mere membership (past or present) or support for suspect organizations.

Presidents will have unchecked authority to arrest, interrogate and indefinitely detain law-abiding citizens if accused of potentially posing a threat.

Constitutional, statute and international laws won’t apply. Presidential diktats will replace them.

US military personnel will be authorized to arrest and indefinitely detain anyone globally, including US citizens. No one anywhere will be safe.

Due process, civil protections, and judicial fairness will be null and void. Presidents could order anyone arrested and imprisoned for life without charge or trial. Abuse of power will replace rule of law protections. It can happen in days.

Ahead of their holiday break, leaders from both Houses are meeting secretly to resolve final language differences before sending NDAA to Obama to sign.

Promising a veto, he lied. He broke every major promise made. This one’s no exception at a time he can go either way, given enough congressional votes to override him.

Moreover, Senate bill sponsor Carl Levin said administration officials, in fact, lobbied against language excluding US citizens from indefinite military detentions without trials or due process. According to Levin:

“The language which precluded the application of Section 1031 to American citizens was in the bill that we originally approved….and the administration asked us to remove (it) which says that US citizens and lawful residents would not be subject to this section.”

“It was the administration that asked us to remove the very language which we had in the bill which passed the committee. (W)e removed it at the request of the administration….It was the administration which asked us to remove the very language, the absence of which is now objected to.”

In other words, Obama wants US citizens indefinitely detained in military prisons whether or not charged. He fully supports police state repression. Only his disingenuous rhetoric says otherwise.

Earlier by Executive Order, he authorized indefinite detentions with or without military commission trials for persons designated national security threats. Intended specifically for Guantanamo detainees, it could be stretched to include anyone.

In addition, he authorized CIA operatives and Special Forces death squads to kill targeted US citizens abroad. As a result, they may be hunted down and murdered in cold blood for any reason or none at all.

Outspoken Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, a US citizen living in Yemen at the time, was killed for opposing Washington’s imperium, not alleged or committed crimes. His murder comes perilously close to replicating assassinations at home, whether covertly or openly.

In fact, administration lawyers called US citizens legitimate targets if deemed national security threats, with or without corroborating evidence. As a result, indeed no one’s safe, whether or not NDAA passes in its current form.

According to CIA counsel Stephen Preston and Pentagon lawyer Jeh Johnson, US citizens at war with America have no immunity. Executive branch officials, not courts, will decide guilt or innocence issues.

In other words, anyone voicing opposition to America’s imperium risks being targeted for arrest, detention or assassination.

With regard to Obama’s NDAA position, his White House November 17 Statement of Administration Policy said:

“The Administration supports Senate passage of (NDAA) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2012.”

“Section 1031 attempts to expressly codify the detention authority that exists under the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107-40) (the “AUMF”). The authorities granted by the AUMF, including the detention authority, are essential to our ability to protect the American people from the threat posed by al-Qaida and its associated forces….”

“Because the authorities codified in this section already exist, the Administration does not believe codification is necessary and poses some risk….While the current language minimizes many of those risks, future legislative action must ensure (against) unintended consequences that could compromise our ability to protect the American people.”

Senate bill S. 1867, Section 1031, affirms the “authority of the armed forces of the United States to detain covered persons,” including US citizens.

Section 1032 requires suspects held in military custody, outside constitutionally mandated civil protections, without habeas rights, due process, and other judicial procedures.

Obama may object to legislative language, not its intent. As a result perhaps, wiggle room wording changes may assuage his concerns, while leaving sweeping indefinite military detention authorization unchanged.

In other words, presidents henceforth may order anyone indefinitely detained in military prisons uncharged, including US citizens.

A Final Comment

Even before 9/11, Washington began militarizing police forces nationwide. Sophisticated weapons and training are provided, including military robots, M-16 assault rifles, helicopters, armored vehicles, grenade launchers, and other weapons previously used only by military forces.

In 1997, the so-called 1033 Program (formerly the 1208 Program) let the Defense Secretary “transfer, without charge, excess US Department of Defense (DoD) personal property (supplies and equipment) to state and local law enforcement agencies (LEAs).”

As a result, they’ve been supplied with land, air and sea vehicles, weapons, computer equipment, body armor, fingerprint equipment, night vision equipment, radios and televisions, first aid equipment, tents, sleeping bags, photographic equipment, and more.

In 2011 alone, about $500 million in military related hardware was supplied. Next year’s amounts are expected to increase fourfold. Doing so coincides with OWS crackdowns.

More than ever, America is being militarized to quash popular social justice protests at a time equity and justice are fast disappearing. Moreover, military forces may intervene if local cops need help.

Post-9/11, police state terrorism was institutionalized. It’s being hardened more than ever to crush dissent.

Constitutional, statute, and international law protections no longer apply. Planned tyranny will replace them, leaving no one safe anywhere henceforth.

Breaking: VT Intel Report

What We Can or Will Tell

By Gordon Duff, Senior Editor

Veterans Today is the continual recipient of intelligence, much of which is quite unreportable.

There is enough chaos without us making it worse.  Thus, we are censors, though unlike Wikileaks, we don’t take direction from the New York Times or the Israeli ambassador.

Let’s start with Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The US has entered into highly secret and very unorthodox negotiations, with the also very secret approval of General Kayani, with certain political leaders who, quite technically:

  • Don’t run Pakistan

  • Are known to be very opposed to US involvement

Why?  The current government of Pakistan has, how do I say it, disappeared?

The problem there has been corruption.  Several well known families have run Pakistan as a “US ally” for a long time.  Those families have huge estates in Britain and private bank accounts around the world.

The Just Seem to All Take Turns at It

Pakistan’s “mystery man,” Imran Khan, defacto spokesman for the people of Pakistan has been making all this public. He is a very respected, highly educated and very westernized public figure, the most visible and charismatic in the Islamic world.

He is far from “harmless.”  He also has a nasty honest streak and has real leadership ability.

Imran Khan – Moving up Quickly in Pakistan’s Polls

Thus, something very strange at the highest levels is going on.

America is responsible for killing 24 Pakistani soldiers last month.  Frankly, the US got suckered into attacking Pakistani military posts by our Afghan allies, who have done this before.

Some truth:  What is being said about the ISI and Pakistan, how they support the Taliban is insane.

Everything we are all told in our papers about Afghanistan and Pakistan is totally backwards.  The two countries hate each other.

Fuel Convoys Can be Easily Attacked with RPGs

The US forces there, because of the problem with Pakistan are under a fuel blockade.  No jet fuel is getting to Afghanistan and America is running out.

The big problem is helicopters which are powered by jet fuel.  We can’t fly enough in to maintain operations, we can’t drive in because of the blockade and it is vital, even more than food.

Thus, under the table, as it were, the US is “back peddling” and “kissing behind” in Pakistan but thus far it isn’t working.

Within 48 hours something will happen.

What is being demanded?

Certain very unnamed “not so officials” in Pakistan are demanding a reassessment of US policy in Afghanistan toward, not just drone attacks but the political incompetency that has brought the US to alienate and radicalize those in Afghanistan that would have easily been American allies.

Our policies there and in Pakistan have been ignorant beyond measure, influenced by our own political corruption, key officials involved in the drug trade (from several countries) and lack of leadership by both Bush and the Obama administrations.

But, now…things are extremely serious and both the US and Pakistan are paralyzed because the news media in both countries has lied to the public so long that the governments themselves are unable to act without exposing their own corruption and incompetence.

Iran is holding a US drone, 5th generation.  The best explanation as to why they have it is in the article in Veterans Today by Mike Harris.

He is an expert on the technology and has simply put the truth out there.  Believe nothing else.

I have a very friendly relationship with Iran though I am not a big fan of religious government.  I am published there and on both radio and TV with some regularity.  I have worked to help stabilize relations there, Iran, Israel and the US.

Why did I say this?

I want Iran to return the drone and not turn it over to Russia or China.  This is dangerous technology, destabilizing, and giving it back is the most profitable thing Iran can do.

America spies on Iran.  So what.  People spy.  It is what they do.  Get rid of the drone, make Biden pick it up himself, don’t make it too dramatic and package this so the Iranian people will feel they have won something.

Iran is not so politically stable.  America isn’t either, as the current draconian measures attached to the recent Defense Authorization Act are showing.

The wild rumors, FEMA camps, things like that, that I used to laugh about are no longer funny, especially not when we supposedly have a “liberal” president.

The army and other “agencies” are totally sick of Netanyahu as are many of the people.  Obama hates him as do other leaders except for Merkel.  She loves him.  She is totally nuts, by the way, if you didn’t know.

Israel has done this:

Ron Paul – Will He Pull the Trigger?

  • They have turned to Assad in Syria, spreading a story of a phony US invasion of Jordan.  Why?  Israel has angered Turkey.  Turkey is threatening Syria but Syria is protected by Russia, somewhat at least.  Complicated?  It gets worse.

  • To some extent, Israel has revealed that it has considerable control over much of Hizbollah, the “terror group” they complain about so much.  What they are close to revealing is that they are orchestrating their own terror attacks as a way of bilking America out of money.  Ron Paul is very close to announcing this, he has little to lose.

  • Israel has decided to run its own presidential candidate in the US.  I am not kidding.  His name is Newt Gingrich, a man about half an inch from life in prison.  This is an act of utter insanity.

This really isn’t “Jews.”  Jews hate Gingrich, who, despite his pro-Israel blithering and butt kissing sessions with Abe Foxman would sell out Israel in a minute and actually has.

He helped orchestrate the Likudist takeover of Israel with his friend Rupert Murdoch, something that has been a total disaster for the Israeli Jews.

He covers his tracks by attacking Palestinians as a racist and bigot, hoping Jews have now become as stupid as typical Fox News neocons, the group he caters to.

Not only is his candidacy an insult to America but it is clear interference in America politics by an extremist group in Israel, the “Likudists” who should be on a terror watch list.

Newt belongs, minimally, on a “no fly list” with Alec Baldwin. (Baldwin is smarter and funnier)

More serious:

Israel Likuds – Playing All Their Cards?

Israel, by “releasing” or “leaking” the phony story of the US troops in Jordan through DEBKA, one of their propaganda outlets, a valued one, has done these things.

I call it “burning assets,” the worst thing any intelligence organization can do.

They did it before with Wikileaks and with Gaddafi.  This is why the “Intel guys” in Israel hate Netanyahu, because of his “ham-handed” handling of “game theory warfare.”

He might as well be an enemy.

America needs an election, a real one.  Obama is afraid to lead and the others are a nightmare.

Ron Paul is the only viable candidate with something to say but has mitigated his views, 9/11, Israel, Middle East, Federal Reserve, thinking he will be financially destroyed as far as candidacy goes.

Find one of those smart guys, IDF Intel or Mossad to explain why Paul’s old programs, when he used to make sense, are the proper “relief valve” to allow needed global realignments and economic stabilization.

In the interim, it is time for Obama, who shows a good grasp of some issues, to consider showing some leadership.

Yours…As Always,  Gordon Duff                                                                                         Editing:  Jim W. Dean

History — Damned Lies, Part Three

by Tom Valentine

Previously it was stated here that:

“A unifying philosophy from Freemasonry allowed these banking and merchant princes (the Crown) to cobble together a world cabal of finance—severing themselves from all national and ethnic loyalties long ago.

All that was required by these banksters was that all peoples thought that the money was real, without thinking about it, and allowed themselves to believe national sovereignty was a part of it. These private bankers were, indeed, more sovereign than the governments they bought with their mythical money—a fact seldom challenged by anyone, who wished to live.

After ensuring Pacific hegemony by providing ships and finance for Japan just after the turn of the century (1903) the Crown’s Focus shifted to the Ocean-controlling bottlenecks Suez and Singapore. While the brain trusts knew that Afghanistan was the land hub of Asia, they saw Islam as the primary foe of their world domination and today, hindsight tells us that WW1 was initially another Crusade.

Although the London based Moneychangers wrested the Suez canal from Napoleon decades earlier, the Crown’s eyes saw the Ottoman Empire as prime rib.

The Illuminati Philosopher Kings had infiltrated and perverted both Christianity and Islam centuries earlier establishing fanatic sects in both that could be easily and irrationally aroused—a most useful tool for these “high cabals”

Istanbul and the Ottoman Turks were already losing their imperial grip due to these religious faction games being played by Crown myrmidons, and the beginning of the murderous insanity now called “trench warfare” was epitomized early at Gallipoli on the Turkish coast. The Gallipolli butchery, where the Crown demanded fodder from the Commonwealth, especially Australia and New Zealand was so savage it inspired a motion picture in 1981 and several music videos today.

Here is encyclopedia version: The Gallipoli campaign resonated profoundly among all nations involved. In Turkey, the battle is perceived as a defining moment in the history of the Turkish people—a final surge in the defense of the motherland as the aging Ottoman Empire was crumbling. The struggle laid the grounds for the Turkish War of Independence and the foundation of the Republic of Turkey eight years later under Mustafa Kemal (Atatürk), himself a commander at Gallipoli. (And affiliated with the Donmeh.)

Winston Churchill a Crown manipulator, is “blamed” for the “error” and horror of defeat at Gallipoli by established history, but VT readers have come to know the facts thanks to a book Terrorism and the Illuminatti.

In this book, author David Livingstone outlined the “Donmeh” ideas used to reshape traditional Islam and play into the hands of the Crown. Livingstone stressed how the Ottomans stood in the way of, not only control of the Suez canal, but of the massive new oil fields at Baku in Azerbaijan/Armenia.

Skilled Crown agents fomented the notorious Armenian genocide, (1915) Which actually wound up turning the oilfields over to Crown interests and the seeming error of the deathly assault at Gallipoli was only a Pyrrhic victory for the Turks.

The behind the scenes (conspiratorial) details are omitted from academic accounts of the “causes” of WW 1 instead we are told:
Nobody can explain how the war came about, especially at that particular time in Europe. The famous assassination of Archduke Ferdinand was insignificant.”

However, thanks to many “treaties” arranged in silent manipulations by the Crown a number of nations dutifully declared war against Germany while, at the time, Germany declared against none.

The fighting in Europe was utterly insane, to the point of the French army going on strike as millions of men died for no reason in trench warfare. The US population wanted nothing to do with Europe’s war, but dirty trick politics manipulated Woodrow Wilson to send Americans into the fray. Best explained by Douglas Reed, who did not mention the City of London in his famed expose of Zionists. Here.

Iraq was cobbled together from various tribal groups in Mesopotamia after the Crown occupied Baghdad in 1917. In 1921, following considerable strife, the Crown manipulated the selection of an Arab Hashemite (Faisal) as Iraq’s first “elected” ruler.

Then the Crown was ostensibly kicked out of Mesopotamia when the Baath Party came to power much later. The socialist Baathists were formed in 1947 after the tumultuous Damascus conference, which was a gathering of Arab groups attempting to decide religious archeology directions as well as what should be done in the wake of the fall of the Ottoman Turks.

The hidden hand of the Crowntried to pull all the strings of this fiasco, but many Arab leaders had become aware of the high cabal behind the political powers of the West. The Muslim leaders saw Israel as a Crown Colonyestablishing a foothold in the Levant.

The Crown realized that their manipulated sects of Islam would vow to resist Israel for more than religious reasons alone, and this historic “tension” could be used to great advantage by the manipulative, oil hungrymoneychangers of London and New York. Thus, the great war to end all wars continues today, under the direction of the same damned moneychangers—exposed by their greed in 2008, with the first collapse of their mythical money game.

Newt Unleashes His Tetrodotoxin at the Palestinians

“Palestinians are an Invented People”

by William A. Cook

“Remember there was no Palestine as a state. It was part of the Ottoman Empire. And I think that we’ve had an invented Palestinian people, who are in fact Arabs, and were historically part of the Arab community…” (Gingrich on Fox News),

Many “Newts” produce toxins, the rough skinned Taricha, for example, produces enough to kill an adult human, and while all “Newts” go through a metamorphosis from tadpole to lizard, few expected that metamorphosis to reach human form in the person of the front running Republican candidate for President, Newt Gingrich. This Newt avoided the Vietnam War draft while studying for his degrees, then accepted a position as an historian and geographer at West Georgia College, a position he lost when his colleagues denied him tenure.

A resourceful man, Newt ran for a congressional seat numerous times before capturing the 6th Georgia district seat in 1979, when the incumbent retired. He resigned his position in 1998 following disciplinary action by his colleagues for 84 ethics violations, having served as House Speaker from 1995 to 1999. Today he’s back, metamorphosed into a presidential candidate willing to spread lies about a people who have lived for 63 years under the brutal occupation of the Israeli military.

Consider his statement to the people of Israel on Jewish Television this past week quoted above. “Remember there was no Palestine as a state.” Omitted was the second part of that statement if the first was to have relevance: “Remember there was no Jewish state.” What existed was a Mandate Government under the control of the United Kingdom that governed this area beginning in 1922 through the authority of the League of Nations following the demise of the Ottoman Empire and later under the continued authority of the United Nations.

During the Mandate period, from 1922 to May 15, 1948, the British government attempted to meet its obligations as enunciated in the Balfour Declaration to help in the “establishment of a national home for the Jewish people.” The Command Paper 1922, from the Avalon Project at Yale Law School, underlines this intent: “His Majesty’s Government therefore now declare(s) unequivocally that it is no part of their policy that Palestine should become a Jewish State.” It must be noted here that the Command Paper specifically marks the existence of a Palestine area to which the Jews were immigrating.

“I think we have an invented Palestinian people,” Gingrich continues, forgetting to mention that Dr. Shlomo Sand in his recent book The Invention of the Jewish People, according to Leon Hadar in his review, concludes by “Countering official Zionist historiography, Sand questions whether the Jewish People ever existed as a national group with a common origin in the Land of Israel/Palestine. He concludes that the Jews should be seen as a religious community comprising a mishmash of individuals and groups that had converted to the ancient monotheistic religion but do not have any historical right to establish an independent Jewish state in the Holy Land. In short, the Jewish People, according to Sand, are not really a “people” in the sense of having a common ethnic origin and national heritage. They certainly do not have a political claim over the territory that today constitutes Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem.”

In an even more recent book, just published by Pluto Books, Dr. Mazin Qumsiyeh in an historical review of the ancient lands of Palestine noted that “The kingdom of Judah lasted 341 years (927-586 BCE) while Israel lasted even a shorter 205 years (927 – 722 BCE).” In short, between the two recent studies, Gingrich could have found the truth; but truth is not what Gingrich needed for his interview: he needed a fabrication that would endear him to his audience both in Israel and in the United States as he groveled for monetary support for his campaign at the expense of the Palestinian people.

Consider the reality of the past two thousand years, when this area “between the Jordan and the Mediterranean,” which “has had a history of 6000 years of civilization,” known for a large portion of its history, as the Southern part of the Land of Canaan, has been called, for all these 2000 years,  Palestine. As Qumsiyeh reviews this period he concludes, “These people (known to the world as Palestinians) absorbed the religions and various philosophies and changed their allegiances to survive in an ever amorphous world.  This world, sometimes violent, sometimes symbiotic was always there.”

“Known to the world as Palestinians”; known to Newt Gingrich as “invented.” So how is it, this historian and geographer, could determine that the people of Palestine did not exist, that they could have removed themselves to “other” Arab lands and left all of Palestine to the Jews? In an unfortunate comment meant to deflect criticism about his reinvention of history, Gingrich made this comment: “Somebody ought to have the courage to tell the truth. These people are terrorists,” he said. “It’s fundamentally time for somebody to have the guts to stand up and say, ‘Enough lying about the Middle East.” In four words, he turns all Palestinians into “terrorists.” And he justifies this slanderous and invidious judgment by assuming the chauvinistic persona of the brave man who condemns those who lie about the Middle East even as he omits the decision of the Mandate Government to hand over the resolution of the immigrant problem in Palestine to the UN, a decision that resulted in the Partition Plan (1947) dividing that land into two areas, one for Jews the other for the Palestinians who lived there, who had a 71% to 29% majority in the whole of Palestine.

Since the Resolution created, numbered 181, divided the land into two, recognizing two peoples contending for the area of Palestine, it recognized as well Palestinians inhabiting the land with heritage going back two thousand years to the Roman era. At the same time, as immigration for Jews materialized through the 1940s, the contrast between indigenous inhabitants and newly arrived immigrants from foreign lands makes ludicrous Gingrich’s comments.

Even more ludicrous and perhaps more frightening, is this man’s willingness to undermine US policy since WWII, a policy that recognized the Palestinian people and their rightful claim to their own state. His convoluted logic would have the United States President negotiate peace with a people he has determined to be terrorists, all of them. He claims that what has been going on is a “delusional peace process”; true enough, but not because the Palestinians haven’t been willing to arrive at peace, but because Israel has had no intentions of recognizing a Palestinian state as the Likud Party Platform declares openly even now, “no state of Palestine west of the Jordan River.” But this fact, neither Gingrich nor the American press nor the Israeli government will acknowledge; it is rather the unwillingness of the Palestine Authority and Hamas to recognize Israel and cease their violence against Israel that prevents peace. But once again, had Gingrich taken the time to read yet another book on the subject, released in the summer of 2010, The Plight of the Palestinians, published by Palgrave MacMillan, he could have read about Israeli intransigence in negotiating peace, “The Problem with Israel,” by Dr. Jeff Halper, an article that recounts 19 different proposals rejected by Israel.

In that same volume, Gingrich could read about the Zionist stated reality that they had no plans to abide by the UN Partition Plan, but rather eradicate all Arabs from the land of Palestine, and that in Jewish documents from the Mandate period. “The challenge of Zionism was to create a Jewish state in a land already inhabited by natives who mostly practiced Islam and Christianity.  Early Zionist understood the challenge and contrary to their public pronouncements about “a land without a people for a people without a land” came to see that the natives posed an obstacle to their visions” (Qumsiyeh).

There are 32 chapters in that book that detail Israel’s ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people, all written in the first decade of this century, a veritable catalog of ethnic cleansing to complement Dr. Ilan Pappe’s volume on the same subject, The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine.

Let me close this recounting of Gingrich’s vitriolic commentary by remembering the Palestinians who suffered at the hands of real terrorists during the Nakba, an historical event he must immerse himself in if he is to understand how toxic his offhand commentary is to those who lived through these years awaiting justice. Here are the words of the Zionist’s general:

“Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because Geography books no longer exist, not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either … There is not one single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population.” (Moshe Dayan, Address to the Technion, Haifa, as quoted in Haaretz, 4-4-1969)

“Thus began in November of 1947 what is euphemistically called the ethnic cleansing of Palestine by the combined forces of the Jewish armies, the Haganah, the Stern, and the Irgun as they drove more than 700,000 Palestinian Arabs from their homes leaving them destitute, homeless and abandoned without a country in what is now the largest refugee Diaspora in the world.

More truthfully, the plight of the Palestinians that began so ruthlessly in 1947, and is now called the Nakba, was an intentional, calculated campaign to force the Palestinian Arabs out of Palestine, a systematic genocide of a people as defined by the United Nations in its adoption of Genocide Convention, Article II” (The Plight of the Palestinians). Now that Gingrich knows what to read, will he?
