‘We have cancelled your booking’ — the criminalization of travel to the West Bank is laid bare to the world

This Sunday, I was planning to fly to Tel Aviv with up to 1,500 other participants in Welcome to Palestine 2012 , a peaceful initiative of travel and solidarity with Palestinians in the West Bank. We had an invitation from over 25 civil society groups across the West Bank. We had the blessing of the mayor of Bethlehem . Our plans  consisted of such terroristic activities as laying the cornerstone of a kindergarten, repairing damaged wells, and planting olive trees.

This morning I received the following notice from the airline on which I had purchased a ticket to fly to Tel Aviv:

From: CustomerCare <> Fri, Apr 13, 2012 at 10:21 AM
To: Laura Durkay Flight LS907 Manchester to Tel Aviv Sunday 15th April 2012

As a result of providing that Information, has been informed by the Israeli authorities that you will not be not permitted to enter Israel. Consequently, if carries you to Israel, you will be refused entry and will be liable for both a fine and your return to Manchester.

As a result, and in accordance with Article 24 of its Terms and Conditions, “may refuse to carry you where such action is necessary for reasons of safety and/or security and/or to comply with any applicable laws, regulations or orders of any country to be flown from, into or over including laws or regulations relating to Advance Passenger Information requirements.” We regret that, in light of the decision taken by the Israeli authorities, we are unable to accept you for carriage to Israel on this occasion and your booking with has been cancelled.

In accordance with Article 26.3 of its Terms and Conditions, is a non-refundable airline and we will therefore be unable to offer any refund, with the exception of a refund of the applicable taxes paid, as a result of the decision taken by the Israeli authorities. would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation of your booking, which we hope you will appreciate is totally beyond our control.

Yours sincerely Customer Care Team

I soon found out I was far from alone. Many other UK participants had received the same notice. In France, Lufthansa had cut to the chase and canceled an entire flightto Tel Aviv.

On the one hand, this is hardly surprising. The Israeli government has a long record of denying entry to any international suspected of sympathy with the Palestinians. And of course this is just the tip of the iceberg—the iceberg being the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who are unable to return to their own country, even for a brief visit as a tourist.

But it is worth taking a step back to realize how thoroughly absurd and far-reaching these policies have become. With this sweeping denial of entry of hundreds of activists simultaneously, the Israeli government policy of criminalizing mere travel to the Occupied Territories is laid bare for all the world to see.

When I participated in Welcome to Palestine 2011, last July, I was effectively imprisoned for four days simply for answering, when asked where I was going, “Bethlehem.” In the bizarre world of Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, even to speak the word Palestine is forbidden.

One of the goals of the Welcome to Palestine initiative is to highlight the fact that, while conditions may not be as dire as in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank is also under Israeli siege, since Israel controls all points of entry and exit. Today, with the willing cooperating of European governments and corporations, that siege extends as far as Brussels, Paris and Manchester. But all the Israeli government has done is ensure that resistance to its policies will reach those shores as well.

Exclusive: ‘Political contract’ required to enter the racist Zionist State?

A Swedish tourist trying to enter Israel was made to sign a “contract” promising she won’t get in touch with “pro-Palestinian” organisations, and acknowledging she’ll get deported if she “gets caught doing even one of these things.” Meanwhile, Prime Minister’s Office released a letter that will be handed to deported Flytilla activists: Go to Syria.

Check this out. This is a “contract” that a Swedish citizen was required to sign upon entering Israel via the Eilat land crossing:

Please, stop snickering at the “nine-tens,” the “passpot,” and the bizarre grammatical construct in the first sentence. This is quite serious. The person in question told +972:

I’ve been in East Jerusalem on and off for six months now, visiting friends. Since I am here on a tourist visa, I have to leave the country every three months and renew my visa at the border. No problem, until this time when me and a friend made an Easter trip to Jordan and planned to get a new visa stamp in my passport on our way back. I’ll go back to Sweden next week again, so I just need a visa for my last days here.

When we got to the Israeli section of the border crossing – that one between Aqaba and Eilat – we were asked to sit down and wait a moment while they kept my passport. Then I was invited into an office and was questioned about my religion, if I had contact with any religious organizations here, what I do during the day, how much money I have got to spend and where I got it, what I do in Sweden and so on. Then we had to wait again, not knowing what would happen. After 4 hours and 20 minutes, I was asked to sign this contract and got back my passport with visa stamp in which the expiration date (normally three months later) was corrected to April 19, which is when I have my plane ticket home. Then we could finally enter Israel again.

They retained the original “contract” at the border control, and mine is only a copy. I don’t know what consequences I could expect if I would break it. Personally, I am pleased that I was let in and can spend one last week in Jerusalem. I am five months pregnant and hardly look like any security risk. As far as I know, I haven’t done anything illegal during my stay here.

When reached for comment by my colleague Haggai Matar, Population and Immigration Authority spokeswoman Sabine Haddad said : “The purpose behind the document was to make sure the lady doesn’t visit friction areas. Nevertheless, we intend to check the issue and the document itself.”

Considering the inane phrasing, spelling errors and the fact the entire letter was custom-printed for the woman personally (as opposed to a form where her departure date would have been written in), I’ll go on to venture a highly charitable guess this is the local initiative of staff at this particular crossing, rather than a policy. The initiative might actually belong to the very same “Meital Yahud”, who appears as the other signatory to the contract and might be anxious to have an alibi (a rather weak one, mind you) in case the person she let in goes on to do something as dangerous, as, um, speak the word “Palestine”, or something. It’s still morbidly fascinating to see the Flytilla getting our authorities to make themselves look like complete buffoons even before a single activist actually boarded a plane.

Update 18:30 And as if to vindicate that last sentence, Netanyahu’s spokesman Ofir Gendelman tweeted the official letter Flytilla activists will be handed on arrival.  The grammar is a little better. The content – judge for yourselves.

…Going back to the political “contract” document, immigration and human rights lawyer Yadin Elam told +972:

“This is the first time I have seen such a form but as someone who deals with the Ministry Of Interior on a daily basis, nothing can surprise me anymore. Legally, she is very fortunate that it is written so badly. If she “cannot” be a member of a pro-Palestinian organization then I guess she is not…”

As for the question of responsibility, Elam suggests:

…it does seems like a private initiative of a low-level clerk at the Ministry of the Interior but one should be worried why a low-level clerk has the powers to make such decisions. We all remember that Israel blamed immigration officials for the decision to deny entry to Noam Chomsky nearly two years ago. Would it be too much to hope that after such a mistake, the ministry would make sure that private initiatives would not take place? and if the didn’t, can we still call it a private initiative?

Anyway, at least they didn’t summarily execute the visitor’s laptop  this time. Things are looking up.

Ron Paul panders to evangelicals on Jerusalem

Business Insider reports : Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul revealed this week that he would support moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, a surprising position that contradicts conventional wisdom about Paul’s stance toward the Jewish state.

Paul first made this position known Wednesday night, during a private meeting with evangelical leaders interested in helping the Texas Congressman reach out to the conservative Christian community.

According to a transcript of the meeting obtained by Business Insider, the leaders started off the meeting by asking Paul whether he would sign an Executive Order to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, a major policy objective for Israeli hardliners and many leaders in the Christian Right.

“The real issue here is not what America wants, but what does Israel want,” Paul told evangelical leaders, according to a transcript of the meeting obtained by Business Insider. “If Israel wants their capital to be Jerusalem, then the United States should honor that.”

“How would we like it if some other nation said ‘We decided to recognize New York City as your capital instead, so we will build our embassy there?’” he added.

Even Paul’s senior campaign aides were surprised by his response.

“We were floored,” senior advisor Doug Wead told Business Insider. “It sounds like pure Ron Paul, but it still caught us off guard…If someone would have asked him that in a national debate, I suppose it would have popped right out, but nobody did!”

Wead added that Paul’s position “makes sense after the fact,” noting that the candidate has frequently emphasized Israel’s sovereignty.

With Rick Santorum out of the GOP contest is Paul now making a bid for the Christian evangelical vote or simply displaying his ignorance about the Middle East conflict, or both?

Zio-Nazi ‘welcome letter’ to ‘flytilla’ activists

In letter to pro-Palestinian activists, Israel says ‘You could have chosen to protest Syrian regime’s daily savagery, but instead you chose to protest against Israel, the Middle East’s sole democracy’

Attila Somfalvi

Pro-Palestinian activists who plan on arriving in Syrian regime’s daily Minister: ‘Flytilla’ activists expected to arrive Saturday night

  • Iranian regime’s brutal crackdown on dissent and support of terrorism throughout the world. You could have chosen to protest rockets at civilians and hiding behind civilians.

Israel’s ‘welcome letter’ to ‘flytilla’ activists

But instead you chose to protest against Israel, the Middle East’s sole democracy, where women are equal, the press criticizes the government, human rights organizations can operate freely, religious freedom is protected for all and minorities do not live in fear.

The letter concludes: “Therefore we suggest to let you solve first the real problems of the region, and then come back and share with us your experience. Have a nice flight.”

Gandhi On Jews And Hitler

ed note–I cannot personlly vouch for the statements allegedly made by Gandhi Sr, but as for Gandi Jr, I do distinctly remember these things appearing in the press at the time of their occurance. This is not to say that I doubt the veracity of what Gandhi Sr is alleged to have said. I am simply saying that I do not know.

Good for Guenter Grass! Everyone and his dog now knows IsraHell is the problem

By Stuart Littlewood

Stuart Littlewood views the “squawks and screeches” emanating from Israel in protest at German poet Guenter Grass’s poem on the threat Israel poses to the world, and reminds us of a couple of pertinent facts: that Israel is the only nuclear state in the Middle East and that it refuses to forgo the options of creating chemical and biological weapons.

I can’t say I’m crazy about the German Nobel laureate’s poetry. Much is lost in translation, of course. But the sentiment expressed in What must be said” is spot-on.

And now that the dust has settled we can marvel at how the avalanche of outraged squawks and screeches sent the needle clean off the Richter Scale of Zionist paranoia.

Brave Guenter Grass should wear the insults like a badge of honour.

Squawks and screeches of paranoid Zionist propaganda

The Jewish Chronicle reported Israel’s prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, as saying: “His [Guenter’s] declarations are ignorant and shameful and every honest person in this world must condemn them.”

What constitutes an “honest person” in Netanyahu’s eyes? Does he know any?

Would Eli Yishai, Israel’s interior minister, be one of them? Yishai lost no time blacklisting Grass and said he could no longer enter Israel. “If Guenter wants to spread his twisted and lying works, I suggest he does this from Iran, where he can find a supportive audience.”

No need, Eli. He already has a huge and appreciative audience here in the West.

Yishai is boss of Israel’s Shas party. Shas opposes any freeze in Israel’s illegal settlement activity in the West Bank. In other words, he’s all for land theft and ethnic cleansing. Not surprisingly, Shas is a magnet for freaks and crooks. Several of the party’s members of parliament have been convicted of offences such as fraud and forgery. Its former leader was indicted on corruption charges. The party’s founder called Palestinians “evil” and said “God should strike them with a plague…”

As for Arabs generally, according to the party’s founder, “it is forbidden to be merciful to them. You must send missiles to them and annihilate them. They are evil and damnable.”

Shas has a real down on homosexuals too. One Shas MP accused gays of being a plague as toxic as bird flu”.

The party is also against dividing Jerusalem and wants the Temple Mount for Jews only, regardless of irrefutable Muslim claims.

As if that weren’t enough, the Zionism and Israel Encyclopedic Dictionary tells of “unscrupulous election practices that include distributing amulets against the evil eye and rabbinical blessings in return for promises to vote for Shas, and apparently, voting by deceased persons. In several Shas districts in 1999, over 100 per cent of those registered participated in the elections.”

And is Yishai any good as a minister? “Yishai is a bad interior minister,” according to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. “It seems the job simply doesn’t interest him. Perhaps even worse, that hasn’t hurt his political reputation, because the people of Israel don’t realize it.” So Guenter Grass needn’t lose any sleep over the mouthings of this third-rater.

In any case, Guenter in his poem only expresses what truly honest men have been saying for decades:

Yet why do I forbid myself
To name that other country
In which, for years, even if secretly
There has been a growing nuclear potential at hand
But beyond control, because no inspection is available?

Actually inspection is available but Israel claims exemption, which is dutifully granted by our subservient international élite.

That the nuclear power of Israel endangers
The already fragile world peace?
Because what must be said
Even tomorrow may be too late…

Israel’s nuclear, chemical and biological menace

Israel frantically points the finger at Iran, but for what? To distract attention from the fact that Israel itself is the one with the runaway nuclear weapons programme ]]that menaces the region and beyond.

UN Security Council Resolution 487, in 1981, called on Israel “urgently to place its nuclear facilities under IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency] safeguards”. Israel hasn’t done so. Its huge arsenal of weapons of mass destruction — nuclear, chemical and biological — is obviously what’s undermining the “fragile world peace”.

In 2009 the IAEA again called on Israel to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, open its nuclear facilities to inspection and place them under comprehensive IAEA safeguards. Again Israel did not comply.

Everyone and his dog now knows that Israel is the problem. It is the only state in the region not party to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (Iran is). It has signed but not ratified the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty. As regards biological and chemical weapons, Israel has not signed the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention. It has signed but not ratified the Chemical Weapons Convention.

Netanyahu needs to explain all this before getting heavy with other people. As Grass says:

With nimble lips calling it a reparation, declares
A further U-boat should be delivered to Israel
Whose specialty consists of guiding all-destroying warheads to where the existence
Of a single atomic bomb is unproven
But as a fear wishes to be conclusive
I say what must be said.

Two months ago Defence Industry Daily reported how Christian Schmidt, Germany’s secretary of state for defence, had signed a contract with Israel to supply a sixth Dolphin-class submarine with the German taxpayer chipping in a huge subsidy. This latest U-boat will be fitted with a new type of propulsion system. Schmidt reportedly said that Germany was looking to increase its defence cooperation with Israel and “was specifically interested in learning from the IDF [Israel Defence Forces] about training and military doctrine”.

Ye gods!

The German government must be mental to have provided any submarines, let alone half a dozen. Dolphins are diesel-electric attack submarines that can fire torpedoes and missiles from their tubes and carry out underwater surveillance. Germany donated two of these killer vessels to the Israeli navy in the early 1990s. Israel then bought a third submarine for 350 million US dollars — half price — with the German taxpayer paying the other half. In 2006 a deal was done for two more at a total of 1.27 billion dollars, with the Germans picking up one-third of the tab.

These Dolphins have 10 bow torpedo tubes, four of which have a 650mm diameter for launching the larger cruise missiles. Rumour has it that Israel tested a nuclear-capable version of its medium-range “Popeye Turbo” cruise missile from those tubes.

It’s the stuff of nightmares when you see the lethal idiots whose fingers are all over the buttons. Angela Merkel needs a good spanking for this lunacy. Any volunteers?

It is to be hoped
That this will free many from silence,
That they may prompt the perpetrator of the recognized danger
To renounce violence and
Likewise insist
That an unhindered and permanent control
Of the Israeli nuclear potential
And the Iranian nuclear sites
Be authorized through an international agency
By the governments of both countries.

Amen, brother Guenter.

Shalom, Amigos!

by Keith Johnson

The rising Hispanic population in the United States may come as good news to some Latinos, but others recognize that the Zionists who helped facilitate this epic demographic shift are also exploiting it to employ a “divide and conquer” strategy that may ultimately undermine their efforts of achieving self-determination.

Throughout the twentieth century, powerful Zionist interests have sowed the seeds of multiculturalism to create a more generic society. Now, as we sink deeper into the twenty-first century, those seeds are starting to bear bitter fruit.

According to a study conducted by the National Policy Institute“As a percentage of world inhabitants the white population will plummet to a single digit (9.76%) by 2060 from a high-water mark of 27.98% in 1950.”

So what does that mean for the demographics of the United States?

The US Census Bureau projects that, “The non-Hispanic, single-race white population is projected to be only slightly larger in 2050 (203.3 million) than in 2008 (199.8 million). In fact, this group is projected to lose population in the 2030s and 2040s and comprise 46 percent of the total population in 2050, down from 66 percent in 2008.”

“Meanwhile, the Hispanic population is projected to nearly triple, from 46.7 million to 132.8 million during the 2008-2050 period. Its share of the nation’s total population is projected to double, from 15 percent to 30 percent. Thus, nearly one in three U.S. residents would be Hispanic.”

Both the National Policy Institute and US Census Bureau base their projections on trends and assumptions about future childbearing, mortality and net international migration. However, they fail to factor in a predictable future that could further dilute both America’s White and Hispanic demographics. I’m talking about a future where millions of displaced Arabs, Persians and Africans are relocated to the U.S. after being forced out of their native homelands to make room for Eretz Yisrael: an expansion of the Zionist empire from the Nile River to the Tigris and Euphrates.

The manufactured “Arab Spring” launched the beginning of the end for those living in this region, where old tired dictators are now being replaced by even more brutal Wahhabbi regimes with close ties to the Qataris and the House of Saud. It also set the stage for mass sectraian warfare that will continue to balkanize each existing nation into smaller fractionalized sub-entities. This may very well lead to a cataclysmic war in the Middle East (probably sparked by a Saudi led conflict against Iran that will be postured as a Sunni vs. Shiite war), which could ultimately leave the Islamic world in shambles.

Once the Middle East/North African (MENA) region is littered with millions of corpses, the ruins of demolished cities, and the wardering hordes of battered bodies, the Zionist entity will step in to clean up the mess and trimphantly raise their flag over their newly “reclaimed” homeland.

Then begins the ethnic cleansing—à la Palestine!

That’s not to say that the Zionists won’t allow a few of the indiginous to remain. Eretz Yisrael will still need caddies to carry golf clubs at their country clubs in Cairo. They’ll still need card dealers for their blackjack tables in Baghdad. And they’ll still need strippers to entertain Rabbis in Damascus. But what is to become of the millions of refugees displaced during and after that war?

Make no mistake, my friend, the United States is one of the intended destinations for these exiled masses. As the Middle East is transformed into a Jewish utopia, America will degenerate into a third world cesspit with no dominant majority—Hispanic or otherwise.

That’s why it astonishes me that the very same Americans who decry Middle East immigration also support these unnecessary wars waged on behalf of the Zionist state. History shows that Israeli expansionism is directly responsible for sending large numbers of Arab refugees to American shores.

The first major migration occurred as a result of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, which displaced 750,000 (out of 1.3 million) Palestinians from their ancestral homeland. Though most relocated to neighboring nations, 80,000 “officially” emigrated to the United States from 1948 until 1966. More would have come were it not for restrictive immigration laws.

That all changed with the passage of the Immigration and Nationality Act, championed by Jewish Zionist  Senator Jacob K. Javits (R-NY), who triumphantly proclaimed “Open the flood gates” when it was signed into law in 1965.

Is it a mere coincidence that less than two years after this new immigration policy came into effect, an Israeli act of aggression would spark the largest ever wave of Arab immigration into the United States?

In 1967, Israel’s Six Day War motivated a massive Palestinian exodus that marked the beginning of a series of Israeli engineered conflicts that has since sent nearly 800,000 Arabs to American shores. That’s a tenfold increase from any previous wave of Arab immigration prior to 1967. However, that number only represents Arab immigration from 1967 to 2000 and is based on data released by the U.S. Census Bureau in 2003. At that time, the Census estimated the U.S. Arab population to be 1.2 million, up 38% since 1990 and double the number in 1980. Since then, the Arab population in the U.S. has risen to 1.7 million. Of those, the number of refugees is undetermined.

Aside from the Six Day War, other conflicts contributing to this influx include the 1975 Lebanese Civil War, Israel’s invasion of Lebanon in 1982, the Iraq/Iran War (1980-1988), both Palestinian Intifadas (1987-1993) and (2000-2005), the 1991 Gulf War, and the Iraq War (2003-2011)—all of which were assisted, engineered and/or outright perpetrated by Zionist war criminals.

America is also host to tens of thousands of refugees from a number of African nations like Somalia, Libya and Sudan, whose homelands have been rendered unliveable as the result of U.S. “humanitarian” interventions. This exodus is bound to continue as U.S. forces extend their reach into Uganda and other regions of the dark continent.

The current population of the MENA region is between 381 million to 523 million inhabitants. A significant number of these reside in what Eretz Yisrael intends on “reclaiming” as an expansion of its Jewish homeland. Using Palestine as a model (where more than 80% of the indigenous population has been expelled since 1948), Israel’s ethnic cleansing could potentially displace 100 million non-Jews currently living in this territory.

Considering that the United States has one of the most lenient immigration policies in the world, it is not far fetched to envision a future where tens of millions migrate to America. This not only poses a potential sustainability crisis in the U.S., but also exposes Arabs and Africans to a society that is becoming increasingly hostile towards Islam.

The Zionist strategy is a dual-edged sword. While so-called “liberal” Zionists promote open immigration and the demonization of white Americans as racists and xenophobes, so-called “conservative” Zionists promote closed borders and are spearheading the Islamophobia movement that postures Arabs as enemy insurgents intent of wiping out white Christian culture and replacing it with a fictional version of Sharia law. In effect, both sides of this false left/right paradigm are setting the stage for a “Clash of Civilizations:” a war that will not likely be waged in the Middle East, but rather in Europe and on American soil—with the net result of wiping out the last vestiges of Talmudic Judaism’s sworn enemies: Christians and Muslims.

Meanwhile, as eviction notices are served throughout the MENA region, Zionists continue to peddle their multiculturalist doctrine in the United States and Europe. Though they preach tolerance to others, they themselves view Arabs, Persians and Africans as refuse that blights the landscape of their precious Jewish homeland.

For example: Barbara Lerner Spectre is one Zionist Jew who left America several years ago to make Aliyah (migration to Israel). In 2000, she founded Paideia—The European Institute of Jewish Studies in Sweden, which is funded by the Swedish government to promote multiculturalism and “the revival of Jewish culture in Europe.” According to their website“Paideia is reviving a European Jewish voice long silenced by Communism and post-Holocaust trauma – a voice that can contribute to a culturally rich and pluralistic Europe.”

Lerner says, “I think there is a resurgence of anti-Semitism because at this point in time Europe has not yet learned how to be multicultural. And I think we are going to be part of the throes of that transformation, which must take place. Europe is not going to be the monolithic societies they once were in the last century. Jews are going to be at the center of that. It’s a huge transformation for Europe to make. They are now going into a multicultural mode and Jews will be resented because of our leading role. But without that leading role and without that transformation, Europe will not survive.”

This is the height of hypocrisy coming from a citizen of Israel: a true monolithic society where racial segregation, bigotry and xenophobia define its very existence. This is a place where ethnic cleansing has left the Palestinians with less than 20% of their original homeland; where Jews are discouraged from marrying non-Jews; where Palestinians may be required to take a “loyalty oath” that recognizes Israel as a Jewish state before being allowed citizenship; and where foreign-born Jews are subsidized for migrating to Israel, while Palestinians are not even allowed the “right of return” to the place where they were born.

And this racism is not confined to Palestinians. Recently, the Zionist entity has responded to the Sudanese refugee crisis by beginning construction on a massive prison in the Negev desert to indefinitely house blacks seeking asylum in Israel.

Yeah…so much for racial tolerance, right?

Here in the United States, this hypocrisy is just as blatant. In 2010, following passage of Arizona’s highly controversial immigration law, the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) Regional Board Chair of Arizona, Miriam Wiseman, stated“As a nation of immigrants, we must endeavor to embrace the diverse groups that make ours the most enviable and pluralistic democracy in the world. By engendering fear, encouraging discrimination and fanning the flames of hatred, SB 1070 serves to divide rather than unite us. Arizona can do better.”

Again—Zionist Jews, like those from the ADL, have no problem casting aspersions on those who promote reasonable immigration as xenophobes and racists. However, it’s a different story when it comes to their defense of Israel.

Late last month, the ADL’s Abraham H. Foxman denounced Jewish critic Peter Beinart for advocating a one-state solution that would allow Palestinians equal voting rights. In an article, entitled “Peter Beinart: is Right, but for the wrong reasons,” Foxman writes, “…if Israel were to hold on to all the territory, the demographic challenge would emerge in full force. Even if one takes seriously those who argue that the number of Palestinians living in the West Bank has been exaggerated (and most Israeli demographers disagree with that assessment), the ratio of Jews to Arabs in one-state would be near the 50 percent mark and would make the concept of a Jewish and democratic state, the hallmark of Israel through its history, a practical impossibility. A truly Jewish state can exist, as it does now, only with an overwhelming Jewish majority.”

Fortunately, this double standard has not gone unnoticed by some in the Latino community. In a February article for the Huffington Post, entitled “Latinos Won’t Be Fooled by AZ’s New Pro-Israel Bill, Chicano-Jewish writer Garbriel Schivone calls out the bipartisan hypocrites who championed Arizona’s recently passed “Supporting the Nation of Israel” resolution bill: “Generally, The Democratic and Republican parties and their constituents are in uninterrupted harmony on the issue of Israeli border security and preserving Israel’s predominant Jewish character, writes Schivone. But when it comes to American liberals of various stripes, many are firmly rooted in the immigrant rights movement.”

Elsewhere in the same article, Shivone writes,“In regards to maintaining Israel’s ethnic Jewish majority, American bipartisan support likely also resounds in agreement (like most of Israeli society) around Israeli immigration policies that prompted the government’s current construction of a $1.5 billion ‘border fence’–across Israel’s own southern desert borderlands–to keep out ‘illegal’ migrants, mostly from North Africa. After all, as Prime Minister Netanyahu warns, the invading ‘flood’ represents ‘a concrete threat to the Jewish and democratic character of Israel.’”

Hopefully, anti-Zionist activism will take root in the Hispanic community. One optimistic sign that it already has—took place on May 12, 2011, when Latino members of the Esparanza Peace and Justice Center took part in distrupting a shameful pro-Israel sermon by John Hagee, pastor of the Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas. Courageously, the group stood their ground until Hagee’s secret police took them into custody and had them charged with criminal trespass. In typical fashion, Hagee’s bloodthirsty crowd of fanatical pro-Zionist nut-jobs salivated and cheered as the protestors were led away (kind of reminiscent of the Jews who screamed “crucify him” as Christ was marched to his death).

Of course, Zionist Jews are quick to denounce any anti-Israel activism (regardless of the ethnic group) and have already formulated a diagnosis to explain the Hispanic problem. Last February, Allen Elsner, an Executive Director for The Israeli Project (TIP) stated that Hispanics are relatively hostile towards Israel because they are ignorant of Middle East Affairs and are influenced by traditional anti-Israel Catholic views. Perhaps Elsner was responding to the Latino revolt against John Hagee’s church, or maybe he was reacting to a March, 2011 survey conducted by the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding (FFEU), which concluded that nearly 50% of Hispanic Americans believe that the U.S. is too supportive of the state of Israel.

When the results of this survey were released, FFEU president Rabbi Marc Schneier threw a fit because all Latinos were not in lockstep with the murderous Zionist agenda. According to Haaretz,“These findings are a wake-up call to both communities,” says Schneier. “We need to understand how real anti-Semitism is within the Latino community and how we can counter it as well as find more effective ways to communicate the value of Israel to bolster Latinio empathy for the Jewish state.”

“This is truer then ever as Latinos now number more than 50 million in the U.S.” Schneier added. “One out of 6 Americans is Latino. It therefore behooves the Jewish community to reach out and foster an alliance with this significant ethnic group.”

Rabbi Schneier should know better than anyone that the Jewish community has been reaching out to “foster an alliance with this significant ethnic group” for many years.

Though they may have encountered some resistance from segments close to the Catholic Church, Zionists have made major inroads with weak-kneed Hispanics who have fallen victim to the poisonous influence of Christian Zionism. In a December, 2011 article  for the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), Pastor Carlos Ortiz, national coordinator for Christian’s United For Israel, is quoted as saying, “There’s an excitement, a passion to support Israel…just because we believe what the Bible says… We believe in the Bible. And the Bible says that we are blessed by blessing Israel and that it’s our job to bless Israel.”

The article goes on to say, “A growing number of Hispanic believers take that job seriously. CUFI, America’s largest pro-Israel group, has seen a major increase in Hispanic members over the past few years. ‘We let them know that Israel is in danger,” Ortiz said. ‘And that there’s imminent danger from countries like Iran. So we’re trying to teach them.’”

Over the years, numerous Jewish organizations have worked diligently to influence Hispanic organizations and keep them in line with the Zionist agenda. The most prominent of these is the American Jewish Committee (AJC), which founded the Latino and Latin American Institute in 1995 for the purposes of furthering “American Jewish relations with the Latino community in the U.S. and countries across Latin America.”

The American Jewish Committee’s Project Interchange regularly sponsors Latinos on trips to Israel and has an intimate relationship with members of The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), a group that has been described as a radical left wing organization that allegedly supports continued mass Mexican immigration to the United States in hopes of achieving the re-partition of the American Southwest as a new state called Aztlan. This is a charge that NCLR adamantly denies. On its website, the NCLR states that it “has repeatedly recognized the right of the United States, as a sovereign nation, to control its borders. Moreover, NCLR has supported numerous specific measures to strengthen border enforcement.”

The NCLR can more adequately described as a Hispanic NAACP, and its clear by their funding mechanisms that they are anything but a grassroots organization that puts the needs of Hispanics above the agendas of its wealthy donors: The Ford Foundation,The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, The Open Society Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation, Citigroup and Walmart.

One Hispanic with longstanding ties with the NCLR is Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, an Obama appointee, and a strong supporter of Israel, who visited the Zionist state in 1986 (sponsored by the AJC’s Project Interchange) and again in 1996. In 2009, Sotomayor also participated in a U.S.-Israeli forumn on immigration.

Another Hispanic woman, Cecelia Munoz, was Vice President for the Office of Research, Advocacy and Legislation at the NCLR before serving three years at the White House as director of intergovernmental affairs. In January, Obama appointed Munoz as his top domestic policy official.

In March, the ADL sponsored 14 influential Latino media executives, publishers, editors and reporters from New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Washington, D.C. on the ADL Latino Media Executives Mission to Israel to “give Spanish-language media executives a fuller understanding of Israeli society, culture, politics and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”

Zionists have taken a prominent role in Hispanic television and other media venues. A prime example is Univision, the leading Spanish-language television in the United States, which is owned by Israli-American businessman Haim Saban. Since taking control in 2006, Saban has used the media outlet as a political tool to spread neo-conservative propaganda that supports a strike on Iran.

Latinos who think that alliances with the Jewish community will help bring them into a position of racial dominance in the U.S. should take time to analyze the two-faced nature of Zionist infiltartors.

In his 1993 book, “A Durable Peace,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that Palestinian statehood would inspire Hispanics to reclaim parts of the American Southwest. H ewrites“The United States is not exempt from this potential nightmare. In a decade or two the southwestern region of America is likely to be predominately Hispanic, mainly as a result of continuous emigration from Mexico. It is not inconceivable that in this community champions of the Palestinian Principle could emerge. These would demand not merely equality before the law, or naturalization, or even Spanish as a first language.

Instead they would say that since they form a local majority in the territory (which was forcibly taken from Mexico in the war of 1848), they deserve a state of their own. ‘But you already have a state — it’s called Mexico,’ would come the response. ‘You have every right to demand civil rights in the United States, but you have no right to demand a second Mexico.’ This hypothetical exchange may sound far-fetched today. But it will not necessarily appear that way tomorrow, especially if the Palestinian Principle is allowed to continue to spread, which it surely will if a new Palestinian state comes into being.”

Again–Zionists are working all sides of every group. But in the end, it is their own self-interests that they are advanacing.

For more information of Zionist intrigues into the Hispanic community, I suggest you read my article, entitled Newt Gringo Wants Your Brown Babies, which explores the Republican party’s efforts to tap into the Latino market, their support of open immigration policies, and the grooming of the half-Hispanic George P. Bush for the office of President.

Chutzpah and Jewish thinking

Quotes from Israeli officials regarding Gunter Grass, the German poet who dared to correctly state that Israel is a threat to world peace due to her not-so-secret nuclear arsenal and constant threats against the state of Iran:

“His declarations are ignorant and shameful and every honest person in this world must condemn them.”

“It is Iran, not Israel, which poses a threat to world peace. It is Iran, not Israel, which threatens to destroy other countries. It is Iran, not Israel, which supports terror organizations that fire missiles on innocent civilians.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

“Grass’ poems are an effort to raise the flames of hatred against Israel and the Jewish people, thus promoting the idea he espoused in the past when he wore the SS uniform. If he wishes to continue disseminating his false and contorted works, I suggest he do so from Iran, where he can find a supportive audience.”

Israeli Interior Minister Eli Yishai

“The German author’s words express the cynicism of some ‘intellectuals’ in the West who, for publicity and with the hope of selling a few more books, would wish to sacrifice the Jews, for the second time, on the altar of anti-Semitic lunatics. We’ve seen before how tiny seeds of anti-Semitic hatred are transformed into a huge fire, harming all of humanity.”

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman

Check out this poem written by Israeli poet Itamar Yaoz-Kest in response to Gunter Grass:

I want to be a danger,

I want to be a danger to the world,

so that after my destruction, not a single blade of grass will remain on the face of the Earth,

or a single blade of grass for Gunther Grass’s pipe,

upon the Earth where, since I was born, I pose a danger to the world.

Because it is my right!

It is my right to live or die while annihilating my annihilators, without riding again as a crying-boy in a transport train,

Into the world-vacuum, while placing my head in the lap of a mother who is disappearing into the fresh air of the Land of Wotan,

and the urine tin darts dark-yellow specks onto the walls of the cabin – like gunshots that spray

a yellowish-reddish liquid from besides the train guards, and among them – maybe – the soldier G.G., also, wearing a steel helmet.

And so, as the strong light of the Land of Israel enters my home, I turn on the radio and cannot help listening to the sermons of the ayatollahs of Iran and to the words of the respected Iranian minister, who shows the map of the Land of Israel with his two hands, to say: “It is so small… Within six or seven days it can be erased from the map”, or in your language: “ausradieren”. And here I am listening to the sermons of the imams in the mosques of the Land of Israel and the Arab lands as they declare “ausradieren!”, but they are always referring to me and not to you, Gunther Grass.

And yet, there is a right reserved only to us Jews (if indeed any human on Earth has this right): to be destroyed and to take the weary and sated world with us to the non-existence, along with its wondrous libraries and heart-stirring tunes – just so, after we descend to the grave, while the ground emits radioactive rays to all four winds.

Indeed – we have the right! It is mine, too!

For it is the right of the Nation of Israel to finally shut the gates to the world after it leaves this place (not of its free will!), and we have the right to say, at the price of the 3,000 year old fear: “If you force us yet again to descend from the face of the Earth to the depths of the Earth – let the Earth roll toward the Nothingness.”

All these people can do is invoke the Holohoax, and hope to fool the gullible goyim. I’m getting really sick of their bullshit to be honest with you…

Gilad Atzmon, who originally brought this information to my attention, got it exact right when he concluded after reading this outrageous poem: “The message for the rest of us is clear- Israel is the biggest threat to world peace. Time is overdue to discharge the Jewish State of its destructive power.” Enough said.

Finally, take a look at this news clip that aired on CBS:

Unbelievable stuff, huh? Can you believe the nerve of these people? I hope we are all starting to recognize the dangerous and twisted nature of Jewish thinking…

US Attempting to Trigger Color Revolution in Pakistan

As Pakistan reasserts national-sovereignty, the US responds with arming and backing Baluchi terrorists.

Carving up Pakistan by fomenting separatist movements along Pakistan’s western border has been on the US geopolitical drawing board for years. As reported in December 2011’s, “The Coming War With Pakistan:”

In a 2006 report by the corporate-financier fundedthink tank Carnegie Endowment for International Peace titled,Pakistan: The Resurgence of Baluch Nationalism,” violence starting as early as 2004-2005 is described. According to the report, 20% of Pakistan’s mineral and energy resources reside in the sparsely populated province. On page 4 of the report, the prospect of using the Baluchi rebels against both Islamabad and Tehran is proposed. In Seymour Hersh’s 2008 article, Preparing the Battlefield,” US support of Baluchi groups operating against Tehran is reported as already a reality. As already mentioned, in Brookings Institution’s Which Path to Persia?” the subject of arming and sending Baluchi insurgents against Tehran is also discussed at great depth.

The 2006 Carnegie Endowment for International Peace report makes special note of the fact that above all, the Baluchistan province serves as a transit zone for a potential Iranian-India-Turkmenistan natural gas pipeline as well as a port, Gwadar, that serves as a logistical hub for Afghanistan, Central Asia’s landlocked nations as well as a port for the Chinese. The report notes that the port was primarily constructed with Chinese capital and labor with the intention of it serving as a Chinese naval station “to protect Beijing’s oil supply from the Middle East and to counter the US presence in Central Asia.” This point in particular, regarding China, was described in extricating detail in the 2006 Strategic Studies Institute’s reportString of Pearls: Meeting the Challenge of China’s Rising Power across the Asian Littoral.” Throughout the report means to co-opt and contain China’s influence throughout the region are discussed.

The Carnegie Endowment report goes on to describe how the Baluchi rebels have fortuitously begun attacking the development of their province over concerns of “marginalization” and “dispossession.” In particular attacks were launched against the Pakistani military and Chinese facilities. The question of foreign intervention is brought up in this 2006 report, based on accusations by the Pakistani government that the rebels are armed with overly sophisticated weaponry. India, Iran, and the United States are accused as potential culprits.

The report concludes that virtually none of Pakistan’s neighbors would benefit from the insurgency and that the insurgency itself has no possibility of succeeding without “foreign support.” The conflict is described as a potential weapon that could be used against Pakistan and that it is “ultimately Islamabad that must decide whether Baluchistan will become its Achilles’ heel.” This somewhat cryptic conclusion, in the light of recent reports and developments can be deciphered as a veiled threat now being openly played.”

Quite obviously, tensions between the US and Pakistan have only further deteriorated, with the West playing victim accusing Pakistan of “double dealing” them during America’s decade-long occupation of neighboring Afghanistan and frequent cross-border murder-sprees in Pakistani territory. Pakistan has more recently passed a resolution calling for the cessation of all US drone attacks on Pakistani soil. Additionally, as noted by geopolitical analyst Eric Draitser of Stop Imperialism, Pakistan has also prepared provisions to ban foreign bases on Pakistani soil and stem US covert terrorist activities inside Pakistan operating under the guise of “security contractors.”

US Prepares Armed Uprising

The US had frequently answered the reassertion of Pakistani national sovereignty with random drone attacks on civilian populations, but seems now to be shifting into gear for a full-blown destabilization of Pakistan’s Baluchistan province. Violence has notably increased in tandem with calls from Western politicians to support the “Free Baluchistan” movement and the establishment of an independent “Baluchistan” carved out of sovereign Pakistani territory.

The most astounding of these most recent calls is US Representative Dana Rohrabacher’s Why I support Baluchistan” op-ed in the Washington Post. Rohrabacher cites the US State Department and Amnesty International – which in reality are one in the same – while accusing the Pakistani government of “violations of human rights.” He then, point-for-point, repeats the above mentioned corporate-financier funded US think-tanks regarding Baluchistan’s rich natural resources and the strategic location the province’s Gwadar seaport serves for the Chinese before admitting that Baluchistan’s brief period of autonomy resulted from the British Empire and the Persians carving it up as a buffer state.

Photo: In the 1980s Rohrbacher (right) would actually travel to Afghanistan and “fight” alongside the Mujaheddin. It is also reported that he met Bin Laden and his foreign fighters – making him, like many others leading the fraudulent “War on Terror,” quite the hypocrite. The US use of proxy forces to ravage parts of the world is confirmed, and Rohrbacher’s direct role in such ploys is now also confirmed. US State Department-funded propaganda front Radio Free Europe in their article titled,U.S. Lawmaker Questions Approaches To Pakistan, Afghanistan,” memorializes Rohrbacher’s role in the US-Soviet proxy war.

Rohrabacher entirely reveals his hand and the disingenuous concern he hamfistedly feigns in regards to the Baluchi plight when he cites a laundry list of grievances the US has with the Pakistani government and concludes by holding the threat of developing “a closer friendship with India and, perhaps, Baluchistan” over the head of Islamabad. Clearly, just as the British did before them, the US fully plans on carving out a Baluchistan buffer-state to balk Pakistani-Chinese relations, destabilize Pakistan itself, and provide more pressure on Iran’s eastern border.

Video: A proposed Iranian-Pakistani-Indian pipeline which would travel through Pakistan’s Baluchistan province, would essentially render moot US sanctions on Iran and provide Central, Southwest, and East Asia with Iranian oil. There is now talk of Russia helping to implement the planned project – a project the West is apparently willing to start a war and “Balkanize” Pakistan over to prevent.

One point Rohrabacher fails to mention is the planned Iranian-Pakistani-Indian pipeline which would in effect render moot all US sanctions and whose proposed path just so happens to pass through Baluchistan province. Such a pipeline would also converge with a planned logistical network being built by the Chinese from the province’s Gwadar port in the south all the way to the Chinese-Pakistani border in the north.
Image: Gwadar in the southwest serves as a Chinese port and the starting point for a logistical corridor through Pakistan and into Chinese territory. The Iranian-Pakistani-Indian pipeline would enter from the west, cross through Baluchistan intersecting China’s proposed logistical route to the northern border, and continue on to India. Destabilizing Baluchistan would effectively derail the geopolitical aspirations of four nations. Just like the US used fighters in the 1980s in Afghanistan to fight a proxy war against the Soviets, the US is now planing to use Baluchi terrorists to wage war against both Pakistan and Iran. Rohrabacher is just the latest peddler of a geopolitical ploy long since predetermined, and echos verbatim of calls by Selig Harrison of the Soros-funded Center for International Policy, in editorials like Free Baluchistan,” and The Chinese Cozy Up to the Pakistanis.”

US Already Subverting Pakistani Governance in Baluchistan

As in all neo-imperial 4th generation warfare scenarios, arming militants is only half of the overall strategy for defeating targeted nation-states. Subverting national institutions and replacing them with those interlocking with the neo-imperial unipolar order is the other half. The usual suspects, the US State Department-funded National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and its various subsidiaries, found all across the theater of 4th generation global warfare, are busy at work in Pakistan’s Baluchistan province as well.

Images: In addition to the annual Fortune 500-funded Balochistan International Conference,” the US State Department’s National Endowment for Democracy has been busy at work building up Baluchistan’s “civil society” network. This includes support for the “Balochistan Institute For Development,” which maintains a BIFD Leadership Academy,” claiming to “mobilize, train and encourage youth to play its effective role in promotion of democracy development and rule of law.” The goal is to subvert Pakistani governance while simultaneously creating a homogeneous “civil society” that interlocks with the West’s “international institutions.” This is how modern empire perpetuates itself.NED has been directly funding and supporting the work of the “Balochistan Institute for Development” (BIFD) which claims to be “the leading resource on democracy, development and human rights in Balochistan, Pakistan.” In addition to organizing the annual NED-BFIDWorkshop on Media, Democracy & Human Rights” BFID reports that USAID had provided funding for a “media-center” for the Baluchistan Assembly to “provide better facilities to reporters who cover the proceedings of the Balochistan Assembly.” We must assume BFID meant reporters “trained” at NED-BFID workshops.

Image: A screenshot of “Voice of Balochistan’s” special US State Department message. While VOB fails to disclose its funding, it is a sure bet it, like other US-funded propaganda fronts, is nothing more than a US State Department outlet. (click image to enlarge)There is also Voice of Balochistan whose every top-story is US-funded propaganda, including the above mentioned op-ed by Rohrabacher, foundation-funded Reporters Without Borders, Soros-funded Human Rights Watch, and a direct message from the US State Department. Like other US State Department funded propaganda outfits around the world – such as Thailand’s Prachatai – funding is generally obfuscated in order to main “credibility” even when the front’s constant torrent of obvious propaganda more than exposes them.

Image: Far from parody, this is the header taken from the “Baloch Society of North America.”

Perhaps the most absurd operations being run to undermine Pakistan through the “Free Baluchistan” movement are the US and London-based organizations. TheBaloch Society of North America almost appears to be a parody at first, but nonetheless serves as a useful aggregate and bellwether regarding US meddling in Pakistan’s Baluchistan province. The group’s founder, Dr. Wahid. Baloch, openly admits he has met with US politicians in regards to Baluchistan independence. This includes Neo-Con warmonger, PNAC signatory, corporate-lobbyist, and National Endowment for Democracy director Zalmay Khalilzad.

Dr. Wahid Baloch considers Baluchistan province “occupied by both the Iranian and Pakistani governments – he and his movement’s humanitarian hand-wringing gives Washington the perfect pretext to create an armed conflagration against either Iran or Pakistan, or both, as planned in detail by various US policy think-tanks.

Should an escalation in violence spiral out of control and the US commit to the complete destabilization of Pakistan, it is a good bet Dr. Wahid Baloch’s face will be omnipresent on CNN, BBC, MSNBC, and the likes giving his “expert” opinion on humanitarian violations inside of Pakistan and the need for NATO to intervene. He may even be nominated by his US handlers as “President of Baluchistan” just as long-time US resident and BP, Shell, Total-funded Petroleum Institute chairman Abdurrahim el-Keib was in Libya.

Video: Featured on “Baloch Society of North America’s” website, Rohrbacher again openly admits that only now that the US needs a point of leverage against the Pakistanis has the “plight” of the Baluchi people become an issue – an issue that will be used to serve US geopolitical objectives throughout Central and Southwest Asia. Rohrbacher repeatedly states that the Pakistanis were “friends” of the US but are now “enemies.” The same could be said of the Afghan resistance he accompanied for 2 months in the 1980s who are now being occupied and killed in droves by the US. The Baluchi opposition might take note of how quickly the US goes through its “friends.”
There is also the Baloch Students Organisation-Azad, or BSO. While it maintains a presence in Pakistan, it has coordinators based in London. London-based BSO members include “information secretaries” that propagate their message via social media, just as US and British-funded youth organizations did during the West’s operations against other targeted nations during the US-engineered “Arab Spring.”

Image: A screenshot of a “Baloch Human rights activist and information secretary of BSO Azad London zone” Twitter account. This user, in tandem with look-alike accounts has been propagating anti-Pakistani, pro-“Free Baluchistan” propaganda incessantly. They also engage in coordinated attacks with prepared rhetoric against anyone revealing US ties to Baluchistan terrorist organizations.
Geopolitical ImplicationsWhile Pakistan lies buried in the news and obfuscated with complexity regarding a myriad of tribes, difficult to pronounce names, confusing geography, and a culture many Westerners do not understand or appreciate, it also lies at the crossroads of China, India, and Iran. It represents a convergence of conflict between East and West with potentially catastrophic implications and even the prospect for a nuclear exchange.

China and Pakistan are more than aware of the West’s unfolding geopolitical gambit. China in no uncertain terms has declared that they and Pakistan will “stand with each other `in all circumstances’ and vowed to uphold their sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.” China by now realizes that what can be done to its immediate neighbors will inevitably be done to China itself. The West’s recent attack on Russia, meddling it its elections and attempting to trigger a color revolution within Moscow itself, reveals that Wall Street and London’s momentum forward is meant to carry them all the way to the end –– into both Beijing and Moscow.

The West will continue to whittle away at nation-states around the world by attacking and dismantling indigenous national institutions and replacing them with their homogeneous “civil society” model. They will continue enticing all interested parties to find a comfortable place amongst their global order, while producing unpleasant penalties for all who resist. Such penalties range from economic sanctions to armed militant groups fighting proxy wars on Wall Street and London’s behalf.

What has developed, however, is a subtle but ever more apparent pattern of ultimate betrayal — meaning that many around the world are beginning to notice the West’s “carrot” is just as bad as the “stick” and regardless of which one that is chosen, the result is the same. A paradigm shift must be made, one from competing parties seeking superiority over one another, to a paradigm of solidarity. And while organizations like BRICS appear to be moving in this direction, at least for the sake of self-preservation, a paradigm shift toward solidarity must begin at the grassroots.

Individuals must make the conscious decision to no longer pay into Fortune 500 corporations and banks, recognize the consolidation of power for what it is and begin seeking human empowerment not through gimmicks like “democracy” and “human rights” but through pragmatic solutions such as technical education, local industry and agriculture, collaborative research and development, and leveraging technology and our human ingenuity to improve our world through inventions and innovations instead of quotas, policies, and legislation.

Pastor Hagee’s Million Christians United For IsraHell

“…if you believe so strongly that you are willing to underwrite murder and mayhem, you constitute a real danger to world peace. As such you should be preaching your defense before the International Criminal Court rather than spurring on the multitude.”

by Lawrence Davidson

Pastor John Hagee’s Christians United For Israel (CUFI) announced the“registration of their millionth member on 18 March 2012.

This organization, founded in 2006, with the goal of “realizing the political potential of tens of millions of evangelical Americans who support Israel” can also be said to have the goal of destroying, in the name of God no less, the legitimate political aspiration of Palestinian statehood.

And, the CUFI now has as much influence with our Republican Congress as does the Jewish Zionist lobby, AIPAC.

Why should the devout Mr. Hagee and his one million followers be so enamored of Israel? Actually, they have no rational reasons to offer. However, they do have a number of non-rational ones.

For example, “We support Israel because all other nations were created by an act of man, but Israel was created by an act of God.”

Hagee and his followers do not know that this is so. They just ardently believe it is so. Yet there is a difference between demonstrable fact and belief. As to subject, ardent belief, or what might be called faith, is widely variable and changes over time. Thus, for a considerably longer period of time than the life of Hagee’s particular brand of Christianity (in fact for thousands of years) vast numbers of people ardently believed in the reality of the Olympian Gods. For almost 1200 years, countless individuals, every bit as assured of their faith as Pastor Hagee, came to the shrine at Delphi to prey to Apollo and, through his oracle, the Sibyl, petition for the God’s advice and favor.

There is no more hard evidence for Hagee’s faith than for that of the Sibyl. Think of the lottery. Despite people’s belief in their “lucky numbers,” every number has an equal probability of turning up. In the same way, when John Hagee dies he has an equal chance of finding himself on the shore of the River Styx as he does at the gates of heaven or hell. Of course, this comparison is not completely accurate.

Here there is also the equal chance that no number turns up at all, and Mr Hagee simply dissolves into worm food.

Just so there is no hard evidence for the claim that Israel was created “by an act of God.” (As to modern Israel, there is no historical doubt that the deed was done by a combination of Jewish militias, the British Empire, and the General Assembly of the United Nations.) The Bible stories are just that, stories, and quoting them as if they constituted evidence beyond the realm of faith just won’t do.

No one credits the stories told in Hesiod’s Theogony (the story of the origin of the Olympian Gods) as proof positive of the existence of the Zeus and Apollo. Pastor Hagee would counter that the Theogony was “created by an act of man”while the Bible is, allegedly, the divinely inspired words of God. And, indeed, it appears that up to one-third of the adults in the United States agree with him. Unfortunately, it is quite possible that as many people now believe in the literal, divine truth of the Bible (and therefore the divine origin of Israel) as people once believed in the reality of Zeus and his Olympian clan.

However, it bears repeating that belief no matter how ardently held, does not make something true. And, it does not matter if it is the belief of one person or a million. The situation is the same. Faith is not the same as fact.

Photo: The mayor of the West Bank settlement town of Ariel, Ron Nachman, gives a gift to Christian Zionist John Hagee and his wife Diana during the couple’s visit in 2008. Pastor Hagee’s movement has donated millions of dollars to the settlement and supports a “greater Israel” that includes Palestinian territory.

Unfortunately, this does not put an end to our subject. Faith may not move mountains but it can move the masses. It can move Hagee’s million and many others as well to actions that are very real indeed. It can move people to empty their wallets in an effort to financially support their alleged certainties. Worse yet, it can move them to take up arms and slaughter their neighbors–or at least cheer on others who do so.

I have a strong suspicion that if the Israelis some day evict every last Palestinian from Pastor Hagee’s “Holy Land,” killing thousands in the process, the pastor will shout “Hallelujah” and salivate in anticipation of the second coming of Christ. It is just a personal opinion, mind you, but if you believe so strongly that you are willing to underwrite murder and mayhem, you constitute a real danger to world peace. As such you should be preaching your defense before the International Criminal Court rather than spurring on the multitude.
