By Deception, Thou Shalt Do Boston

Was slain Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamarlin Tsarnaev coerced, blackmailed or manipulated by Mossad agents posing as FBI agents?

Mark Glenn and the crew over at The Ugly Truth have produced a series of radio broadcasts making a compelling argument that he was. Check these out:

TUT Broadcast April 20, 2013

As with any likely false-flag scenario, one must ask Cui Bono? ~ who benefits?

The American people certainly did not benefit, nor did the Muslim world of which Tsarnaev identified. Attacking a sporting event attended by innocent men, women and children from around the world makes no strategic sense unless the perpetrators intended to entice retaliation. It stands to reason then, that those perpetrators would have to pose as their enemy to bring about a charged response against that enemy.

So who stands to benefit from such an operation?

From Haaretz:

Ron Dermer, a diplomatic advisor consultant to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and candidate for the post of Israeli ambassador to Washington, told a closed meeting of U.S. Jewish leaders in New York last week that the Boston marathon bombings would increase American support for Israel – just as that support increased following the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

Dermer made his remarks last Wednesday, two days after explosions rocked the Boston Marathon, killing three people and wounding nearly 200 more. Dermer, considered one of Netanyahu’s closest associates, is currently on vacation, after having finished his stint as a senior adviser at the Prime Minister’s Bureau.

“The bulk of the American people stand firmly with Israel and identify with Israel,” Dermer said, in a video filmed by blogger Jacob Kornbluh. “If you can look, historically, there was a big change after 9/11, and I am sure that after the tragic bombing in Boston, people will identify more with Israel and its struggle against terrorism and we can maintain that support.”

Commenting on the aforementioned article, The Ugly Truth’s Mark Glenn writes:

Sound familiar? It should. Netanyahu said virtually the EXACT same thing in the aftermath of the Israeli engineered act of war against America on 9/11, saying the attacks were ‘good’ as they would generate ‘immediate sympathy for Israel.’

Now that we have established Cui Bono, where do we go from here in establishing links between the benefactors and the perpetrators? Indulge me.

It’s a long and arduous journey to the truth. Let’s begin…

The FBI now admits that they made contact with Tamarlin Tsarnaev in 2011 but failed to find any incriminating information about him.

According to CBS:

As first reported by CBS News correspondent Bob Orr, the FBI interviewed Tsarnaev, the elder brother of at-large bombing suspect Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, at the request of a foreign government to see if he had any extremist ties, but failed to find any linkage.

Both Tsarnaev brothers were legal permanent residents of the U.S. There is no evidence so far that either brother received any tactical training.

CBS News correspondent John Miller reports it is likely Russia asked to have the elder Tsarnaev vetted because of suspected ties to Chechen extremists.

The FBI is likely to have run a background check, running his name through all the relevant databases, including those of other agencies, checking on his communications and all of his overseas travel. Miller reports that culminated in a sit-down interview where they probably asked him a lot of questions about his life, his contacts, his surroundings. All of this was then written in a report and sent it to the requesting government.

So the FBI responded to a tip from Russia in 2011, right? However,NBC News reports that the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) provided FBI with information on Tsarnaev as recently as Novemebr 2012:

A police official source in Makhachkala, Dagestan, told NBC News on Sunday that the Russian internal security service reached out to the FBI last November with some questions about Tamerlan, and handed over a copy of case file on him.

“Tsarnaev had first popped up on the local police radar in Dagestan last summer, the source said. During routine surveillance of an individual known to be involved in the militant Islamic underground movement, the police witnessed Tamerlan meet the latter at a Salafi mosque in Makhachkala, the police official said.

“It was one of six times in total that surveillance officials witnessed Tsarnaev meeting this militant at the same mosque, according to the police official. The militant contact later disappeared, the police official said, but so did Tsarnaev before investigators had a chance to speak with him. The FBI never responded, according to the Dagestani police official.

So why didn’t the FBI follow up? According to Justin Raimondo of

The problem is that the Chechen “freedom fighters” are US allies, along with their ideological compatriots in Libya and Syria…Although support for the Chechen independence movement is bipartisan, that troublesome little sect known as the neoconservatives has actively backed the Chechen cause from the get-go: an impressive list of prominent neocons, including Bill Kristol, sits on the board of the Chechens’ principal US propaganda outfit, the American Committee for Peace in the Caucasus (formerly the American Committee for Peace in Chechnya). According to Glen Howard, head of the Jamestown Foundation, a neocon outfit focused on Central Asia, the Chechens aren’t Islamist terrorists, they’re just cuddly “nationalists” rebelling against a Russia that has gone “fascist.” “The Russians are trying to treat Chechen separatism through the prism of 9/11 and terror rather than as a nationalist movement that has been defying Kremlin rule for 200 years,” says Howard.

Then there’s this explanation from neocon mouthpiece Eli Lake of The Daily Beast:

There were good reasons that the tip didn’t trigger a more aggressive American investigation, current and former intelligence and law-enforcement officials tell The Daily Beast.

Those officials pointed to the FSB’s habit of treating much behavior by Chechens as suspicious, and nearly all such behavior as terror-related. The Tsarnaev request, they speculated, was likely triggered by the FSB’s concern that he would participate in or provide support to Chechen insurrectionists in Russia, rather that by any sense of a threat to American interests.

Here’s another theory: Did the FBI ignore Russia’s warning because Tsarnaev was working as an intelligence asset for the U.S. government? There’s no evidence to reach that conclusion, but all things should be taken into consideration.

Here’s yet another theory to consider: Did Tsarnaev THINK he was working as an intelligence asset for the U.S. government? Was Tsarnaev lured, coerced or blackmailed into carrying out intelligence operations by foreign operatives posing as U.S. intelligence or law enforcement agents?

So far, the FBI admits to coming in contact with Tsarnaev on ONLY ONE occasion. However, Tsarnaev’s mother told The Daily Telegraph that her son “first aroused suspicions in the United States in 2008, and FBI agents met him on ‘at least five’ occasions afterwards, the last time a year and a half ago.

She said: ‘They came and asked him, what are you doing, what are you up to?

‘They said Tamerlan was an influential lad, he had the personality of a leader. And they asked me, ‘Don’t you have any thoughts that he could organise some kind of group of a terrorist persuasion?’

‘They said they’d seen what kind of videos he’d been looking at, and they told me that they keep young leaders among Muslims under control so there aren’t any bombings, so that they don’t fall under someone’s influence.’

Mrs Tsarnaeva said FBI agents contacted her son by telephone a final time three days after the marathon bombing, one day before he died.

“They said he was suspected of involvement and told him he needed to come in for questioning,” she said. “He told them to come and find him and hung up. He was fed up with talking to them.”

I should stress that the mother said her son had been contacted “at least five” times by the FBI in addition to the single occasion that the FBI admits to. The last time was three days prior to the Boston Marathon bombing, something that the FBI denies. According to the Boston Herald:

The FBI is strongly refuting a report by Britain’s Channel 4 News that Tamerlan Tsarnaev was contacted by federal agents last week, days after the Marathon bombings and days before he allegedly murdered an MIT police officer and before he was killed in a gunfight with cops and his fugitive brother held Greater Boston hostage for an entire day.

“Story is false,” a spokeswoman for the agency said in an email response to a Herald inquiry.

In a separate interview with Russia Today (RT), Tsarnaev’s mother said the FBI “used to come [to our] home, they used to talk to me…they were telling me that he [the older, 26-y/o Tamerlan] was really an extremist leader and that they were afraid of him. They told me whatever information he is getting, he gets from these extremist sites… they were controlling him, they were controlling his every step…and now they say that this is a terrorist act! Never ever is this true, my sons are innocent!”

So is the FBI lying or intentionally withholding information about multiple contacts with Tsarnaev? Maybe not. That’s not to say that Tsarnaev’s mother is lying either. But if the FBI didn’t control Tsarnaev’s “every step,” as his mother claims, then who did?

We’ve now come full circle. We know that Israel is the one entity that stands to benefit from the attacks in Boston. But is it in their character to pose as U.S. intelligence of law enforcement assets in order to manipulate patsies into performing actions that serve their interests? Oh yeah! After all, the motto of their intelligence service is “By Way Of Deception, Thou Shalt Do War.

In a January 2012 article for Foreign Policy, entitled False Flag, Mark Perry writes:

Buried deep in the archives of America’s intelligence services are a series of memos, written during the last years of President George W. Bush’s administration, that describe how Israeli Mossad officers recruited operatives belonging to the terrorist group Jundallah by passing themselves off as American agents. According to two U.S. intelligence officials, the Israelis, flush with American dollars and toting U.S. passports, posed as CIA officers in recruiting Jundallah operatives — what is commonly referred to as a “false flag” operation.

The memos, as described by the sources, one of whom has read them and another who is intimately familiar with the case, investigated and debunked reports from 2007 and 2008 accusing the CIA, at the direction of the White House, of covertly supporting Jundallah — a Pakistan-based Sunni extremist organization. Jundallah, according to the U.S. government and published reports, is responsible for assassinating Iranian government officials and killing Iranian women and children.

But while the memos show that the United States had barred even the most incidental contact with Jundallah, according to both intelligence officers, the same was not true for Israel’s Mossad. The memos also detail CIA field reports saying that Israel’s recruiting activities occurred under the nose of U.S. intelligence officers, most notably in London, the capital of one of Israel’s ostensible allies, where Mossad officers posing as CIA operatives met with Jundallah officials.

The officials did not know whether the Israeli program to recruit and use Jundallah is ongoing. Nevertheless, they were stunned by the brazenness of the Mossad’s efforts.

“It’s amazing what the Israelis thought they could get away with,” the intelligence officer said. “Their recruitment activities were nearly in the open. They apparently didn’t give a damn what we thought.”

So if Mossad agents would be so bold as to pose as CIA agents abroad, who’s to say they aren’t posing as FBI agents or CIA agents on American soil? Some may say that they would never dare do something like that right under our noses. Really? In an August 2010 article for the American Conservative, entitled Mossad in America, former CIA station chief Phillip Giraldi writes:

Israeli government claims that it does not spy on the United States are intended for the media and popular consumption. The reality is that Israel’s intelligence agencies target the United States intensively, particularly in pursuit of military and dual-use civilian technology. Among nations considered to be friendly to Washington, Israel leads all others in its active espionage directed against American companies and the Defense Department. It also dominates two commercial sectors that enable it to extend its reach inside America’s domestic infrastructure: airline and telecommunications security. Israel is believed to have the ability to monitor nearly all phone records originating in the United States, while numerous Israeli air-travel security companies are known to act as the local Mossad stations.

As tensions with Iran increase, sources in the counterintelligence community report that Israeli agents have become more aggressive in targeting Muslims living in the United States as well as in operating against critics. There have been a number of cases reported to the FBI about Mossad officers who have approached leaders in Arab-American communities and have falsely represented themselves as “U.S. intelligence.” Because few Muslims would assist an Israeli, this is done to increase the likelihood that the target will cooperate. It’s referred to as a “false flag” operation.

Mossad officers sought to recruit Arab-Americans as sources willing to inform on their associates and neighbors. The approaches, which took place in New York and New Jersey, were reportedly handled clumsily, making the targets of the operation suspicious. These Arab-Americans turned down the requests for cooperation, and some of the contacts were eventually reported to the FBI, which has determined that at least two of the Mossad officers are, ironically, Israeli Arabs operating out of Israel’s mission to the United Nations in New York under cover as consular assistants.

In another bizarre case, U.S.S. Liberty survivor Phil Tourney was recently accosted in Southern California by a foreigner who eventually identified himself as an Israeli government representative. Tourney was taunted, and the Israeli threatened both him and journalist Mark Glenn, who has been reporting on the Liberty story. Tourney was approached in a hotel lounge, and it is not completely clear how the Israeli was able to identify him. But he knew exactly who Tourney was, as the official referred to the Liberty, saying that the people who had been killed on board had gotten what they deserved. There were a number of witnesses to the incident, including Tourney’s wife. The threat has been reported to the FBI, which is investigating, but Tourney and Glenn believe that the incident is not being taken seriously by the bureau.

FBI sources indicate that the increase in Mossad activity is a major problem, particularly when Israelis are posing as U.S. government officials, but they also note that there is little they can do to stop it as the Justice Department refuses to initiate any punitive action or prosecutions of the Mossad officers who have been identified as involved in the illegal activity.

If you don’t want to take Giraldi’s word for it, then perhaps you’d be more inclined to believe The Washington Post. In a September 2010 post of his “Spy Talk” column, Jeff Stein quoted a second former CIA official who supported Giraldi’s account:

“Oh, sure, they do that,” Stein quoted the unnamed official as saying, “They’re all over the place.”

The Israelis are masters of deception and have a long history of wearing multiple disguises. Here’s just one random example:

Arledge Alleges That Israelis Posed as ABC News Crew

by Jay Sharbutt

Los Angeles Times
July 7, 1988

NEW YORK–ABC News President Roone Arledge has sharply protested to Israeli officials what he said were Israel security forces who posed as an ABC News crew to lure a Palestinian youth to his arrest, the network said Wednesday.

ABC News President Roone Arledge has sharply protested to Israeli officials what he said were Israel security forces who posed as an ABC News crew to lure a Palestinian youth to his arrest, the network said Wednesday.

Yediot Ahrnot, a Hebrew-language newspaper in Jerusalem, reported the incident and said it occurred in a village 20 miles north of Jerusalem. The newspaper said villagers claimed that Israeli security forces posing as an ABC News crew lured the Palestinian youth into their car on the pretext of seeking an interview then arrested him for throwing firebombs.

What role the Tsarnaev brothers played in the Boston Marathon bombing is still unclear, but there is ample evidence to suggest that they were manipulated by shadow elements to perform actions that would ultimately implicate them.

According to RT:

Russian ‘Alpha’ Special Forces team-veteran and vice-president of its International Association, Aleksey Filatov, believes there is more to the case than meets the eye. He emphasizes, firstly, that the origin and religious beliefs of the suspect, along with the specifics of the bombing, have all been carefully pre-meditated and planned by someone within the United States in order to distract the public from the true identity and long-term aims of the actual planners.

“Putting a young Chechen in those shoes was top-notch professionalism in distracting everyone from the true identity and motives of the planner.”

Cross spray-painted on Kiryat Malachi synagogue

Worshippers arriving for morning service find words ‘Jehovah is a son of a bitch’ written near shul’s entrance

ed note–although probably done by Jews themselves in order to gain sympathy for their DAILY attacks on Christian churches and Synagogues, nevertheless we can at least HOPE there is some Christian who has finally seen the light with regards to how Jews feel about Jesus Christ.

Worshippers who arrived at the Avraham Atias Synagogue in Kiryat Malachi for morning services on Wednesday found hate slogans and a cross spray-painted on its walls.

The words ‘Jehovah is a son of a bitch’ were written near the entrance to the synagogue, and a cross was sprayed over the hate slogan.

“It is a disgusting feeling to see your faith being cursed in this way,” said Eitan, who prays at the synagogue. “Our community tries to help and support whomever we can, so I have no idea who would do such a terrible thing,” he told Ynet.

Meir Ne’eman said his 84-year-old father prays at the synagogue every morning and keeps it clean. “I did not want him to see the graffiti, which I noticed as soon as we arrived. I waited for the end of the service to tell him. Meanwhile, the police arrived and collected fingerprints. I hope they’ll find the criminal who did this,” he told Ynet.

The worshippers found similar hate slogans, which were all erased, in nearby streets. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Again, Reuters Compares Central Bankers to Superheroes!

The charade that central banking is anything other than a wealth gathering device for a few has been shattered by the Internet. But that doesn’t keep bought-and-paid-for facilities like Reuters from trumpeting the idea that monopoly central banking is a necessity.

The Daily Bell

Banker steps into the role of superhero … In other ages, we have called on shamans or saints in times of crisis when the usual remedies have not worked. In the stagnant world economy today, we have designated central bankers as our superheroes, and we are relying on their magical monetary powers to restart global growth. As the European Central Bank president, Mario Draghi, whom some have nicknamed Super Mario, said this month: “There was a time, not too long ago, when central banking was considered to be a rather boring and unexciting occupation.” Not anymore. No one embodies this new glamour more than Mark Carney, the 48-year-old governor of the Bank of Canada, who has been tapped to lead the Bank of England, making him the first foreign governor in the institution’s 319-year history. – Reuters

Dominant Social Theme: Bankers … blah, blah, blah … magic … blah, blah, blah … more than human … blah, blah, blah … godhead … blah, blah, blah …

Free-Market Analysis: Another day, another editorial in Reuters about central banking superheroes.

Are you convinced yet that this is a dominant social theme?

And how exactly does this work? Is it coincidence?

Do all the Reuters columnists sit down in a room together and decide that they will write editorials, serially, comparing central bankers to Superman?

Lord, help us. Good things come in threes, and since this is the second article in a week comparing bankers to superheroes, we expect at least one more.

We were shocked by the initial comparison and wrote about last week: Central Bank Superheroes in the Gears of the Machine. We wrote …

There is so much about this article that doesn’t stand up to even the briefest scrutiny. Basically, the article begins as all these sorts of analyses do with central banks firmly in place and pursuing a mission. But who put them there to begin with? We are asked to believe in an ecosystem that is entirely artificial.

Central banks are like alchemists, as the article says? No. Central bankers were provided this alchemical power cold-bloodedly. PEOPLE set up the current system. It didn’t spring fully formed like Athena out of the forehead of Zeus.

And why are central banks creating money in “unprecedented amounts”? It is not some sort of mysterious evolution of central banking power. It is part of an expansionary process that has been going on since the beginning of this central banking era about a century ago.

We don’t see any reason to change our mind about the ridiculousness of the comparison, even though Reuters has “doubled down” with yet another superhero editorial anthem.

In fact, the comparison is kind of apt in a strange way: Superheroes actually don’t exist and neither do central bankers. That is, there is a term “central banker” – but the central banker simply does not do what the job description says he does.

The central banker steps in and adjusts money printing and interest rates to ensure that the economy of which he is in charge is functioning adequately.

In reality, the central banker is merely creating a price fix, transferring wealth from the larger society to his own pocket and to the pockets of those who stand behind him and exercise the real control over the central banking system.

It is a system that is only 100 years old but it has virtually wrecked the world. The incessant booms and busts, each one more virulent than the one that went before, exercises a ruinous centralizing effect on economies. A few in the shadows grow impossibly wealthy while increasingly the rest of society scratches out a living.

The control of the currency is the most devious, brilliant plot ever devised. It is subtle, heinous and effective. Globalists have used it for a century now to pursue their vision of a single international government.

The charade that central banking is anything other than a wealth gathering device for a few has been shattered by the Internet. But that doesn’t keep bought-and-paid-for facilities like Reuters from trumpeting the idea that monopoly central banking is a necessity. Here’s more:

The bar for Carney could not be higher. A cartoon in the British papers made the point. It showed a Bethlehem inn with Joseph leading Mary on a donkey. The caption above the innkeeper’s head declares: “Unless you’re Mark Carney, you’ll have to make do with the stable.”

Carney’s star power was reflected in the packed house that turned out in Washington on Thursday to hear him at a Thomson Reuters Newsmaker interview. Carney, who told legislators he hoped his departure from Britain would be “less newsworthy” than his arrival, continued his effort to play down heroic expectations.

He deftly dodged questions about the British economy, saying it was not his job to comment on Britain yet. And he pointed out that fiscal policy — the domain of the elected authorities — and the private sector were the true engines of economic liftoff.

“If we want to talk about ultimate sources of growth, sustainable fiscal policy is a necessary condition. Sustainable growth comes from the private sector, not from the (International Monetary Fund), the Bank of Canada or anyone else,” he said.

He also took care to delineate the proper lines of authority between the central bank and the Ministry of Finance, and steadfastly declined repeated invitations to overstep them. “Central bankers take fiscal policy as given,” Carney said. “Treasuries take monetary policy as given. That’s the separation, and I’m not going to wade in positively, negatively, neutrally.”

Within those constraints, though, Carney offered a cautiously optimistic view of the world economy. “The important development in our opinion over the course of the last 12 months or so, is that the quality of private-sector growth in the United States has picked up,” he said.

… Carney believes that a crucial element in restoring sustainable global growth is finishing the job of repairing global finance and the regulatory framework in which it operates. As the head of theFinancial Stability Board, set up by the Group of 20 major economies in the aftermath of the financial crisis, he is one of the leaders in that effort.

We won’t bother to break all of this down into its component parts. Read it for yourself. Carney is being compared to Jesus Christ and to a rock star and, of course, is being presented as a global financial guru.

What is noteworthy comes at the end of this excerpt when the editorialist states that “restoring sustainable growth” will occur once the job is finished of “repairing global finance and the regulatory framework in which it operates.”

Conclusion: Sounds like a threat to us.

US Combat Drones to Stay in Afghanistan Beyond 2014

Though the US military continues its drawdown from Afghanistan, long after combat troops are gone by the end of the 2014, one factor that will remain the same is the presence of American combat drones.

Air Force Major General H.D. Polumbo, the commander of the joint US-NATO air war over Afghanistan, confirmed to reporters at the Pentagon on Wednesday that armed drones will still fly over Afghanistan, along with some fixed-wing fighters and bombers.

“They can collect intelligence, but they also are armed. And they’re armed to be able to provide force protection to our coalition forces and then when our coalition ground force commanders, when they deem it appropriate, they can control that air-delivered munition capability from the RPAs to be put in support of the Afghans,” according to Maj. Gen. Polumbo.

Drones patrolling Afghanistan’s mountainous terrain have become ubiquitous with America’s presence in the country. According to the United Nations’ mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), the number of drone strikes rose quite sharply in 2012 to 506, compared to 294 the year before.

Tallies kept by the US air force differ, though they still reflect an increase: 494 weapons released by drones in 2012, compared to 294 in 2011.

Along with an increase in drone flights, UNAMA has also recorded a rise in civilian casualties. The agency reported 16 civilian deaths as a result of drone warfare in Afghanistan in 2012, as opposed to a single casualty in 2011.

The use of NATO coalition air power in general has also been a source of contention with Afghanistan’s government. In February of this year, President Karzai signed an order prohibiting Afghan security forces from requesting NATO air support during operations conducted in residential zones. That order came as a result of 10 civilian deaths during a coalition airstrike in northeastern Kunar province.

The one important distinction in drone operations over Afghanistan is that these are controlled by the Pentagon, whereas flights over the border into Western Pakistan are done under the auspices of the CIA.

Speaking to the media, Polumbo did not address the use of those drones involved in cross-border attacks against so-called insurgents in Pakistan. Likewise, drone strike data for Afghanistan on weapons releases, which was previously available online, are now only accessible through Freedom of Information Act requests.

According to the Pentagon, combat-ready drones will remain in Afghanistan to provide the country’s army with close air support during engagements with the Taliban.

At the moment, Afghanistan operates only a small fleet of Mi-17 and Mi-35 attack helicopters, though they are slated to receive 20 propeller-driven Super Tucano planes, and the US recently agreed to sell the country small, unarmed reconnaissance drones.

Report: $1,000 per photo for ‘Zionist spy in Sinai’

Egyptian security source says ‘spy for Israel’ tried to attain missiles used by Hamas to attack Jewish state; ‘spy network’ discovered a few days after Grad rockets fired from Sinai on Eilat

ed note–why would Israel want missiles that Hamas used, unless of course so that Israel could launch the missiles against herself in another false flag event to justify another Judaic bloodbath in Gaza.

An Egyptian security source relayed on Wednesday to the Palestinian Maan news agency new details which he claims surfaced in the interrogation of the man arrested a few days ago in the Sinai Peninsula. The man allegedly stood at the head of a spy network, working in Israel’s favor there.

The source said that the accused is a 35-year-old Bedouin who admitted in his interrogation to passing along military, political and economic information to the Mossad.

The source told the Palestinian news agency that the information the man supplied revolved around protests that occurred in Egypt. In addition he was expected to attain missiles of the kind used by Hamas against Israel.

According to this source, the man lives in Rafah and receives $300 in exchange for each piece of information he passes and $1,000 for every important picture. Information on the movement and equipment of the Egyptian army in Sinai is reportedly given the highest prority.

Last Sunday, Major-General Samih Ahmad Bashadi, head of security in northern Sinai confirmed the reports according to which a spy network that operated in the area for Israel was discovered. On the same day, the Egyptian governmental newspaper al-Akhbar reported that this is a network that was revealed by the Egyptian security and included eight Egyptian and Palestinian citizens.

The same report claimed that the search for the man took four months, as he moved between Cairo and north Sinai. The report also said that the main defendant was confirmed by recordings of a phone conversation he held with Egyptian figures and with Mossad sources.

The network was discovered a few days after Grad rockets were fired from Sinai at Eilat. Hours after the firing, the Salafi extremist group that operates in the Gaza Strip and in Sinai, the Mujahideen Shura Council of Jerusalem, released footage of the rocket fire.

On Thursday, Egypt will celebrate the “anniversary of the liberation of Sinai” in which the Egyptians commemorate the withdrawal of the last Israeli soldier from the Sinai Peninsula.

IsraHell Airport Security Given Green Light to Search Tourist Emails

Israel’s attorney general says security officials can continue to access emails of foreign tourists landing at Ben-Gurion Airport. If they refuse, they can be denied access to the country.

Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein defended the practice in a statement, saying that such searches “are performed only in exceptional instances, after other relevant incriminating indications are found.”

He added that travelers were not required to give security officers their password, but instead open the accounts on their own.

But Marc Grey, an attorney for the Association of Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI), said the situation has little to do with passwords.

“Passwords are not the issue, email accounts are about as private as it gets,” he told Reuters.

Although Weinstein added that the traveler is given every right to object the search, he made clear that doing so “will be one of the considerations taken into account when the authorities decide whether to allow his entry into Israel.”

The attorney general then took security to the next level, stating that“a person who isn’t an Israeli citizen has no vested right to enter Israel. The authority for allowing entry lies with the competent authority.” He added that the authority will “naturally take into account the security of the public and the state.”

The attorney general also clarified that Shin Bet’s authority to conduct searches at border crossings is detailed in the General Security Service Law – not in the Criminal Procedure Ordinance, as ACRI had previously stated.

Weinstein’s comments were in response to a complaint by ACRI, which was filed after reports emerged that Israel’s Shin Bet security service was demanding access to personal emails of tourists with Arab names in 2012.

Lila Margalit, an ACRI attorney, said that demands for travelers to give access to private accounts were not justified.

“A tourist…to Israel [who is] interrogated at the airport by Shin Bet agents and told to grant access to their email account, is in no position to give free and informed consent. Such ‘consent’, given under threat of deportation, cannot serve as a basis for such a drastic invasion of privacy,” she said in an email.

In May 2012, two female US citizens of Palestinian origin were interrogated at Ben-Gurion Airport. Security officers searched through one of the female’s email accounts, reading emails which contained key words such as “Palestine,” “Israel,” “West Bank” and “International Solidarity Movement.”

After five hours of interrogation, the women were told they had to wait three more hours, after which they were told they would be refused entry into Israel, Haaretz reported.

Margalit has called the practice “invasive,” and “not befitting of a democracy.”

Rabbis: Anti-Semitism stems from Gentiles’ envy of Jewish people

ed note–and this–amongst other reasons–is why the Jewish problem has been around for thousands of years. By virtue of their narcissistic religion and culture, they are not an introspective people who understand the law of cause and effect. Instead of ‘anti-Semitism’ being the product of their own obnoxious behavior, instead it is about ‘envy’.  The Christian church failed in its mission as an antibiotic to the infectious nature of Judaism in its refusal to classify this mindset for what it was/is–a form of mental illness.

BELGRADE – Rabbis Aharon Leib Shteinman and Chaim Kanievsky, two of the ultra-Orthodox public’s most senior rabbis, are offering a religious explanation for the growing anti-Semitism in Europe, arguing that the polarization between the Jewish people and other nations is reinforced thanks to “Divine Providence” – in order to prevent mixed marriages.

In a letter sent to the participants of the Conference of European Rabbis, who are meeting in Belgrade this week, the two rabbis wrote that “getting close to gentiles is a sore evil, as we learn from their acts and – God forbid – eventually assimilate between them. When they get close, God separates between them by increasing the nations’ hatred.”

In a message to community rabbis, the two haredi leaders called on them to “Stress these issues in order to distinguish between the Jewish people and the world’s nations.”

The letter was read to the conference participants by its president, Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, in one of the highlights of the Conference of European Rabbis, who view it as a personal guidance for dealing with Jews’ situation in the continent in light of the restrictions imposed on ritual slaughter and circumcision by the authorities and the increasing acts of anti-Semitism among the local population.

‘Hatred caused by jealousy’

Alongside the usual words of encouragement (“only by strengthening the study of Torah and observing its mitzvot we will be able to stand up to those seeking to harass us”), the two rabbis analyzed the causes of the persecutions and offered tactical ways for dealing with them.

“Even in places where the hatred is not expressed on the outside, when he sees a Jew who succeeds in what he does, he is jealous of him and his heart turns over to hate him,” they wrote. “And so the world’s nations, when they see the success of the Jewish people, they envy us and hate us – and that is the father of all reasons for anti-Semitism.”

The rabbis instruct the Jews, therefore, to practice modesty in “material issues” and not to act extravagantly – especially in times of financial crisis.
“In the places where we didn’t see such hatred, it was because their economic situation was good,” they explained, “but once their situation has taken a turn for the worse and they see the success of their Jewish neighbor, they are filled with hatred.”

Fight, but without ‘provoking nations’
And how should Jews react to expressions of anti-Semitism? “According to the guidance of Jacob,” Rabbis Shteinman and Kanievsky said, explaining that “Laban tried to uproot everything and take everything away from Jacob and uproot the foundations of the people of Israel, and yet he didn’t answer him aggressively but with refined language…

“Here too, when we encounter such a situation, we must try to explain using refined language, and not to provoke them.”

As for the “shechita decree,” they wrote that in some countries ritual slaughter had already been banned, and some were seeking to ban it – and how could Jews live in a place where they were not free to slaughter livestock for meat according to their faith?

“This entire decree is based on hatred and envy of the Jewish people,” the rabbis argued, “yet it is wrapped with false arguments about preventing cruelty to animals.”

They ruled that “for the essence of the shechita we must fight to that they don’t change even the most insignificant detail, God forbid.” They stressed, however, that their guidance to act moderately for tactical reasons applied to this issue as well.

“Plead with the countries’ leaders and try to persuade them to leave us alone and let us continue what we received from Moses, without the slightest deviation and without provoking the nations.”

Rabbi Goldschmidt noted that the Conference of European Rabbis’ decision to award the 2013 Lord Jakobovits Prize for European Jewry to German Chancellor Angela Merkel was done in this spirit, in a show of gratitude for her actions to allow circumcision in her country despite the hostile media and public atmosphere and with the hope that she will continue standing by the Jews during future times of crisis.

Goldschmidt said that Merkel was very happy to hear that she had been selected to receive the prestigious prize.

‘Hungarian Jews living in danger’
Ukraine’s Chief Rabbi Yaakov Dov Bleich briefed the members of the Conference of European Rabbis’ standing committee on the situation of anti-Semitism in Europe, focusing on Greece Hungary, where he said the phenomenon was only growing.

According to the rabbi, in those two countries anti-Semitism is not fueled by Muslim elements (as it is in countries like France and Sweden), which proves that it stems from pure hatred of Jews rather than a response to Israel’s policy in the territories.

Rabbi Bleich added that the Hungarian Jewry was being persecuted to such an extent that its members were afraid to talk about the situation of anti-Semitism or criticize the government on different matters.

“A Hungarian Jew was asked about it during a discussion in the US, and he said that everything was just fine,” he said. “It was really frightening hearing that.”

The rabbi added that some 100,000 members of the Jewish community in Hungary and thousands of Israeli students studying there were living in danger. He mentioned the drawing up of lists of prominent Jews, the attempt (which was thwarted at the last minute) to hold a provocative march on the eve of Holocaust Day under the title, “Give Gas,” and the decision to honor a person known for his anti-Semitic views with a prestigious national award.

As part of the three-day convention, the 40 participants – rabbis of European countries and major cities d senior religious judges in the continent – met with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and held a ceremony at the Semlin concentration camp in memory of the victims of the Holocaust of Yugoslavia’s Jews.

US Ramps up Plans for Military Intervention in Syria

The United States and the major European powers are escalating plans for a direct military intervention in Syria.

The aim of US maneuvers, including a flurry of diplomatic visits this week, is to secure the downfall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a key ally of Iran, while putting in place a government that will operate under the control of Washington.

Last week, top US military officials announced that they would be deploying 200 troops to Syria’s neighbor to the south, Jordan. Officials made clear that this was an initial deployment of forces to set up headquarters near the border with Syria, preparing the way for sending 20,000 or more troops in the coming months.

This act of military aggression has been followed this week by a series of threats and pledges for expanded aid to Syrian opposition forces.

Responding to unsubstantiated allegations by Israel that Syria has used chemical weapons, US Secretary of State John Kerry declared at a NATO council meeting in Brussels on Tuesday that it was necessary to “carefully and collectively consider how NATO is prepared to respond to protect its members from a Syrian threat, including any potential chemical weapons threat.”

The Obama administration has previously declared chemical weapons use to be a “red line” that would spark an aggressive response.

NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Ramussen added that the members of the alliance, which includes Syria’s northern neighbor Turkey, “have all plans ready to ensure effective defense and protection of Turkey.”

The chemical weapons claims from Israel are based on photographs supplied by opposition forces relating to a battle that took place near Aleppo on March 19. The Assad regime has claimed that it was the rebels, not government forces, who used the weapons.

Last week, Britain and France made their own charges of chemical weapons use in a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, based on soil samples provided by Western-backed forces.

Russian Foreign Secretary Sergei Lavrov noted that the US and European powers had blocked an investigation into claims of chemical weapons use. “Instead of sending a group of experts to a concrete location near Aleppo, as it was promised,” Lavrov said, “they started demanding the Syrian authority give access to all facilities on Syrian territory. They started to require allowing them to interrogate all citizens on the territory of Syria.”

He added, “It is an attempt to politicize the issue and attempt to give the same requirements to Syria as were given to Iraq long ago, where nuclear weapons were looked for.”

The Obama administration has not yet officially adopted the position that Syria used chemical weapons, seeking more time to prepare its military escalation and put in place and supply a suitable coalition to take power from Assad.

Over the weekend, at a meeting in Istanbul of the 11 “core” members of the Friends of Syria group, Kerry announced the US would double its “non-lethal” assistance to the so-called “rebels” to $250 million.

According to Reuters, a US official said Friday that this aid “could include for the first time battlefield support equipment such as body armor and night-vision goggles.” The news agency continued, “US officials have said in the past that the equipment could include armored vehicles and advanced communications equipment, but Kerry gave no specifics.”

With unbridled cynicism, Kerry—the head of a state that has been stoking up a sectarian civil war in Syria, having inflicted a catastrophe on Iraq—declared that expanded intervention was necessary to prevent Syria from “being torn apart and perhaps breaking up into enclaves [with the] potential of sectarian violence which this region knows there is too much of.”

On Monday, the European Union announced that it too was expanding its aid to the Syrian opposition, while also allowing European importers to purchase oil from pro-Western Syrian groups.

Since the beginning of its efforts to instigate civil war in Syria, the United States has relied heavily on Islamic fundamentalist forces, particularly the Al Nusra front, which recently officially declared its allegiance to Al Qaeda. Saudi Arabia and Qatar have supplied weapons to these forces, while the US has been engaged in covert operations to send Islamist forces from Libya and other countries to assist in the campaign against Assad.

However, as Washington prepares more direct efforts to bring down Assad, there is concern that these forces could come to power, gaining control of chemical weapons stockpiles and posing a threat to US interests and allies, including Israel.

At the weekend meeting where Kerry announced plans to double US aid, he secured an agreement that all funds from the Friends of Syria group would go through the opposition Military Council command, headed by Salim Idriss, a former general in Assad’s military who is now close to the US. The Obama administration is hoping that Idriss can cobble together a government, including sections of the Syrian military, that will serve as a suitable proxy for American interests.

The decision to funnel money through Idriss was, according to Kerry “one of the most important single things that was agreed on” at the meeting.

Obama himself met on Tuesday with Qatar’s Emir Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, a key supplier of weapons to the Syrian opposition, discussing, among other things, the future of arms shipments. Tensions have grown between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, on the one hand, and Washington, on the other, because the two Gulf states have funneled the bulk of their military aid to jihadist militias, including those linked to Al Qaeda.

Obama said that the two countries need to “pursue common strategies” in order to be “a force for good for the entire region.” Speaking alongside the head of the reactionary Gulf fiefdom, he added that the “huge tragedy” in Syria could be resolved if the current government “finds an exit, and new people who believe in democracy take its place.”

US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel is in the midst of a trip throughout the Middle East that includes Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He is finalizing details of a $10 billion US arms deal with Israel, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, directed against Iran. According to the New York Times, the package includes “tilt-rotor Osprey aircraft, which can be used for transporting troops and patrolling borders and nearby seas,” two dozen F-16 warplanes to the UAE, and air-to-ground precision guided missiles to both the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

“Two systems to be sold to Israel—a new generation of aerial refueling tankers and advanced missiles that home in on radar signals to destroy air-defense sites—would be important in any attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities,” the Times noted.

In Israel, Hagel said on Sunday that the weapons sale was “another very clear signal to Iran.” He added, referring to the US and Israel, “This is a difficult and dangerous time, this is a time when friends and allies must remain close, closer than ever.”

Following his meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Hagel stopped in Amman, Jordan for discussions with the monarchy’s top military commander, General Meshal al-Zaben. According to the Washington Post, the two “discussed instability along Jordan’s northern border with Syria and reviewed various contingency plans, including options for dealing with Syria’s chemical weapons stockpile”—i.e., military intervention in Syria.

The massive escalation of military violence in the Middle East, led by the United States, threatens to engulf the entire area in a regional war that could lead to the deaths of millions of people. A regional war could also quickly involve Russia and China, traditional allies of both Syria and Iran.

Only a few months into its second term, the Obama administration is setting a course with catastrophic consequences for the people of the Middle East, the United States and the entire world.

Four Guantanamo Hunger Strikers Reported in Critical Condition

A US military official has reported that four of the inmates on hunger strike at the Guantanamo military prison and torture camp are in critical condition and have been transferred to the prison’s hospital.

Lieutenant Colonel Samuel House also announced on Tuesday that 17 out of the 84 inmates currently on hunger strike at the notorious prison facility are being forced-fed through the nose to prevent further deterioration of their health conditions.

Despite the official’s claim that only 84 Guantanamo inmates are on hunger strike, a number of the inmates’ defense attorneys have reported that all of the 166 detainees at the military prison have joined the hunger strike.

The inmates are protesting their indefinite detention by the US military without any charges and with no right to a legal trial.

One of the Guantanamo hunger strikers who has been held captive at the infamous military camp for nearly 11 years without any charges offered a graphic account of his own participation in the hunger strike in an April 14 article, titled “Gitmo is killing me,” published by the US daily The New York Times.

The 35-year-old Yemeni detainee Samir Naji al-Hassan Moqbel, who wrote the article with the help of an Arabic translator and his US-appointed lawyer, said he had lost over 30 pounds since starting his hunger strike on February 10 and experienced severe pain when force-fed by Guantanamo staff.

“Last month, on March 15, I was sick in the prison hospital and refused to be fed. A team from the ERF (Extreme Reaction Force), a squad of eight military police officers in riot gear, burst in. They tied my hands and feet to the bed. They forcibly inserted an IV into my hand. I spent 26 hours in this state, tied to the bed,” he wrote in part.

“I will never forget the first time they passed the feeding tube up my nose. I can’t describe how painful it is to be force-fed this way,” he added.

The hunger strikes began in early February, when the detainees complained that prison authorities searched their copies of the holy Quran for suspected contraband.

Most of the Guantanamo inmates have been picked up by American military forces in Afghanistan and Pakistan in the aftermath of the US-led occupation of Afghanistan under the pretext of removing the Saudi- and Pakistani-backed Taliban regime and bringing stability to the country.

Who is Behind “Al Qaeda in Iran”?

Global Research

As the FBI reels from what now appears to be revelations it was directly involved in the Boston Marathon bombings, a deluge of FBI “success” stories have been “serendipitously” splashed across Western headlines. Among them was an allegedly “foiled” terror attack in Canada, reported to be the work of terrorists supported by “Al-Qaeda operatives in Iran.” The Globe and Mail, in its report, Canada joins U.S. in alleging al-Qaeda has operatives based in Iran,” states:

“To many, it came as a surprise that the RCMP is alleging that two terror suspects arrested in Canada on Monday were supported by al-Qaeda operatives in Iran.

The Sunni-based al-Qaeda and Shia Iran belong to different branches of Islam that have been at odds historically. But in recent years U.S. officials have formally alleged that Iran has allowed al-Qaeda members to operate out of its territory.”

Both at face value and upon deeper examination, this assertion is utterly absurd, divorced from reality, and indicative of the absolute contempt within which the Western establishment holds the global public. In reality, the West, the US, Saudi Arabia, and Israel in particular, have propped up and perpetuated Al Qaeda for the very purpose of either undermining or overthrowing the governments of Iran, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Algeria, Libya, Russia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and beyond.

Regarding Iran in particular, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh in his 2007 New Yorker piece titled, The Redirection: Is the Administration’s new policy benefiting our enemies in the war on terrorism? would state:

To undermine Iran, which is predominantly Shiite, the Bush Administration has decided, in effect, to reconfigure its priorities in the Middle East. In Lebanon, the Administration has cooperated with Saudi Arabia’s government, which is Sunni, in clandestine operations that are intended to weaken Hezbollah, the Shiite organization that is backed by Iran. The U.S. has also taken part in clandestine operations aimed at Iran and its ally Syria. A by-product of these activities has been the bolstering of Sunni extremist groups that espouse a militant vision of Islam and are hostile to America and sympathetic to Al Qaeda.

In a follow up, Hersh in his 2008 New Yorker piece titled,Preparing the Battlefield: The Bush Administration steps up its secret moves against Iran,” spelled out a damning indictment of US involvement in bolstering, arming, and funding terror organizations, not linked to, but described as actually being Al Qaeda.

Of American support for Al Qaeda the report states (emphasis added):

The Administration may have been willing to rely on dissident organizations in Iran even when there was reason to believe that the groups had operated against American interests in the past. The use of Baluchi elements, for example, is problematic, Robert Baer, a former C.I.A. clandestine officer who worked for nearly two decades in South Asia and the Middle East, told me. “The Baluchis are Sunni fundamentalists who hate the regime in Tehran, but you can also describe them as Al Qaeda,” Baer told me. “These are guys who cut off the heads of nonbelievers—in this case, it’s Shiite Iranians. The irony is that we’re once again working with Sunni fundamentalists, just as we did in Afghanistan in the nineteen-eighties.” Ramzi Yousef, who was convicted for his role in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who is considered one of the leading planners of the September 11th attacks, are Baluchi Sunni fundamentalists.

The report would continue by stating (emphasis added):

One of the most active and violent anti-regime groups in Iran today is the Jundallah, also known as the Iranian People’s Resistance Movement, which describes itself as a resistance force fighting for the rights of Sunnis in Iran. “This is a vicious Salafi organization whose followers attended the same madrassas as the Taliban and Pakistani extremists,” Nasr told me. “They are suspected of having links to Al Qaeda and they are also thought to be tied to the drug culture.” The Jundallah took responsibility for the bombing of a busload of Revolutionary Guard soldiers in February, 2007. At least eleven Guard members were killed. According to Baer and to press reports, the Jundallah is among the groups in Iran that are benefitting from U.S. support.

The manifestation of this insidious conspiracy can be seen playing out across Syria in which US-backed terrorists openly operating under the flag of Al Qaeda are locked in a catastrophic sectarian bloodbath with the Syrian people and the Syrian state’s closest ally, Iran. The conflict in Syria exposes that the machinations revealed back in 2007-2008 by Hersh, are still being carried out in earnest today.

Clearly, US-Canadian claims that Iran is somehow involved in harboring Al Qaeda within its borders, when it has been the West for years propping them up specifically to overthrow the Iranian government, are utterly absurd. In reality, while the West uses Al Qaeda’s presence both within Iran and along it peripheries to undermine and ultimately overthrow the Iranian government, it in turn uses these very terror organizations to induce paralyzing fear across Western populations in order to consolidate and expand power at home.
