A dramatic video tonight emerged of a man with bloodied hands, carrying knives and ranting ‘We swear by almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you’, after a serving soldier was hacked to death by two men just 200 yards from an Army barracks.

The man can be seen and heard talking to the camera. The video came as terrified eyewitnesses saw two men shot by police marksmen after the machete attack in Woolwich, south-east London.

The two men are thought to have waited around for 20 minutes until Metropolitan Police officers arrived and then tried to attack them – but were swiftly shot by armed policemen, including a woman.

They apparently shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’, which means ‘God is great’ in Arabic, and tried to film the attack, the BBC’s political editor Nick Robinson said.

Theresa May tonight called a meeting of the Government’s emergency Cobra committee in response to the machete and knife attack on the man who was wearing a Help for Heroes t-shirt.

The Home Secretary said she had been briefed on the killing by the head of MI5 and police later confirmed they were treating the incident as a possible terror attack.

The Cobra meeting heard that security has been tightened at Woolwich barracks and increased at all London barracks. It was also told there are strong indications that this was a terrorist incident.

Meanwhile Prime Minister David Cameron cancelled a meeting with French President Francois Hollande to return to London. He said Britain has faced similar terror attacks before and added: ‘We will never buckle in the face of it.’

Before the dramatic video of the bloodied man was obtained by ITV News, eyewitnesses said the ‘crazed’ men in their 20s launched a ferocious attack and were ‘hacking, chopping and cutting him.’

In footage released by ITV News, a man with bloodied hands carrying a knife and a machete addresses people holding a camera, where he appears to attempt to justify the incident.

Speaking to those recording the scene he says: ‘I apologise that women had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same.

‘You people will never be safe. Remove your government, they don’t care about you.’

In footage obtained by The Sun, he can also be heard saying: ‘You think David Cameron is going to get caught in the street when we start busting our guns you think politicians are going to die?

‘No it’s going to be the average guy, like you, and your children. So get rid of them. Tell them to bring our troops back so you can all live in peace.’

Following his outburst, the man walks back towards where the victim is lying in the middle of the road. He then speaks to another man as they stand near to the victim.

SHOCKED EYEWITNESS SAYS MAN WAS ‘HACKED, CHOPPED AND CUT’

An eyewitness who watched a man brutally killed with a machete-style knife and dumped in a street tonight dramatically revealed how he watched the two attackers behave like ‘crazed animals’.

The man, known only as James, said he and his partner saw two black men attack a young man aged around 20 in a Help for Heroes T-shirt like he was ‘a piece of meat’.

Fighting back tears, he told LBC Radio: ‘They were hacking at this poor guy, literally. They were chopping him, cutting him. These two guys were crazed. They were just animals.

‘They dragged him from the pavement, dumped his body in the middle of the road and left (it) there.’

He said that after the ‘horrendous’ attack, the two men, in their 20s, stood around, waving knives and a gun, even asking people nearby to take pictures of them ‘as if they wanted to be on TV’.

‘They were oblivious to anything, they were more worried about having their photo taken, running up and down the road,’ he said.

‘They had no intention of running off or leaving or anything. In my opinion, they were waiting for the police to arrive to be shot by the police. That’s the only thing I can think. It’s horrendous what they were doing to that guy.’

Women are later seen bravely tending to the man lying. The footage appears to have been taken before any of the emergency services have arrived at the scene.

Later footage has also emerged from shortly after police fired at two men. One of the men can be seen lying in the road, while the second is laid on the pavement.

The footage taken after the shootings was reported to have been taken by a man who had been on a bus on his way to a job interview.

One eyewitness claimed one of the soldier’s attackers was seen last week preaching in Woolwich.

Jamie France, 29, a local musician, said: ‘I spoke to my mum on the phone and showed her the video footage from the internet. She told me that she recognised one of the men with the knife.

‘She said she’d seen him last week preaching in Woolwich town centre. She said she remembers him because he’d been really angry and was saying all this political stuff.’

Mr Cameron said on Twitter that ‘the killing in Woolwich is truly shocking – I have asked the Home Secretary to chair a Cobra meeting.’

Help for Heroes, the charity whose t-shirt witnesses said the victim was wearing, said: ‘Help for Heroes is appalled to hear that a man, believed to be a serving soldier, has been brutally murdered in Woolwich today.

‘We are desperately saddened to hear of this sickening attack and offer our thoughts and prayers to his family, colleagues and friends.’

Labour leader Ed Miliband, who is cutting short a visit to Germany to return to the UK, said: ‘This is a truly appalling murder which will shock the entire country. All of my thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim.

‘The British people will be horrified by what has happened in Woolwich. They will be united in believing that this terror on our streets cannot be allowed to stand.’

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: ‘The Queen is of course concerned by the report of an attack in Woolwich earlier today. Her Majesty is being kept informed.’

The spokesman also confirmed the Queen will visit the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery at Woolwich barracks on May 31, which was planned before today’s attack.

‘We will never buckle in the face of terrorism’

Prime Minister David Cameron

This afternoon the area’s MP, Nick Raynsford, told BBC Radio 5 Live he believed the victim, a man aged in his 20s, was a serving soldier.

The man is believed to have been hacked to death after a car crash. The scene of the attack is just 200 yards from Woolwich Barracks.

Mr Raynsford said: ‘We think a serving soldier was the victim. We don’t know the circumstances surrounding the incident. We do know a number of weapons have been seized.

‘They include a gun, various knives, and a machete, apparently. The police clearly had to take action in order to try and arrest these individuals.’

He also told Channel 4 News: ‘It is my understanding this man was a serving soldier based at the barracks. He had been on duty in central London and was making his way back to the barracks.’

A statement from the Muslim Council of Britain said it understood the victim was a member of the Armed Forces.

It said: ‘This is a truly barbaric act that has no basis in Islam and we condemn this unreservedly. Our thoughts are with the victim and his family.

‘We understand the victim is a serving member of the Armed Forces. Muslims have long served in this country’s Armed Forces, proudly and with honour.

‘This attack on a member of the Armed Forces is dishonourable, and no cause justifies this murder. This action will no doubt heighten tensions on the streets of the United Kingdom.

‘This is a truly barbaric act that has no basis in Islam and we condemn this unreservedly’

Muslim Council of Britain

‘We call on all our communities, Muslim and non-Muslim, to come together in solidarity to ensure the forces of hatred do not prevail.’

Locals at the scene were warned police may have to carry out a controlled explosion on the attackers’ car.

A father of three, who referred to himself only as Kwamu, said two police officer came to his flat, in a block just yards from the attack on John Wilson Road, at around 7pm to tell him to leave his home.

He said: ‘They knocked on my door about an hour ago, two police officer.  The woman police officer told me to get my family together and get out. She said they think there could be a bomb in the car.

‘I was getting my daughters ready to go outside but when I went down the stairs some people from the block were going in. They told me that police now want us to stay inside. It is very frightening.’

The Ministry of Defence said it was urgently looking at the reports that the incident involved a soldier but had no further comment.

PREVIOUS ATTACK ON SOLDIER

In February 2008 a Birmingham man was jailed for life for plotting to kidnap and kill a British Muslim soldier.

Parviz Khan admitted planning to lure the soldier off the streets with the promise of drugs – then film his beheading.

He was described in court as having ‘the most violent and extreme Islamist views’, and the judge said his aim was to deter any Muslim from joining the British Army.

Khan was ordered to serve at least 14 years in jail.

He added: ‘Our staff treated two others. Both men were taken to hospital, one of them is in a serious condition, the other is not.’

One witness, identified as James, said he and his partner saw two black men attack the young victim with knives, including a meat cleaver. ‘They were hacking at this poor guy, literally,’ he told LBC.

Metropolitan Police Commander Simon Letchford confirmed tonight that the two attackers were shot by armed officers.

He said in a statement: ‘At approximately 1420 we were called to reports of an assault in John Wilson Street, Woolwich, where one man was being assaulted by two other men.

‘A number of weapons were reportedly being used in the attack and this included reports of a firearm.

‘Officers including local Greenwich officers arrived at the scene and shortly after firearms officers arrived on the scene.

‘On their arrival at the scene they found a man, who was later pronounced dead. At this early stage I am unable to provide any further information about the man who has died.

ROYAL ARTILLERY BARRACKS

The incident occurred some 200 yards from the Royal Artillery Barracks, adjacent to Woolwich Common, the historical home of the Royal Artillery.

The barracks, also known as the Woolwich station, now houses a number of the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and independent companies of the Grenadier and Coldstream Guards.

Woolwich Common remains a designated military training area.

The shooting events at the 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympics were held at a temporary venue at the Barracks.

‘Two men, who we believe from early reports to have been carrying weapons, were shot by police. They were taken to separate London hospitals. They are receiving treatment for their injuries.

‘I can understand that this incident will cause community concerns and I would like to reiterate that we are investigating what has taken place today.

Luke Huseyin, 32, who lives in a block of flats on John Wilson Street, Woolwich, close to where the incident happened said he watched two men murder a man before being shot.

He said: ‘I was at home and heard a big bang. I looked out of the window and saw a car had crashed.

‘It was a blue Vauxhall. Then two black guys got out of the car dragging a white guy across the road towards the wall. One of the guys had a knife that looked about a foot long and a machete and the other bloke had a gun.

‘They started slashing him up with the knife and hitting him in the stomach with the machete. I don’t think it took long before he was dead. There were people passing by who were screaming and running away. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Horror: A large crowd gathers at the scene in Woolwich as police and ambulance services arrive after a man was apparently stabbed to death

Probe: An air ambulance can be seen landing at the scene in Woolwich, south London, this afternoon. Two men were later rushed to hospital while a third man died

‘I’m still really shaken up. When he was dead, they dragged him out into the road and left him there. It was strange, they didn’t run off, they just stood there as if they were waiting for the police.

‘It must have taken about 20 minutes for the police to arrive, I think it must’ve been because they were waiting for armed police.

‘The police officers got out of the car and the two black men ran towards them with the gun.

‘The police shot them. They fell to the ground. Then a helicopter landed. Think it must’ve been an air ambulance.

‘The paramedics got out and I think they were working on the two men to try and keep them alive.

‘I don’t know if they died, they were taken away in the helicopter. A blanket was put over the white guy lying in the road. ‘I just can’t believe what I saw.’

Eyewitness: Twitter user Boya Dee wrote that the suspects tried to attack police officers after hacking at a man with a machete

Mother-of-four Julia Wilders, 51, said she was travelling past the scene and saw two men hacking at a man with meat cleavers.

‘Graham was driving and we drove past the car which was up against a lamp post. There were two black guys that looked like they were trying to resuscitate a white guy on the floor.

FIRST TO LAY FLOWERS AT SCENE

A Muslim baker was the first to lay flowers at the scene – and he condemned the attack.

Ahmed Jama, 26, said that local Muslims had been keeping their fingers crossed that the murder was not related to Islamic extremists, and he slammed the attacker’s warped beliefs, adding: ‘This is nothing to do with Islam.’

He said: ‘As a local citizen I feel obliged to do so and to pay my respects to the victim and his family. And obviously I am aware of what happened today and who is claiming to have done it – there is someone claiming to be from my religion and I feel very obliged to so the least that I can do which is to bring these flowers.’

I thought there had been an accident. But then I saw they were using meat cleavers to hack him up.

‘We live just behind where it happened and once we got back we walked back to have a look and that’s when I saw one of the black guys pull out a handgun.

‘My husband screamed at me to get back. I was petrified. As I was running back I saw the police pull up and the black guy was running towards the police car and they shot him.

‘I didn’t see anything else, I just run back home.’

David Dixon is the headteacher of Mulgrave Primary School, which is located about 50 metres from the scene of the incident.

He saw a body in the road after realising something was happening and immediately locked down the school.

He said: ‘It was at the end of our road. As soon as we realised it was serious I went to see what had happened and then told staff to lock down the school and get the children inside.

‘I spoke to police to ask what we should do. There seemed to be a body in the middle of the road. The traffic was backed up and the police were on the scene.

FIRST TERROR ATTACK ON BRITISH STREETS SINCE 2005 LONDON BOMBINGS

Dark day: The July 7 atrocity saw 52 people killed by four suicide bombers on London’s transport network

Today’s killing in broad daylight is thought to be the first terrorist attack on British streets since the 2005 London bombings.

The July 7 atrocity saw 52 people killed by four suicide bombers on London’s transport network. Since then, there have been a number of other plots – the first coming just two weeks after July 7.

Another group of four bombers had attempted to replicate the earlier attack but their plan failed. They were caught and each jailed for life.

With reports of the victim being a soldier, the Woolwich incident mirrors a plot which saw a Birmingham man jailed for life in 2008 for plotting to kidnap and kill a British Muslim soldier.

Parviz Khan admitted planning to lure the soldier off the streets with the promise of drugs – then film his beheading.

He was described in court as having ‘the most violent and extreme Islamist views’, with the judge saying his aim was to deter any Muslim from joining the British Army. Khan was ordered to serve at least 14 years in jail.

Terrorism also hit the headlines in June 2007 when, following an unsuccessful car bomb attack that targeted Tiger Tiger in central London, a flaming Jeep was driven at Glasgow Airport on June 30.

One of the perpetrators, Kafeel Ahmed, died in hospital after suffering severe burns in the attack, while Bilal Abdulla was arrested and given a life sentence the following year.

The most recent planned attack aimed at killing large numbers of victims was in May 2008.

Muslim convert Nicky Reilly was planning to blow up dozens of diners with a nail bomb in in Exeter, but he accidentally detonated the device in the restaurant’s toilet. He admitted the plan and also received a life sentence.

According to M15, there have been a total of 2,291 arrests under the Terrorism Act between September 11, 2001, and 30 September, 2012 and 312 people have been convicted of terrorism-related offences.

As of the end of September last year, there were 107 people serving sentences in UK prisons classified as terrorists.Notable plots in recent years include:

Planned attack: Muslim convert Nicky Reilly wanted to blow up dozens of diners with a nail bomb in in Exeter, but he accidentally detonated the device in the restaurant’s toilet

  • A 2006 plan to blow up aircraft being flown between the UK, America and Canada using liquid explosives which led to 12 people being jailed.
  • A plot to attack UK and US targets with a ‘dirty bomb’ and gas-filled limousines that saw al Qaida operative Dhiren Barot sentenced to 30 years in jail in 2006, and seven other men linked to the plot jailed the following year.
  • Plans to target shopping centres and nightclubs using fertiliser-based explosives that led to five men being jailed for life in 2007.
  • The attempted murder of Stephen Timms MP, who was stabbed by Roshonara Choudry. The student, who was said to have been inspired by extremist sermons she watched on the internet, was convicted of attempted murder in 2010.
  • A plan to attack the London Stock Exchange, which saw nine members of a terrorist network later receive sentences of between five and 17 years each in February 2012.

Three high-profile sentencing hearings took place last month alone.

On April 18, four men from Luton – Zahid Iqbal, Mohammed Sharfaz Ahmed, Umar Arshad and Syed Farhan Hussain – were given long jail terms for their roles in plotting an al Qaida-inspired attack in the UK.

They had intended to carry out terrorist attacks in Luton using improvised explosive devices and all admitted engaging in conduct in preparation for acts of terrorism between January 2011 and April 2012.

British Islamic extremists Richard Dart, Imran Mahmood and Jahangir Alom were jailed for more than 20 years in total on April 25 after admitting engaging in conduct in preparation for acts of terrorism.

They had discussed targets including Wootton Bassett, the Old Bailey was told.

The following day, 11 men from Birmingham were sentenced for their roles in a major terrorist plot. They were said to have been planning suicide bomb blasts that would have rivalled both the July 7 and September 11 attacks.

Six men from the West Midlands also appeared in court last month to plead guilty to terrorist charges connected to an attempt to attack an English Defence League rally in June 2012.

Omar Mohammed Khan, Mohammed Hasseen, Anzal Hussain, Mohammed Saud, Zohaib Ahmed and Jewel Uddin admitted preparing an act of terrorism. All six will be sentenced on June 6.

US-born Naz Tytell says despite his confession, murder convictions didn’t take into account his mental state

Times of Israel

Jack Tytell, an American-born Israeli Jew who faces life in jail for the murder of Palestinians, appealed his conviction to the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

In his petition, Tytell said that in handing down his sentence the Jerusalem District Court had ignored evidence of his mental state, which affected his responsibility for his actions.

During a hearing earlier this year, the court rejected Tytell’s claim he was insane at the time of the murders, finding him accountable for his crimes, which he had confessed to committing.

Tytell was convicted in January of murdering two Palestinians and wounding two Israelis. He was sentenced in April to two consecutive life sentences plus 30 years’ jail time and was ordered to pay NIS 680,000 ($190,000) compensation to the victims’ families.

In April Tytell, in court to hear his sentence, expressed no regret and said he was “proud” of his actions.

Arrested in 2009, he admitted to carrying out at least seven terror attacks that killed two Palestinians and injured three over the course of 12 years. The 40-year-old Florida native also attacked Jews he suspected of missionary activity.

During his sentencing hearing in January, Israel’s state prosecution asked that the man dubbed the “Jewish terrorist” be locked up “until the end of his days” and said he ”trampled, in his actions, every possible value human society is founded upon.”

Tytell’s acts of incitement and calls to replace the State of Israel with a totalitarian Jewish monarchy, along with his encouragement of violence against those who didn’t share his views, were acts that “undermine the foundations of a democratic society,” prosecuting attorney Sagi Ofir said.

Justices to hear case of S. Binyomin Ginsberg, the frequent-flier who ‘complained too much’ about Northwest Airlines

ed note–2 things worth noting here–

1. THE FREAKING SUPREME COURT. As if there weren’t enough REALLY IMPORTANT  things that need sorting out int he US legal system, in addition the SC has to hear a case about a RABBI getting kicked off his frequent flyer program.

2. That once again, as history has proven over and over and OVER again, it is the Jews and their incessant whining, griping, complaining and (as the title of the news piece points out) ‘kvetching’ that is one of the sources of all their problems and of ‘anti-Semitism’.

Times of Israel

The US Supreme Court stepped into a dispute between Delta Air Lines and S. Binyomin Ginsberg, a rabbi who sued Delta-owned Northwest Inc. “after he was kicked out of its frequent-flier program for complaining too much,” the Associated Press reported on Monday.

According to the website Flyertalk, Northwest Airlines dismissed Ginsberg from its WorldPerks Platinum Elite frequent flier loyalty program in June 2008 because he filed 24 complaints within a period of eight months about the airline’s service and sought compensation. Ginsberg, a frequent lecturer, filed a class-action lawsuit in January 2009 seeking $5 million against the airline in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.

Ginsberg flies up to 75 times a year on business, according to a USA Today report on the case. Other outlets have claimed he flies “hundreds of times a year.” The rabbi writes parenting columns for several Jewish outlets and is the education director for Living Lessons.

In an interview with the Minneapolis Citypages in August 2011, Ginsberg said, “This happened at the time that Northwest and Delta were merging. The suspicion was that they had too many frequent fliers at the higher status in their roll, and they were showing too much of a liability on a balance sheet for the accumulated miles by those passengers. So they had to creatively find ways of getting rid of people.”

The District Court dismissed Ginsberg’s original case. But the Ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated it, saying that “Ginsberg could argue whether the airline acted in good faith.”

The current case before the Supreme Court centers around how much freedom airlines have in setting their own policies and prices. The point in contention is the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978 which is meant to prevent lawsuits regarding “price, route or service of an air carrier.”

The case is set to be heard in the court’s fall session, which begins in October.

Racist Zionist confessed to racist aggravated assault of Arabs, causing severe injury to one of them in August 2012 attack in Jerusalem; further plea bargains expected

ynet

One of the teenagers involved in the August 2012 attack in Jerusalem’s Zion Square confessed in the course of a plea bargain to aggravated assault of Arab youngsters out of a racist motive.

During the incident, Jamal Julani, an Arab youth, was severely injured when a group of Jewish youngsters assaulted him and other young Arabs in two central Jerusalem locations.

On Sunday The Jerusalem District Court accepted the plea bargain signed with the minor, who also confessed to causing severe injury to Julani.

Following the attack, indictments have been filed against eight suspects on charges of inciting to violence and racially-motivated aggravated assault.

Another indictment has been filed against a teenage girl who allegedly incited the group to violence.

The indictments deal with two incidents which occurred on the same night, the first of which was the assault of a number of unidentified Arabs in Hahatulot Square, the second being the Zion Square attack.

According to the new plea bargain, the inciting to racist violence charge was removed from the minor’s indictment.

This is the sixth plea bargain signed with those involved in the affair, and further plea bargains are currently in process.

The first and the most lenient plea bargains, exposed by Ynet, changed the charges against two suspects from assault to incitement.

In the course of the other plea bargains, two other suspects confessed to aiding the aggravated assault and a third confessed to causing severe injury to Julani.

An additional plea bargain is expected to be signed soon with the teenage girl involved in the affair, who is charged with cursing Arabs and hitting Julani on the back of the neck. As part of the plea bargain, the girl will be charged with incitement to violence, aggravated assault and causing severe injury.

Likud MK Feiglin: It’s immoral for IsraHell to take US aid

NOVANEWS

Moshe Feiglin (photo credit: Kobi Gideon/Flash90)

In curious interview with little-known US magazine, hardline legislator also suggests America might not survive its current financial woes

Times of Israel

Israel should not accept US foreign aid because it is immoral and allows Washington to exert political pressure on Jerusalem, a lawmaker from the Knesset’s ruling party said in an interview with an American magazine published Monday.

Deputy Knesset Speaker Moshe Feiglin (Likud) also seemed to suggest that the US was doomed to fall due to its economic woes, but that Israel’s survival was guaranteed because the country “carries moral weight.”

“I’m totally against this [US foreign] aid [to Israel],” Feiglin told The New American, a relatively unknown publication affiliated with far-right American politics. “It cannot be when, first of all, the Americans are standing in line like two or three miles in the snow to get a job. To get any kind of aid from America when, economically, we are in a much, much better position doesn’t look moral to me.”

Furthermore, American aid “is not in our favor, not economically, not militarily, not in any way,” the MK told the magazine’s Alex Newman. (He gave the interview last month in the Knesset, but it only appeared on Monday.) “This aid serves psychological purposes, not anything else. We are talking about 1.5 percent of our income, of what Israel is producing — we can definitely deal without it.”

Since World War II, Israel is the largest recipient of US foreign aid, having received a total of $118 billion, most of it in the form of military assistance. Currently, Washington supports Israel with about $3 billion per year.

Newman asked Feiglin about former Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul’s argument that the US administration is using the aid “to obtain leverage over the Israeli government when Israel should be thinking about its own interests rather than what Washington thinks.”

Feiglin responded, “I 100 percent agree.”

A freshman lawmaker from the far-right flank of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party, Feiglin is known in Israel for his controversial views, which range from denying that the Palestinians are a people to advocating on behalf of medical marijuana. In recent weeks, he made headlines for his efforts to allow Jews to pray on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City.

Last month, Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein approved a decision to prevent Feiglin from visiting the volatile holy site for fear his presence there could spark violence and endanger Israel’s security. Protesting the move, Feiglin suspended himself from coalition discipline, vowing to cease all parliamentary work until he’s allowed to visit the Temple Mount.

‘History shows that big empires fall, and it doesn’t look like America today is on the rise’
In the lengthy interview with The New American, Feiglin also espoused the curious view that the US might not be able to survive its current financial crisis, while he is more optimistic about Israel’s future.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen with America — I’m more worried about America than about Israel,” he told the magazine. “I know it sounds maybe a little bit crazy. However, we are a nation of 3,300 years. We have our little ups and downs over our history, but it seems like physically we are stronger than ever.

“History shows that big empires fall, and it doesn’t look like America today is on the rise,” he continued. “So there’s more — from my historical understanding — there’s more to worry about now for America than about Israel. I think — and again, excuse me for saying so — I think America needs Israel not any less than Israel needs America.”

Feiglin said he is aware that his comments sound “a bit funny” — though not because the world’s last remaining superpower is also the world’s strongest economy, but because the US has so many more inhabitants than Israel. “But even though I’m aware of the numbers, I’m still saying what I’m saying because I think that Israel carries moral weight, and also technological and strategic and territorial weight, that is much bigger than its size.”

Based in Wisconsin, The New American is a biweekly magazine affiliated with the American far right. The publication admits to not trying to report objectively and instead having “an editorial point of view,” which regarding foreign policy is based on “avoiding foreign entanglements and going to war only when necessary to defend our country and citizens.”

A man who claimed to be a Salafist-Wahhibist cleric put the word out on Twitter that women should not flip on air conditioners at home because it sends the signal they’re home and that could lead to moral depravities.

The cleric said “turning on the cooler ventilator is prohibited for women in the absenceof their husbands [because] the woman’s act is very dangerous, and may bring about immo-rality in the society. When she turns the cooler on, someone may notice her presence home, and this might bring about immorality,” International Business Times reported.

Salafists and Wahhibists are the ultra-conservatives of Sunni Muslims, hail from Saudi Arabia, and issue frequent fatwas — clerical rulings on Islamic law, IBT reported. In April, another cleric claiming to belong to the Salafist sect posted a YouTube video claiming rape of non-Sunni and non-Muslim women was acceptable, according to the Koran.

He said then, IBT reported: It’s “legitimate fatwa for Muslims waging war against [Syrian President Bashar] Assad and trying to put in place a Sharia government to capture and have sex with Alawites and other non-Sunni, non-Muslim women.”

After months of reportedly going into hiding, the outspoken Tunisian feminist who sparked a trend of “topless jihad” has been found and arrested by Tunisian authorities earlier this week and may be charged for conducting “provocative acts.”

Amina Tyler, 19, was found in the midst of police scuffles with hardline Salafist group Ansar al-Shariah in the central Tunisian city of Kairouan on Sunday.

Tyler previously described herself as a member of the Ukrainian feminist group Femen, which uses nudity in protests.

Witnesses said she allegedly scrawled “Femen” on the wall near the main mosque and may have intended to hang a banner on the building before an angry crowd gathered and started shouting at her to leave, according to The Associated Press.

Video posted by the Tunisian online Nawaat news site shows Tyler, with dyed blonde hair, clutching a banner and being hustled away by police and put into a van as residents chased her.

A local resident shouts at the camera: “She is dishonoring us. We will protect our town, but a dirty girl like her shouldn’t come among us.”

Mohammed Ali Aroui, the spokesman for the Tunisian interior ministry, described her acts as provocative and said she was under investigation and may be charged for her behavior on Sunday. He added that he understood the angry reaction of local residents to her appearance.

The ministry had banned Ansar al-Shariah’s annual conference, citing it as a threat to security and public order, and sent 11,000 soldiers and police to prevent hardline Muslims, known as salafis, from entering Kairouan.

In March, Tyler posted pictures of her topless body with the phrase “my body is my own” scrawled on it, and she went into hiding after receiving death threats. Her family took her to stay with relatives outside the capital before she escaped and hid with friends.

A month later, Tyler had been trying to leave Tunisia, her former lawyer said after a video surfaced in which the woman recounted being drugged and given virginity tests by relatives.

“Free Amina” rallies held by bare-breasted Femen activists hit Paris last month as Tyler’s supporters feared she would soon face criminal prosecution.

Ibragim Todashev, Questioned In Connection With Marathon Bombings, Shot And Killed By Police: Reports

NOVANEWS

By Benjamin HartPosted

Ibragim Todashev

NBC News reports that an FBI agent shot and killed a man who had been interviewed over ties to April’s Boston Marathon bombing.

The individual, identified by friends as 27-year-old Ibragim Todashev, reportedly knew Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the older, deceased Boston suspect through the world of Mixed Martial Arts. He had been initially cooperative with police, according to WESH-TV in Orlando. But at some point during the interview process, he allegedly attacked an officer, who then fired his weapon.

The station quotes a friend of Todashev, Khusn Taramiv, who said he was also interviewed.

“(The FBI) took me and my friend, the suspect that got killed. They were talking to us, both of us, right? And they said they need him for a little more, for a couple more hours, and I left, and they told me they’re going to bring him back. They never brought him back,” Taramiv said.

Taramiv also said that Todashev “felt inside he was going to get shot” by the FBI.

“We are currently responding to a shooting incident involving an FBI special agent,” FBI spokesman Dave Couvertier said in a statement, according to NBC. “The agent encountered the suspect while conducting official duties. The suspect is deceased.”

ORLANDO, Fla. — A man being questioned by authorities in the Boston bombing probe was fatally shot when he initiated a violent confrontation, FBI officials said Wednesday.

The shooting early Wednesday took place in Orlando, Fla., where an FBI agent along with other law enforcement personnel were interviewing the man, identified as 27-year-old Ibragim Todashev.

In a statement, FBI spokesman Paul Bresson said the FBI agent acted on an imminent threat and shot Todashev.

The FBI agent was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An FBI team was dispatched from Washington to review the shooting, a standard step that is taken in such incidents.

Even before his encounter with the FBI, Todashev, a mixed martial arts fighter, had a recent run-in with law enforcement.

He was arrested earlier this month on a charge of aggravated battery after getting into a fight over a parking spot with a 54-year-old man and his 35-year-old son over a parking spot at an Orlando shopping mall. The 35-year-old man was hospitalized with a split upper lip and several teeth knocked out, according to a report from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
“Also by his own admission Todashev was recently a former mixed martial arts fighter,” the arresting deputy said in his report. “This skill puts his fighting ability way above that of a normal person.”

Todashev was released on $3,500 bond after his May 4 arrest. His attorney, Alain Rivas, didn’t immediately respond to a phone inquiry Wednesday.

Police tape blocked off the complex of townhomes near Universal Studios where Todashev was shot.

Jared Morse, who lives in the next building from Todashev’s unit, said he had been watching an NBA game when he heard loud bangs that sounded like gunfire.

“It’s crazy, especially in this neighborhood,” Morse said as he walked his dog. “Nothing like this ever happens here.”

Zio-NAZI al-Qaeda ties out in the open: Kevin Barrett

NOVANEWS

The Syrian government is having more and more success in reestablishing sovereignty over its territory, and so in a last ditch desperate measure this unholy alliance as you put it very aptly, between Israel and al-Qaeda has come right out into the open and the Israelis are bombing the whatever out of Syria on behalf of al-Qaeda.”

Press TV has conducted an interview with Dr. Kevin Barrett with the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance from Wisconsin. The following is an approximate transcript of the interview.

Press TV: Dr. Barrett let’s look at this alliance between al-Nusra and Israel. A representative of the group has recently said that Israel is not the enemy, but the Syrian government. What exactly does that mean for an entity claiming to be Islamic?

Barrett: Well this whole al-Qaeda entity, which is a very-very loose entity, the word al-Qaeda actually means the database and originally referred to a CIA database of Arab Mujahedeen fighters, who were recruited by the CIA and their puppets in Saudi Arabia to go defend the US Empire in Afghanistan.

“Al-Qaeda” including this Nusra Front in Syria has never attacked the Israelis. This is nothing new when they say the Israelis aren’t their enemy. And I agree with Mr. Choudary, he is absolutely correct, they have never attacked Israel and in fact the strange thing about so called al-Qaeda is that in all of the years of its supposed existence, never once has it ever attacked Israel.

Now, there are Israeli soft-targets galore all over the world just waiting for them, but no, who did they attack? They attack Muslims.

Ninety-five to Ninety-nine percent of all the victims and targets of these so called al-Qaeda groups have always been and still are their fellow Muslims. Once in a while they pretend to attack the United States, although we now know that the major so called al-Qaeda attacks in the United States, such as 9/11 and these Boston bombings are false flag events.

So, what we are really seeing here is the so called al-Qaeda, which is now so obviously allied to the State of Israel in Syria, has always been allied to the State of Israel and to the extreme radical pro-empire forces in the US.

That is what 9/11 was, it was a publicity stunt to cause the US to kill millions of Muslims and to strengthen its empire on behalf of Israel.
So, things are becoming very-very clear now and it’s interesting that people like Mr. Choudary, who are just such obvious dupes and patsies of this psychological operation by the Zionists and the Imperialists, are now cheering for the Israelis and saying ‘Oh, yes. We al-Qaeda people have never thought the Israelis were the enemy’. Well, of course not, because they are working for Israel and they always have been.

Press TV: Do you think the insurgents in general are getting more desperate and careless because it seems that they’re strange alliances are now actually becoming more and more clear and being exposed.

Barrett: Well yes I think so and I think that what is really strange is that Mr. Choudary is telling us that the Israelis must be intervening in Syria in favor of Hezbollah and against these insurgents. And of course that is ridiculous; the whole world knows it is the opposite case.

No, the reason that the Israelis are pounding Syria with their bombs today is that their mercenaries are losing. You know, the Israeli mercenaries, who are basically a bunch of terrorists, a lot of them are prisoners that the Saudis, who are puppets of Israel have released from their prisons to go kill people and behead people and blow things up and blow up Mosques and destroy shrines and spread mayhem in Syria, the same things that so called al-Qaeda does all over the world, destabilizing places in service to the Zionist and to the empire.

That is what is happening in Syria, but the whole world is waking up to it. The Syrian government is having more and more success in reestablishing sovereignty over its territory, and so in a last ditch desperate measure this unholy alliance as you put it very aptly, between Israel and al-Qaeda has come right out into the open and the Israelis are bombing the whatever out of Syria on behalf of al-Qaeda.

So, let’s just face the facts, al-Qaeda is Israeli and the State of Israel is a branch of al-Qaeda.

Press TV: Al-Nusra has taken responsibility for destroying that grave (the grave of Hujr ibn Adi in the Damascus suburb of Adral), but in general with this situation I want to talk about the advances of the Syrian military and exactly what that means right now because we saw that when the Syrian military made the latest advances, then all of a sudden Israel, the timing was amazing, as far as the Israelis coming in with these airstrikes.

I want to talk about this alliance and their coordination in your perspective. We see the United States, the UK, Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia continually talking about the need to give more money or to give indirect equipment to the so called Free Syrian Army.

I want your perspective right now about the connection between the victories that the Syrian army has seen recently and then suddenly having Israel coming in and bombing. Mr. Barrett.

Barrett: Well yes, it is amazing how that works, you know, the Israelis are masters at setting up false opposition groups they have actually been caught setting up al-Qaeda cells in Palestine. They have been busted by both Hamas and the Palestinian authority trying to setup fake al-Qaeda cells in Palestine.

Now, as our guest admitted, al-Qaeda is a very loose knit sort of entity and anybody can start an al-Qaeda cell.

So, that group has basically been hijacked and people like Mr. Choudary, who are very-very emotional, but not very cerebral. People like him are not even bringing checkers to a chess game, they are bringing Tic-Tac-Toe (Noughts and Crosses) to a chess game.

So, people like him are being used by the Israelis and just as the Israelis create a “terrorist bombing”, as what they call it, just every time they need a provocation to do what they want to do. They make sure that a terrorist bombing happens at the right moment and of course this doesn’t mean that all attacks on Israel are created by Israel, but many are.

Likewise in this war on Syria, which is an Israeli war on Syria designed to destabilize Syria and create permanent fitna in the Muslim community; pitting Sunni against Shia, they want it to spread from Syria like a cancer spreading all over the Middle East and all over the world. In order to do that, they need this war to go on.

And when it looks like the government of Syria is finally getting a handle on this and chasing out the foreign invaders and being in a position to actually transfer power peacefully and democratically between the Syrian people, not dealing with these outsiders and Imperialists and Zionists, that is the moment when the Israelis choose to come in and start pulverizing Syria with their bombs.

So, obviously the Israelis are working together with al-Nusra and other al-Qaeda inspired groups in Syria, as well as the so called pro-democracy people; they are exactly the same, they are all the same.

Press TV: Mr. Barrett, your take on what Mr. Choudary has just said [that only the Mujahedeen are fighting against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and ordinary of Muslims know worldwide they are fighting a Jihad against an enemy who are allied together].

Barrett: When you look at the polls that is absolutely wrong. Well he is out of his mind, I mean the polls show that well over 80 percent of Muslims have an unfavorable idea of al-Qaeda and the reason for that is two-fold. One is that al-Qaeda is obviously doing everything it can to give Muslims a bad name in the world and number two al-Qaeda is basically a false flag entity created by the enemies of Islam to defame Islam.

So, if he really thinks that Muslims around the world support al-Qaeda, he should go and look at the poll data because it proves that he is wrong.
