Nazi Massacre of Deir Yassin

NOVANEWS

Lest We Forget–The Israeli Massacre of Deir Yassin

“When the LORD your God brings you into the land you are to possess and casts out the many peoples living there, you shall then slaughter them all and utterly destroy them…You shall make no agreements with them nor show them any mercy. You shall destroy their altars, break down their images, cut down their groves and burn their graven images withfire. For you are a holy people unto the LORD thy God and He has chosen you to be a special people above all others upon the face of the earth…”
–Book of Deuteronomy, 7:1-8
“Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.”
Zephaniah 1:13,,
–When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, he will give you a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant…
–Book of Deuteronomy

The state of Israel was established and is sustained on the continuous perpetration of genocides, destruction of whole towns, land theft, home demolition, ethnic cleansing, and terror against Palestinians. The massacre of the Palestinian small town of Deir Yassin in 9th of April 1948; 65 years ago of this week, is just one typical massacre story that details Zionist Jewish Israeli savagery prescribed in their holy book, the Talmud.

Palestine at the time was under the British occupation (Mandate) that ended on 15 th of May 1948. Until that time there was no Israeli government or Israeli army, rather Zionist Jewish militia groups financed and armed by World Zionist Organization and the Jewish Agency. The largest was the Haganah; a secret Jewish terrorist group armed and trained by officers from the British army. The Haganah, later, formed the backbone of the present Israeli army. Within the Haganah there was an elite striking force called the Palmach, who specialized in assassination, terror and demolition. There were also two other smaller underground terrorist groups; Itzel or Irgun founded by Se’ev Jabotinsky the head of the Jewish Zionist Organization, and Lehi or Stern founded by the Zionist terrorist Abraham Stern.

Before the end of the British Mandate the Zionist leaders launched on April 4th 1948 their general expansionist colonial plan dubbed as “Plan Dalet”; a Zionist master offensive military plan with many sub-operations such as Nachshon, Harel, and Maccabi, whose aim was the systematic ethnic cleansing of as many Palestinians as possible and the theft of as much Palestinian land as possible before the end of the British Mandate. The Haganah had committed many massacres against the Palestinian population and had totally razed as many as 400 Palestinian towns. The Haganah thus gained popularity among the Zionist Jews.

There developed a competition between the Haganah on one side and the Irgun and Lehi on the other for popularity among Jews and for political leadership in the perceived future Israeli state. Such gain was achieved by one side in uprooting and transferring Palestinians and in the destruction of their towns and villages more than the other side.

During the first week of April 1948 the Haganah launched Operation Nachshon to carve out and hold a highway passage for their forces from Tel Aviv on the Mediterranean coast in the west all the way to Jerusalem in the interior of the country committing on their way many massacres of Palestinian civilians and demolishing their towns. The Haganah, at the time, was held up still by Palestinian fighters at Al-Qastal; west of Jerusalem and a few miles away from the village of Deir Yassin.

On the other side Irgun and Lehi terrorist groups wanted to gain popularity over the held-up Haganah through a military victory. They chose an easy virtually unarmed defenseless village of Deir Yassin as their target. Deir Yassin was a small Palestinian village located west of Jerusalem with about 750 inhabitants, who lived peacefully with their neighboring Zionist Jewish colony of Giv’at Shaul despite all the political and military conflicts of that time. The two communities had signed a non-aggression agreement between them. Yet, typical of Zionist Jews, who throughout their long history had never honored any agreement they signed with non- Jews, Zionist Jewish terrorist groups of Irgun and Lehi came out of Giv’at Shaul, attacked the Palestinian village of Deir Yassin on Friday 9th of April 1948 and savagely murdered scores of them; men, women and children, blew up their homes and wiped the village off the map.

Irgun was headed by Menachim Begin, who became the 6th Israeli prime minister, while Lehi was headed by Yitzhak Shamir, who became the 7th Israeli prime minister. Israel is the only country where terrorist leaders such as Menachim Begin and Yitzhak Shamir (also Ehud Barak and Ariel Sharon) are rewarded with the position of prime ministers.

In a joint operation coded “Operation Unity” the two Zionist Jewish terrorist groups attacked Deir Yassin in the morning of April 9th, 1948 with the aim of killing as many Palestinians as possible and of forcing the rest out of their homes and land. Driving through the only street leading to the village the attackers were held up by Palestinian snipers using old one-shot hunting rifles. When four attackers were killed the terrorist groups called the commander of the Haganah, David Shaltiel, for help. He sent some of his troops among them a Palmach unit commanded by Mordechai Weg. With an armored vehicle and a two-inch mortar they were able to silence the resistance and occupy the village in a matter of two hours.

A process of cleaning up the village was, then, conducted by the terrorist groups which included the rape of some women, the cold murder of many Palestinians, and the blowing up of homes. Men and women were lined up against the walls in the main street and executed in cold blood. Members of whole families were murdered in their homes even after surrendering. Girls and women were raped and then murdered. The Zionist terrorists had bayoneted the wombs of Pregnant women and crushed the heads and bodies of dozens of children and babies. This cleanup process continued through the next two days, Saturday and Sunday, and demonstrated
the savagery of the Zionist Jewish terrorists.

Members of the Zionist terror groups, themselves, had reported such atrocities. Among the many of them was Yehoshua Gorodenchik, an Irgun physician, reported that they had to withdraw at one time and had decided to murder all prisoners. “We had prisoners and before the retreat we decided to liquidate them, we also liquidated the wounded… we eliminated every Arab we came across up to that point.”

Eliyahu Arbel, a Haganah operations officer, inspected the village and reported: “I have seen a great deal of war, but I never saw a sight like Deir Yassin … largely comprised of the bodies of women and children, who were murdered in cold blood.”

Israeli colonel Meir Pa’el admitted that “The Irgun and Lehi men came out of hiding and began to ‘clean’ the houses. They shot whoever they saw, women and children included, the commanders did not try to stop the massacre …”

Zvi Ankori, who commanded one of the terrorist units at Deir Yassin stated: “I went into 6 to 7 houses. I saw cut off genitalia and women’s crushed stomachs. According to the shooting signs on the bodies, it was direct murder.” (New York Jewish Newsletter in October 1960)

Alfred Engel, a Jewish physician, who was on site, saw that “It was clear that the attackers had gone from house to house and shot the people at close range.”

The most damning graphic description of the massacre of Deir Yassin came from Jacques de Reynier, the then representative of the International Red Cross, who was the first to reach the site. His statement indicated that “there were people rushing everywhere, in and out of houses, carrying Sten guns, rifles, pistols and long ornate knives. They seemed half mad. I saw a beautiful girl carrying a dagger still covered with blood. I heard screams … everything had been ripped apart. There were bodies strewn around… cleaning up was done with guns and grenades, the work finished with knives.” Reynier estimated seeing some 200 bodies, one of a woman, probably eight months pregnant, shot in the stomach. There were also butchered infants. Schoolgirls and elderly women have been raped and then murdered. Ears had been severed to
remove ear rings, bracelets had been torn from arms and rings from fingers.

Journalists Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre had obtained a dossier of 1948 British Mandate criminal investigation into Deir Yassin. According to the dossier, one woman among others described being sexually assaulted while “other women around me were being raped, too.” (Statement of Safiyeh Attiyeh, dossier 179/110/17 GS, “Secret,” quoted in Collins and Lapierre, O Jerusalem! 275,276). According to Collins and Lapierre, the British investigation was corroborated by physical evidence obtained through medical examination of the survivors.

On hearing of the atrocities committed at Deir Yassin the Haganah commander, David Shaltiel, insisted that Irgun and Lehi terrorists never leave the village before burying all the dead. The Zionist terrorist groups refused the order and left the village, so a burial crew was sent to do the job. They hauled about 70 bodies to a quarry, piled them in a heap, poured gasoline and set them ablaze. But when the fire did not do a thorough job, they used bulldozers to fill the quarry with dirt to bury the bodies. (Milstein, Out of Crisis Comes Decision, p. 273; Milstein, “Deir Yassin”)

In an attempt to boost their popularity the members of the Zionist Jewish terrorist groups of Irgun and Lehi loaded about twenty five Palestinian men, women and children into trucks, stripped them naked, and paraded them victoriously through the Jewish Zakhron Yosef quarter in Jerusalem, then they drov back into a stone quarry in Deir Yassin and executed them in cold blood. Harry Levin, a Haganah broadcaster and future Israeli diplomat, recorded seeing “three trucks driving slowly up and down King George V Avenue bearing men, women and children, their hands above their heads, guarded by Jews armed with sten-guns and rifles.” (Levin,
Jerusalem Embattled, 57)

Fifty five children, who survived the massacre, were dumped at the Mendelbaum Gate in Jerusalem. Some of them knocked on the door of Palestinian Jerusalemite Hind Al-Husseini seeking shelter. After hearing about the massacre Al-Husseini rushed to find the rest of the children deciding to care for all of them. She turned her grandfather’s mansion into an orphanage and school calling it Dar Al-Tifl Al-Arabi (Home of the Arab Child). Al-Husseini dedicated her whole life to the orphans of Deir Yassin and to other Palestinian children.

The number of massacred Palestinians was disputed. Most sources, including The New York Times of April 13, put the number of the victims at 254, including 25 pregnant women and 52 children. Many sources had quoted Irgun’s commander, Raanan, who in a press conference, described the massacre as a successful battle and exaggerated the numbers of dead in order the boost the Jewish moral and to frighten other Palestinians into flight. He later explained “I told the reporters that 254 were killed so that a big figure would be published and so that Arabs would panic … across the country.” (Milstein). A 1987 study undertaken by Birzeit University’s

Center for Research and Documentation of Palestinian Society (CRDPS) found the numbers of those murdered does not exceed 120.

The massacre of Deir Yassin has a significant importance in the history of the Arab/Israeli conflict although it was not the first or the last massacre the Israelis committed against Palestinians. Unlike previous massacres of Palestinians and the wiping off of their towns, the massacre of Deir Yassin was the first to be known by the outside world due to its vicinity to the capital of Jerusalem. This allowed the Red Cross to investigate and to report the massacre.

Also, the commanders of Irgun and Lehi had called for a press conference, during which they announced their victory in occupying the first Palestinian town in cooperation with the Haganah’s Palmach forces. Their exaggeration of the number of victims was echoed through press into the Arab and Western capitals resulting in strong international condemnations. Such condemnation embarrassed the Jewish Agency, prompting its leader at the time David Ben- Gurion, to send a telegram of apology to Jordanian King, Abdullah, condemning the “rogue” Zionist organizations of Irgun and Lehi.

Although the Haganah had tried to distance itself from the Irgun and Lehi and to deny its role in the massacre, its full participation is very well known to everybody. The leader of Irgun, Menachim Begin, had admitted on December 28, 1950 in a press interview in New York that the Deir Yassin “incident” had been carried out in accordance with an agreement between the Irgun and the Jewish Agency and the Haganah. In October 1960 the New York Jewish Newsletter reported that Menachim Begin had bragged that “The massacre was not only justified, but there would not have been a state of Israel without the victory at Deir Yassin.”

Mordechai Nisan of the Truman Research Centre of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem wrote an article for “The American Zionist Journal” in which he expressed his concern about the failure to understand the major significance of terrorism in the struggle for Jewish sovereignty. He wrote: “Without terror it is unlikely that Jewish independence would have been achieved when it was.”

Nisan’s statement describes a fundamental fact throughout the three thousand years of Jewish history. Jewish independence and statehood could have never achieved except through terrorism and genocide as prescribed in their religion. Their Talmud commands them to perpetrate genocides against all non-Jews, including women, children and old, even their animals, and to destroy their towns. Check Isaih 13:16-18, Samuel I 15:2-3, Numbers 31:16-18, Deuteronomy 2:34, Deuteronomy 3:6-7, Ezekiel 9:5-6, and Joshua 6:21 for just very few examples of their genocidal religious teachings.

Unfortunately, western countries such as UK, France, Germany, Canada and particularly the US, who claim themselves to be the champions of democracy, freedom, protectors of human rights, and the fighters of terrorism, are providing blind and unconditional financial, military and political support to Israeli state terrorism. I can understand Zionist Israeli Jewish genocidal and terrorist tendencies in lieu of their religion, but I cannot understand western support to such terrorism. I wonder what religion are they, really, prescribed to?

ZIONIST RULERS OF THE GULS the rulers of the Gulf

NOVANEWS
It is the rulers of the Gulf- among others- that allowed Israel to exist and expand and flourish and – even if they helped the Palestinians financially- they stood as an impasse regarding any attempt at liberating Palestine .At the same time they subjugated their people by owning the country itself and the people, which is a kind of syndrome called the Gulf Syndrome and another kind of slavery or genocide and a different version of the one practiced on Palestinians.

During the first decade Israel fared well in the eyes of its masters, with the help of the Saudis who opposed any form of Arab unity as waged by leader Nasser. It could maintain the Arab world in a partitioned condition , it won all the wars and expanded . It is only during the last decades that it started faring poorly . It will be to no avail denying the fact that Israel is undergoing an existential crisis that was never witnessed before , it is the first time that Israel is trying to find an identity of its own . The question of who are we –as a nation- is being raised among Jews and Israelis inside and outside the occupied territories . For this, intellectuals have been mobilized and debates and studies organized and societies and movements created in order to decide the form of identity that Israel should assume .

ISRAEL : WHO AM I ?
Probably the USA is the first Israel and Israel was an Anglo Saxon dream that materialized centuries before Jewish people ever dreamt of a homeland .It materialized in the North Continent and many Israels were supposed to sprout here and there because it is a plan that was meant to spread . The advanced military base that the US created in Palestine under the name of Israel happened at the time when the area was witnessing great changes . The Arab Revolution through which Arabs sought to gain independence -as a nation -was manipulated by the colonialists the same way the Spring Revolutions were manipulated . It led to the partition of the nation where the Gulf dynasties - allies of the colonialists- were installed in the Gulf .

Not only Professors like Finkelstein and Chomsky but also Israelis like Shlomo Sands and Ian Pappe and so many others are looking for an Israeli identity to come up with an answer to the question who are we and under what label should we exist? This crisis originates from the defeat of Israel in the two consecutive wars it launched on Lebanon which caused the dissatisfaction of USA. Shameful defeat at the hand of a handful of committed young fighters with light weapons over the fifth army in strength world wide. If Israel derives its identity from being a military state and an advanced military base for the colonialist powers , then definitely this identity is being strongly shaken by this defeat at the hands of determined local people, and definitely Israel will have to look for another form of identity and a role that will secure its presence and existence as something other than a US and European military power. Now this is not easy, and recovering the old military prestige is no more possible. Israel’s own existence is therefore threatened not by Iran or Hizbullah, and definitely not by a possible Palestinian state, but by the immanent danger of being forsaken by the country that sustains it and caters to it ie: USA. If the presence of the strong Jewish Lobby was enough and if Israel’s existence depended on such lobby this identity crisis would not have occurred in the first place or- at least -would not have taken this dimension.

Now Let’s look at the Gulf countries’ or KSA achievements. Form the constant unhindered flow of oil to the historical fall of the USSR to the Arab fake Springs , we have a chain of victories over here that made the glory of the traditional alliance, in addition to the total subjugation of Gulf Arabs and the desired partition of the nation, not to forget the protection of US and European interests. It is enough to mention the fall of the USSR that could have never happened without its spectacular defeat at the hands of the Islamist fighters of al Qa’ida who are the Arab Afghanis recruited by the CIA in Arab countries , and trained in US with Saudi financing to fight the atheist Soviets in a war that was final in bringing the end of what was called the Soviet Union.

The last but not least victories of this alliance happened not too long ago in Libya where the Islamist recruited fanatics –along with the NATO- overthrew Kaddhafi and handed the country to the NATO in a war where US and allies were spared the severe losses they suffered in Iraq or Afghanistan . Compared to the glorious achievements of this holy alliance that are not over yet, but have spread to Lebanon and Syria ,the Israeli condition that is not able to recover from a limited military defeat, seems indeed pitiable . The primary role is given now to the sectarian Islam and not to the Zionist Jew and US will have to change its heart and it will, and the change that Turkey underwent- from a secular military State to a state dressed with Islamic garbs that will introduce it again to the Islamic and Arab world- tells a lot about what is being favored by the world order nowadays .

Jews ‘furious’ over Scottish church saying they have no claim to Holy Land

Furious community says report ‘reads like an Inquisition-era polemic against Jews and Judaism’

JTA — Scottish Jews said they were “outraged” by a recent Church of Scotland paper which denies Jews any special claim to the land of Israel.

The report entitled “The Inheritance of Abraham” rejects “claims that scripture offers any peoples a privileged claim for possession of a particular territory” and says that “reconciliation can only be possible if the Israeli military occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem and the blockade of Gaza are ended.”

The Scottish Council of Jewish Communities said in a statement posted on its website Friday that the report published this week was “an outrage to everything that interfaith dialogue stands for” and “reads like an Inquisition-era polemic against Jews and Judaism.”

“The arrogance of telling the Jewish people how to interpret Jewish texts and Jewish theology is breathtaking,” the Jewish council said.

It declared that the report “closes the door on meaningful dialogue” and called on the church to withdraw it ahead of its forthcoming General Assembly.

Rising US drone strikes against al-Qaida in Yemen start to fuel anger over civilian deaths

novanews

(Hani Mohammed, File/ Associated Press ) – FILE – In this Monday, April 29, 2013 file photo, a Yemeni man holds a banner during a protest to denounce American drone attacks in Yemen, in front of the U.S. embassy in Sanaa, Yemen. A public backlash is starting to grow in Yemen over civilians killed by American drones as the U.S. dramatically steps up its strikes against al-Qaida’s branch here the past year. Relatives of those killed say the missile blasts hitting their towns only turn Yemenis against the U.S. campaign to crush militants.

By Associated Press

SANAA, Yemen — The cleric preached in his tiny Yemeni village about the evils of al-Qaida, warning residents to stay away from the group’s fighters and their hard-line ideology. The talk worried residents, who feared it would bring retaliation from the militants, and even the cleric’s father wanted him to stop. But in the end it wasn’t al-Qaida that killed Sheik Salem Ahmed bin Ali Jaber.

U.K. Independence Party surged in local elections, routing prime minister’s Conservative-led coalition.

Al-Qaida fighters, who hide in mountain strongholds near the remote eastern village of Khashamir, did call him out, demanding he meet them one night — apparently to intimidate him into stopping his sermons against them.Sheik Salem felt he had no choice but to meet them, but a cousin who was in the police insisted on accompanying him as protection, according to the cleric’s brother-in-law, Faysal bin Ali bin Jaber, who recounted the events to The Associated Press.

“Once they arrived to the car where al-Qaida was, four missiles hit,” Faysal said. At home in the village, he heard the blasts — and heard the U.S. drone that struck the cars. “We know the buzzing sound of the drones overhead,” he said.

Yemeni security officials confirmed three militants, along with Sheik Salem and his cousin were killed in the strike last August and that it was carried out by an American drone.

In its covert fight against al-Qaida in Yemen, the United States has dramatically stepped up its use of drone strikes the past year, scoring key successes against one of the most active branches of the terror network. With more than 40 strikes reported in 2012 and nine so far this year, Yemen has become the second biggest front in American drone warfare, after Pakistan.

But the escalation has meant more civilians getting caught in the crossfire.

Civilian deaths are breeding resentments on a local level, sometimes undermining U.S. efforts to turn the public against militants. The backlash is still not as large as in Pakistan, where there is heavy pressure on the government to force limits on strikes — but public calls for a halt to strikes are starting to emerge.

Several dozen activists protested on Monday near the U.S. Embassy in Sanaa, denouncing the strikes. “The drone program is terrorizing our people,” the activists wrote in an open letter to President Barack Obama. “One never knows where the next drone will strike nor how many innocent victims will die.”

At a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in Washington last week on the drone program, Farea al-Muslimi, a Yemeni whose village had been struck only days earlier, told the senators that drones are “harming efforts to win hearts and minds,” saying drones are now “the face of America” to many Yemenis.

“What violent militants had previously failed to achieve, one drone strike achieved in an instant,” he said.

Faysal bin Jaber said the strike had deepened the fear in Khashamir.

Sheik Salem had spoken in his sermon “about how killing people and labeling people who work with the West as infidels is wrong,” Faysal said.

But after the strike, “everyone who saw that there is no differentiating between us and al-Qaida are asking why don’t we just join al-Qaida since it makes no difference?” he said. The cleric’s widow — Faysal’s sister —now relies on relatives and neighbors for support for herself and her seven children.

Syria will not kneel down!

Proletarian issue 54 (June 2013

Israel’s aggression won’t shake the steadfastness of the Syrian nation’s will. The following statement was issued on 5 May by the Syrian Communist Party (Bagdache).
On the night of 4-5 May 2013, sites in the countryside near the Syrian capital Damascus were targeted by the zionist enemy. The main goal of these attacks was to support the enemies of the Syrian homeland, who are retreating in the face of the courageous Syrian Arab Army, and to raise the morale of the gangsters. The criminal aggression of the zionists is further evidence of the clear truth that the armed gangs in Syria are beasts, flocking to carry out the will of the worldwide gangsters – the imperialists, the zionists and their dirty pimps, including the kingdoms and sheikhdoms of the Gulf, and Turkey, the agent of Nato.

Recent experience demonstrates that the Syrian people’s patriotism is deeply rooted, and that they are unified in the face of external imperialist aggression. No compromise with the imperialists and their agents! No dialogue with the homeland’s enemies, who carry out the imperialists’ will!

In this great national battle, we confirm that our people will be steadfast, regardless of painful or big losses, just as were the people of Vietnam, of Iraq, and of the Lebanese national resistance. These peoples fought against the huge imperialist war machine – that so-called invincible power – and defeated it through their popular resistance.

Such experiences teach us that victory is won when a people proclaims: It is better to die upon your feet than to live upon your knees! The Syrians are such a people.

We say with free people in our homeland and all over the world: Together we will win; Syria will not kneel down!

Syrian rebel commander boasts of new weapons

NOVANEWS

FSA spokesman says arms came from Arab, friendly countries — not US; vows they will bring around a shift in the war’s momentum

Times of Israel

Syrian rebels said Friday they have received new weapons from friendly countries that could lead to changes on the ground and victories against President Bashar Assad’s forces.

The arms shipments arrived recently from Arab nations and other countries, a spokesman for the opposition fighters, Loay AlMikdad, told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.

He did not elaborate on the shipments but insisted no weapons have come from the United States so far.

AlMikdad’s comments confirm earlier AP reporting that new weapons were recently delivered to the opposition from allies, enabling them to stall advances by regime forces in the northern city of Aleppo, Syria’s largest, and elsewhere.

Opposition members and experts had told the AP that Gulf countries delivered earlier this month new anti-tank missiles and some anti-aircraft missiles to rebel commanders.

The U.S. announced earlier this month it had conclusive evidence that Assad’s regime has used chemical weapons, including the nerve agent sarin, on a small scale against opposition forces. The White House said multiple chemical attacks last year killed up to 150 people.

Following the announcement, which also coincided with a new aggressive push by the regime to drive rebels from strategic areas they held, U.S. officials said President Barack Obama has authorized sending weapons to Syrian rebels in a major policy shift.

Obama has said the use of chemical weapons crosses a “red line,” triggering greater American involvement in the crisis.

Syrian rebels have long demanded they be supplied with anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles but some Western nations are worried such weapons could end up in the hands of al-Qaida-linked groups that are fighting in Syria against Assad. The country’s bloodshed has killed about 93,000 people since the crisis erupted in March 2011.

“You will see changes on the ground,” said AlMikdad, the spokesman for the rebel Free Syrian Army, or FSA. “You will see victories by the Free Syrian Army and we will be able to repel attacks on civilian areas. We will be able to protect civilian areas in a better way.”

His comments came hours after the main rebel military commander of the Western-backed FSA first confirmed his fighters had received the new weapons, refusing to describe the weapons or where they came from.

Gen. Salim Idris said they would give his forces more power against government troops and allied Hezbollah fighters from Lebanon.

“I would like to thank the brothers and the friends whom I don’t want to name,” Idris told the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera TV on Friday.

Pressed to comment on weapons from the U.S., Idris only said: “We are waiting, and we urge them to hurry up in supplying us with weapons and ammunition.”

Obama pointedly refused to detail steps his government has recently taken to arm rebels. U.S. officials have confirmed that the administration has approved weapons and ammunition shipments to the opposition, giving little details.

“We believe that the United States will implement its commitments toward us very soon,” AlMikdad said. “We are strong on the ground. We will regain the territories that were taken by the regime.”

“People will see that all the Free Syrian Army needed was weapons to bring down the regime,” he added.

Meanwhile, activists reported that troops pounded several areas around the country on Friday, including the Damascus neighborhood of Qaboun and Aleppo city.

Amateur videos showed smoke billowing from Qaboun as it was subjected to shelling. The videos appeared genuine and corresponded to other AP reporting on the events depicted.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said a Syrian warplane carried out an air raid on Jobar, a key district on the edge of Damascus. It gave no word on casualties.

Also Friday, the United Nations children’s agency UNICEF said that soaring summer temperatures, overcrowding and worsening hygiene are the latest threats facing some 4 million children affected by Syria’s civil war.

“Without enough safe water and sanitation, the likelihood that children in Syria and those living as refugees around the region will fall sick with diarrhea and other diseases is certain to rise,” said Maria Calivis, UNICEF’s director for Middle East and North Africa.

In Syria, the availability of safe water is one third what it was before the crisis, UNICEF said. Of the more than 4.25 million displaced Syrians, many live in overcrowded shelters with insufficient access to toilets and showers. The agency also said the sewage systems are damaged or overwhelmed by the increase in displaced populations.

“I’m doing the right thing, I’m fighting for the right thing. Humanity is worth saving. We’re not perfect, we are never going to be perfect.”, Bermas said during the broadcast as he went on to talk about how individual freedom is important.

In today’s day and age information is everywhere, but you must use discernment.

The “programing” fed to you on the TV you watch has become almost fully overran.

The people demand truth as they realize their country has been overran as well.

The populace of the planet now yearns to be educated with truths their masters have suppressed from them for hundreds of years. As independent thinkers, we need to help get the information to the masses.

Recently, radio talk show host, filmmaker and activist, Jason Bermas, appeared on the series History, So It Doesn’t Repeat”, to talk all about his previous hit documentary films, and his new upcoming film Shade the Motion Picture.

Mark Glenn Exposed

NOVANEWS
Posted by

As you may have heard, Mark Glenn, the host of The Ugly Truth, has been criticized in some circles lately for, well for basically having quite the sun tan. Seems that Mark just isn’t white enough.

Well, we sent the tuyuur here at Mantiq al-Tayr out to Bumfuck, Idaho to get the real story about Glenn. The tuyuur travelled from there to places all over the country interviewing those who know Mark Glenn the most. The results are shocking to say the least.

Please have a seat and make sure you are close to one of your favorite beverages.

The first person the Tuyuur caught up with was one of Marks older children, an extremely well spoken young lady who asked to remain anonymous. After dodging their questions for about 30 seconds she finally blurted out her true feelings.

“My Dad is really, really cool. He can do almost anything – build a house, live off the land, shoot just about any kind of weapon, cook, repair trains, planes and automobiles and write. He looks funny in a yarmulke, but I digress. He even has Ahmedinjad as a drinking buddy. He’s also my second favorite blogger. I just wish my Dad had a blog as cool as Mantiq al-Tayr’s.”

We found that just about everyone in the Glenn family (population 666), said pretty much the same thing – especially about the blogging.

The tuyuur then flew to San Antonio, Texas. They did so via Austin making sure that they passed right over Alex Jones’ house.

Anyway, in San Antonio they found Mark Dankof getting ready to do his show on the TUT radio network – a network that is not owned by Robert Kraft, but I digress.

Anyway, Mark, in his booming voice, made his position clear.

“I’M VERY GRATEFUL TO MARK GLENN FOR GIVING ME A FORUM SUCH AS TUT TO CORRECT ALL THE ZIONIST BULLSHIT WE FIND IN THE MAJOR MEDIA. HE’S A TRUE FRIEND AND HE IS AHMEDINIJAD’S FAVORITE DRINKING BUDDY. HE’S ALSO ONE OF THE FIVE OR SIX PEOPLE IN THE PATRIOT MOVEMENT WHO ISN’T BAT SHIT CRAZY. I DO WISH HE COULD WRITE AS WELL AS MANTIQ AL-TAYR.”

Back in the Bronx, the tuyuur circled around Jonathan Azaziah (pronounced “Tillawi”) Jonathan, as usual utterly unafraid to speak his mind, said to us: “al-salaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullah, inna lillahi winna ilayhi raji’un alhamdu lillah. TUT is good, but Mantiq al-Tayr is way better.” Praise God, rabb al-Alimeen.”

The tuyuur suddenly realized they had made a major geographical error – no they hadn’t said that Tarif Khalidi was born in Jerusalem, Israel since the tuyuur know that the phrase “Jerusalem, Israel” is nothing but a bunch of pure %100 unmitigated Zionist Bullshit, but they did realize that Hesham Tillawi (pronounced “inna lillah inna ilayhi raji’un”) lives in Louisiana, which I just figured out I don’t know how to spell, but I digress. So they got their feathered butts into high gear and flew to Cajun country in order to meet a Palestinian.

Hesham was his usual self. He was getting ready to do his famous TV show, Current Issues, and his guest that night was, I think, Mark Glenn’s favorite drinking buddy. Anyway, Hesham was gracious enough to give the tuyuur a few minutes of his time before the show and after having just led the maghreb prayer in front of 75,000 worshippers in Lafayette – having personally brought Shakira law to the city.

“I’ve known Mark Glenn for years. Thanks to him, and I really do owe him a lot, I’m now on ADL’s hate list. The fact is, TUT is an excellent website and the hosts there are great. TUT is almost as much fun to read as Mantiq al-Tayr.”

Finally the tuyuur ended up in Washington, Israel. There on Knesset Hill they found Mike Piper leading a demonstration in front of the Holocaust Museum. First they asked Mike about his latest book (as of 8:00 that morning) “Confessions of Guy Who Thinks That Too Many People in the Patriot Movement are A Bunch of Assholes” and Mike not only discussed the book at length with them he even autographed their copies.

But then they got down to business. “What do you think of Mark Glenn?” Mike paused for a moment, smiled, and then in his throaty voice came out with his answer. Oh wait, before he did that he told them a joke. “Why was Hitler afraid of going to hell?” The tuyuur moved their beaks back and forth as if to say “we’re clueless”. “Because he knew there’d be six million jews there waiting for him.” Ahem. “Just answer the question Mike.”

“Okay. I probably know Mark better than anyone. I speak with him on the phone at least 10 times a day. Did you know that he’s Ahmedinejad’s drinking buddy?” “Uh, yes, we’ve heard that.”

“Anyway, Mark is one of the most well-informed, active, well-meaning members of the Patriot movement I’ve ever met. I’ve learned more from him than anyone else. I just wish the TUT site was as good as Mantiq al-Tayr’s. There, I said it. Ye shall know the truth.”

“Hey, that’s a good plug for your latest book.”

“Yeah, I just thought I’d get that in.”

“Thanks Mike.” And with that the Tuyuur went off to the ADL to get more dirt on Mark Glenn. The ADL informed us that:

“Even Shas Party members know that Mark Glenn maintains an anti-Semitic conspiracy-oriented blog called “The Ugly Truth,” and runs an internet radio show on which he features numerous anti-Semitic hosts and guests. In a March 2012 Press TV appearance, Glenn compared the situation of the Palestinians to that of European Jews during the Holocaust saying that the Palestinians are “suffering the same thing and worse. . .” “TUT is way better than Mantiq al-Tayr though.”

And I guess that pretty much says it all.

On the Searching for al-Khidr site I don’t really plan to do much in the way of posting videos. But if you’ve read this far you deserve to be rewarded.

And below is Clare Daly speaking her mind.

Can you sing “Happy Birthday ADL”?

Mark Glenn probably thinks he’s related to her too. :-)

TURKISH TORTURE STATE AND NATO PROTECTED The Turkish Spring: Lawyers

NOVANEWS

These arrests, detentions, and seizure of property—including confidential client files—violate the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. The cases are pending in the Special Heavy Penal Courts, which have jurisdiction over “terrorism” proceedings. Their use of secret evidence and repressive procedures have been condemned by several international and regional human rights monitoring bodies and mechanisms.
The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers, Gabriela Knaul, who recently visited Turkey, strongly criticized [PDF] the Special Heavy Penal Courts, saying their “special authority” does not comply with human rights standards on fair trial, and they should therefore be abolished.A group of 500 lawyers who went to the courthouse to protest the lawyers’ detention in January were assaulted by police. The Istanbul Bar Association lambasted the unlawful raids as an “explicit attack towards the legal profession and its honor, as well as the people’s right to legal remedies.””When I visited Istanbul as a representative of IADL in April, I met with officers of the Istanbul Bar Association, and I spoke with lawyers who had been arrested and released after the January raid. Some are members of CHD.
Many specialize in defending victims of torture, arbitrary detention, extrajudicial executions, police brutality and other human rights violations. They also provide free legal assistance in terrorism-related cases, and those involving freedom of expression or protection of the environment. Because of their work in defending clients who challenge government policies, CHD lawyers have been targeted by the government and the police.Knual also reaffirmed the principle that a government should not identify lawyers with the causes of their clients. The United Nations Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers mandate that governments ensure lawyers are able to perform their professional functions without intimidation, hindrance, harassment or improper interference.
They also provide that lawyers shall not be identified with their clients or their clients’ causes as a result of discharging their functions. The president of the Istanbul Bar Association has been accused of contempt of court for protesting the January detentions of lawyers. According to the 2010 US State Department country report on Turkey, there are more than 10,000 people suspected of “terrorism” in Turkey (one-third of the world’s terrorism suspects). Several hundred students, as well as army officials, journalists, lawyers, academics, Kurdish activists, nationalist activists, soldiers and members of the Turkish parliament are in prison, Gulay said. Marjorie Cohn is a Professor of Law at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, past president of the National Lawyers Guild, and deputy secretary general of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers. Her next book, “Drones and Targeted Killing,” will be published in 2014 by University of California Press.
“NATO is one of the essential dimensions of Turkish foreign and defence policy. Turkey has been an important member of the Alliance and a reliable Ally for 60 years.” Ambassador Haydar Berk, Permanent Representative of Turkey to the North Atlantic Council
