Perp Walking Myself?

by Jim Craven/Omahkohkiaaiipooyii

Introduction: The Perp Walk

The “Perp Walk” is a classic institution in American culture. Actually, given the presumption of innocence prior to trial and verdict, it should be called “The Alleged Perp Walk” [DSK?]. This occurs when law enforcement tips off the mainstream media, often their favored reporters, the ones who know how the “Access Game” is played, that they will be transporting a prisoner, an alleged “Perp” or perpetrator of a crime, in handcuffs of course, for some photo-ops. Of course “The Perp” is mainly a stage prop for those who caught him [“Yes, ‘Your’ law enforcement is on the job”] and those covering the “Perp Walk” [“Yes, ‘Your’ mainstream media is on the scoop”]. Bernie Madoff got pushed around a bit when he was “Perp Walked”; and Lee Harvey Oswald, well his Perp Walk did not turn out well for him or for Jack Ruby who shot him on prime-time; but it did boost a whole “Conspiracy Theory” industry on the JFK assassination.

NORRIS: How did this come to be such standard practice in New York City in particular?

Mr. KRAJICEK: There’s some dispute, but it’s been happening in New York City for most of a hundred years or so. And it’s probably actually J. Edgar Hoover who’s responsible. Hoover knew that it was great PR for citizens of America to see one his public enemies in handcuffs. You put somebody in handcuffs and surround them by cops, they look guilty. I mean, Gandhi would look guilty in shackles and chains.

JEH largeax205-0cbc-9jpg-b7bb13b4de0d508c

Well I am a law-abiding citizen. Am I capable of breaking an unjust law? Yes, but in the same spirit as Mahatma Gandhi I would do so openly, as an act of conscience, and accept the punishment that goes with it. It would be to show, with solid documentation, facts and higher law, open protest and refusal to obey and thus be complicit in what I regard as injustice; and even sometimes to show breach of the spirit and intent of the very law I am charged with breaking by those who are the real lawbreakers playing games with words.

But as I read this FBI Flyer urging me to report potential terrorists, well I am wondering if I should do my duty and report or whistle-blow on, and then “Perp Walk”, myself. And what would happen if others who also found themselves potentially on this FBI Flyer did so also.

Right-wing Extremists?

Now I do not think I am any kind of “extremist” and certainly not “Right-wing”. But I am a defender of the U.S. Constitution although I do not know what “defender” in quotes in the FBI flyer is supposed to mean or imply except that those who call themselves defenders of the U.S. Constitution may well not be the real deal and even subverting and trashing it.

FBI books

JEH clint-eastwood-hoover-biopic-j-edgar-enrages-former-fbi-agents

This expose would have not been published when J Edgar Hoover, a serial extortionist, blackmailer, hypocritical homophobe, who serially trashed the U.S. Constitution yet after whom the FBI Headquarters Building, of the “Justice” Department is named, was still alive.

. But yes I have taken, twice, an oath to uphold, support, protect, defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. And Yes, I do not believe that I can invoke the U.S. Constitution or any law for the protection of myself and loved ones and yet turn around and break or breach those very same laws I invoke for myself and loved ones. And yes, those enemies of the U.S. Constitution may well be elements within the U.S. Federal Government, or in State Government or in the UN (are there not former government employees now in jail convicted of treason, bribery and other high crimes and misdemeanors?) but I also know people in government I have the highest respect for.

I am not involved in paramilitary or survivalist training but I fail to see what is illegal in it, or what gives indication of potential for terrorism per se. Go to any Barnes and Noble and they have whole sections of books and magazines on these subjects with many people interested in them. Shall we turn in all bookstores that carry their literature? What about the Boy Scouts were they not set up to provide, in addition to being the inspiration for Hitler Youth, survivalist and para-military training? What about the Police Explorers? What about Civil Air Patrol? Are these not all paramilitary?

Hate Groups:

Nothing here fits with me. Not guilty. Never been to any meetings of any of the groups listed nor knowingly met any of their members. But again, is the holding of certain ideas, even offensive to the “mainstream”, some kind of basis, “probable cause” or “reasonable suspicion” that a person may be a terrorist or harbor both the intention as well as propensity for terrorism?

Common-law Proponents:

Nothing here fits with me except: a) I will, as a matter of basic rights, request reason and authority for a stop by law enforcement or anyone; b) I do make references to the U.S. Constitution, the Supreme Law of the Land, but I do not know how “numerous” they are or what constitutes (how many? in what time period?) “numerous” references to the U.S.Constitution; c) As for “policing the police”, not only am I for it, but apparently the Federal and State Governments Offices of Inspectors General and departments of Internal Affairs of various law enforcement agencies are supposed to believe in it also. Are they “terrorists”?

Left-wing Terrorists:

Yes my views are commonly viewed as “Left-wing” and “radical” (as in the root of the word in Latin “Radix” or “root” as in getting to the “radix” or root of an issue). Yes I have read both Marx and Lenin extensively and think they both, flawed human beings as I am and we all are, offered penetrating insights on many issues. But I do not know even one real Marxist or Leninist who is a terrorist or in favor of any kind of terrorism. Marxists and Leninists believe that capitalism, as a system, is an historical system (with pluses and minuses; and with minuses increasingly outweighing pluses as capitalism ripens at oligopoly and monopoly stages) and not the end of history. They believe that the system ultimately ends under the weight of its own internal contradictions, vicissitudes and crises, when its Mr. Hyde side becomes more and more evident relative to its Dr. Jekyll side. Just as Slavery emerged out of the contradictions and dissolution of primitive communalism, just as feudalism emerged out of the contradictions and dissolution of slavery, just as capitalism emerged out of the contradictions and dissolution of feudalism, the imperatives of human survival and threats to the planet from the logic and trajectories of capitalism will force some kind of new system not necessarily through force or insurrection but possibly.

Marx and Lenin both vigorously denounced terrorism on various levels: it is unjust and hurts innocents; it makes more enemies than friends; it represents petit-bourgeois infantilism and the need for a few theatrical results over the substance of patient and protracted mass work with the masses who are the real makers of history; it gives credibility and power to those claiming to be anti-terrorists who are often terrorists themselves under the banner of counter-terrorism or counter-insurgency;

So I am confused because I have never known any “left-wing” terrorists nor have I ever read anything from Marx or Lenin that would sanction or encourage any forms of terrorism: which can be defined as any set of tactics that direct, impose, or are indifferent to any forms of, violence or coercion imposed upon non-combatants lacking the intent, training and means to defend themselves.

Single-issue Terrorists:

Although I am concerned with some of the “single-issues” mentioned on the list, I am on record as against single-issue “moments” in lieu of multi-dimensional/issue movements that focus on how and why all these “single-issues are not “single-issues” at all.

I do not know what “targeting law enforcement” means. If it means causing any harm to a law enforcement officer I am against it. If it means holding especially law enforcement accountable to obeying the same laws they are supposed to enforce, I am all for it. If it means “policing the police” and holding them accountable to the same laws we are all accountable to then I am for it. What a novel concept: that those who carry guns and are charged with law enforcement, law creation or adjudication should obey the law themselves in the course of their duties and not be exempt from the very laws they are charged with enforcing, evolving or adjudicating. That idea makes one a “potential terrorist”?

From what is given on this FBI Flyer, I am wondering if I should call the media and tell them when I am presenting (“Perp Walking”) myself to FBI as a possible “terrorist” or perhaps “thought criminal” according to their flyer and very “loosey-goosey” definitions and non-definitions of a who is a terrorist or potential terrorist. Of course Maybe that would be better than a drone over my house because someone “FEELS” I may be a threat to someone or “potential Terrorist” and thus no “need” for a warrant, an indictment, an arraignment, a trial, a judicial verdict, a sentence, or any appeals prior to execution.

If I turn myself in or report myself, would that make me a snitch or a whistle-blower or both?

Given all the screw-ups of FBI and other law enforcement relative to stopping 9-11,given the legacy of J Edgar Hoover and his soul mate Clyde Tolson of lawlessness and contempt for the U.S. Constitution (J. Edgar was no “terrorist” who made “numerous references” to the U.S. Constitution or tried to “police the police”), how can I be sure the FBI will handle my whistle-blowing or snitching on myself? I mean when the former Director of the NSA, Lt. General William Odem, certainly no “Left-wing Terrorist”, no “single-issue Terrorist”, no “Common-law Proponent”, no member of any “Hate Group”, right-wing for sure [but “extremist”?] blows the whistle on terrorism and nothing is done about it well…

The second perverse policy is the so called “Global War on Terrorism.” As many critics have pointed out, terrorism is not an enemy. It is a tactic. Because the United States itself has a long record of supporting terrorists and using terrorist tactics, the slogans of today’s war on terrorism merely make the United States look hypocritical to the rest of the world. A prudent American president would end the present policy of “sustained hysteria” over potential terrorist attacks, order the removal of most of the new safety barriers in Washington and elsewhere, treat terrorism as a serious but not a strategic problem, encourage Americans to regain their confidence, and refuse to let al Qaeda keep us in a state of fright.” in American Hegemony: How to Use It, How to Lose it

FBI does have some games online to practice the Perp Walk as a gimmick for recruitment and public relations.

Duty Under Law:

The basic predicate of all Law is that it must be clear, understandable, not vague so that an average reasonable prudent person can understand it so as to be able to comport himself to it. No one can claim in Court either ignorance of the Law nor lack of ability to understand it because of not being a trained lawyer. Another predicate of the law is it must be universally applied without fear or favor not only to encourage mass respect for and obedience to the Law as law enforcement resources are always stretched thin, but also because only a psychopath or sociopath believes they are immune from and not accountable to the very same Law they invoke for their own interests and protection of themselves and any loved ones [that is if psychopaths and sociopaths would be capable of loving anyone but themselves].

Here is the Law and it is Clear:

Federal Crime Reporting Statute

The federal offense of failure to disclose a felony, if coupled with some act concealing the felony, such as suppression of evidence, harboring or protecting the person performing the felony, intimidation or harming a witness, or any other act designed to conceal from authorities the fact that a crime has been committed.

Title 18 U.S.C. § 4. Misprision of felony. Whoever, having knowledge of the actual commission of a felony cognizable by a court of the United States, conceals and does not as soon as possible make known the same to some judge or other person in civil or military authority under the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

OK, What if I have a basis to believe crimes may have been committed and/or are being committed?

OK, now if I have a good-faith-basis to believe that one or more felonies have been committed or are about to be committed, and especially if I am a public employee bound by another set of laws that private-sector employees are not bound by, and especially if I am seeing real harm or the potential of real harm to real people, where do I go?

The Law has an answer:

A federal judge, or any other government official, is required as part of the judge’s mandatory administrative duties, to receive any offer of information of a federal crime. If that judge blocks such report, that block is a felony under related obstruction of justice statutes, and constitutes a serious offense.

Upon receiving such information, the judge is then required to make it known to a government law enforcement body that is not themselves involved in the federal crime.

OK, What if I have been to various Courts and Law Enforcement Agencies and with supporting evidence of crimes causing real harm to real people?

Then There is this:

Another federal statute exists for reporting high-level corruption in government:

Title 28 U.S.C. § 1361. Action to compel an officer of the United States to perform his duty. The district courts shall have original jurisdiction of any action in the nature of mandamus to compel an officer or employee of the United States or any agency thereof to perform a duty owed to the plaintiff.

This federal statute permits any citizen to file a lawsuit in the federal courts to obtain a court order requiring a federal official to perform a mandatory duty and to halt unlawful acts. This statute is Title 28 U.S.C. § 1361.

These two statutes are among the most powerful tools in the hands of the people, even a single person, to report corrupt and criminal activities by federal officials−including federal judges−and to circumvent the blocks by those in key positions in the three branches of government. That statute was also repeatedly blocked by federal judges and Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Progressive” Mainstream Media Supports the Destabilization and Balkanization of Syria

Global Research

Since the onset of the Syrian crisis, Martin Chulov of the Guardian has continuously been one of the most prominent “journalists” whose coverage, to put kindly, has been skewed beyond any recognition of objective journalism. His narratives have systematically relied on sectarian overtones and cherry picked “activist” quotes from such bastions of objectivity as the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Chulov has gone to great to lengths to portray the conflict in simplistic and sectarian terms: “Assad the Alawite, versus the Sunni majority.”

The large part of Syrian society that ardently support their president has gone largely unmentioned in his coverage. The larger still part of Syrian society that simply want the war to end, and the militants to leave their towns and villages so they can attempt to rebuild their lives have been callously brushed aside by war-profiteers such as Chulov; who willingly ignore the much larger sections of Syrian society that don’t abide his bias narrative. Chulov perniciously attempts to lead the reader to believe the whole Syrian public is fighting against a regime and its security infrastructure. The simple fact that the majority of men fighting the Salafi/Jihadi dominated rebels within the Syrian Army itself are Sunni Syrians belies his whole false sectarian narrative.

Chulov’s latest article is no exception. The sectarian melodrama is set in the title: “Sunnis fear Assad wants to ethnically cleanse Alawhite heartland”, in usual fashion, Chulov plays on manufactured sectarian fear and a growing western narrative that Assad is planning on building an “Alawite enclave” in the western provinces of Syria reaching to the Mediterranean coast, the heartland of Assad’s Alawite sect.

The sub-title, illuminates Chulovs simplistic rendering and the basis for his “Alawite enclave” theory:

“Homs land registry fire and handing out of arms to villagers fuel concerns that an Alawite-Shia enclave is being formed in Syria.”

Chulov lays the foundations of his theory with these basic facts, Assad is arming “farmers and villagers”, ie: Syrian men of military age, that are willing to fight the extremist dominated insurgency Chulov has propagated and promoted for the best part of two years. Yet Chulov is eager to portray these farmers and villagers (Syrians) as “evil Shabiha” intent on sectarian cleansing.

And, lo and behold, the land registry in Homs has burnt down! It seems Chulov has forgotten Homs has been a conflict zone for quite some time, constantly under bombardment from either rebels, or the SAA attempting to remove them. This includes a massive air and artillery campaign on the SAA’s part. Again, it is beyond Chulov’s wildest imaginations that this particular building may well be under government auspices, therefore a prime target for his beloved rebels. Indeed, since the very first week of the crisis in Daraa, militants attacked Government buildings and offices – often setting them ablaze. In Chulovs investigative mind, there is only one explanation: “the “Shabiha” set the land registry ablaze to remove proof of land-ownership, his anonymous source, in an almost Sherlock-Watson moment of journalistic drama confirms Chulovs suspicions: (my emphasis)

“What else could be going on?” asked one resident who refused to be identified. “This is the most secure area of the city and it is the only building that has been burned. A conspiracy is underway.”

Once more Chulov relies on anonymous sources and vague rhetoric to underline that the fire was undoubtedly set by “regime forces”. Chulov tells us “eyewitnesses” (no names of course) and “employees” (employees of who exactly he is not clear) recall seeing flames in the upper floors of the ministry and regime forces in the floors below. The regime forces couldn’t possibly have been stationed there, inside a government building, or maybe even attempting to put the flames out. No, the only plausible explanation is that regime forces set the blaze then dutifully stood around in the floors below waiting for the ceiling to collapse, in public view of everyone, even “employees”!

Chulov takes us on his sectarian fantasy of Homs, he leads us to believe that regime controlled areas are no longer multi-ethnic towns under the auspice of government, (as they have been for decades) these towns have morphed into “Alawhite only” areas. Chulov fails to even mention that since the ontset of the crisis it has been predominantly the “rebels” he that have ethnically cleansed virtually every town or village they have entered, the examples are long and numerous. On the odd occasion rebel “liberated” towns and villages havent been completely emptied of civilian residents, the rebels have quickly laid sectarian demands upon Christian and Shi’a communities; engaged in summary executions, torture, imprisonment, and forced displacement, all on the basis of sect.

The oft-referenced town of Qusair is possibly the prime example of the duplicity inherent in reports from western “journalists” such as Chulov. He failed to show an ounce of “concern” back in 2012 when rebels entered Qusair and immediately forcibly removed all Christians living there (the vast majority of residents left at the same time, as has been the case in most rebel “liberated” areas). Indeed, he failed to even report on the rebel cleansing of Qusair. Chulov would find it extremely difficult to find a single town or village “liberated” by the extremist dominated rebels that hasn’t seen some form of ethnic cleansing, but these uncomfortable truths do not fit with his skewed narrative.

In fairness Chulov does attempt to offer some “balance” in his article, one whole sentence alludes to the mass exodus of Alawite’s from rebel held areas in the north of Syria (he doesn’t mention the thousands of Christians that have also been ethnically cleansed, nor the thousands of Sunnis that have left rebel-held areas due to the fundamentalist doctrine of the Salafi/Jihadi rebels forced upon them). Chulov explains this minimal episode of ethnic cleansing as a result of northern Syria being dominated by jihadists, giving the reader the false impression that rebels in other regions are not the jihadi type.

Literally every piece of information Chulov uses to bolster his “Alawite enclave” narrative is a secondary source form a rebel leader/militant, an activist, or an anonymous source. He again tells us that the whole of the North of Homs has been “emptied of Sunni’s” and replaced with Alawites, the empirical evidence he provides? “Local leaders claim”. Leaders of what and whom Chulov fails to reveal. The sectarian narrative Chulov has relied upon bears fruit once more, and again in the form of an “activist” account: (my emphasis)

“There have been obvious examples of denominational cleansing in different areas in Homs,”said local activist, Abu Rami. “It is denominational cleansing; part of a major Iranian Shia plan, which is obvious through the involvement of Hezbollah and Iranian militias. And it’s also part of Assad’s personal Alawite state project.”

One must seriously take this man for his word, obviously an “activist” (a common euphemism for armed opposition rebel in western media) is in a prime position to understand the workings of “Iranian Shia plans” and Assads “personal projects”. Maybe the Syrian Observatory told him, just after Assad and Ayatollah Khamenei relayed their plans to the man in Coventry. Chulov once again offers zero empirical evidence to back these claims and is quite literally engaging in opposition stenography. (a favourite pastime of Chulov’s going by his work on Syria for the past two years.)

Chulov spends the remainder of the article theorising and speculating on the regimes alleged sectarian motives, all on the basis of his vague and anonymous “sources”. He tells us, quite incredibly and with no shame in the lack of journalistic integrity that “diplomatic sources in the region” – presumably the same “diplomatic sources” that have erroneously declared such falsehood as “Assads days are numbered”, which Chulov has dutifully repeated in his articles ad nauseam – have relayed that Assad is not only planning an “Alawite rump state” in the west of Syria, but the first countries Assad is making overtures toward to secure this “rump state” are his biggest enemies: (my emphasis)

Over the past six months, diplomats in the region have claimed that contingency planning for a rump state to protect Syrian Alawites has involved diplomatic contact being made by senior Syrian officials with enemy states. A mediator – a well-known diplomatic figure – is understood to have been asked by Assad to approach the former Israeli foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, late last year with a request that Israel not stand in the way of attempts to form an Alawite state, which could have meant moving some displaced communities into the Golan Heights area.

It seems Chulov is unwilling to acknowledge, or realise, that Israel is the only regional state that has overtly and opportunistically attacked Syria since the crisis erupted. It makes absolutely no sense for Assad to make overtures and relay plans to one of his biggest threats, and a state that actively conspires with the jihadi dominated opposition. Chulov also conveniently omits the fact that the “plan” he so eagerly propagates Assad is intent upon is the exact “optimal scenario” Israeli military leaders have put forward for their ideal outcome of the Syrian crisis.

How very convenient that the “optimal scenario” for Israel (and its allies in their attack on the Syrian state) just happens to be the precise narrative Chulov and others are going to great lengths to propagate. Let me be clear, Western/Israeli media is propagating the idea that Assad is attempting to build an “Alawite enclave”, because that is the exact scenario the west and its allies who are attacking Syria are intent upon. If Assad cannot be removed – which is becoming more and more unlikely without overt western intervention – then the US, Israel and their Gulf allies will attempt to “Balkanise” the Syrian state.the Syrian state

Senate Threatens to Sanction Countries That Aid Snowden

The Senate Appropriations Committee said Thursday that they want the Department of State to consider imposing sanctions on any nation willing to assist NSA leaker Edward Snowden.

Edward Snowden has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for his “heroic effort” in revealing the extent of the U.S. government’s vast surveillance programs. (Photo: campact/cc/flickr)

A hearing held by the 30 member, bi-partisan Senate committee Thursday afternoon in Washington ended with a unanimous decision by way of voice vote to move towards sanctioning countries coming to the aid of the former intelligence analyst.

Snowden, 30, has been charged with espionage and other counts by the United States for leaking classified National Security Agency documents to the media. He has been on the run from authorities for nearly two months and is currently in Moscow awaiting the results of an asylum request filed with Russia’s Federal Migration Service. Should the Kremlin come to Snowden’s aid, however, some lawmakers in the US say the State Department should respond with sanctions.

On Thursday, one of the leaker’s most vocal critics in Congress succeeded in having his colleagues advance a bill that directs the Secretary of State John Kerry “to consult with the appropriate congressional committees on sanction options against any country that provides asylum to Mr. Snowden, including revocation or suspension of trade privileges and preferences.”

The bill’s author, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), told the committee, “I don’t know if he’s going to stay in Russia forever. I don’t know where he’s going to go . . . But I know this: That the right thing to do is to send him back home so he can face charges for the crimes he’s allegedly committed.”

An indictment against Snowden was unsealed last month while he was reportedly in hiding in Hong Kong. Just hours later, Snowden surfaced in Moscow and has since been confined to the transit area of the Sheremetyevo airport.

Snowden filed asylum requests with more than 20 countries, and has been offered assistance from Bolivia, Nicaragua and Venezuela. Earlier this week he met with his attorney at Sheremetyevo, who then told RT that Snowden is seeking Russian’s permission to stay in the country indefinitely.

He’s planning to arrange his life here. He plans to get a job. And I think that all his further decisions will be made considering the situation he found himself in,” attorney Anatoly Kucherena told RT.

Sen. Graham previously demanded Russia remove Snowden from the country and suggested the US boycott the Sochi Olympics if Pres. Vladimir Putin agrees to keep Snowden safe from the reach of American authorities. Last month Graham called the ordeal “an important test of the ‘reset’ in relations between our two countries,” and said, “If our two nations are to have a constructive relationship moving forward, Russian cooperation in this matter is essential.”

On multiple fronts, Russia is becoming one of the bad actors in the world,” Graham said previously. “Russia continues to provide cover to the Iranian nuclear program and sell sophisticated weapons to the Assad regime in Syria to butcher tens of thousands of its own citizens. For Russia to grant temporary asylum to Mr. Snowden on top of all this would do serious damage to our relationship. It is past time we send a strong message to President Putin about Russia’s actions and this resolution will help accomplish that goal.”

Speaking to the Senate committee on Thursday, Graham added, “When it comes to Russia, it’s just not about Snowden.”

They are allying with Iran, 100,000 Syrians have been killed, they are providing weapons to Assad that are getting in the hands of Hezbollah. And really enough’s enough,” the senator said of Russia.

Since Snowden surfaced at Sheremetyevo, the Obama administration has made repeated demands for Russia to honor their extradition request. White House press secretary Jay Carney said earlier this week that officials on both side of the pond remain engaged in discussion, and refused to comment on allegations that Pres. Obama might postpone a trip to Moscow scheduled for later this year.

Should the full Senate advance Sen. Graham’s measure further, Sec. Kerry could be asked to intervene in the matter. Imposing a sanction against a country for refusing to extradite a US citizen could set an extraordinary precedent, though, as such embargoes are currently reserved for nations accused of arguably more heinous behavior. Among the countries currently sanctioned by the US are Belarus, Burma, Cote d’Ivoire, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Zimbabwe.

That isn’t to say Russia hasn’t been hit with sanctions from Uncle Sam as of late. Earlier this year US officials passed the Magnitsky law, in turn imposing financial and visa sanctions on certain Russian officials involved in the case of Sergei Magnitsky.

The Epic Fail of the IsraHell State

by Yukon Jack

Israel is many things to many people, but it is failed state. It can not exist unless it shamelessly wages war on everyone not Jewish inside and outside her borders, she has failed because she was stopped in the autumn of 2012, she reached a limit, where her military enforcement arm, the United States refused to wage war against Iran.

March 2nd, 2012 Netanyahu instructs Obama to bomb Iran. Notice the flags, both heads of state have their heads over the Star of David. It would be more appropriate if the United States flag was on the floor with only Israeli flags in the background. This obsession with Israel is really tiresome, when is America going to face up to her abuser?

Obama blinked, I am surprised he still lives – you don’t mess with the Zohan Netanyahu – Obama is a minion of Jewish money power and must do as he is told by his bosses, if not they will replace or sacrifice him. The sad state of affairs in the United States is a whore of Israel, she does whatever she is told, nearly every military leader and politician is eager to please Israel and AIPAC. This unwillingness to attack so outraged some that even the Atlanta Jewish Times called for the assassination of a sitting President.

“The owner and publisher of the Atlanta Jewish Times, Andrew Adler, who suggested Israel should assassinate U.S. President Barack Obama, has resigned from his post, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reported yesterday.”(1)

Writers and historians should take note of Jewry’s behavior in this case and compare the policies of JFK that lead to his assassination, did Israel assassinate JFK over his policies concerning Israel? Michael Collins Piper thinks so, in his latest book Final Judgment he concludes that Israel is the prime suspect over the riff JFK was having with Ben Gurion’s nuclear ambitions.(2) Was the Israel nuclear program a way to blackmail the West into submission to Rothschilds’ demands? Is that why they had JFK murdered? Then we have the curious coincidence of General Dempsey’s plane being attack upon arrival at Bagram Airbase just after telling Netanyahu in Israel that the United States would not have Israel’s back if they attacked Iran.(4)

Strategic Shift in Policy Underway

So what happened within the beltway to cause this strategic shift in behavior? Why didn’t the whore go down on Iran? Why is the whore refusing to be a whore? Mark Glenn ( speculates that the whore is refusing to commit suicide. Politically savvy Mark Glenn thinks that the US military establishment gamed the Iran war, saw they would lose and have no belly for another fight in the Middle East. After the Afghanistan-Iraq experience the Pentacon bureaucracy is having second thoughts about jumping into every Israeli generated quagmire. “My, my, my, once bitten, twice shy.”

The case gets ever more intriguing, just last year author of the Grand Chessboard, Zbigniew Brzezinski, states forthrightly that the United States isn’t the “stupid mule” that follows Netanyahu around like that dumb elephant.

youtube: Brzezinski: US won’t follow Israel like a stupid mule

ZBig the BigZ is wondering outloud about our foreign policy goals in the Middle East. Currently we have no plan, waffling, sorta playing along. We need to exert bold new ideas, a plan with Israel pushed to the sideline, America should defang Israel, and make friends with the oil producing nations, we should be friends with all nations. That is the rational thing to do when you have a nation that uses more oil than anyone else. Israel doesn’t have oil, America’s allegiance to Israel is irrational, she has nothing to gain and is losing everything.

America has lost all moral authority backing the Jewish state. It’s a total loss and she won’t gain it back anytime soon. American military power has been greatly reduced by allying with Israel. Israel is the only country that uses F-16′s to bomb its own civilians on a regular basis, these jets built and paid for by Americans. America supports Israel no matter how costly, everything has gone down the drain just as Helen Thomas said. Maybe we should get the hell out of Palestine, and take our military toys back with us from that sand box hell.

24 MAY 2011, Netanyahu addresses the United States Congress and receives a record 29 standing ovations.(3) Israeli leaders should always address Congress while standing on the American flag. (Keep this video handy in case you need to induce vomiting: I just love how Bibi believes that Israel is a democracy that allows dissent, lol, tell that to Rachel Corrie’s parents.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Joe Biden, John Boehner

Our elected representatives clap like penguins high on crack for this man, who said: “Once we squeeze all we can out of the United States, it can dry up and blow away.” ~ Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, 2002.

Netanyahu’s Political Failures

A few Evangelicals think Netanyahu is the antichrist. They cite Bible verses, the proverbial antichrist suffers a “head wound” then recovers, Bibi’s suffered the loss as “head of state” in 1999 then recovered in 2009 becoming Prime Minister again. Add to this that he is the “first born”, he is the first Prime Minister to be born in Israel. He also speaks with the authority of the dragon, another antichrist attribute, he holds attention of the world leaders. He got his authority from the world’s foremost financial power, the Satanic worshipping Rothschilds (dragons). I second Kevin Barrett’s motion, Netanyahu for antichrist has my vote.(8) Netanyahu was originally called Ben Nitay (9)(anagram ANTI) and is a dead ringer for the “little horn” of Daniel, a leader of a small nation that holds the attention of all the world. Regardless of whether the antichrist title fits, I would argue that he actually isn’t that effective in persuading the world to do his bidding.

Netanyahu works tirelessly to defend his nation against the existential threat of all the world’s peoples, anti-semites, all of them.(10) He doesn’t take any back talk from goy slaves, when the USA turned down his request for bombing runs over Tehran, he immediately tried to assassinate US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey (~24 August 2012). General Dempsey, errand boy of the Obama administration, almost got killed in the backlash of Netanyahu’s explosive rage. Netanyahu’s anger is exposed in his appearance at the UN a month later, he makes a bold faced bomb threat. This proves, I believe, that General Dempsey was targeted by Netanyahu himself, he couldn’t get to Obama so he went for the messenger on his turf.

When Bibi E. Coyote didn’t get his way, he threatens the world with a Looney Tunes cartoon bomb (Netanyahu speech to the UN General Assembly, 28 Sep 2012)

super genius plan

Netanyahu’s appearance at the UN was classic, better than a prime time sitcom. Mark Glenn thinks the crazy coyote was making a bomb threat on the floor of the UN, I agree.(6) For all the world saw the immature mindset of the sitting prime minister of Israel, a suited mafiosa thug on the floor of the United Nations making bomb threats at the world. Israel has failed to intimidate, she is now a coffee table joke. Netanyahu’s speech bombed, lol, the rest of the world does get it, they saw a loon and wants to bomb every one of their neighbors off the map. Netanyahu’s message was, “obey me or else”. Yeah we know what you are going to do, bomb something somewhere because that’s all you do mister Prime Minister, but we are not going to obey you because you are a tyrant and we are not afraid of pathological lying belligerent psychopaths.

Because of the President’s failure to obey his master, Netanyahu then decides to oust Obama via the election of 2012. But once again, the internet doomed the fronted Republican sleazebag, exposing Mitt Romney as a close associate of Netanyahu, who both worked at Bain Capital, a Mossad asset stripping corporation run by gangster Israelis. Bain became the bane of Bibi. Mitt was so slimy that many Mormons of good standing wouldn’t vote for him, he got less Mormon votes than GW Bush.(7) Netanyahu’s plan to oust Obama by backing Mitt Romney ruse failed, this was a repeat of the failure of getting his other stooge John McCain, “Bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran” into office. Bad karma or bad luck, the Universe wasn’t going his way. Netanyahu has to regret that he was out of office during those Republican years whose party bombs early, bombs often, bombs on the flimiest invented pretexts. “They hate our freedums – BOMB THEM!” sayeth Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Bill O’Reilly, etc. etc. Elephants are sure easily moved with a mere bag of peanuts.

King Bibi’s strategeries have failed, he didn’t get his apocalyptic war, he didn’t get to be the big bad wolfie antichrist, he wasn’t the PM during the Iraq bombing campaigns. Bibi’s luck ran out with the Democratic election of Barack Obama, Obama waffles, delays, stalls, he doesn’t have that blood lust like a good Republican reptile and not to mention that behind the scenes policy makers and Joint Chiefs got some balls and said no. That’s what happened, they decided not to commit suicide in King Bibi’s bomb Iran plan.

The energy that had been building, the millions of sound bites and propaganda barrage pummeling America into war with Iran was diffused by simply saying no. Poof! All the Jewish media magic vanished into thin air when Obama said no. lol Rationalism triumphed over apocalyptic lunacy, Armageddon was called off. The antichrist was stopped, the abuse stopped because the abused said no to the abuser. We need to keep the pressure on Washington to not do anything stupid, like the current involvement in Syria. The Pentagon needs to do some house cleaning and rid itself of the Zionist crazies and dual Israeli loyalists, and don’t forget to run AIPAC out of town, maybe tar and feather a few of those lobbyists for good measure. General Dempsey is sounding quite rational these days, he doesn’t like any of the options concerning Syria, we should support him.

Israel is now doomed to disappearing from the annals of history or facing radical reform. The European financial interest that created her is about to throw the towel in, their vision of a one world banking empire has reached a upper debt limit, they can no longer afford Israel, the Rothschild debt cartel is teetering on a derivative implosion of epic proportions. I believe that Rothschilds are going to cut their losses short on their Israeli experiment, they are going to cut her loose. How do I know? Prophetic intuition? I have it straight from the horse’s mouth, Henry Kissinger, who recently said ‘In 10 years, there will be no more Israel.’(5)

It’s not to early to call it, Israel has failed, Israel is the failed experiment of the Rothschild banking dynasty, Israel has become a joke of a nation with threatening its neighbors with cartoon bombs and siphoning off huge amounts of weapons and monies from its host nations, who are completely bankrupt. Israel has cost America $350 billion thus far by some realistic estimates.(11) And where did Rabbi Dov Zakheim sock away that missing $2.3 trillion from the Pentacon? What about that missing gold from the WTC, or the Federal Reserve that refuses to audit the Bundesbank gold, is their any gold at Fort Knox or the JPM vaults, who has the world’s gold? All we need is a debt implosion and this support will be cut off faster than a lingering fart in a hurricane.

America will eventually come to its senses, the DC whorehouse is going to throw the two-bit Madam back into the street, no one wants the employment of an ugly old whore and the threats of her pimp daddy Netanyahu.

Is Israel the Private Mercenary Army of Rothschilds?

Rothschilds are the wealthiest banking dynasty in history, they have everything except one thing, they don’t have their own private army. So if you were them what could you do? Create their own nation, fund it secretly, use it to get what they want: oil, Arab oil, the vast seas of underground Arab oil. Where would you locate that new nation, near those oil fields that you covet? Was Israel the stepping stone to Middle East oil fields?

Things have changed since the 1970′s, the oil corridor has moved to the other side of the planet. Do the world’s large oil multinationals still covet the Arabian oil fields now that the Canadian and Venezuela proven reserves are far larger than the greatly depleted Saudi fields? The Saudi estimates of recoverable oil are probably exaggerated, advanced recovery technique of injecting saltwater into wells to force oil out is now yielding more salt water than oil.

So how do we get oil? Since our current policies have failed, we have not gotten all that Iraqi oil as promised by Rumsfeld, may I suggest we go back to that old fashion way, we buy it. We should buy it in United States Dollars, not Federal Reserve Notes. The Federal Reserve needs to be nationalized and Rothschild taken out because the reason we war is to prop up the debt pyramid. By pulling the plug on debit based money we uncouple ourselves from the chains of debt, we no longer have to wage endless wars of stimulus for the banking system. We also would not need to be associated with the bully boy Netanyahu and his state of agitation.

The Holohoax Limit

There is a limit to everything, including the Holocaust extortion racket. Even if the Holocaust was true there would be a limit, but it isn’t true, it is another Hollywood production, a modern myth used to extort money from Germany and America. Israel was built on stolen through deception money, what happens when the bleeding to the point of comatose host catches on? It is only a matter of time time bankrupt America stops the checks to Tel Aviv.

The Holocaust storyline doesn’t stand up to scrutiny, and this shouldn’t be surprising if you understand who is telling you the story. Billions of dollars siphoned off and wasted creating misery for Palestinians, who are currently being treated worse than the Jews under Hitler. The world see this and sympathy for Israel is drying up, the endless Holocaust whining is losing its effect, the suffering world doesn’t feel much empathy for the endless lies of the Jews.

The 70 year bailout of Israel is over, bankrupt western economies aren’t going to keep shoveling money into the Israeli bottomless pit of pain and misery. The world needs to force change on Israel by first taking out Rothschild banking dynasty, defanging Israel, create a new state in the region. Maybe its time for the Rothschild Zionists to admit their experiment failed and join humanity. Ah but they won’t so maybe its time for the cruise missiles to set sail for Rothschild private estate.

Imagine world peace and prosperity, its starts by taking out the criminal Rothschild banking dynasty. The world doesn’t need them, their scheming wars, or their debt based currency scam. The immediate result of ridding the world of these scumbag banksters is full employment. Since Iceland arrested its bankers and charged them with treason, Iceland now has almost no unemployment, the lowest of any European nation, and all mortgage debt gone – they erased it because it was fraudulent. Think about it, any nation can have almost immediate full employment by deshackling itself from usury debt. Imagine an entire nation owning homes debt free.

All humanity needs is the will in order to free itself from Rothschild usury. Once we decide that we have had enough then we simply push a button and the Rothschild problem is instantly vaporized. Maybe we can time it during one their baby sacrificing rituals, send them all back to hell.

missiles into rothschild

Its time to hold the Armageddon Lobby Accountable

We do not have to put up with this insane lawless terror by inbred billionaires and neither do we have to put up with the war making god lobby led by Hagee, Robertson, etc.(12) Maybe its time humanity to hold the Evangelical community accountable for their pro- Israel, pro-Zionist beliefs – maybe they should be sued under the RICO act for promoting terrorism, genocide, and war because that is exactly what they are doing. Its not a right to worship evil and harm humanity because of Biblicaly inspired blood lust of forcing a mythical savior to return. For those who think Israel is forever and ever forget why Israel even exists, I say this in my first essay on VT:

“…But that presents a huge problem, if god is an ancient superstition then what claim do Jews have to Palestine? None, none whatsoever. In fact the Jews have no legal claim even though most of the world is under a Jewish legal system. But that’s not what the fearless leaders of Israel say, they claim Almighty God gave them that land, ain’t it funny how “Almighty” God took thousands of years to get the Jews back to their land. That smells fishy, don’t you think?

Israel is unique because it is a nation based on a belief that God promised the Jews some land. Never mind the fact that the Jews wrote the book concerning this claim. No god means no Israel. Think about that, and think no American believers also means no Israel, so one can surmise that Israel only exists because of what Americans believe. It isn’t just weapons and bank loans, it is a belief that floats Israel…”

“Belief floats Israel” and beliefs are fleeting, for they are based on wishful thinking, mind memes, not reality. Evangelical terror has run its course. We experienced it, watched it unfold, the Depleted Uranium birth defects and maimed soldiers, children buried alive in rubble. The Fundamentalist horror movie has run its course. We survived their abuse and should be disgusted with these believers that are trying to help Almighty God find his way back to planet earth.

“Ari Shavit wrote in Israeli daily Ha’aretz on April 3, 2003 that “the war in Iraq was conceived by 25 neoconservative intellectuals, most of them Jewish, who are pushing President Bush to change the course of history. Two of them, William Kristol and Charles Krauthammer, says it’s possible“. Now, the same two Zionazis are leading the ‘bomb, bomb Iran’ campaign.

In November 1963, Israeli Mossad operatives assassinated US president John F. Kennedy for refusing to help the Zionist entity become a nuclear power. The “official” story said the lone assassin was Oswald, who was later killed by a Zionist Jew Jack Ruby (aka Jacob Leon Rubenstein). Eighteen other material witnesses met mysterious death within three years of JFK assassination.”

By Abandoning Our Faith and Knowledge (READ) — We Muslims Are Responsible for the Implosion of Our World

By Mohamed Khodr

In The Name of God, The Most Merciful, The Most Gracious

“Alif. Lam. Ra,   A Divine Revelation (Qur’an) which We have bestowed upon thee from on high in order that you (Prophet Muhammad) might bring forth all mankind, by their Lord’s leave, out of the depths of darkness into the light; onto the way that leads to the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due”.     (Qur’an:  14:1)

“It is He Who sent down to you (Prophet Muhammad) step by step, in truth, the Book (Qur’an), confirming what went before it; and He sent down the TORAH and the GOSPELbefore this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion of judgment between right and wrong”. (Qur’an: 3:3)

To Muslims around the world this is the holy month of Ramadan, a month in which the Holy Qur’an was first revealed to our beloved Messenger Muhammad (pbuh).   It is a month of fasting not only from food and drink but from all vile acts in words and deeds.  It is a month of prayers, extra giving in charity, of acts of kindness toward others, a month of reflection, meditation, daily reading of the Qur’an with reasoned contemplation of its meaning.

The question that should burn with fierce fire in the minds and hearts of every Muslim is; what happened to us?

Why are we alone in the world stagnant and lagging behind, despite our enormous wealth, in every indicator of human development in a world moving forward toward more democracy and economic prosperity from Latin America, to Africa, to the Sub Continent of Asia and China?

The Qur’an already answered this question when dealing with the puzzlement of the Muslims after their defeat in their second battle against the Meccan polytheists, the Battle of Uhud in 625 C.E., when in the previous year despite meager numbers they won a miraculous victory in their first battle against the Meccans, in the Battle of Badr.

In the different outcomes of these two battles is a profound eternal lesson for Muslims.   They won the first battle due to their strong faith and obedience to the Prophet’s instructions.   They lost the second battle because they disobeyed the Prophet’s instructions on the conduct of the battle.

God answered their puzzlement regarding their defeat in the second battle when they expected God to once again assure them of victory despite their disobedience of the Prophet.   God makes clear that their defeat was due to their own disobedient fault.

“Now that you have suffered a setback, and even though you inflicted twice as much suffering (upon your enemy in the first battle of Badr), you said, “Why did this happen to us?” Say, “This is a consequence of your own selves”. God is capable of all things”.     (Qur’an:   3:165)

We as Muslims have only ourselves to blame for the state of chaos, anarchy, violence, terrorism, civil wars, assassinations, wide corruption, intolerance of others, and wide acceptance (with few unresolved exceptions) of the most greedy, self serving tyrants in the world who’ve sold themselves, our land, our resources to the enemies of Islam so that they may preserve their rule.   While like spoiled children they splurge and waste our wealth on worldly pleasures and invest in western economies, the Muslim world lives in poverty, hunger, illiteracy, sickness, corruption, injustice, vast unemployment, lack of housing, desperation, hopelessness, and the largest proportion of world refugees in need of the most basic necessities of life.

From North Africa, to the Middle East, to Myanmar the Philippines and China, Muslim refugees are dying of hunger, thirst, sickness, lack of shelter, persecution, ethnic cleansing, and mass murder, while the oil rich Arab rulers are competing to build the world’s tallest towers, building luxurious sports arenas, including an indoor ski resort in the desert of Dubai, an underwater hotel, and spending tens of billions of dollars in hosting the Olympics in the desert of Qatar..

Yes we can blame our dictators, America, and Israel, but in the final analysis it is our fault that we silently accept our current destiny and allow our western serving tyrants and foreign enemies of Islam rule, dominate, rob our wealth and resources, and manipulate our fate and the fate of our children.

The primary goal of the west is to destroy Islam and wipe out Arabic, the language of the Holy Qur’an from our lives and world.   Thus far they are succeeding and they will if we are shamelessly silent, ignorant, and apathetic…

The Holy Qur’an is quite clear and explicit as to what we Muslims must do before expecting God to help us recover from our current appalling and miserable state of affairs.

First, we must take the initiative to change ourselves in terms of studying, understanding, and uniting in our faith and under the banner of “There is no deity but God, and Muhammad is His Messenger”.   It was with just this simple powerful faith and bond that Muslims reached the pinnacle of Islamic civilization and spread Islam from Spain, to China, and Indonesia.   No Muslim armies went to South East Asia, China, and Indonesia.   The beautiful, simple but powerful message of Islam was enough to save the lives of hundreds of millions of people from darkness into the light of God’s truth.

Knowledge in all fields must be our second priority if we are to strongly and productively compete in the world and have the strength to defend ourselves, our lands, and free our people from oppression and illegal occupation from all foreign occupiers.

God in the Holy Qur’an makes it quite clear that we must take the initiative to return to His obedience and worship before He guides and blesses us to victory over all evil and darkness in our world.

“Truly, God does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.”   (Quran 13:11)

How tragic that Islam and Muslims today are only known and identified with wars, sectarian violence, terrorism, suicide bombers, massacring of the innocent in mosques, schools, hospitals, and the marketplace; destroying our own cities and towns and whatever infrastructure existed, depriving people of life, freedom, security, food, water, electricity, medicines, even the murder of foreign aid workers who are risking their lives to help us and help our children, oppressing and subjugating our honorable women and young girls to rape, beatings, acid attacks on their face, cutting off bodily appendages, forcing them as young children to marry much older men, denying them education and health care, robbing and bribing corrupt officials, and labeling each other as unbelievers in Islam.

This is NOT Islam nor can it ever be justified under any circumstance as emanating from the Holy Qur’an or the Prophet’s teachings.   This is nothing but evil madness out of the realm of all reason.

We Muslims are our own greatest enemy and are the crusaders du jour in destroying God’s merciful gift to all humanity.

Acid thrown on this young girl’s face for no reason. According to the terrorist group, the TALIBAN, this is Islam.

A 12 year old Afghan girl, child bride, tortured by her husband and in Laws. The guilty party was released from jail.

“One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world. Education is the only solution. Education first.”

Malala Yousafza at the U.N. Watch the VIDEO

In what mad world can the Muslim terrorists justify such barbaric criminal actions against these young girls.   Afghanistan is unfairly being focused on by the media as the main victim of such barbaric terrorism but such barbarity goes on in every Muslim nation with no exception.claim they are following the teaching of Islam.  Why aren’t these terrorists telling the world what and where in Islam is this justified?

Perhaps the greatest tragedy that still continuing to this day is the loss of Palestine by selfish, greedy, ignorant yet arrogant and incompetent Arab leaders.   These bedouin tribal leaders out of the Arabian desert sold themselves to the British pound, abandoned their faith, sold their lands, resources, peoples, and the fate and destiny of the Palestinian people condemning them to a life and existence as refugees in and out of their homeland.

And for what?   So that the two son of Sherif Ali of Mecca and Medina would be gifted and appointed by the British to rule the newly British-French creates Arab states of Iraq and TransJordan in gratitude for his and his sons help in joining the British to fight the Ottoman Turks.

Muslims joining Non-Muslims to invade and annihilate Muslim nations has been a consistent pattern for Muslims who’ve abandoned their faith to gain honor with the West that continues to this day in Egypt, Syria, Palestine, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and other Muslim nations..

Here’s an incredible LETTER dated March 3, 1919 written by Emir Feisal, son of the Sherif of Mecca and future puppet King of Iraq, to the Felix Frankfurter, President of the Zionist Organization of America and future Supreme Court Justice, informing him that the Arabs are happy to cooperate with the Zionists to steal Palestine and declare it a Jewish State.

From the Letter, Emir Feisal writes:

“We Arabs . . . look with the deepest sympathy on the Zionist movement. . . .  We will do our best . . . to help them through:  we will wish the Jews a most hearty welcome home.”

The Holy Qur’an is quite clear and explicit as to what we Muslims must do before expecting God to help us recover from our appalling state of affairs.  We, first, must take the initiative to change ourselves in terms of understanding and living our faith, in terms of acquiring knowledge, being productive and constructive in our environment, peacefully coexisting in true brotherhood,  Then we can pray to our Creator for deliverance from this evil darkness that has befallen our world.

“Truly, God does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.”  (Quran 13:11)

We’ve abandoned Islam, the Qur’an, and the Prophet’s Teachings:

Given the vast illiteracy and thus ignorance of Islam the major expression of the faith that still exists in the vast majority of the Muslim world are the rituals of the call to prayer and the prayers themselves, fasting, pilgrimage to Mecca for those who can afford it, and the obligatory and charitable alms giving for those who can afford it.

A Muslim scholar years ago calculated that the obligatory Zakat, or alms giving, of just the six oil rich Arab states would amount to $32 Billion a year.   That would lift every Muslim out of poverty yet its unknown if its given and if so where is it going.

Just as an example.  It is estimated that the Saudi Prince Talal bin Waleed’s conservatively estimated worth is $20 Billion.   Simply using the single and simplest calculation of paying 2.5% as the minimum obligation for a Muslim’s payment of Zakat per year that would amount to $50 Million.   Imagine how many children this money can feed or immunize in besieged and forgotten Gaza.

Please watch and listen to this very brief video of a 5 year old Muslim boy expertly and correctly reciting the Holy Qur’an, the book that anchors and emotionally tugs at every Muslim heart whether one can read or understand the Qur’an or not.   It takes many years of study and training with expert scholars for a Muslim to understandably and correctly recite the Qur’an.  At the end of this brief video you can watch a young Muslim girl recite the Qur’an as well.

“AND the Apostle (Muhammad) will say: “O Lord!  Behold, [some of] my people have come to regard this Qur’an as something that ought to be discarded!”    (Qur’an:  25:30)

“VERILY, as for those who have broken the unity of their faith and have become sects – thou hast nothing to do with them.  Behold, their case rests with God: and in time He will make them understand what they were doing”.     (Qur’an:  6:159)

We are failing and falling behind the rest of the world precisely because we’ve abandoned our faith and replacing it by adopting and imitating the misguided, hollow, purposeless and meaningless western culture that is not anchored in truth and reality but whose populace find relief, distraction, and entertainment in their search for temporary pleasures.

Muslim disunity and internal conflicts has been violently exacerbated by our division into sects and alleged political and religious parties who are in constant strife that has deteriorated into civil wars.

Tribalism now reigns supreme in the Muslim world.

God in the Qur’an warned the Muslims of such a calamity.

But they (who claim to follow you) have torn their unity wide asunder, piece by piece, each group delighting in what they themselves possess [by way of tenets”.      (Qur’an:   23:53)

“VERILY, as for those who have broken the unity of their faith and have become sects – thou hast nothing to do with them.  Behold, their case rests with God: and in time He will make them understand what they were doing”.     (Qur’an:  6:159)

For decades Arab and Muslim tyrants have totally ignored the well being of their population especially the large proportion of young people.   Time and neglect of their education, employment opportunities, health care, providing them with affordable shelter and marriage opportunities, failing to nurture them in the true teachings of Islam, and allowing mass corruption to rule the land turned these young people into a desperate, purposeless, and hopeless population becoming ripe for the extremists who provide them with a job, salary, purpose, structure, organization, and who indoctrinate them that killing Muslim women and children serves the greater good and purpose of God who demands that the slaughter of the Un-Islamic tyrants and foreign infidels so that a true Islamic state will be established.

Unlike the rule of Arab and Muslim tyrants or the corrupt falsehoods about Islam preached by the extremists and terrorists, Islam is a faith that demands a democratic system of government.

There is an entire chapter in the Qur’an, Chapter 42, called the “Consultation” which emphasize that there is no autocratic or dictatorial rule in Islam but rule by consultation and agreement of the community.

“And who respond to the call of their Lord and are constant in prayer; and whose rule in all matters of common concern is consultation among themselves; and who spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance”     (Qur’an:  42:39

Compare and contrast the existence of democracy in early Islam as evidenced by the free elections of the first four Caliphs, successors to the Prophet after his death and to the absolute dictatorship and oppressive tyranny that exists today in the Arab world where even criticizing a monarch is a criminal offense with a jail time of judicial choosing.

Abu Bakr Al Siddiq was the Prophet’s closes friend and companion during his life.  Upon the Prophet’s death he was elected the first Caliph.  Here is part of his democratic humble speech to his people.

After praising God and voicing blessings on the Prophet he said:

“I have been given the authority over you, and I am not the best of you. If I do well, help me; and if I do wrong, set me right. Sincere regard for truth is loyalty and disregard for truth is treachery. The weak amongst you shall be strong with me until I have secured his rights, if God wills; and the strong amongst you shall be weak with me until I have wrested from him the rights of others, if God wills. Obey me so long as I obey God and His Messenger. But if I disobey God and His Messenger, you owe me no obedience. Arise for your prayer, God have mercy upon us”.

Islam has been abandoned by the majority of the Muslim world, none more so then by the corrupt tyrants that rule with an iron fist.

There is no darkness but ignorance”.      –William Shakespeare

Muslims Abandoning Knowledge: “‘READ”

In the Qur’an God tells us that after creating Adam the first thing He did was give Adam the gift of “conceptual thinking”, i.e. the intellectual to identify and describe all things.

“And He taught Adam the names of all things”.     (Qur’an:  2:31)

“The first thing God created was the intellect”    –Prophet Muhammad

The very first Qur’anic word revealed to Prophet Muhammad by the Angel Gabriel was:  READ.

God commanded Muslims to be seekers of knowledge for only through knowledge can one begin to accept and understand God’s majestic creativity on earth, in the universe, and in the human body.

The first five Qur’anic verses revealed to the Prophet were:

“READ in the name of thy lord and cherisher who created: Created man out of a Germ Cell.   READ!   And thy lord is most bountiful, He who taught the use of the PEN.  Taught man that which he knew not”.     (Qur’an:  96:1-5)

Islam is a faith based totally on knowledge.   Gaining knowledge in its most comprehensive meaning including the study of theory, experimentation, and action is a part of true worship to a Muslim.   A Muslim without knowledge is an empty vessel of rituals and ignorant imitation of those slightly more learned than himself or herself.

No other faith, revelation, or Messenger, so strongly emphasizes the acquisition of knowledge as does Islam.the Qur’an, and our beloved Prophet Muhammad.

In the Qur’an the word knowledge in its various linguistic forms is mentioned 854 times along with the edict that the Qur’an is revealed to people who think, who use their reason, people of understanding, people who contemplate and study the Qur’an, the revealed book, and the universe, the created book.

The fourth Caliph and cousin of the Prophet, Imam Ali bin Abi Talib wrote in the sixth century:

“If God were to humiliate a human being,  He would deny him knowledge”.

Some Qur’anic Verses on Knowledge:

“Lord, increase me in knowledge”.     (Qur’an 20:114)

And He has subjected to you, as from Him, all that is in the heavens and on earth: behold in that are Signs indeed for those who reflect”.     (Qur’an 45: 13)

“We made the Quran easy to learn. Do any of you wish to learn?”   (Qur’an: 54:17)

“God will raise those among you who believe, and those who acquire knowledge to higher ranks. God is fully aware of everything you do”     (Qur’an 58:11).

Prophet’s Teachings on Knowledge:

“The acquisition of knowledge is a duty incumbent on every Muslim, male and female.”

“The ink of the scholar is more holy than the blood of martyr.”

“To listen to the words of the learned and to instill into others the lessons of science is better than religious exercises.”

“Whoever has a daughter, tutored her on good morals, educated her well and fed her properly; she will be a protection for him from hell”.

“A person who follows a path for acquiring knowledge, Allah will make easy the passage to Paradise for him.”

“A Muslim will not tire of knowledge until he/she reaches Heaven.”

In addition to the Qur’an being a divine revelation and a complete code for all of human conduct, behaviors, morals, and endeavors; it is also a book of scientific miracles not discovered or known except during the last 150 years.    Scientists are astonished when reading scientific facts in the Qur’an.

Please Watch this brief but valuable Video on Scientific Miracles in the Qur’an:  Knowledge and Science are important elements of worship in Islam.   Both lead the way to understanding God’s existence and majestic creative power.

These three articles offer insight into the miracle of science in the Qur’an and what western historians and famous scientists said about Qur’anic Science and Civilization.

1.Incredible Scientific Miracles in the Qur’an.

2. Quotations of Famous Historians on Islamic Science.

3. What Science Professors Say About Scientific Facts Found in the Qur’an.

The injunction in the Qur’an and the Prophetic teachings to seek knowledge everywhere on this planet  pushed the early Muslims on a quest for knowledge in all fields:   In all the Sciences, in Medicine, Mathematics, Astronomy, Engineering, Agriculture, Pharmaceuticals, Music, Architecture, Arts, and even Music.   Muslims were voracious inventors of many things that we still use today.  ,

The Muslim cities of Baghdad, Samarkand, Damascus, Cairo, and especially in Cordoba, Andalusian Spain were for many centuries the centers of high learning, scientific experimentation, discoveries in all fields with unprecedented cooperation and collaboration among Jews, Christians, and Muslims.  Only under Muslim rule did the followers of the three faiths find peace, tolerance, collaboration and cooperation.

Arabic was the language of knowledge for centuries and the renaissance in Andalusian Spain formed the foundation for Europe’s Renaissance.

This is by far the best historical documentary on the History of Muslim Andlalsia in Spain.  It is a production of the BBC.  It truly is a Must Watch.

This SITE is a most extraordinary single site where you can find a collection of VIDEOS on Islamic Art, Architecture (such as the Taj Mahal, and Al Hambra Mosque in Granada, Spain; plus Contributions of Islamic Science, Documentaries on Muslim Andalusian Spain, and much more.   A most worthy site to spend time viewing.

This insightful and historic article, “Andalusia, Gateway to the Golden Renaissance”, by Muriel Mirack Weissbach documents how Andalusia, Spain was the Gateway for a Golden Age the world has never known before nor since.

Two extraordinarily magnificent Muslims architectural masterpieces, one a mosque, the Dome of the Rock in occupied Jerusalem, and the other, a mausoleum celebrating eternal love, the Taj Mahal in Agra, India showcase the monumental achievement of Muslims in Architecture, Engineering, Artistic calligraphy, and love for splendor and beauty, as the Prophet taught: “God is Beautiful and loves beauty”.

The Dome of the Rock Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem built in the late seventh century. The Zionists plan its destruction by building massive tunnels underneath it.

Taj Mahal, one of the world’s greatest historical masterpieces. Built in the 17th Century by the Mogul Emperor as a memorial for his wife who died giving birth to their 14th child.

Sadly, the eight hundreds years of extraordinary and magnificent contributions by Muslim Spain has been deliberately omitted from the annals of western history.

John William Draper in the “Intellectual Development of Europe”

“I have to deplore the systematic manner in which the literature of Europe has continued to put out of sight our obligations to the Muslims.

Robert Briffault in the “Making of Humanity

“It was under the influence of the Arabs and Moorish revival of culture and not in the 15th century, that a real renaissance took place.

The experimental (scientific) method of Arabs was by Roger Bacon’s time widespread and eagerly cultivated throughout Europe.  (It was the Arabs who first introduced experimental science as a formal rigorous study of discovery)

“Science is the most momentous contribution of Arab civilization to the modern world;

“It is highly probable that but for the Arabs, modern European civilization would never have arisen at all; it is absolutely certain that but for them, it would not have assumed that character which has enabled it to transcend all previous phases of evolution.”

The fames historian Will Durant wrote:  “Education is the Basis of Civilization

First University in World History Founded by a Muslim Woman, daughter of a wealthy merchant in Fez, Morocco. Still operational.

Most of the world is unaware that the first Universitybuilt in the world was founded by a Muslim woman, Fatima al-Fitri, in Fes, Morocco in 859 C.E.  It was called the University of Al-Karaouine or Al-Qarawiyyin.  According to UNESCO and the Guinness World Record It is the oldest existing and continually operating educational institution in the world.

The second oldest surviving University in the world is the Al Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt founded in 970-972.  It is the primary center of Islamic learning in the world as well as the primary resource and learning of Sunni Islam.

It was not until 1088 that the first University of higher learning was founded in the West, the University of Bologna, Italy.

The high illiteracy rates in the Middle East is a true tragedy that has been the major obstacle to learning the truth of Islamic teaching as well as the chain that has imprisoned the Muslim world in a moribund almost comatose intellectual existence.

The Arabs are the highest purchasers of GUNS and the least purchasers and producers of BOOKS in the world.

Guns rule, books lead to revolutions.

There have been five “Arab Human Development Reports” since the first one in 2002 published by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and written by expert Arab Scholars who evaluated the current status of the Arab world and offered strong recommendations that the region, both b government and civil society, could take to uplift the region from its stagnant suffering of poverty, food insecurity, conflicts, illiteracy, high unemployment, political reform, among other many recommendations.

The bottom line conclusion they found as barriers to better Arab stability and progress was not a lack of resources but the tragic lack of THREE ESSENTIALS which the authors term the “Region’s ThreeDeficits”.

The authors present evidence that these three main factors are mainly responsible for the extraordinary frustration found in the Arab world most responsible for holding the region back from reaching its maximum potential and  allow the rest of the world both to despise and fear the deadly combination of wealth and backwardness.

The authors deliberately avoided discussing the issue of Islam, conflicts and terrorism, highlighting the vast failure and corruption of governments, America and Israel’s dominant hegemony and influence in the region, and the single most important root cause of Muslim animosity to the West—Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestinian and Arab lands.

Despite the author’s deliberate sidestepping of faith, politics and failed governments, the Arab tyrannical governments, and even the U.S., criticized and rejected the report’s findings, thus like all voices of dissent or scholarship, the reports died, never to be heard of again.

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad warned his followers with this admonition:

Indeed, I am leaving among you, that which if you hold fast to them, you shall not be misguided after me.   First is the Quran, the book of God, which is a rope extended from the sky to the earth, and Second is my Sunnah (teachings and traditions of the Prophet)

We, as worldwide Muslims have failed to heed this eternal warning and have to our own detriment and self destruction ignored this admonition.

“Will they not, then, turn towards God in repentance, and ask His forgiveness? For God is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace”     (Qur’an:  5:74).

Only Islam can raise us again from the depths of darkness to the light of truth.

“A Book (the Qur’an) We have sent down to you (Prophet Muhammad) so that you may bring forth mankind from the darkness into the light”    (Qur’an:14:1)

Only a true Muslim “Spring”can redeem our spiritual, political, economic, educational, and development health, not only to rejoind the world’s progress but even to surpass it.

Cynics may redicule this simplistic statement but only, only Islam, has ever united Muslims and laid the groundwork for the greatest civilization in world history.   No other ideology has worked and none will except Islam.

God is Greater.

I had written a three part series titled: “Muslims by Birth, Not Faith”.  In the articles I challenged the Muslim terrorists and extremists to show on Islamic tenet or teaching in the Holy Qur’an or our beloved Prophet’s teaching on which they base their murderous spree against the innocent, both Muslims and Non-Muslims.   I refuted and rejected any of their alleged claims by quoting specific Qur’anic verses and Prophetic teachings.

Sadly but as expected these articles were not picked up or posted in the Arab and Muslim world except by a few courageous sights.   Perhaps they will find a wider audience in the west to answer many of the questions westerners have about Islam.

They can be found on this site:

For those interested in having an excellent online translation of the Holy Qur’an in English I recommend Muhammad Asad’s “The Message of the Qur’an.   For those interested in reading an excellent biography of the Prophet I recommend “Muhammad” by Martin Lingis.

Although it is impossible to translate the majestic classical Arabic of the Holy Qur’an into any language, all translations are attempts to convey the message or concept of the verses.   Secondly the Holy Qur’an can only be understood the context of many of its verses it’s vital that one also studies the history of the events that prompted such revelations during the last 23 years of Prophet Muhammad’s life, without such a study many verses will not be understood.   For example the “fighting” verses were revealed before, during, or after battles the Muslims were engaged in to defend themselves

One of the best translation that convey the meaning and context of the verses is the book by Muhammad Asad, formerly Leopold Weiss, a descendent of many Rabbis, called “The Message of the Qur’an”.   The website below has the complete translation although one can also download it from other sites.

Asad also wrote another book, a biography of his life and journey to Islam called “The Road to Mecca”, an extraordinary book that is both mesmerizing and difficult to put down.  I highly recommend it.

You can also read this brief book on Islam entitled:

Thank you for your very kind patience in reading this lengthy article.   The world needs more knowledge to find inner and world peace, not less.

Hezbollah gets “terrorist” label for fighting al-Qaeda

Al-Qaeda leader al-Zawahiri: Our next DHS chief?

Press TV

On Monday, the European Union formally labeled Hezbollah a “terrorist” group.

Why? Because Hezbollah has gone to war with al-Qaeda.

But wait a minute – wasn’t al-Qaeda supposed to be the worst terrorist group in the world? Isn’t the West leading a “global war on terror” whose main target is al-Qaeda? Shouldn’t the West be thanking Hezbollah, and showering it with rewards, for turning against global terrorist enemy number one?

Apparently not.

Al-Qaeda is now the West’s darling in Syria. So anybody who resists al-Qaeda – as Hezbollah recently decided to do – is a “terrorist.”

The irony doesn’t get any thicker than that.

US Secretary of State John Kerry hailed the EU’s move. Kerry argued that Hezbollah is indeed a terrorist organization because it “has deepened its support” for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. What Kerry didn’t say is that Assad is fighting an insurgency led by al-Qaeda.

Translation: John Kerry supports al-Qaeda. He even says that anyone who opposes al-Qaeda is a terrorist.

This comes after Republican leader John McCain sneaked across the Syrian border to join al-Qaeda a little over a month ago.

In today’s USA, al-Qaeda apparently enjoys bipartisan support.

As an American Muslim, I am confused about what my government wants me to believe and say.

I have always opposed al-Qaeda. Does that mean I am a terrorist? Will Homeland Security agents arrest me and send me to Guantanamo because I don’t like al-Qaeda? Will Guantanamo’s cells soon be filling up with anti-al-Qaeda Muslims like me? Will they experiment on us with torture and brainwashing techniques designed to “reform” us by turning us into al-Qaeda supporters?

I supposed I had better say something nice about al-Qaeda quickly, before DHS agents show up on my doorstep.

So listen to me, NSA wiretappers: I am not THAT opposed to al-Qaeda! I think Bin Laden gave some wonderful speeches in his day! (I’m talking about the real Bin Laden, who died in December 2001 – not the fat imposter of the December 2001 “confession video,” or the short, skinny imposter with the jet-black beard who helped re-elect Bush in 2004.)

I even agree with al-Qaeda’s expressed desire to throw the Zionists and Crusaders out of the Islamic world. If you don’t believe me, I can show you my bumper-sticker. It reads: “End the Crusades – give Palestine back!”

So if you are listening to me, NSA wiretappers (if?!) please note that I am not an anti-al-Qaeda fanatic or an anti-al-Qaeda radical or an anti-al-Qaeda extremist.

I am an anti-al-Qaeda moderate.

I am one of the “good Muslims” – the kind you don’t need to cage, torture, or extra-judicially execute.

But I must be honest with you. I do have a few little problems with al-Qaeda.

One problem is al-Qaeda’s 1998 fatwa telling Muslims that “killing the Americans and their allies – civilians and military – is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it.”

I am a Muslim. I am also an American civilian. Does that mean I have an “individual duty” to kill myself?

From my point of view, that was an amazingly stupid fatwa.

Al-Qaeda’s claim that killing civilians is okay seems stupid and un-Islamic. Yes, I know the Americans and Israelis kill vast numbers of civilians. But we Muslims have higher standards.

Will the American and European governments label me a terrorist because I oppose killing civilians? I would not put it past them. Orwell could take lessons from these people.

In any event, the EU’s blacklisting Hezbollah is not the first pro-al-Qaeda move by the West.

Al-Qaeda, which means “the (CIA) database,” was created by the CIA with help from its Saudi and Pakistani stooges. Its original purpose was to fight the Russians in Afghanistan on behalf of the US. Since then, it has continued to harass the Russians while smuggling drugs for the CIA.

In 2001, it generously offered its services as a bogeyman for the Zionists and the military-industrial complex, by failing to clearly and unambiguously state that 9/11 was obviously an inside job. Subsequently, al-Qaeda has turned increasingly toward attacking Muslims in an effort to incite sectarian strife and weaken the Islamic world.

Every one of those activities has furthered Western – and especially Zionist – policy goals.

No wonder the West loves al-Qaeda. No wonder they think that anyone who opposes al-Qaeda is a terrorist.

It is hard to imagine how Western hypocrisy on the subject of terrorism could sink any lower.

Will the West start hiring al-Qaeda fighters to staff airport security checkpoints? Will Obama appoint Ayman al-Zawahiri as his next Homeland Security chief? Will the US military bring Syrian al-Qaeda chief Abu Mohammad al-Julani to tour US military bases and load him with stinger missiles, as they did with Tim Osman (a.k.a. Osama Bin Laden) in the 1980s? Will they decide to provide al-Julani with nuclear weapons?

I wish all of this were just satire. But it is impossible to satirize the West’s “war on terrorism.” The reality is always more absurd than any conceivable product of the imagination.

The Grand Scam: Spinning Egypt’s Military Coup

Editor’s note : An informed analysis by an Egyptian writer Esam Al Amin here that concurs with the perspective as recently outlined in the article: US, EU Pose as Honest Brokers While Backing Egypt’s Military Assault on Democracy by our Finian Cunningham. One need not be a fan of Mohamed Morsi, but the fact is that he was legally elected in June 2012. To remove him from office under arrest and keep him incommunicado for more than two weeks is an extraordinary and reprehensible intervention by the military in civic politics. The US and EU have effectively endorsed this military coup by their quiet acquiesance.

Moreover, Egypt’s dominant anti-Morsi media is controlled by the military and Mubarak-era cronies. The heavy anti-Morsi media coverage in Egypt, is closely aligned with the Egyptian deep state of military, judiciary and big business.

by Esam Al-Amin

Exposing the Hypocrisy of ElBaradei and His Liberal Elites

Every coup d’état in history begins with a military General announcing the overthrow and arrest of the country’s leader, the suspension of the constitution, and the dissolution of the legislature. If people resist, it turns bloody. Egypt is no exception.

As the dust settles and the fog over the events unfolding across Egypt dissipates, the political scene becomes much clearer. Regardless of how one dresses the situation on the ground, the political and ideological battle that has been raging for over a year between the Islamist parties and their liberal and secular counterparts was decided because of a single decisive factor: military intervention by Egypt’s generals on behalf of the latter.

As I argued before in several of my articles (as have others), there is no doubt that President Mohammad Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) committed political miscalculations and made numerous mistakes, especially by ignoring the demands of many of the revolutionary youth groups and abandoning their former opposition partners. They frequently behaved in a naïve and arrogant manner. But in any civilized and democratic society, the price of incompetence or narcissism is exacted politically at the ballot box.

Elections and Obstructionism: Do Elections Matter?

To their frustration, the liberal and secular opposition failed time and again to win the trust of the people as the Egyptian electorate exercised its free will when tens of millions went to the polls six times in two years. After overthrowing the Mubarak regime a month earlier, they voted in March 2011 by seventy seven percent for a referendum, favored by the Islamists that charted the future political roadmap. Between November 2011 and January 2012, they voted for the Islamist parties with overwhelming majorities in the lower (seventy three percent) and upper (eighty percent) houses of parliament. In June 2012, they elected, albeit narrowly, for the first time in their history, the civilian Muslim Brotherhood candidate as president in a free and fair election. Finally, last December the Egyptian people ratified by a sixty four percent majority the country’s new constitution. The next parliamentary elections were scheduled for this summer had not the Mubarak-appointed Supreme Constitutional Court (SCC) intervened yet again and invalidated the new election laws.

From the standpoint of the MB and its Islamist allies the SCC played an obstructionist role throughout this process. To their consternation, in June 2012 the court dissolved the lower house of parliament within four months of its election on technical grounds. It was also aiming to dissolve the upper house of parliament as well as the Constitutional Constituent Assembly (CCA) – the body charged with writing the new constitution – days before it was to finish its work. This forced Morsi to intervene and issue his ill-fated constitutional decree on November 22, 2012, in order to protect the CCA from judicial nullification. In an attempt to force its collapse, all secular members of the CCA resigned en masse even though its formation and the parameters of the process were agreed upon in advance, as evidenced by an opposition member who announced it in April 2012.

However, Morsi’s declaration proved to be a watershed moment that galvanized the opposition, which predictably accused him of an authoritarian power grab. In turn, Morsi argued that his decree was necessary to build the democratic institutions of the state that were being dismantled by the SCC one by one. Under intense public pressure he backtracked and cancelled the decree within three weeks, but only after he ensured that the new constitution would be put to a referendum.

After a vigorous public campaign by the opposition to reject the constitution, it was approved by the public by almost two to one. The next constitutional step would have been parliamentary elections within sixty days. But even though the election laws were similar to the laws agreed upon by all parties in the 2012 elections, the opposition complained that the laws favored the Islamist parties and threatened to boycott the elections. Within four months, the SCC twice rejected and halted the elections on technical grounds, thus further solidifying the perception in the eyes of the Islamists that the Mubarak-appointed court continues to thwart the country’s budding democratic institutions.

Strange Bedfellows: The Unholy Trinity of Gulf Sheikhdoms, the Fulool, and Egypt’s Secular Opposition

On April 22, 2011, UAE Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Zayed brought his intelligence and security chiefs to meet with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia and his security officials to discuss the ramifications of the Arab Spring. Bin Zayed warned that unless the GCC countries developed a proactive policy to preempt the wave of popular uprisings sweeping the Arab World at the time, none of the region’s monarchs would survive. Three weeks later in an emergency summit meeting in Riyadh he delivered the same message to all the GCC heads of state. While Qatar remained indifferent to his message, the other five countries were receptive. Bin Zayed and Prince Bandar Bin Sultan, the Saudi intelligence chief, were tasked with submitting an effective plan to counter the Arab Spring phenomenon in the region. Subsequently, King Abdullah solicited and received the help of King Abdullah II of Jordan to join this effort while Qatar was excluded from all future meetings.

For decades, the UAE had been very close to Mubarak and his cronies. Billions of dollars of ill-gotten fortunes looted from the country were deposited in banks in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. After the overthrow of Mubarak, dozens of security officials and corrupt businessmen quietly left Egypt and relocated to the UAE. When Mubarak’s last Prime Minister, Ahmad Shafiq lost the presidential elections to Morsi in June 2012, he also moved to the UAE. By the fall of 2012, it became evident that the UAE hosted a web of individuals who were plotting the overthrow of Morsi and the MB.

Within a few weeks of the formation of the new government, Shafiq supporter and spokesman for his political party Mohammad Abu Hamid, announced on August 21, 2012, fifteen demands culminating in the goal of toppling the “Muslim Brotherhood or Ikhwan Government.” He warned against the “ikhwanization” of the state, i.e. the appointments of MB members in crucial state positions, and blamed them for the lack of basic services to the public. Abu Hamid also called for subsequent mass protests in Tahrir Square as he accused Morsi of power grab, dictatorship, and judicial interference, long before the president issued his hapless constitutional decree three months later. He further demanded the banning of the MB and its political affiliate, as well as the arrest of its leaders, who he accused of treason. All of his demands would subsequently become the talking points of every opposition party and anti-Morsi media outlet.

Even though Morsi took the reins of powers in the country and was able to force the retirement of the most senior army generals in early August, his authority was thin. Instead of purging the most entrenched elements of Mubarak’s centers of power, namely, the army, the intelligence services, the security apparatus, and the police, he naïvely thought that he could appease them. He was lulled into believing that he had earned their loyalty. In fact, these agencies, along with the judiciary, the public and private secular media outlets, as well as most of the bureaucracy, represented the interests of the “deep state,” a decades-old web of corruption and special interests entrenched within the state’s institutions.

One way corruption proliferated during the days of Mubarak was by appeasing each critical segment in society, such as the judiciary or the police, at times through the distribution of vast parcels of land at hugely discounted prices to their constituents, who in turn sold them to the public for millions of pounds. For example, when Shafiq was in charge of the Military Pilots Association in the 1990s, he sold Mubarak’s sons over 40,000 acres of prime land in the Nile Delta for a dollar per acre, while the actual value for each acre was in the tens of thousands. This sale was subsequently called the ‘Scandal of the Lands of the Pilots’ after it was exposed last year, and where Shafiq was charged with embezzlement and public corruption in connection with the scandal. But despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary, the corrupt judicial system earlier this year absolved Shafiq of any wrongdoing.

Slowly but surely remnants of the Mubarak regime and related corrupt businessmen, better known as the fulool, regrouped and coalesced around the elements of the deep state. Meanwhile, the secular opposition, which was in disarray, formed for the first time a united movement called the National Salvation Front (NSF) after Morsi issued his decree in late November. It included most of the failed presidential candidates and several dozen secular parties, which combined did not receive more than twenty five percent in the parliamentary elections. Its leaders included Amr Moussa, Hamdein Sabbahi, Elsayed AlBadawi, Mohammad Abul Ghar, and billionaire Naguib Sawiris. The NSF chose former IAEA head, Mohammed ElBaradei, to be its spokesperson.

In November 2012, Prince Bandar presented two detailed plans to the Americans through the CIA. Plan A was a quick plot to topple Morsi in early December while Plan B was a long term plan that involved two tracks. One track was a series of destabilizing protests that would culminate in Morsi’s ouster, while another track included uniting the opposition to form one coalition to defeat the MB at the polls if the first track failed. While the CIA was fully aware of the plan it neither endorsed nor objected to it because the Obama administration, playing both sides, was also pursuing dialogue with the Morsi government.

The plan to topple the MB was built around a plot to assassinate Morsi in his residence on December 5. However, it was exposed by a loyal mid-level presidential guard hours before it was to take place. With the help of the MB, Morsi was able to thwart the plot, though he declined to expose it or discuss it publicly.

In March 2013, NSF leader ElBaradei met with Shafiq and Bin Zayed in the UAE. They all agreed that the only way to dislodge Morsi and the MB from power was by undermining his rule and the stability of the country internally and convincing Western governments, particularly the U.S., the U.K., France, and Germany, to back a military takeover. According to a recent WSJ report, a series of meetings took place in the Naval Officers Club between senior military officers, fulool representatives including the attorney of billionaire and Mubarak crony, Ahmed Ezz, the architect of the 2010 fraudulent parliamentary elections, and opposition leaders including ElBaradei. According to this report, which was not refuted or denied by any side, the army generals told the opposition that they would not move to oust Morsi unless millions of people take to the streets on their side.

The Plot Thickens

While the opposition was sending mixed messages about whether or not it would participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, the MB and its Islamist allies were preparing for the impending contests. Meanwhile, many of the youth and revolutionary groups, which spearheaded the 2011 uprising, were frustrated with the political scene: A regime that ignored their demands and an ineffective opposition bent on obstructionism. Suddenly, a new youth movement came to the fore in late April 2013. Its previously obscure leaders called it Tamarrud or Rebellion. Their stated reason for launching the movement was to collect 15 million signatures from the public, a million more than Morsi received in his presidential bid, to demand early presidential elections.

Opposition groups immediately embraced Tamarrud and promised to help it reach its goal. Billionaire businessman and severe MB critic Sawiris claimed in early July that he gave millions of dollars worth of publicity and support to the group. Moreover, the machinery of the former National Democratic Party (NDP), Mubarak’s political party, was in full force, as many of its former officials led the efforts in providing resources and collecting signatures across Egypt. Meanwhile, private media outlets started a vicious vilification campaign against Morsi and the MB. For several months, over a dozen satellite channels were devoted to the demonization of Morsi and his group. They were accused of every crime and blamed for every problem the country faced. At times even the public media, which is supposed to be neutral, joined in this campaign. In addition, the pan-Arab, Saudi-financed, and headquartered in the UAE, Al-Arabiyya satellite channel, joined the campaign in earnest by repeatedly promoting Tamarrud activities and featuring opposition figures. In one instance a famous host was inadvertently taped while holding a paper with the answers to his questions as he was interviewing a Tamarrud spokesman.

Strikingly, not only was the MB ill-equipped to deal with this propaganda warfare, but also to its detriment, it did not take it seriously. Even when their Islamist allies warned the MB leadership about the impending potential overthrow a week before Morsi was toppled, they dismissively answered that, “they (the opposition) had previously held twenty-five feeble demonstrations, and this one would just be their twenty-sixth.”

There are two major reasons why Morsi and the MB were not worried about the impending demonstrations. First, army chief Gen. Abdel Fattah Sisi repeatedly assured Morsi that the army would not topple the government and would stay loyal to the democratic process. Even when Sisi issued a call for compromise a week before the fateful day of June 30th, he told the president that he had nothing to worry about and that he had to issue this warning in order to mollify some of his military generals.  The second reason was that Morsi and the MB were regularly assured by U.S. Ambassador Anne Patterson that the U.S. would not support any move by the military to depose a democratically elected president.

Muhammad El-Baradei addressing protesters at Tahrir Square in Cairo on January 30, five days after protests started.

Meanwhile, ElBaradei was fully engaged in contacting world leaders to convince them that the only way out for Egypt was the dismissal and overthrow of Morsi. In early July he proudly admitted, “I spoke with both of them (Obama and Kerry) extensively and tried to convince them of the need to depose Morsi.” Furthermore, the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait pressed the U.S. to support the impending military intervention in Egypt. Ironically, during May and June, Western leaders, including Obama and Kerry, pressured Morsi and the MB leadership to appoint ElBaradei as Prime Minister while the latter was arguing for Morsi’s overthrow.

As part of the demonization campaign to convince the West that the popularity of the MB was dwindling, the Arab American Institute (AAI) in Washington D.C. was commissioned to conduct a poll about the declining popularity of Morsi and the MB. AAI president and UAE lackey, James Zogby, called for a press conference on June 28 to announce that “Morsi heads a minority government whose public support is now limited to its own party,” and that, “Egyptians have lost confidence in President Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood’s ability to govern.” He further predicted that, “millions of Egyptians would demonstrate in the streets against Morsi and the MB government.” No one in the press conference bothered to ask who actually commissioned and paid for the survey that claimed to poll more than five thousand people across Egypt.

Unpacking the lies

All Democracies do it: America, France, Argentina, Brazil

By mid-June, the campaign was in full force. Many political science professors and public intellectuals from the opposition including Waheed Abdelmagid and Hasan Naf’ah, as well as constitutional law professors such as Noor Farahat and Husam Issa, were arguing across several television networks that the call for “early presidential elections” was not only an acceptable mechanism available in all democracies, but that it had been used many times before. As examples, they cited Nixon’s resignation in 1974, France’s Charles de Gaulle in 1969, Argentina’s Raúl Alfonsín in 1989, and Brazil’s Fernando Collor de Mello in 1992.

The intellectual dishonesty of these liberal elites is appalling, since none of the examples they cited were actual calls for “early presidential elections,” let alone the deposing of a democratically elected president by a military coup. Nixon resigned the presidency on the eve of his impeachment by Congress. Gerald Ford, his vice president was sworn in as president. No early elections. De Gaulle voluntarily resigned the presidency after more than 10 years in power after promising that he would do so if the public did not endorse his reforms of the Senate and local governments. When the public rejected his referendum, he kept his promise although he was not obligated to do so constitutionally. After six years in power, Alfonsín was not even on the ballot for the 1989 presidential elections. However, both parliamentary and presidential elections were held simultaneously in the summer of 1989. The new president was supposed to be inaugurated five months later, but when his party’s candidate was defeated by the opposition, Alfonsín stepped down early to allow the new president from the opposition to assume power. No early elections. After two years in power, De Mello was impeached by the legislature for corruption in a constitutional proceeding and resigned. The fact that no constitutional mechanism in the world allows for a removal by popular protests did not bother these liberal figures who were intent on removing a freely elected president by the military regardless of the dangerous precedent it sets.

Noted author Alaa Al-Aswani not only cited some of the above examples as valid precedents to depose and overthrow Morsi, but he did not miss a beat or see the irony when he showered the military with accolades before ending his weekly column with his usual declaration “Democracy is the Solution.” It is a fact that some democracies have a constitutional mechanism to recall a head of state. Although there is no such mechanism for the U.S. president, many state constitutions allow the recall of their governors. In 2003, the people of California recalled Gov. Gray Davis. But that recall was not the result of street protests and the intervention of the National Guard. Rather, it was a constitutional process that involved the signing and authentication of millions of petitions by the State Supreme Court that authorized the recall process. Although the 2012 Egyptian constitution allows for the impeachment of the president by parliament, it did not allow for a recall.

Enough is Enough: End Electricity Cuts and Fuel Shortages

Throughout the month of June the media onslaught on Morsi’s government not only continued to blame it for all the ills afflicting Egyptian society, but also intensified as three particular problems were highlighted: the deterioration in security, frequent power outages that lasted hours and affected not only residential but also industrial areas, and shortages of fuel, causing hours long lines at gas stations.

Egypt has 2480 gas stations, with about 400 stations run by the government. The other two thousand sations are owned privately by business tycoons who were given these licenses during the Mubarak era because they were close to the regime and considered very loyal. Morsi’s government asserted that each station received its share and that there was no reason for the shortages. In fact, a few days before he was deposed Morsi warned gas station owners he’d revoke their licences if they refused to provide their customers with fuel. Khalid Al-Shami, a youth activist who was with the opposition until the military coup, exposed the plot when he announced in public that the handful of owners of the privately-run gas stations conspired to create the manufactured fuel shortage crisis in order to build public discontent against Morsi. The best evidence that the problem of fuel shortage was manufactured is that it evaporated overnight. Since the moment Morsi was deposed there has been no fuel shortage.

As for the security detrioration and electricity cuts, the conspiracy was deeper. The police which refused to protect entire neighborhoods during Morsi’s rule has returned back in full force. Criminals and thugs who terrorized people in the streets are back under control by the same Mubarak-era security apparatus, except for the areas where Morsi’s supporters demonstrate. Electricity outages that lasted for hours every day in almost every neighborhood have disappeared overnight. The mystery of solving these two intractable problems were uncovered this week. Out of the thirty-five member cabinet chosen by the military, eight were retained including the Interior Minister in charge of the police and the Minister of Electricity. One would assume that the first ministers to be sacked by the post-coup government would be those whom the public complained about their incompetence. The opposition who called for dismissing these ministers were now hailing them and cheering their retention. In short, many public officials who professed loyalty to the hapless president were actually undermining his rule all along, while the opposition accused him of packing the government with MB loyalists.

Numbers Game: If you tell a lie loud and long enough, people will eventually believe it

By the second week of June, Tamarrud announced that it had collected more than 10 million signatures within six weeks. Just ten days later, that number had risen to 22 million signatures. Shortly thereafter, Tamarrud’s spokesman Mahmoud Badr announced that the goal of the June 30 demonstration had shifted. It was no longer calling for early presidential elections, but now demanded the overthrow of Morsi, replacing him with the head of the SCC, the annulment of the constitution, the banning of the MB and the arrest and trials of its leaders. For the next few days the media kept up the drumbeat until the fateful day arrived.

By June 30, every actor knew his part. By mid-afternoon Tamarrud announced that the number on the streets were over 10 million. Soon the number became 14 then 17 then 22 million. Eventually the media claimed that the June 30 demonstrations across Egypt were the biggest in the history of mankind with as many as 33 million people in the streets. Military planes flew in formations entertaining the crowds in the skies above Tahrir Square throwing Egyptian flags and bottled water, and drawing hearts as a show of love and affection to the demonstrators. The army even provided a military helicopter to Khalid Yousef, a famous movie director known for his support of the opposition and hostility to the MB. Yousef recorded the crowd and produced a film that was immediately shown not only in every anti-Morsi TV network across Egypt but also on state television. Within hours, every media outlet claimed that the numbers were in the tens of millions with people in Tahrir Square alone reaching between 5 and 8 million. On the day of the coup, fireworks, laser shows, and festivities were on full display.

As I have argued before there is no doubt that there was a huge public outcry and anger against Morsi and the MB. But were the numbers as high as claimed? In October 1995, hundreds of thousands descended on the National Mall in Washington D.C. for what was promoted as the Million Man March that filled the entire area. The organizers claimed to have reached one million while the DC Park Police estimated the crowd to be four hundred thousand. The area of the national mall is about 146 acres. Thus, there were between 2750 people (police estimate) to 6750 people per acre (organizers’ estimate). In other words, there were 0.7-1.7 people per square meter.

In contrast, the area of Tahrir Square is 12.3 acres. As Amjad Almonzer, a communication engineer and a Google Earth Expert, conclusively proves: even if all side streets to Tahrir Square were included, the area would not exceed 25 acres. Even if four people were counted per square meter and dozens of surrounding buildings were removed, there would be no more than 400 thousand people on that day. If the 5-6 million number promoted by the proponents of the military coup were to be believed, it means that there were 50-60 people per square meter (5-6 per sq. ft.), clearly a physical impossibility. Even if one million were at every inch in Tahrir Square and all the surrounding streets, there would have to be 10 people per square meter, another impossibility. Even BBC eventually questioned these inflated numbers.

So at best there were less than half a million people in Tahrir Square at the peak of the demonstration and there were probably an equal number across Egypt. Therefore, the will of the Egyptian electorate was sacrificed when one or two million people protested for a day or two.

Can You Keep A Secret? The Anti-Morsi Media spells it out

Even before a single demonstrator went to  Tahrir, Okaz, a Saudi daily newspaper preemptively published the details of the scenario that unfolded three days later when the military took over. The following day, Al-Ahram, an official newspaper and Egypt’s largest circulated publication, had the headline “Either Resign or Be Overthrown.” This report foretold in frightening details how the events would unfold, including the military ultimatum, the overthrow of Morsi, the arrest of the MB leaders, and the suspension of the constitution. By July 3 nightfall, Gen. Sisi announced the overthrow of Morsi, the suspension of the constitution, and the beginning of a political roadmap. It was exactly the same roadmap President Morsi announced earlier, and the opposition rejected. The only difference was his ouster.

The Americans Fold their Hands

Throughout the crisis, U.S. Ambassador Patterson played the role of defending the democratic process and the rule of law. When Gen. Sisi issued his ultimatum to the president on July 1, the U.S. adminstration showed its true colors as National Security Advisor Susan Rice told Morsi’s foreign policy advisor, Essam al-Haddad, that it was over: either Morsi should resign or he would be overthrown. She advised that he should resign which Morsi summarily rejected. Once told by Rice of the impending coup Morsi videotaped a 22 minute speech on a smart phone vowing not to resign or submit to the impending coup. His aid quickly emailed the impromtu speech to his supporters. Within the hour he was taken into custody not to be seen or heard from again.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel spoke to the coup leader Gen. Sisi at least five times during the crisis. He advised that they announce the elections would be held as soon as possible. In addition, he assured Sisi that the administration would maintain its military aid. Within days, Deputy Secretary of State William Burns went to Egypt and met with the coup leaders and their civilian enablers. While in Cairo he ignored all the facts surrounding the overthrow of an elected president. In essence, his message was to support the coup and its aftermath, as he stated, “The United States is firmly committed to helping Egypt succeed in this second chance to realize the promise of the revolution.”

As far back as March 2012, Burns met with MB General Guide Mohammad Badie and his deputy Khayrat Al-Shater. He offered that if the MB maintains the peace treaty with Israel the U.S. would help secure $20 Billion from the GCC countries to help Egypt’s economy. But Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait declined to offer any real help when Morsi was in power. However, within two days of the military coup, Burns’s promise was fulfilled, but to the coup leaders. The leaders of the three countries congratulated Gen. Sisi (not the puppet president installed by the military) for deposing Morsi and pledged to send a $12 Billion aid package as a gift to help stabilize the economy.

Furthermore, Burns promised the coup leader that the US military aid will continue and that the stalled IMF loan that has been languishing for over two years would be promptly approved. In rejecting to call the overthrow of a freely elected president by the military a coup, the U.S. administration demonstrated, yet again, that lofty ideals and rhetoric are sacrificed at the alter of misplaced short term national interests.

Perhaps one measure to assess the regional ramifications of the latest events is the reaction by Israel and the Palestinians. When Mubarak was deposed on February 11, 2011, the Palestinians were jubilant and dancing in the streets, while Israel was in mourning. But when Morsi was overthrown by the military on July 3 the roles were reversed.

Remember Human Rights? Free Speech? Freedom of Assembly?

By the time the assembled speakers behind Gen. Sisi led by ElBaradei, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, and the Coptic Pope finished their blessings of the military coup, the security forces were in full force as hundreds of MB supporters including senior leaders were rounded up on the flimsy charge of instigating violence. Their assets were frozen and their buildings seized. Morsi was detained as Mubarak-era prosecutors threatened to charge him with “escaping prison” when he was illegally arrested by Mubarak security officers on January 27, 2011 during the early days of the 2011 revolution. Astonishingly, the prosecutors also announced that they would investigate the president for “contacting and communicating with foreign elements,” such as Western leaders during his tenure. More than a dozen pro-Morsi media outlets including TV channels, websites, and newspapers were raided and closed. By July 8, the army killed over 80 pro-Morsi demonstrators and injured over 1000 when they were praying and protesting peacefully in front of the Presidential Guards Club, where Morsi is believed to be detained. So far, more than 270 people have been killed and thousands injured by the army and security forces across Egypt.

With overwhelming evidence to the contrary, the military claimed that its soldiers were attacked. Liberal elites and human rights advocates as well as the media mouthpieces echoed the military’s claims and blamed the protesters for being near a military installation. But the Presidential Guards Club is no such thing. Though owned by the Presidential Guards, it is a social and sports club, where officers and their families go for recreational purposes. Since the miltary coup, the Egyptian people have been subjected to a military propaganda unseen since the Nasser era. While Morsi did not shut down a single media outlet despite the demonization campaign against him, all pro-Morsi channels and websites have been shut down or severely curtailed.

Double Standards: No to Morsi’s Decree and Prosecutor. But Yes to the Military’s

The liberal opposition was outraged and went into overdrive when Morsi issued his Nov. 2012 constitutional declaration and sacked the corrupt Mubarak-appointed general prosecutor, a major demand by the revolutionary and youth groups. Despite his good intentions of accelerating the establishment of the democratic institutions that were dismantled by the SCC, Morsi was accused of authoritarianism and heavyhandedness. Yet, most liberals and secularists praised the constitutional decree of the puppet president who was installed by the military shortly after the coup. I will discuss the details of this decree in a subsequent article but suffice it to say that it bestowed on a president chosen by the military powers that Morsi, the democratically-elected president, did not have, since much of his powers were transferred to the Prime Minister in the 2012 constitiution. Moreover, the liberal opposition was in an uproar when Morsi unilaterally appointed a general prosecutor with unquestionable integrity, to the point that corrupt judges and prosecutors harrassed him and surrounded his office for days demanding his resignation. Yet, when a new prosecutor was also unilaterally appointed by the new interim president, not a single judge, prosecutor, or opposition leader objected. Upon assuming office, the first order of business for this new general prosecutor was to freeze the assets of Islamist leaders and order their arrests.

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, you shouldn’t call it a chicken

ElBaradei, who was elected to nothing, is now Egypt’s Vice President, while Morsi, who was freely and democratically elected by the Egyptian electorate, is detained and his whereabouts are unknown. Both of these outcomes were determined by the will of military generals and cheered on by their civilian enablers. The deceit and lies demonstrated by the Egyptian liberal and secular elites are astounding. For years, they taunted the Islamists to respect democratic principles, the rule of law, and submit to the will of the people. They warned against dictatorships, military rule, or sacrificing democractic principles, human rights, personal freedoms, and minority protections. Believing in democratic principles, human rights, and the rule of law is a lifetime commitment. One cannot say, “I will only have these values on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. But for the rest of the week, I will look the other way.” That is called hypocrisy.

Letter to another dishonest “peace” broker

…bent on bypassing the justice process

by Stuart Littlewood

Well John-boy, how do you think history will judge you?

The whole world has heard about your brilliant breakthrough – persuading trigger-happy US-subsidised Israel and the strangulated, unarmed Palestinians to agree “in principle” to resume the one-sided negotiations abandoned three years ago.

The reason they were abandoned, you’ll remember, was simple. The talks were fundamentally bogus, pursued in bad faith and going nowhere, just like all the other talks over the last 20 years. It was talk, talk, talk while the Israelis build, build, build their illegal settlements, illegal annexation wall and Jews-only highways.

The rest of the world, watching from outside the ludicrous peace process circus, will be forgiven for wondering why any of it was ever necessary when the key issues have already been defined, decided and ruled on by international law and a whole heap of UN resolutions.

In spite of that, John-boy, you’re frantically trying to restart a failed and discredited process that has little to do with peace. The aim is plainly to bypass the justice process afforded by international law and UN resolutions and push the Palestinians into pleading for their rights and property directly with the criminals that seized their land, ethnically cleansed it and still have their jackboot on the necks of the Palestinians who remain in the disconnected remnants of their homeland.

Has it not crossed your mind, John-boy, that this charade won’t work because there can be no lasting peace without justice? Didn’t they teach you that at law school? But never mind. The great thing is that it buys more time for the Israelis to establish even more irreversible facts on the ground that will help make the illegal occupation permanent.

Remember what Miko Peled, the Israeli general’s son, said: “The name of the game [is] erasing Palestine, getting rid of the people and de-Arabizing the country…”

Nice game, huh?

Do tell us where there’s a shred of nobility or honesty in what you’re doing, John-boy, we’d love to know.

And what bent you to the Zionist cause in the first place?

The heroic ‘partners for peace’

Now let’s meet the lovely people you’re bringing together for these historic ‘negotiations’.

British court issued Gaza arrest warrant for former Israeli minister Tzipi Livni

In the Israeli corner we have the thug regime’s pin-up, Tzipi Livni. Her parents were both members of the Irgun, the notorious Jewish terror group. Her father, Eitan, was its chief operations officer. In 1946 the Irgun blew up the King David Hotel, Jerusalem, which housed the British mandate administration, murdering 91. She served in a Mossad unit and became a member of the Knesset in 1999. As Israeli foreign minister she was responsible for the slaughter and maiming of thousands, including women and children, when she launched Operation Cast Lead against the overcrowded civilians of the tiny sealed-off enclave of Gaza. Tzipi Livni is up to her pretty neck in Palestinian blood and shredded body-parts.

Top Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat throws his weight behind Kerry’s peace bid

In the Palestinian corner we have one of President Abbas’s closest aides, Saeb Erekat. He’s their chief negotiator and has occupied that vitally important position for 20 years, during which he has achieved… well, what? He must be the most unsuccessful negotiator on the planet. Why is he still there? We know perfectly well why. He’s a loser and can be relied on to fail.

In the background is the Israeli prime minister Netanyahu, a menace to his own nation and the whole civilized world. The best place for him is a padded cell.

Facing him, but quite possibly skipping around hand-in-hand with enemy when off-camera, is the obnoxious quisling Abbas. As everyone knows, this ‘grey suit’ is living a privileged life on borrowed time. His term as Palestinian President officially expired in January 2009, but the western-backed parasite has clung like dried excrement to power.

Thanks to this Palestinian dinosaur I have two vivid images of Palestinians. The first, in Gaza, is the memory of Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh and the crusty old Catholic priest, Fr Manuel Mussallam, who had guarded his flock through the darkest of days, standing shoulder to shoulder in front of the microphones and cameras, each proclaiming that he was Palestinian first and Muslim or Christian second.

That’s unity of a most welcome sort.

The other image is of surly election losers Fatah now playing the part of Israel’s armed rottweiler, harking back to the days of the Vichy French militia which was set up to fight the French Resistance and do much of the Nazis’ dirty work. Is Fatah prepared to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Gaza Palestinians against the common enemy – the occupier – and proclaim themselves “Palestinians first” and Fatah/Hamas second? Judging by their track record, no. Arrest and torture of their own people is more their style, though I daresay there are honourable exceptions.

That’s disunity of a particularly nasty kind.

One of the most grotesque Wikileaks revelations was the disclosure that Abbas knew in advance about the murderous blitz on his countrymen in Gaza in 2008/9. Whether we believe the allegation or not, documents claimed that in a June 2009 meeting between Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak and a US congressional delegation, Barak said that the Israeli government “had consulted with Egypt and Fatah prior to Operation Cast Lead, asking if they were willing to assume control of Gaza once Israel defeated Hamas”.

Fatah deny it. But Abbas’s sidekick Erekat is reported as saying: “We knew about the war because the Israelis were saying there was going to be a war.” Several months before it started, at a meeting that he, Erekat, attended, Abbas asked Israel’s then-prime minister, Ehud Olmert, not to go to war, saying he would not go to Gaza on an Israeli tank. So it seems they were talking about it…

Martin Indyk — former deputy research director for AIPAC, a pro-Israel lobbying group in Washington. (WIKI)

I put it to the Palestinian ambassador in London, Professor Manual Hassassian. He replied: “I am surprised as you are, and cannot confirm the Wikileaks revelations whether they are authentic or not.” No flat-out denial then, nor did he say he would refer the question upwards for clarification. You’d think the embassy would at least wish to show a clean pair of hands.

John-boy, as if the situation wasn’t skewed enough we now hear  you’ve appointed a senior negotiating team of your own – “the right combination of players to work with the parties” – and this is headed by Martin Indyk.

Indyk is Jewish and worked for AIPAC  (a pro-Israel lobbying group in Washington) before becoming closely involved in formulating Middle East policy with the Clinton administration. He also served on the US Israel Science and Technology Commission and as US ambassador to Israel.

So, good call John-boy! If a totally unbalanced approach for settling the future of the Holy Land is what your handlers ordered, you’ve got it.

What’s more, we’re told, Indyk’s appointment to these negotiations is agreed by the Palestinian President. In any other circumstances that would be astonishing.

Palestinians object

Even if Abbas goes along with it, the Kerry ‘big breakthrough’ is not welcomed by your average Palestinian patriot. Independent MP Mustafa Barghouti rejected a return to the negotiating table without clear references to the pre-1967 borders and a halt to all settlement building.

“The experience of 20 years of negotiations has been enough to prove it was a mistake to sign the Oslo accords before a halt to settlement building. The number of settlers on occupied (Palestinian) land has shot up from 150,000 to 600,000 now.”

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a leftist faction under the PLO umbrella, said any return to talks outside the framework of the United Nations and its resolutions amounted to “political suicide”. It wants the Palestinian leadership to join international organizations, especially judicial bodies like the International Criminal Court, which could put pressure on Israel, rather than trading Palestinian rights guaranteed under international law for compromises “which have failed time and again”.

Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said : “The United States has deluded the Palestinian Authority into thinking that there will be a positive outcome in negotiations with Israel,” adding that the PA’s return to the table was a cover for the Israeli agenda of Judaization, settlement building and the displacement of Palestinians.

A return to talks puts Palestinian reconciliation at risk, he said, and stopping political reconciliation for negotiations between the PA and Israel is “very dangerous”. For Hamas, reconciliation is a strategy that must be implemented immediately in view of the current Arab and global situation and US and European collusion with Israel.

Dr. Ahmed Bahar, First Deputy Head of the Legislative Council, said in a statement, that the Ramallah authority’s decision to return to negotiations and accept Israeli conditions was political suicide and an abandonment of Palestinian rights and national constants. He too noted that talks would provide cover for further Judaization and settlement schemes in all the occupied Palestinian territories.

Hassan Khreisha, Second Deputy Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, also regarded a resumption of negotiations as “political suicide” and accused PA leaders in Ramallah of accepting Israeli bribes.

Professor of Political Science Abdul Sattar Qassem accused the Palestinian Authority of treason, saying the resumption of talk was a deal to sell Palestine. He called on the Palestinian people to dismiss these “traitorous negotiators”.

And where is Hamas?

John-boy, if you embrace the principles of democracy why have you left democratically-elected Hamas out of the equation? Why do you deal only with unelected Abbas, who has no legitimacy? Why not give the Palestinian side time (and pressure Abbas as necessary) to conclude unity talks so that they can speak with a single authoritative voice… that’s if you’re truly interested in fairness.

And if you’re a good Catholic have you, during your many visits to Jerusalem, met the Latin Patriarch and his team for a thorough briefing on the real situation in the Holy Land? If so, tell everyone about it, please.

In 2004 this article was saying : “Kerry’s Middle East Policy is a dangerous journey mapped out on a carbon copy of Israel’s view of the conflict. After the Bush Administration’s similar position and laissez faire approach to gross Israeli violations of human rights, Palestinians can expect few changes to the present misery.”

What has changed, John-boy?

And by the way, why are these talks being held in Washington instead of neutral ground? More to the point, why is the US directly involved at all when there’s such a massive and obvious conflict of interest? Shouldn’t legal agencies such as the ICC be handling it? Your valuable help will of course be needed in implementing and enforcing UN and court rulings.
