‘Blindfolded & bound’: Zio-Nazi puts more Palestinian kids in solitary confinement

Israel is placing more and more Palestinian children in solitary confinement as part of the interrogation process, a new study reveals. The children are often blindfolded, bound and sleep deprived. Neither they nor parents know the reasons for arrest.

“Solitary confinement for detained Palestinian children was used in 21.4 percent of cases in 2013,” says the report released by Defense for Children International Palestine (DCI-Palestine), a national section of the international non-governmental child rights organization and movement. The numbers have shown a 2-percent rise since 2012.

The organization took at least 98 sworn affidavits from Palestinian children between the ages of 12 to 17 in 2013 and submitted the information to UN bodies.

“The average number of Palestinian children in Israeli military detention at the end of each month during 2013 was 199,” says the organization which took the data from the Israeli Prison Service (IPS) and from Israeli army temporary detention facilities, including Petah Tikva detention center, Kishon detention center and Shikma prison in Ashkelon which lead the interrogations.

According to the report, detained children spent an average of 10 days of isolation, with the longest period being 28 days. It also adds that about 32 children between 12 and 15 years old were arrested at the end of each month in 2013. The highest number of detained teens of this age was in May, at 48.

In 34 out of 40 cases (85 percent), the children are detained “during the middle of the night by heavily-armed Israeli soldiers“ while in 38 out of 40 cases (95 percent), neither the parents nor the child were told the reasons for arrest, says the study.

Also about 76.5 percent of Palestinian children taken by Israeli troops in West Bank suffered from certain form of violence during arrest, transfer or interrogation in 2013, says the report.

“Children arrive at Israeli interrogation centers blindfolded, bound and sleep deprived,” says the study.“Interrogations tend to be coercive, including a variety of verbal abuse, threats and physical violence that ultimately result in a confession.”

In 2013, in at least 96 percent of cases DCI-Palestine documented that the children “were questioned alone and rarely informed of their rights.” The children were also interrogated “without the benefit of legal advice, or being properly informed of their right to silence.”

The interrogation techniques are usually both mental and physical, including “intimidation, threats and physical violence with a clear purpose of obtaining a confession… and/or gather intelligence or information on other individuals.”

“The use of isolation against Palestinian children as an interrogation tool is a growing trend,” said Ayed Abu Eqtaish, Accountability Program director at DCI-Palestine. “This is a violation of children’s rights and the international community must demand justice and accountability.”

The majority of Palestinian children are accused of throwing stones, charges that may lead to up to 20 years imprisonment, depending on a child’s age, according to an Israeli Military Order.

“Although many children maintain their innocence, most plead guilty because this is the quickest way out of a system that rarely grants bail,” adds the study.

After the sentence, from 50 to 60 percent of child detainees from Palestine are transferred to prisons inside Israel. This move is a clear violation of Article 76 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, adds the document.

DCI-Palestine urges to recognize using solitary confinement on children in Israeli detention facilities as a form of torture which should be stopped immediately.

“Israeli authorities must implement effective accountability measures to ensure all credible reports of torture and ill-treatment are impartially investigated and perpetrators are held accountable,” says the report.

DCI-Palestine has already issued at least 15 complaints concerning ill-treatment and violence towards 10 Palestinian children detained by the Israeli military in 2013. However, no indictment has been launched against the offenders yet.

DCI-Palestine, which has been investigating the human rights of Children in Palestine since 1967, says that “each year approximately 500-700 Palestinian children from the occupied West Bank, some as young as 12 years old, are detained and imprisoned in the Israeli military detention system, where ill-treatment of children is widespread and systematic.”

“Palestinian child detainees are then prosecuted in Israeli military courts that lack fundamental fair trial guarantees and are not designed or administered to respect children’s rights,” says the report.

Also, according to the study since 2000, “about 8,000 Palestinian children have been detained and prosecuted in the Israeli military court system.”

“The practice of using solitary confinement on children in Israeli military detention, whether in pretrial detention for interrogation purposes or as a form of punishment, must be stopped immediately and the prohibition must be enshrined in law,” says the DCI in conclusion.

The Israeli military detention system has been often criticized by Palestine as well as the world organizations, including the UN and UNICEF, for ill-treatment of Palestinian children.

In April, the Palestinian Authority’s minister of social affairs, Kamal Sharafi, said at least 1,520 Palestinian children died at the hands of Israeli forces since 2000. He also added that about 6,000 have been injured and more than 10,000 arrested.

In June 2013, the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) issued a report stating that thousands of Palestinian children were systematically injured, tortured and used as human shields by Israel.

During the 10-year period examined by UN human rights experts, up to 7,000 children aged nine to 17 were arrested, interrogated and kept captive, CRC said in the report.

Tymoshenko – “8 million Ukraine Russians must be killed with nuclear weapons”

Ukraine’s Iron Lady – “Can you feel my love?”

” I am ready to grab a machinegun and shoot that motherf__ker [Putin] in the head.”

” I would have found a way to kill those  assh_les.  I hope I will be able to get all of my connections involved.”

” And I will use all of my means to make the entire world rise up, so there wouldn’t even be a scorched field left in Russia.”

On a question of what to do with the 8 million Russians left inside the Ukraine she says, “They must be killed with nuclear weapons.”

[ Editors Note:  The Neocons and NATO…they sure know how to pick dependable allies. I had a feeling that the Russians are sitting on a mountain of these ‘can you feel my love’ recordings. They are sending a message to all the other Western leaders a message to consider what they have on them. You all know what I am going to say now.

“You just can’t make this stuff up.”

Franceco Nitti - a Statesman...the kind we don't have anywhere other than the Marlboro man of Russia it seems.

Franceco Nitti – a Statesman…the kind we don’t have anywhere other than the Marlboro man of Russia it seems.

Dear Miss Iron lady,

You lost Crimea because you overplayed your hand. The unconstitutional coup and the 100 sniper murders gave the Crimeans and the Russians total justification for taking defensive actions. You were even too stupid to say stuff like this on the phone.

I wouldn’t trust you to run a girl scout troop…but I think you would do just fine as an executioner in a prison camp somewhere. You show a lot of talent toward that area. Unfortunately, I don’t foresee a happy ending for either you, or those foolish enough to follow you.

As Francesco Nitti, ex-Prime Minister of Italy between the great wars said,

“Statesmen are the most directly responsible for the continuation of a language of violence. They should be the first to speak the language of peace.” …The Wreck of Europe, Nitti… 1922.

You madam,  are no stateswoman…not by a long shot. You are just another political thug like those that killed their own people on the Maidan. You have just proved that any and all defensive measures against you and your gangsters are totally justified… Jim W. Dean ]

Sovereignty: Our Need to Uphold It on All Sides

Sovereignty: Our Need to Uphold It on All Sides

By Ann Diener

With the Western escalation of the situation in Ukraine by basically attempting to put NATO at Russia’s front door, we have to wonder what our political leaders are thinking, and if they are not aware of Russian interests and sovereignty. While I am not a fan of Russian policy towards internal control and potential manipulation, our lack of ability to look at ourselves and the real danger our actions may cause is disconcerting.

The West is using Russia’s protection of their naval base in Crimea and for ethnic Russian people in Crimea, who have themselves chosen Russia over a Western backed “revolution,” to increase dominance in an area of historical, political and military significance that is almost sacred to Russia. Western leaders are not attempting to understand, balance all interests and come to mutually accountable talks and agreements between Ukraine, the European Union and Russia. If the “revolution” had been provoked by a less favored country, it would have been called a coup to potentially secure military dominance, and we would have fought against it.

For example, if Russia would have invested $5 billion in a pro-Russian revolution in Poland, employed diplomats and protestors to assist in a mass pro-Russian uprising in the country, had FSB assets on the ground handing out leaflets on how to protest and then not investigated an event where snipers on roof tops shot both protestors and police, while Russia was saying the government in power did this to the Russian leaning protestors, and while shortly after international officials were caught on tape suspecting it was the Russians themselves that killed the protestors and police, the West would be screaming “coup!” even if the leader in power was as corrupt as former President Viktor Yanukovych. So why is this not happening now. and what are the unseen implications?

I read an interesting comment the other day on Veterans Today in an article entitled Russian Defense Minister urges Hagel to stay cool by Arjan, who said, “Is it totally out of the question that the real objective of the true powers of this planet is to bring Putin and Russia to world power? I do not have totally convincing reasons to think this, just some small clues.

“The Protocols clearly state that part of the plan is to give bad advice to political leadership, who should thus be cast out by ‘the people,’ only for them (the authors of the Protocols) to move in and assume power. Western political leaders clearly are helping themselves on the way to total annihilation by the people.”

This is really interesting because when you think about the overall situation and reactions to issues of the past and present, very little has been done to indict potential criminal behavior which includes the launching of the Iraq war based on false pretenses, the Afghanistan war which actually created more terrorism and increased the heroin outputs of a country that had nearly eradicated opium production, NSA spying on US and International citizens as well as government officials without just cause or warrant, torture and rendition programs that are all illegal, drone strikes that violate national sovereignty of other countries and routinely kill civilians as well as our lack of oversight and investigation of these strikes, financial mismanagement and all-out financial corruption of our banking system – the US banks that caused the crash tied to falsely packaged and falsely insured mortgage backed securities, the list goes on to include US corporate corruption and the eroding of civil rights in America including freedom of speech and the press.

Who looks like the bully here? Who is being cast out by the people? It seems to be us/US.

With under investigated events such as 9/11/2001, where questioning the official narrative, even when done by qualified professionals such as architects, engineers and pilots, is made to look like “tin foil hat material,” even though no one will officially debate these professionals. No one of prominence will give credence to the validity of the professionals’ questions, nor allow those who “officially” investigated the event to be forced to answer valid questions in a complete inquiry. This also brings to mind the CIA report on torture that has been lurking in the Senate, waiting to be brought forth for the public to see what was done in our name.

I ask again who looks like the bully? If it is us/US, who will “save the bullied” which is also us/US and lots of other people, internationally?

I have always wondered why no one in the international community has called us/US out on all of these actions?

In my opinion, this all began long ago because those who are behind the scenes never really wanted America to be successful. The idea of a sovereign people having freedoms we fought for was counter to their concepts of power over and control of the people, which in their minds needed to be controlled. I had heard of the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” but I had never read them until recently. Their premise is that humans are by their very nature bad and this in turn allows or forces those in leadership to control the people through mostly covert means in order to maintain or create “order.”

What is interesting now is that the alternative media who is usually the leading thinkers, the outcasts that are usually years ahead of their time, are seeing all of the negative acts committed by the West and are writing about them, Tweeting about them and Facebooking articles about them. The slant is anti-Western. It is like we have all had enough of these atrocities “we” have committed and so badly want a hero to emerge that will call those who live with impunity to task on all of these issues. We would like a foreign policy based on true morality, with equality and understanding of all sides interests and want a middle ground that the West is no longer pursuing because of its perception of its own righteousness.

In another article in Veterans Today, NEO – Ukraine: International Law for the Lawless Seth Ferris, investigative journalist and political scientist, for the online magazine “New Eastern Outlook,” said something very accurate about Western morality, “If you think your values are better than anyone else’s, only you can have a moral obligation, and only the actions you like can have a moral basis. If others are also moral you have to accept that you should not allow your less-than-moral actions, which you justify by the moral ones, to occur, because morality is not your exclusive preserve.”

This brings forth the ideas of self-policing and awareness. Many people in the West have been potentially waiting for an external force to come down on the American government to bring about an inquiry into the potential crimes it has committed, but no one has come forward. Only silence as well as the silencing of its citizens by the main stream press, who no longer ask tough questions of their leaders and refuse to bring to light any alternative thought other than the narrative created by the government, corporations and think tanks working for those interests, has occurred. The silence of the opposition is deafening in the main stream.

So why is this happening, other than the thought that we are the “ultimate super power” able to make and break the laws? For every law broken and every lack of accountability, our opposition in the East feels they are right – more right than we are. They don’t need to speak out or call us into account because “we are digging our own grave.” With our financial entanglements and incursions both past and present, we probably are. And, we may have walked into a trap that may have been in part created and encouraged by the “puppet masters” all the while supporting maneuvering previously what was done to weaken America economically, ideologically and emotionally.

Back in 1997, I watched as China established trade that virtually surrounded the US and there was a huge influx of Russians into the Northwest as well a surprising military incursion rumor I heard about during that time. Since the Cold War was over, the threat of this was negated, but it was clear that the idea of the “Cold War being over” could motivate those who believe in this type of authoritarian or oligarchical style of government to utilize this perception to increase penetration within America as they were growing uncomfortable with the Democracy movement in China and Russia that could dis-empower the elite in those countries. What better way to bring down democracy globally than to encourage lawlessness through silence about crimes committed by the “idealist democracy of America.” They could penetrate our system easily and then just stand by and watch it collapse ideologically first with lack of investigation, then with our using of false pretenses to commit war crimes and finally our own tightening/removal personal of freedoms and privacy of our citizens, all the while creating resentment amongst American people and malaise, anger as well as mental anguish amongst its honest service members and politicians. The people then so emotionally defeated and financially deflated may welcome in the side backed by the “Elders of Zion,” with open arms because they “will restore our system and hold that system into account.” That side, potentially China and Russia, most likely honors the Elders perceptions of control over the people and may move in with ease covertly into a previously sovereignty based country with not a single shot was fired, potentially after a potential financial and military crisis.

Currently we are in the process of emotionally casting our leaders out based on their actions which are counter to democratic ideals, counter to international law and counter to our American Constitution. While casting them out is good and bringing awareness is necessary, the lack of government investigation is only encouraging the penetration of the covert opposition that hopes to erode American ideals for their own benefit. Our foreign policy and saber rattling as well as obvious lack of ability to see all interests on the table to negotiate the middle ground only emboldens those who watch silently, waiting for the moment to remove the bottom card from the stack of cards.

This means that the “

” President John F. Kennedy referred to in his speech on press freedom is winning. It is time for us to refute the very basis for their power and control over the people, the premise itself written about in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. They believe the one Universal Law is the law of force and control through force, however, in reality there is but one Natural and Universal Law, and that is the Law of Sovereignty. It is illegal to harm another. American individualism and opportunity, the American Dream is based on that one Universal Law of Sovereignty. It is time we uphold and honor that law and stop ignoring our own incursions, if only to save ourselves.

Shocking Videos: Here is Ukraine since the NATO Coup

Shocking Videos: Here is Ukraine since the NATO Coup

by  F. William Engdahl,  with Ukrainian help

"We are here to solicit your vote"

“We are here to solicit your vote”

The events in Ukraine since the start of anti-Yanukovich protests last November have been reported in Germany and in the Western mainstream media such that we are led to believe the ousted Yanukovich regime was evil and the new regime are the good democrats.

What has been deliberately censored from Western media is the reality on the ground. Here are a number of amateur videos filmed during and after the coup that paint an alarming picture of the new regime that now might join NATO if Washington has its way.

While thousands of honest Ukrainians protested peacefully for change and against the official corruption, the control of the opposition was always in the hands of brutal, organized neo-nazi groups such as Pravy Sektor (Right Sector) and, behind them, the hard-core trained killers of UNA-UNSO (Ukrainian National Assembly-Ukrainian National Defense Organization) headed by Andrei Shkil, former adviser of the corrupt Julya Timoschenko.

The fascist thugs, in many ways comparable to the Black Shirts of Mussolini fascists, are tied intimately to the parliamentary party, Svoboda, of  Oleh Tyahnybok.

Tyahnybok in 2004 was expelled from Parliament, where he had a seat under another party, for a speech where he called on Ukrainians to fight against a “Muscovite-Jewish mafia,” and celebrated the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) during World War II for having fought “Moscovites, Germans, Jews and other scum who wanted to take away our Ukrainian state.”[i] Responding to subsequent public criticism, he said he was not anti-Semitic, but pro-Ukrainian!

After that incident, the friends of Tyahnybok in the Le Pen FN party in France began advising Svoboda on how to polish its image and downplay its anti-semitic views. It was a PR move, little more, aimed to get political influence.

We know Nuland has very close ties with the Neo-Con War Party

We know Nuland has very close ties with the Neo-Con War Party

Both the US State Department Assistant Secretary, neo-con Victoria “Fuck the EU” Nuland, and National Endowment for Democracy’s Senator John McCain, have met and embraced Tyahnybok. They well know who these people are.

Svoboda was founded in 1991 as the Social-National Party of Ukraine, deliberately suggesting an infamous German party from the Second World War era.

They trace their roots to a pro-Nazi Ukrainian nationalist Stepan Bandera, whose  Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) was implicated together with the Nazis in killing of Ukrainian Jews. [ii] Their original symbol was a stylized Swastika:

Svoboda now has five party members in the new “self-elected” regime of NATO-backed “acting” Prime Minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, who himself was the choice of Nuland according to her leaked phone call last month with US Kiev Ambassador Pyatt.

Shocking Videos

The true character of the mob that the US and EU have backed in Ukraine is best shown in a series of videos that have been but online.

Here follows a private video of the takeover of Ukraine’s Parliament by Svoboda and other right-wing groups, beating up the elected Yanukovich parliament members. In the days just after the coup a member of the Yanukovich coalition, Partia Regionov, begins a speech in Russian language.

Then Svoboda leader Oleh Tyahnybok comes to the podium and forbids him to speak the language of the “enemy.” After that begins a barroom brawl led by Svoboda against the others. Note the Svoboda MP with the long ponytail. He led the beating later of the head of Ukrainian TV 1:

YouTube:   В Верховной раде Украины снова подрались –

Then, here are a group of thugs led by the man in a long ponytail, a Svoboda Parliament member. They confront the head of Ukrainian UA TV1 for covering the fact of the Crimea referendum and Putin’s speech from Moscow. In this video “revolutionary” goons from Svoboda enter the office of the director of the Ukrainian First Channel TV station in Kiev to complain about his coverage of events in Ukraine. They are furious and demand he give names of those who told him to show the Crimea referendum voting and the Putin speech from Moscow. The thugs began beating him, and after the interview reportedly carried him to a car and took him to an unknown destination:

YouTube ansehen: Ч-1 Бандеровцы взялись за СМИ Украины – Избиение директора канала –

And after that, in this next video the same Svoboda member (with long pony tail) who led the beating of the UA TV head, defends his actions to outraged Ukrainian reporters who ask him to apologize for his brutal actions. First he lies and says, “I have attacked no one. I have done the right thing .” Because he is a Parliament member, he has immunity from prosecution.

The journalists demand he surrender his parliamentary immunity. Then he laughs cynically. Finally he argues that Putin and Russia are the enemy and Ukraine TV is not allowed to show a program about them. When the journalists press the issue not of politics but human rights, he replies, “In such an almost war situation, every patriot would understand…I have only done something good…” Here is the video:

Fascist thugs patrol streets

In the days since the US-backed coup, according to citizens in Ukrainian I am in contact with, after the new regime dissolved the National Police, members of the Right Sector took over police functions in Kiev. Groups of young men, mainly members of Right Sector, have been patrolling the streets armed with baseball bats and weapons.

In some documented instances according to these reports from ordinary Ukrainians, they come in groups to homes of people identified as “pro-Russian” and force them out of their homes or take their possessions, as they term it “privatization” actions. The population lives in a state of terror they liken to the Stalin-era terror.

There are reports that the some 5,000 members of Right Sector are being incorporated into a newly-organized National Guard.

Right Sector is trying fast to clean up its image. Last week the group issued a VKontakte (Russian Facebook equivalent) appeal to anyone in the West with ability to edit Wikipedia, asking them to delete references to their anti-semitic and neo-fascist background.

According to Wikipedia’s logs, on a Monday the Right Sector entry described the party as having “borderline fascist or neo-fascist views.” On Tuesday the page was modified 174 times, including changes to describe Right Sector as an “organization to protect demonstrators” and a “youth patriot organization.”

After the intervention of Wikipedia administrators, the page was locked and reverted to saying that Right Sector was “described by major Western newspapers as having far right or neo-fascist views.” [iii]

A relevant question is what role NATO and the US intelligence and special forces have played in training and deploying Right Sector (Pravy Sektor) as well as Svoboda and, especially, UNA-UNSO in Ukraine.

This is now the regime the United States State Department has forced on Ukraine. This side of the Ukrainian opposition has yet to be honestly reported in any of the mainstream Western media. We might ask, Why?

Michael Rivero: All Wars Are Bankers’ Wars!

As long as Private Central Banks are allowed to exist, inevitably as the night follows day there will be poverty, hopelessness, and millions of deaths in endless World Wars, until the Earth itself is sacrificed in flames.

By Michael Rivero

I know many people have a great deal of difficulty comprehending just how many wars are started for no other purpose than to force private central banks onto nations, so let me share a few examples, so that you understand why the US Government is mired in so many wars against so many foreign nations. There is ample precedent for this.

The United States fought the American Revolution primarily over King George III’s Currency act, which forced the colonists to conduct their business only using printed bank notes borrowed from the Bank of England at interest.

“The bank hath benefit of interest on all moneys which it creates out of nothing.” — William Paterson, founder of the Bank of England in 1694

After the revolution, the new United States adopted a radically different economic system in which the government issued its own value-based money, so that private banks like the Bank of England were not siphoning off the wealth of the people through interest-bearing bank notes.

“The refusal of King George 3rd to allow the colonies to operate an honest money system, which freed the ordinary man from the clutches of the money manipulators, was probably the prime cause of the revolution.” — Benjamin Franklin, Founding Father

Mayer Amschel Rothschild 270 x 348

Mayer Amschel Rothschild

But bankers are nothing if not dedicated to their schemes to acquire your wealth, and know full well how easy it is to corrupt a nation’s leaders.

Just one year after Mayer Amschel Rothschild had uttered his infamous “Let me issue and control a nation’s money and I care not who makes the laws”, the bankers succeeded in setting up a new Private Central Bank called the First Bank of the United States, largely through the efforts of the Rothschild’s chief US supporter, Alexander Hamilton.

Founded in 1791, by the end of its twenty year charter the First Bank of the United States had almost ruined the nation’s economy, while enriching the bankers.

Congress refused to renew the charter and signaled their intention to go back to a state issued value based currency on which the people paid no interest at all to any banker.

This resulted in a threat from Nathan Mayer Rothschild against the US Government, “Either the application for renewal of the charter is granted, or the United States will find itself involved in a most disastrous war.” Congress still refused to renew the charter for the First Bank of the United States, whereupon Nathan Mayer Rothschild railed, “Teach those impudent Americans a lesson! Bring them back to colonial status!”

The British Prime Minister at the time, Spencer Perceval was adamantly opposed to war with the United States, primarily because the majority of England’s military might was occupied with the ongoing Napoleonic wars. Spencer Perceval was concerned that Britain might not prevail in a new American war, a concern shared by many in the British government. Then, Spencer Perceval was assassinated (the only British Prime Minister to be assassinated in office) and replaced by Robert Banks Jenkinson, the 2nd Earl of Liverpool, who was fully supportive of a war to recapture the colonies.

“If my sons did not want wars, there would be none.” — Gutle Schnaper, wife of Mayer Amschel Rothschild and mother of his five sons

Financed at virtually no interest by the Rothschild controlled Bank of England, Britain then provoked the war of 1812 to recolonize the United States and force them back into the slavery of the Bank of England, or to plunge the United States into so much debt they would be forced to accept a new private central bank. And the plan worked. Even though the War of 1812 was won by the United States, Congress was forced to grant a new charter for yet another private bank issuing the public currency as loans at interest, the Second Bank of the United States. Once again, private bankers were in control of the nation’s money supply and cared not who made the laws or how many British and American soldiers had to die for it.

Once again the nation was plunged into debt, unemployment, and poverty by the predations of the private central bank, and in 1832 Andrew Jackson successfully campaigned for his second term as President under the slogan,“Jackson And No Bank!” True to his word, Jackson succeeds in blocking the renewal of the charter for the Second Bank of the United States.

Andrew Jackson 296 x 310

President Andrew Jackson

“Gentlemen! I too have been a close observer of the doings of the Bank of the United States. I have had men watching you for a long time, and am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country.

When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter I shall ruin ten thousand families.

That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin!

You are a den of vipers and thieves. I have determined to rout you out, and by the Eternal, (bringing his fist down on the table) I will rout you out!” — Andrew Jackson, shortly before ending the charter of the Second Bank of the United States. From the original minutes of the Philadelphia committee of citizens sent to meet with President Jackson (February 1834), according to Andrew Jackson and the Bank of the United States (1928) by Stan V. Henkels

Shortly after President Jackson (the only American President to actually pay off the National Debt) ended the Second Bank of the United States, there was an attempted assassination which failed when both pistols used by the assassin, Richard Lawrence, failed to fire. Lawrence later said that with Jackson dead, “Money would be more plenty.”

President Zachary Taylor opposed the creation of a new Private Central Bank, owing to the historical abuses of the First and Second Banks of the United States.

“The idea of a national bank is dead, and will not be revived in my time.” — Zachary Taylor

Taylor died on July 9, 1850 after eating a bowl of cherries and milk rumored to have been poisoned. The symptoms he displayed are consistent with acute arsenic poisoning.

President James Buchanan also opposed a private central bank. During the panic of 1857 he attempted to set limits on banks issuing more loans than they had actual funds, and to require all issued bank notes to be backed by Federal Government assets. He was poisoned with arsenic and survived, although 38 other people at the dinner died.

Of course, the public school system is as subservient to the bankers’ wishes to keep certain history from you, just as the corporate media is subservient to Monsanto’s wishes to keep the dangers of GMO’s from you, and the global warming cult’s wishes to conceal from you that the Earth has actually been cooling for the last 16 years. Thus is should come as little surprise that much of the real reasons for the events of the Civil War are not well known to the average American.

“The few who understand the system will either be so interested in its profits or be so dependent upon its favours that there will be no opposition from that class, while on the other hand, the great body of people, mentally incapable of comprehending the tremendous advantage that capital derives from the system, will bear its burdens without complaint, and perhaps without even suspecting that the system is inimical to their interests.” — The Rothschild brothers of London writing to associates in New York, 1863

When the Confederacy seceded from the United States, the bankers once again saw the opportunity for a rich harvest of debt, and offered to fund Lincoln’s efforts to bring the south back into the union, but at 30% interest. Lincoln remarked that he would not free the black man by enslaving the white man to the bankers and using his authority as President, issued a new government currency, the greenback.

Lincoln's Greenback Dollar

Lincoln’s Greenback Dollar

This was a direct threat to the wealth and power of the central bankers, who quickly responded.

“If this mischievous financial policy, which has its origin in North America, shall become endurated down to a fixture, then that Government will furnish its own money without cost. It will pay off debts and be without debt. It will have all the money necessary to carry on its commerce. It will become prosperous without precedent in the history of the world. The brains, and wealth of all countries will go to North America. That country must be destroyed or it will destroy every monarchy on the globe.” — The London Times responding to Lincoln’s decision to issue government Greenbacks to finance the Civil War, rather than agree to private banker’s loans at 30% interest.

In 1872 New York bankers sent a letter to every bank in the United States, urging them to fund newspapers that opposed government-issued money (Lincoln’s greenbacks).

“Dear Sir: It is advisable to do all in your power to sustain such prominent daily and weekly newspapers… as will oppose the issuing of greenback paper money, and that you also withhold patronage or favors from all applicants who are not willing to oppose the Government issue of money. Let the Government issue the coin and the banks issue the paper money of the country… [T]o restore to circulation the Government issue of money, will be to provide the people with money, and will therefore seriously affect your individual profit as bankers and lenders.” — Triumphant plutocracy; the story of American public life from 1870 to 1920, by Lynn Wheeler
“It will not do to allow the greenback, as it is called, to circulate as money any length of time, as we cannot control that.” — Triumphant plutocracy; the story of American public life from 1870 to 1920, by Lynn Wheeler
“Slavery is likely to be abolished by the war power, and chattel slavery destroyed. This, I and my European friends are in favor of, for slavery is but the owning of labor and carries with it the care for the laborer, while the European plan, led on by England, is for capital to control labor by controlling the wages. THIS CAN BE DONE BY CONTROLLING THE MONEY.” — Triumphant plutocracy; the story of American public life from 1870 to 1920, by Lynn Wheeler

Goaded by the private bankers, much of Europe supported the Confederacy against the Union, with the expectation that victory over Lincoln would mean the end of the Greenback. France and Britain considered an outright attack on the United States to aid the confederacy, but were held at bay by Russia, which had just ended the serfdom system and had a state central bank similar to the system the United States had been founded on. Left free of European intervention, the Union won the war, and Lincoln announced his intention to go on issuing greenbacks. Following Lincoln’s assassination, the Greenbacks were pulled from circulation and the American people forced to go back to an economy based on bank notes borrowed at interest from the private bankers. Tsar Alexander II, who authorized Russian military assistance to Lincoln, was subsequently the victim of multiple attempts on his life in 1866, 1879, and 1880, until his assassination in 1881.

James A. Garfield was elected President in 1880 on a platform of government control of the money supply.

President James Garfield 504 x 640

President James A. Garfield

“The chief duty of the National Government in connection with the currency of the country is to coin money and declare its value.

Grave doubts have been entertained whether Congress is authorized by the Constitution to make any form of paper money legal tender.

The present issue of United States notes has been sustained by the necessities of war; but such paper should depend for its value and currency upon its convenience in use and its prompt redemption in coin at the will of the holder, and not upon its compulsory circulation.

These notes are not money, but promises to pay money. If the holders demand it, the promise should be kept. — James Garfield

“By the experience of commercial nations in all ages it has been found that gold and silver afford the only safe foundation for a monetary system.

Confusion has recently been created by variations in the relative value of the two metals, but I confidently believe that arrangements can be made between the leading commercial nations which will secure the general use of both metals. Congress should provide that the compulsory coinage of silver now required by law may not disturb our monetary system by driving either metal out of circulation. If possible, such an adjustment should be made that the purchasing power of every coined dollar will be exactly equal to its debt-paying power in all the markets of the world. –James Garfield

“He who controls the money supply of a nation controls the nation. — James Garfield

Garfield was shot on July 2, 1881 and died of his wounds several weeks later. Chester A. Arthur succeeded Garfield as President.

In 1896, William McKinley was elected President in the middle of a depression-driven debate over gold-backed government currency versus bank notes borrowed at interest from private banks. McKinley favored gold-backed currencies and a balanced government budget which would free the public from accumulating debt.

“Our financial system needs some revision; our money is all good now, but its value must not further be threatened. It should all be put upon an enduring basis, not subject to easy attack, nor its stability to doubt or dispute. Our currency should continue under the supervision of the Government. The several forms of our paper money offer, in my judgment, a constant embarrassment to the Government and a safe balance in the Treasury.” — William McKinley

McKinley was shot by an out-of-work anarchist on September 14, 1901, in Buffalo, NY, succumbing to his wounds a few days later. He was succeeded in office by Theodore Roosevelt.

Finally, in 1913, the Private Central Bankers of Europe, in particular the Rothschilds of Great Britain and the Warburgs of Germany, met with their American financial collaborators on Jekyll Island, Georgia to form a new banking cartel with the express purpose of forming the Third Bank of the United States, with the aim of placing complete control of the United States money supply once again under the control of private bankers. Owing to hostility over the previous banks, the name was changed to “The Federal Reserve” system in order to grant the new bank a quasi-governmental image, but in fact it is a privately owned bank, no more “Federal” than Federal Express. Indeed, in 2012, the Federal Reserve attempted to rebuff a Freedom of Information Lawsuit by Bloomberg News on the grounds that as a private banking corporation and not actually a part of the government, the Freedom of Information Act did not apply to the “trade secret” operations of the Federal Reserve.

“When you or I write a check, there must be sufficient funds in our account to cover the check; but when the Federal Reserve writes a check, there is no bank deposit on which that check is drawn. When the Federal Reserve writes a check, it is creating money.” — From the Boston Federal Reserve Bank pamphlet, “Putting it Simply.”

“Neither paper currency nor deposits have value as commodities. Intrinsically, a ‘dollar’ bill is just a piece of paper. Deposits are merely book entries.” — “Modern Money Mechanics Workbook” Federal Reserve of Chicago, 1975

“I am afraid the ordinary citizen will not like to be told that the banks can and do create money. And they who control the credit of the nation direct the policy of Governments and hold in the hollow of their hand the destiny of the people.” — Reginald McKenna, as Chairman of the Midland Bank, addressing stockholders in 1924

“States, most especially the large hegemonic ones, such as the United States and Great Britain, are controlled by the international central banking system, working through secret agreements at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), and operating through national central banks (such as the Bank of England and the Federal Reserve)… The same international banking cartel that controls the United States today previously controlled Great Britain and held it up as the international hegemon. When the British order faded, and was replaced by the United States, the US ran the global economy. However, the same interests are served. States will be used and discarded at will by the international banking cartel; they are simply tools.” — Andrew Gavin Marshall

1913 proved to be a transformative year for the nation’s economy, first with the passage of the 16th “income tax” Amendment and the false claim that it had been ratified.

“I think if you were to go back and and try to find and review the ratification of the 16th amendment, which was the internal revenue, the income tax, I think if you went back and examined that carefully, you would find that a sufficient number of states never ratified that amendment.” – U.S. District Court Judge James C. Fox, Sullivan Vs. United States, 2003.

Later that same year, and apparently unwilling to risk another questionable amendment, Congress passed the Federal Reserve Act over Christmas holiday 1913, while members of Congress opposed to the measure were at home. This was a very underhanded deal, as the Constitution explicitly vests Congress with the authority to issue the public currency, does not authorize its delegation, and thus should have required a new Amendment to transfer that authority to a private bank. But pass it Congress did, and President Woodrow Wilson signed it as he promised the bankers he would in exchange for generous campaign contributions. Wilson later regretted that decision.

Federal Reserve Act signed by Woodrow Wilson, 1913

“I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is now controlled by its system of credit. We are no longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.” — Woodrow Wilson 1919

The next year, World War One started, and it is important to remember that prior to the creation of the Federal Reserve, there was no such thing as a world war.

World War One started between Austria-Hungary and Serbia, but quickly shifted to focus on Germany, whose industrial capacity was seen as an economic threat to Great Britain, who saw the decline of the British Pound as a result of too much emphasis on financial activity to the neglect of agriculture, industrial development, and infrastructure (not unlike the present day United States). Although pre-war Germany had a private central bank, it was heavily restricted and inflation kept to reasonable levels. Under government control, investment was guaranteed to internal economic development, and Germany was seen as a major power. So, in the media of the day, Germany was portrayed as the prime opponent of World War One, and not just defeated, but its industrial base flattened. Following the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was ordered to pay the war costs of all the participating nations, even though Germany had not actually started the war. This amounted to three times the value of all of Germany itself. Germany’s private central bank, to whom Germany had gone deeply into debt to pay the costs of the war, broke free of government control, and massive inflation followed (mostly triggered by currency speculators) , permanently trapping the German people in endless debt.

When the Weimar Republic collapsed economically, it opened the door for the National Socialists to take power. Their first financial move was to issue their own state currency which was not borrowed from private central bankers. Freed from having to pay interest on the money in circulation, Germany blossomed and quickly began to rebuild its industry. The media called it “The German Miracle”. TIME magazine lionized Hitler for the amazing improvement in life for the German people and the explosion of German industry, and even named him TIME Magazine’s Man Of The Year in 1938.

Once again, Germany’s industrial output became a threat to Great Britain.

“Should Germany merchandise (do business) again in the next 50 years we have led this war (WW1) in vain.” – Winston Churchill in The Times (1919)

“We will force this war upon Hitler, if he wants it or not.” – Winston Churchill (1936 broadcast)

“Germany becomes too powerful. We have to crush it.” – Winston Churchill (November 1936 speaking to US – General Robert E. Wood)

“This war is an English war and its goal is the destruction of Germany.” – Winston Churchill (- Autumn 1939 broadcast)

Germany’s state-issued value based currency was also a direct threat to the wealth and power of the private central banks, and as early as 1933 they started to organize a global boycott against Germany to strangle this upstart ruler who thought he could break free of private central bankers!

Judea Declares War on Germany, March 24, 1933

As had been the case in World War One, Great Britain and other nations threatened by Germany’s economic power looked for an excuse to go to war, and as public anger in Germany grew over the boycott, Hitler foolishly gave them that excuse. Years later, in a spirit of candor, the real reasons for that war were made clear.

“The war wasn’t only about abolishing fascism, but to conquer sales markets. We could have, if we had intended so, prevented this war from breaking out without doing one shot, but we didn’t want to.”- Winston Churchill to Truman (Fultun, USA March 1946)

“Germany’s unforgivable crime before WW2 was its attempt to loosen its economy out of the world trade system and to build up an independent exchange system from which the world-finance couldn’t profit anymore. …We butchered the wrong pig.” –Winston Churchill (The Second World War – Bern, 1960)

As a side note, we need to step back before WW2 and recall Marine Major General Smedley Butler. In 1933, Wall Street bankers and financiers had bankrolled the successful coups by both Hitler and Mussolini. Brown Brothers Harriman in New York was financing Hitler right up to the day war was declared with Germany. And they decided that a fascist dictatorship in the United States based on the one on Italy would be far better for their business interests than Roosevelt’s “New Deal” which threatened massive wealth re-distribution to recapitalize the working and middle class of America. So the Wall Street tycoons recruited General Butler to lead theoverthrow of the US Government and install a “Secretary of General Affairs” who would be answerable to Wall Street and not the people, would crush social unrest and shut down all labor unions. General Butler pretended to go along with the scheme but then exposed the plot to Congress. Congress, then as now in the pocket of the Wall Street bankers, refused to act. When Roosevelt learned of the planned coup he demanded the arrest of the plotters, but the plotters simply reminded Roosevelt that if any one of them were sent to prison, their friends on Wall Street would deliberatly collapse the still-fragile economy and blame Roosevelt for it. Roosevelt was thus unable to act until the start of WW2, at which time he prosecuted many of the plotters under the Trading With The Enemy act. The Congressional minutes into the coup were finally released in 1967 and became the inspiration for the movie, “Seven Days in May” but with the true financial villains erased from the script.

“I spent 33 years and four months in active military service as a member of our country’s most agile military force — the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from second lieutenant to Major General. And during that period I spent more of my time being a high–class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. “I suspected I was just a part of a racket at the time. Now I am sure of it. Like all members of the military profession I never had an original thought until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of the higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service. Thus I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long.

War is a Racket--General Smedley Butler 528 x 366

I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-12. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916.

In China in 1927 I helped see to it that the Standard Oil went its way unmolested. During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket.

I was rewarded with honors, medals and promotion. Looking back on it, I feel I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three city districts. I operated on three continents.” — General Smedley Butler, former US Marine Corps Commandant,1935

As President, John F. Kennedy understood the predatory nature of private central banking. He understood why Andrew Jackson fought so hard to end the Second Bank of the United States. So Kennedy wrote and signed Executive Order 11110 which ordered the US Treasury to issue a new public currency, the United States Note.

End the Federal Reserve. Kennedy's United States Note

John F. Kennedy’s United States Note. At the top, United States Note, not Federal Reserve Note

Kennedy’s United States Notes were not borrowed form the Federal Reserve but created by the US Government and backed by the silver stockpiles held by the US Government. It represented a return to the system of economics the United States had been founded on, and was perfectly legal for Kennedy to do. All told, some four and one half billion dollars went into public circulation, eroding interest payments to the Federal Reserve and loosening their control over the nation. Five months later John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas Texas, and the United States Notes pulled from circulation and destroyed (except for samples held by collectors). John J. McCloy, President of the Chase Manhattan Bank, and President of the World Bank, was named to the Warren Commission, presumably to make certain the banking dimensions behind the assassination were concealed from the public.

As we enter the eleventh year of what future history will most certainly describe as World War Three, we need to examine the financial dimensions behind the wars.

Towards the end of World War Two, when it became obvious that the allies were going to win and dictate the post war environment, the major world economic powers met at Bretton Woods, a luxury resort in New Hampshire in July of 1944, and hammered out the Bretton Woods agreement for international finance. The British Pound lost its position as the global trade and reserve currency to the US dollar (part of the price demanded by Roosevelt in exchange for the US entry into the war). Absent the economic advantages of being the world’s “go-to” currency, Britain was forced to nationalize the Bank of England in 1946. The Bretton Woods agreement, ratified in 1945, in addition to making the dollar the global reserve and trade currency, obligated the signatory nations to tie their currencies to the dollar. The nations that ratified Bretton Woods did so on two conditions. The first was that the Federal Reserve would refrain from over-printing the dollar as a means to loot real products and produce from other nations in exchange for ink and paper; basically an imperial tax. That assurance was backed up by the second requirement, which was that the US dollar would always be convertible to gold at $35 per ounce.

Of course, the Federal Reserve, being a private bank and not answerable to the US Government, did start overprinting paper dollars, and much of the perceived prosperity of the 1950′s and 1960′s was the result of foreign nations’ obligations to accept the paper notes as being worth gold at the rate of $35 an ounce. Then in 1970, France looked at the huge pile of paper notes sitting in their vaults, for which real French products like wine and cheese had been traded, and notified the United States government that they would exercise their option under Bretton Woods to return the paper notes for gold at the $35 per ounce exchange rate. Of course, the United States had nowhere near the gold to redeem the paper notes, so on August 15th, 1971, Richard Nixon “temporarily” suspended the gold convertibility of the US Federal Reserve Notes. This “Nixon shock” effectively ended Bretton Woods and many global currencies started to delink from the US dollar. Worse, since the United States had collateralized their loans with the nation’s gold reserves, it quickly became apparent that the US Government did not in fact have enough gold to cover the outstanding debts. Foreign nations began to get very nervous about their loans to the US and understandably were reluctant to loan any additional money to the United States without some form of collateral. So Richard Nixon started the environmental movement, with the EPA and its various programs such as “wilderness zones”, Roadless areas”, Heritage rivers”, “Wetlands”, all of which took vast areas of public lands and made them off limits to the American people who were technically the owners of those lands. But Nixon had little concern for the environment and the real purpose of this land grab under the guise of the environment was to pledge those pristine lands and their vast mineral resources as collateral on the national debt. The plethora of different programs was simply to conceal the true scale of how much American land was being pledged to foreign lenders as collateral on the government’s debts; eventually almost 25% of the nation itself.

With open lands for collateral already in short supply, the US Government embarked on a new program to shore up sagging international demand for the dollar. The United States approached the world’s oil producing nations, mostly in the Middle East, and offered them a deal. In exchange for only selling their oil for dollars, the United States would guarantee the military safety of those oil-rich nations. The oil rich nations would agree to spend and invest their US paper dollars inside the United States, in particular in US Treasury Bonds, redeemable through future generations of US taxpayers. The concept was labeled the “petrodollar”. In effect, the US, no longer able to back the dollar with gold, was now backing it with oil. Other peoples’ oil. And that necessity to keep control over those oil nations to prop up the dollar has shaped America’s foreign policy in the region ever since.

But as America’s manufacturing and agriculture has declined, the oil producing nations faced a dilemma. Those piles of US Federal Reserve notes were not able to purchase much from the United States because the United States had little (other than real estate) anyone wanted to buy. Europe’s cars and aircraft were superior and less costly, while experiments with GMO food crops led to nations refusing to buy US food exports. Israel’s constant belligerence against its neighbors caused them to wonder if the US could actually keep their end of the petrodollar arrangement. Oil producing nations started to talk of selling their oil for whatever currency the purchasers chose to use. Iraq, already hostile to the United States following Desert Storm, demanded the right to sell their oil for Euros in 2000 and in 2002, the United Nations agreed to allow it under the “Oil for food” program instituted following Desert Storm. One year later the United States re-invaded Iraq, lynched Saddam Hussein, and placed Iraq’s oil back on the world market only for US dollars.

The clear US policy shift following 9-11, away from being an impartial broker of peace in the Mideast to one of unquestioned support for Israel’s aggressions only further eroded confidence in the Petrodollar deal and even more oil producing nations started openly talking of oil trade for other global currencies.

Over in Libya, Muammar Gaddafi had instituted a state-owned central bank and a value based trade currency, the Gold Dinar. Gaddafi announced that Libya’s oil was for sale, but only for the Gold Dinar. Other African nations, seeing the rise of the Gold Dinar and the Euro, even as the US dollar continued its inflation-driven decline, flocked to the new Libyan currency for trade. This move had the potential to seriously undermine the global hegemony of the dollar. French President Nicolas Sarkozy reportedly went so far as to call Libya a “threat” to the financial security of the world. So, the United States invaded Libya, brutally murdered Qaddafi ( the object lesson of Saddam’s lynching not being enough of a message, apparently), imposed a private central bank, and returned Libya’s oil output to dollars only. The gold that was to have been made into the Gold Dinars is, as of last report, unaccounted for.

According to General Wesley Clark, the master plan for the “dollarification” of the world’s oil nations included seven targets, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran (Venezuela, which dared to sell their oil to China for the Yuan, is a late addition). What is notable about the original seven nations originally targeted by the US is that none of them are members of the Bank for International Settlements, the private central bankers private central bank, located in Switzerland. This meant that these nations were deciding for themselves how to run their nations’ economies, rather than submit to the international private banks.

Now the bankers’ gun sights are on Iran, which dares to have a government central bank and sell their oil for whatever currency they choose. The war agenda is, as always, to force Iran’s oil to be sold only for dollars and to force them to accept a privately owned central bank.

International Banking Cabal wants control of Iran. Iran Central Bank building in Tehran

Iran Central Bank building in Tehran

Malaysia, one of the new nations without a Rothschild central bank, is now being invaded by a force claimed to be “Al Qaeda”, and with the death of President Hugo Chavez, plans to impose a US and banker friendly regime on Venezuela are clearly being implemented.

The German government recently asked for the return of some of their gold bullion from the Bank of France and the New York Federal Reserve. France has said it will take 5 years to return Germany’s gold. The United States has said they will need 8 years to return Germany’s gold. This suggests strongly that the Bank of France and the NY Federal Reserve have used the deposited gold for other purposes, most likely to cover gold futures contracts used to artificially suppress the price of gold to keep investors in the equities markets, and the Central Banks are scrambling to find new gold to cover the shortfall and prevent a gold run. So it is inevitable that suddenly France invades Mali, ostensibly to combat Al Qaeda, with the US joining in. Mali just happens to be one of the world’s largest gold producers with gold accounting for 80% of Mali exports. War for the bankers does not get more obvious than that!

Mexico has demanded a physical audit of their gold bullion stored at the Bank of England, and along with Venezuela’s vast oil reserves (larger than Saudi Arabia), Venezuela’s gold mines are a prize lusted after by all the Central Banks that played fast and loose with other peoples’ gold bullion. So we can expect regime change if not outright invasion soon.

You have been raised by a public school system and media that constantly assures you that the reasons for all these wars and assassinations are many and varied. The US claims to bring democracy to the conquered lands (they haven’t; the usual result of a US overthrow is the imposition of a dictatorship, such as the 1953 CIA overthrow of Iran’s democratically elected government of Mohammad Mosaddegh and the imposition of the Shah, or the 1973 CIA overthrow of Chile’s democratically elected government of President Salvador Allende, and the imposition of Augusto Pinochet), or to save a people from a cruel oppressor, revenge for 9-11, or that tired worn-out catch all excuse for invasion, weapons of mass destruction. Assassinations are always passed off as “crazed lone nuts” to obscure the real agenda.

The real agenda is simple. It is enslavement of the people by creation of a false sense of obligation. That obligation is false because the Private Central Banking system, by design, always creates more debt than money with which to pay that debt. Private Central Banking is not science, it is a religion; a set of arbitrary rules created to benefit the priesthood, meaning the owners of the Private Central Bank. The fraud persists, with often lethal results, because the people are tricked into believing that this is the way life is suppoed to be and no alternative exists or should be dreamt of. The same was true of two earlier systems of enslavement, Rule by Divine Right and Slavery, both systems built to trick people into obedience, and both now recognized by modern civilizatyion as illegitimate. Now we are entering a time in human history where we will recognize that rule by debt, or rule by Private Central Bankers issuing the public currency as a loan at interest, is equally illegitimate. It only works as long as people allow themselves to believe that this is the way life is supposed to be.

But understand this above all; Private Central Banks do not exist to serve the people, the community, or the nation. Private Central Banks exist to serve their owners, to make them rich beyond the dreams of Midas and all for the cost of ink, paper, and the right bribe to the right official.

Behind all these wars, all these assassinations, the hundred million horrible deaths from all the wars lies a single policy of dictatorship. The private central bankers allow rulers to rule only on the condition that the people of a nation be enslaved to the private central banks. Failing that, said ruler will be killed, and their nation invaded by those other nations enslaved to private central banks.

The so-called “clash of civilizations” we read about on the corporate media is really a war between banking systems, with the private central bankers forcing themselves onto the rest of the world, no matter how many millions must die for it. Indeed the constant hatemongering against Muslims lies in a simple fact. Like the ancient Christians (prior to the Knights Templars private banking system) , Muslims forbid usury, or the lending of money at interest. And that is the reason our government and media insist they must be killed or converted. They refuse to submit to currencies issued at interest. They refuse to be debt slaves.

So off to war your children must go, to spill their blood for the money-junkies’ gold. We barely survived the last two world wars. In the nuclear/bioweapon age, are the private central bankers willing to risk incinerating the whole planet just to feed their greed?

Apparently so.

This brings us to the current situation in the Ukraine.

The European Union had been courting the government of the Ukraine to merge with the EU, and more to the point, entangle their economy with the private-owned European Central Bank. The government of the Ukraine was considering the move, but had made no commitments. Part of their concern lay with the conditions in other EU nations enslaved to the ECB, notably Cyprus, Greece, Spain, and Italy. So they were properly cautious. Then Russia stepped in with a better deal and the Ukraine, exercising the basic choice all consumers have to choose the best product at the best price, dropped the EU and announced they were going to go with Russia’s offer. It was at that point that agents provocateurs flooded into the Ukraine, covertly funded by intelligence agency fronts like CANVAS and USAID, stirring up trouble, while the western media proclaimed this was a popular revolution. Snipers shot at people and this violence was blamed on then-President Yanukovich. However a leaked recording of a phone call between the EU’s Catherine Ashton and Estonia’s Foreign Minister Urmas Paet confirmed the snipers were working for the overthrow plotters, not the Ukrainian government. Urmas Paet has confirmed the authenticity of that phone call.

This is a classic pattern of covert overthrow we have seen many times before. Since the end of WW2, the US has covertly tried to overthrow the governments of 56 nations, succeeding 25 times. Examples include the 1953 overthrow of Iran’s elected government of Mohammed Mossadegh and the imposition of the Shah, the 1973 overthrow of Chile’s elected government of Salvador Allende and the imposition of the Pinochet dictatorship, and of course, the current overthrow of Ukraine’s elected government of Yanukovich and the imposition of the current unelected government, which is already gutting the Ukraine’s wealth to hand to the western bankers.

Flag waving and propaganda aside, all modern wars are wars by and for the private bankers, fought and bled for by third parties unaware of the true reason they are expected to gracefully be killed and croppled for. The process is quite simple. As soon as the Private Central Bank issues its currency as a loan at interest, the public is forced deeper and deeper into debt. When the people are reluctant to borrow any more, that is when the Keynesian economists demand the government borrow more to keep the pyramid scheme working. When both the people and government refuse to borrow any more, that is when wars are started, to plunge everyone even deeper into debt to pay for the war, then after the war to borrow more to rebuild. When the war is over, the people have about the same as they did before the war, except the graveyards are far larger and everyone is in debt to the private bankers for the next century. This is why Brown Brothers Harriman in New York was funding the rise of Adolf Hitler.

As long as Private Central Banks are allowed to exist, inevitably as the night follows day there will be poverty, hopelessness, and millions of deaths in endless World Wars, until the Earth itself is sacrificed in flames to Mammon.

The path to true peace on Earth lies in the abolishment of all private central banking everywhere, and a return to the state-issued value-based currencies that allow nations and people to become prosperous.

How Crimea plays in Beijing

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Baodong

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Baodong

This, via Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Baodong, is Beijing’s quite measured, official interpretation of what’s happening in Ukraine, tailored for global consumption:

“We are paying very close attention to the situation in Ukraine. We hope all parties can calmly maintain restraint to prevent the situation from further escalating and worsening. Political resolution and dialogue is the only way out.”

by Pepe Escobar

Asia Times

But here, in a People’s Daily editorial, is what the leadership is really thinking. And the focus is clearly on the dangers of regime change, the “West’s inability to understand the lessons of history”, and “the final battlefield of the Cold War.”

Yet again the West misinterpreted China’s abstention from the UN Security Council vote on a US-backed resolution condemning the Crimea referendum. The spin was that Russia – which vetoed the resolution – was “isolated”. It’s not. And the way Beijing plays geopolitics shows it’s not.

Oh, Samantha …

Ms. Power, it has been claimed by two Hill staffers who monitor AIPAC, owes her position as UN Ambassador to Israeli PM Netanyahu, who views her and her husband, AIPAC fund raiser, Cass Sunstein, as Israel-first stalwarts.

Ms. Power, it has been claimed by two Hill staffers who monitor AIPAC, owes her position as UN Ambassador to Israeli PM Netanyahu, who views her and her husband, AIPAC fund raiser, Cass Sunstein, as Israel-first stalwarts.

The herd of elephants in the (Ukraine) room, in terms of global opinion, is how the authentic “international community” – from the G-20 to the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) – who has had enough of the Exceptionalist Hypocrisy Show, has fully understood, and even applauded, that at least one country on the planet has the balls to clearly say “F**k the US”.

Russia under President Vladimir Putin may harbor quite a few distortions, just like any other nation. But this is not a dinner party; this is realpolitik. To face down the US Leviathan, nothing short of a bad ass such as Putin will suffice.

NATO – or shorthand for the Pentagon dominating European wimps – keeps issuing threats and spewing out “consequences”. What are they going to do – launch a barrage of ICBMs equipped with nuclear warheads against Moscow?

Furthermore, the UN Security Council itself is a joke, with US ambassador Samantha “Nothing Compares to You” Power – one of the mothers of R2P (“responsibility to protect”) – carping on “Russian aggression”, “Russian provocations” and comparing the Crimean referendum to a theft. Oh yes; bombing Iraq, bombing Libya and getting to the brink of bombing Syria were just innocent humanitarian gestures. Samantha The Humanitarian arguably gives a better performance invoking Sinead O’Connor in her shower.

Russian ambassador Vitaly Churkin was polite enough to say, “these insults addressed to our country” are “unacceptable”. It’s what he added that carried the real juice; “If the delegation of the United States of America expects our cooperation in the Security Council on other issues, then Power must understand this quite clearly.”

Samantha The Humanitarian, as well as the whole bunch of juvenile bystanders in the Obama administration, won’t understand it. Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov gave them a little help; Russia didn’t want to use the Iranian nuclear talks to “raise the stakes”, but if the US and the EU continue with their sanctions and threats, that’s what’s going to happen.

So the plot thickens – as in a closer and closer strategic partnership between Tehran and Moscow.

Victoria Nuland and Jeffrey Pyatt handing out candy to security forces in Kiev a month before the neo-Nazis the US government funded would attack and kill many of those same forces.

Now imagine all this as seen from Beijing. No one knows what exactly goes on in the corridors of the Zhongnanhai, but it’s fair to argue there’s only an apparent contradiction between China’s key principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states, and Russia’s intervention in Crimea.

Beijing has identified very clearly the sequence of affairs; long-running Western interference in Ukraine via NGOs and the State Department; regime change perpetrated with the help of fascists and neo-nazis; a pre-emptive Russian counterattack which can be read as a by-the-book Samantha The Humanitarian R2P operation (protecting Russians and Russian speakers from a second coup planned in Crimea, and thwarted by Russian intelligence.)

On top of it Beijing well knows how Crimea has been essentially Russian since 1783; how Crimea – as well as a great deal of Ukraine – fall smack into Russian civilization’s sphere of influence; and how Western interference directly threatened Russia’s national security interests (as Putin made it clear.) Now imagine a similar scenario in Tibet or Xinjiang. Long-running Western interference via NGOs and the CIA; a take over by Tibetans in Lhasa or Uighurs in Kashgar of the local administration. Beijing could easily use Samantha’s R2P in the name of protecting Han Chinese.

Yet Beijing (silently) agreeing to the Russian response to the coup in Kiev by getting Crimea back via a referendum and without a shot fired does not mean that “splittists” Tibet or Taiwan would be allowed to engage in the same route. Even as Tibet, more than Taiwan, would be able to build a strong historical case for seceding. Each case bears its own myriad complexities.

The Obama administration – like a blind Minotaur – is now lost in a labyrinth of pivots of its own making. A new Borges – that Buddha in a gray suit – is needed to tell the tale. First there was the pivoting to Asia-Pac – which is encircling of China under another name – as it’s well understood in Beijing.

Then came the pivoting to Persia – “if we are not going to war”, as that Cypher in Search of an Idea, John Kerry, put it. There was, of course, the martial pivoting to Syria, aborted at the last minute thanks to the good offices of Moscow diplomacy. And back to the pivoting to Russia, trampling the much-lauded “reset” and conceived as a payback for Syria.

Those who believe Beijing strategists have not carefully analyzed – and calculated a response – to all the implications of these overlapping pivots do deserve to join Samantha in the shower. Additionally, it’s easy to picture Chinese Think Tankland hardly repressing its glee in analyzing a hyperpower endlessly, helplessly pivoting over itself.

While the Western dogs bark …

Strategic partners - Russia's Putin and China's Hu Jintao - are leaving the U.S. behind

Strategic partners – Russia’s Putin and China’s Hu Jintao – are leaving the U.S. behind

Russia and China are strategic partners – at the G-20, at the BRICS club of emerging powers and at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Their number one objective, in these and other forums, is the emergence of a multipolar world; no bullying by the American Empire of Bases, a more balanced international financial system, no more petrodollar eminence, a basket of currencies, essentially a “win-win” approach to global economic development.

A multipolar world also implies, by definition, NATO out of Eurasia – which is from Washington’s point of view the number one reason to interfere in Ukraine. In Eurasian terms, it’s as if – being booted out of Afghanistan by a bunch of peasants with Kalashnikovs – NATO was pivoting back via Ukraine.

While Russia and China are key strategic partners in the energy sphere – Pipelineistan and beyond – they do overlap in their race to do deals across Central Asia. Beijing is building not only one but two New Silk Roads – across Southeast Asia and across Central Asia, involving pipelines, railways and fiber optic networks, and reaching as far as Istanbul, the getaway to Europe. Yet as far as Russia-China competition for markets go, all across Eurasia, it’s more under a “win-win” umbrella than a zero-sum game.

On Ukraine (“the last battlefield in the Cold War”) and specifically Crimea, the (unspoken) official position by Beijing is absolute neutrality (re: the UN vote). Yet the real deal is support to Moscow. But this could never be out in the open, because Beijing is not interested in antagonizing the West, unless heavily provoked (the pivoting becoming hardcore encirclement, for instance). Never forget; since Deng Xiaoping (“keep a low profile”) this is, and will continue to be, about China’s “peaceful rise”. Meanwhile, the Western dogs bark, and the Sino-

Unfreedom Tower parachute jump for 9/11 truth – amazing video!

By Kevin BarrettVeterans Today Editor

In an apparent protest against the Orwellian police state unleashed by the 9/11 inside job, four patriotic paratroopers decided to “chute Larry Silverstein” – by jumping off the top of the Unfreedom Tower.

YouTube – Veterans Today –

The amazing “freedom jump” occurred last September 30th. Despite the NSA’s all-seeing Illuminati Eye of Sauron that winked open on 9/11/2001, the four liberty-loving protesters managed to gain access to the Unfreedom Tower’s roof, strap on their chutes, leap off the building, glide safely to earth, and evade arrest for six months. When the NSA, CIA, DHS, FBI, NYPD, IRS and FCC finally caught up with them and dragged them into court late last night, the “leaping liberty lovers” were charged with felony third-degree burglary, reckless endangerment and jumping from a structure.

The time it took the parachutists to float to earth – about two minutes – was roughly the time it would have taken the Towers to undergo a sagging, twisting, metal-distorting sideways-toppling partial collapse, which is the only kind of collapse possible from natural causes. Only by removing all vertical supports on each floor simultaneously in a precisely-timed sequence can a steel-framed skyscraper be made to implode symmetrically; if the timing is off by a fraction of a second, the building will topple sideways following the path of least resistance.

The symmetrical, straight-down explosive destruction of the Twin Towers in about ten seconds each – and the 6.5 second symmetrical implosion of World Trade Center 7 later that afternoon – were obvious controlled demolitions.

The Unfreedom Tower freedom jump is the second apparent 9/11 protest by Daredevil Aerialists For Truth (DAFT). In an earlier incident, the lovely Seanna Sharpe protested the cover-up of the arrest of Israeli terrorists trying to blow up New York’s bridges and tunnels on 9/11 by doing an aerial “dance of the seven veils” on the Williamsburg Bridge.

NEO – Iraq, Kurdistan and Oil Dialogue

DNO's Tawke Oil Field in Iraqi Kurdistan

Iraq, Kurdistan and Oil Dialogue

…by  Konstantin Orlov,   … with  New Eastern Outlook, Moscow

Golden dome of St. Petersburg

Golden domes of St. Petersburg

[ Editor’s note:  Countries that in large part fund their governments from oil production are usually found to be fighting like cats and dogs over how the revenue will be split up. In volatile places with guns galore, losers do not take their fate peacefully.

Libya is seeing an 80% drop in its oil revenue held hostage by those in Benghazi who want their region’s oil all for themselves. In Iraq, the battle between the Kurds and Baghdad have boiled over on a number of occasions.

War, oil monopolies, terrorism, price rigging of future markets, pipeline bombings… make it a rough and tumble business.

Konstantin Orlov gives us a peek behind the curtain into the struggle for division of the black gold, a rough and tumble story, indeed… Jim W. Dean ].

Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki assailed the country’s parliament with a harsh criticism, accusing it of delaying important laws, and threatening the “politicians and statesmen” with the Federal Court.

He also announced the decision of the Council of Ministers to adopt the budget for the current fiscal year, regardless of its approval by the Parliament.

Among other things, the difficulties with the new fiscal budget are due to disagreements of the central government with Iraqi Kurdistan.

First of all, this concerns the quotas for the distribution of the big money the country receives from production of the “black gold”. As it is known, the Iraqi constitution provides that 17% of the federal budget will go to the Kurds, which must be paid within a year. Nevertheless, Baghdad often uses the budget as an effective trump card in disputes with the Kurds.

The fact is that all this time the Kurdistan Regional Government has firmly maintained its intentions to start major oil exports to Turkey, referring to the country’s constitution. Baghdad insists that oil export revenues should come through its state oil marketing organization, the SOMO, but the Kurds want to see it only as an observer.

Baghdad is trying to reduce its dependence on oil export in the Kurdish direction, to some extent, and is desperately looking for other directions. Iraqi media reported that the government had recently approved the construction of an oil pipeline running from Basra to Aqaba, stressing that Iraq was carefully examining all possibilities for expanding its cooperation with Jordan.

Expensive pipelines like political stability

Expensive pipelines like political stability

The work on designing the pipeline, worth about $18 billion, was launched in Iraq nearly a year ago. In the first stage, it is planned to export one million barrels of oil per day through the 1,680-kilometer pipeline running from Basra to the port of Aqaba in Jordan.

We should recall that about 2.3 million barrels per day are produced just in the Basra area, which is 70% of the total oil production in the country.

On the other hand, until recently, Iraqi Kurdistan has supplied only oil, but now, large-scale preparatory work for the production and export of gas is being carried out there. Currently, gas reserves of Kurdistan are estimated at 2.83 trillion cubic metres, which is about 90% of all Iraqi reserves.

According to the economists, due to the growth in gas production and exports from Iraqi Kurdistan, we should expect a significant replenishment of the world natural gas market. First – because of the extensive fuel reserves, second – because of the proximity to major markets, third – due to the extremely low cost.

As an effective tool of exerting pressure on the Kurds, this time Iraqi Prime Minister ordered the withholding of the enclave’s “oil share” in the national budget. In turn, the President of Kurdistan Massoud Barzani called this an equivalent to a “declaration of war”.

In response to the freezing of the budget, the Kurdish government is considering possible response measures such as blocking of the two major rivers carrying water to the vast agricultural lands in central and southern Iraq. Some Kurdish officials in Kirkuk also called for a suspension of the exports of Kirkuk oil, which is sold by the Iraqi government.

Baghdad claims that the payment of the budget was suspended due to the Kurds’ failure to perform their obligation to export 400,000 barrels of oil per day, which allegedly led to a budget deficit. This assertion was denied by Erbil. According to BasNews, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has denied reports about exporting oil to Turkey, stressing that until now, Kurdish oil has not been sold.

Safin Dizayi, the KRG representative, said that reports of smuggling of Kurdish oil to Turkey are false. “A number of media have published reports accusing Kurdistan of oil smuggling to Turkey. We started an investigation of this matter and have concluded that they were unfounded”. He also states that the KRG remains committed to transparency and being accountable to Baghdad for sales of its oil to world markets. “That is why we reject these reports,” added Mr. Dizayi.

In his speech at the forum called the “Navigation of Challenges in the Middle East”, Massoud Barzani expressed his serious concern about the violation of the constitutional rights of Kurdistan. Speaking about the persistence of Shiites in their attempts to retain their power in Baghdad, Barzani said:

“The idea of the central government has lost its validity for us.” Without naming Mr. al-Maliki, the Kurdish President said that the decision to deprive the Kurds of their part of the budget was the decision of one person. “We are concerned that Baghdad uses the livelihood of Kurdistan as a trump card, and which is the decision of one person. Now the thing we feared the most, has actually happened.”

"Oil, oil everywhere"

“Oil, oil everywhere”

Many political analysts have expressed quite a reasonable opinion that Erbil and Baghdad should try to resolve their differences peacefully, through negotiations. “The differences cannot be resolved overnight,” wrote the Iraqi newspaper Al-Rafidain. “However, if each side is going to stand its ground firmly, we will never reach a solution.”

Apparently, the recently improved relations with Turkey give additional power to the Kurds in their dispute with Baghdad.

The parties stressed at the meeting of the President of Kurdistan Massoud Barzani and the Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, held in Erbil on March 5 – that “they are very happy with the state of relations between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region, and are ready to further strengthen their political, economic and cultural ties.”

It should be noted that it is no mere coincidence that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey was among the senior politicians who gathered at the forum “Navigation of Challenges in the Middle East”.

He praised the efforts of his government to make peace with the Kurds in Turkey, saying that the Kurds and Turks were full citizens in his country, and that the ruling “Justice and Development Party” (JDP) helped to open Kurdish television and radio broadcasting, despite strong criticism from other Turkish parties. Last year Ankara and the Kurdistan Workers Party (KWP) began their peace process, the progress of which was estimated as being too slow by the Kurds.

Davutoglu said economic and trade relations were an important tool for building strong relations between the peoples of the region, and that Ankara was committed to maintaining good neighbourly relations with both Iraq and Kurdistan.

If the Kurds managed to normalize their relations with Turkey to some extent, then it is likely that the difficult oil issue will be settled with Baghdad, sooner or later. While publishing an article on the temporary stalemate in budget distribution, the newspaper Al-Rafidain stated: “Iraq has a large budget and everyone, including Kurdistan, should benefit from it.”

Defense Authorization Act Has Destroyed America’s Bill of Rights

By Sherwood Ross

The United States has become a totalitarian nation since the enactment of the National Defense Authorization Act(NDAA) by Congress and signed by President Obama.

This bill is the last mile post on America’s sad, well-traveled road to the butcher shop of dictatorship. We have been headed that way for some time and, with a little help from Congress, we’ve put an ugly end to the wonderful American experiment in democracy. The Senate passed the bill by a vote of 93-7.

In the name of “defense,” NDAA underwrote $662-billion for continued U.S. aggression in our many foreign wars while, on the domestic front, it incinerated the last surviving shreds of the Bill of Rights. According to the American Civil Liberties Union(ACLU), it authorizes presidents “to order the military to pick up and imprison people, including U.S. citizens, without charging them or putting them on trial.” (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) So much for Amendment VI to our Constitution that “the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial.”

Just destroying your protection against arbitrary arrest and imprisonment means the bill’s authors Senators Carl Levin of Michigan and John McCain of Arizona don’t have to bother with junking anything else. Once you’re imprisoned you won’t need any other “stinkin’ rights.”

The ACLU charges the provisions of NDAA “were negotiated by a small group of members of Congress, in secret, and without proper congressional review (and), are inconsistent with fundamental American values embodied in the Constitution….(our) fundamental freedoms are on the line.”

A few years back, President Carter denounced the Patriot Act for authorizing federal agents “to search people’s homes and businesses secretly, to confiscate property without any deadline or without giving notice that the intrusion had taken place, and to collect without notice personal information on American citizens including their medical histories, books checked out of libraries, and goods they purchase.” The NDAA is far worse than that.

According to Noam Chomsky, the arbitrary arrest philosophy in this country dates back to the Bush regime. “The current (Bush) government,” he wrote in “Imperial Ambitions”(Metropolitan Books,) “has claimed rights that go beyond any precedents, including even the right to arrest citizens, hold them in detention without access to their family or lawyers, and do so indefinitely, without charges.”

“What the American People are witnessing now with this new legislation is the further development of an American Police State into a Military Dictatorship, a process that was started by the so-called USA Patriot Act in 2001,” says Professor Francis Boyle, the constitutional law authority at the University of Illinois, Champaign.

“If it is enacted into law, America will lose all pretense of having our Military subjected to the control of democratically elected civilian leaders as originally envisioned and required by the Constitution. Our experiment in 1776 will have failed,” adds Boyle, author of “Tackling America’s Toughest Questions”(Clarity Press.)

President Obama is already exercising his kingly right to rain Hellfire missiles from drone assault planes down on any human being anywhere on the planet without a legal authorization. This is called assassination as it is utterly devoid of any semblance of rudimentary justice. Unfortunately, the president appears to have no qualms about his actions. Will such a man hesitate to arrest Americans on suspicion and imprison them for years, or worse, without trial?

Adds the prescient Paul Craig Roberts, former Assistant Treasury Secretary under President Reagan, “The (Obama) regime’s objection to (the) military detention (provision in NDAA) is not rooted in concern for the constitutional rights of American citizens. The regime objects to military detention because the implication of military detention is that detainees are prisoners of war…(and) detainees treated according to the laws of war have the protections of the Geneva Conventions. They cannot be tortured. The Obama regime opposes military detention, because detainees would have some rights. These rights would interfere with the regime’s ability to send detainees to CIA torture prisons overseas.” Even so, Obama signed the bill into law.

Perhaps this is a good time to remind swindled American taxpayers that totalitarianism is what comes of funding a perpetual warfare state that spies on all global communications, builds the greatest military in human history, assassinates foreign leaders, overthrows elected governments, invades small nations based on lies to seize their natural resources, and threatens the world from its 800 overseas military bases.

The NDAA perpetuates all this and now endows the criminal leadership in Congress and the White House with the legal tools to turn upon their own.

The only senators with guts to oppose the bill were Democrats Tom Harkin of Iowa; Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley of Oregon; Republicans Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, Mike Lee of Utah, Rand Paul of Kentucky; and Independent Bernie Sanders of Vermont. As Sen. Paul asked during the debate, “Under the provisions, wouldn’t it be possible, then, that an American citizen could be declared an enemy combatant and sent to Guantanamo Bay and detained indefinitely?”

The light in the torch of the Statue of Liberty has already been snuffed out by our illegal foreign wars. The final disgrace will be to imprison the beautiful lady behind the barbed wire of the NDAA.

Armenia – Rebels Robbing Homes, Desecrating Churches in Kessab, Syria

Activist: Rebels Robbing Homes, Desecrating Churches in Kessab

[ Editors note: Once again the Armenians, after retreating to what appeared to be a place of safety… trouble follows them there. They continue to be a cursed people despite their minding their own business and keeping a low profile.

A major part of this Syrian Takfiri scourge has been the key role that robbing, looting and raping has played. Once an area has been ‘worked over’ and cleaned out, the scumbags have to find somewhere else to steal more stuff, to keep their bonuses flowing and to have some ‘running money’ for it that becomes necessary… Jim W. Dean ]

Several Armenians unable to leave town

LATAKIA, Syria (A.W.)—Around 400 families from Kessab have taken refuge in Latakia following attacks on their town, while the fate of several individuals who have stayed behind remains unclear, the Armenian Weekly has learned.

Rebels in Kessab

“Many Armenian families are staying with relatives and friends, while others have sought refuge in the Armenian Church and the church’s hall,” said Syrian Armenian community activist Nerses Sarkissian during a phone interview with Weekly editor Khatchig Mouradian. “The Aleppo Armenian Prelacy as well as the Red Crescent are providing relief and assistance to these families in Latakia,” Sarkissian added.

Rebels engage in robbery and desecration

Rebels who have entered Kessab are desecrating churches, pillaging houses, and destroying government buildings, Sarkissian told the Weekly. A few Syrian Armenians have been unable to leave Kessab, and their fate is unclear, he added.

Sarkissian underlined that the rebels came from the Turkish side of the border and are receiving support from the Turkish military. He noted that the injured among them are being transported back to Turkey to receive medical attention.

Assad ‘reassures’ Aram Catholicos

Syria’s ambassador to Lebanon visited Catholicos Aram I in Antelias on March 22, conveying to him Syrian president Bashar al-Assad’s assurances that peace will be restored in Kessab.

A delegation of priests left Antelias for Latakia on March 23 to assess needs and express the Catholicosate’s solidarity with the displaced population of Kessab.

Turkey downs Syrian fighter jet

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed reports that the Turkish military had shot down Syrian fighter jet. The fighter jet crashed in Kessab. According to Ankara, it came under fire after crossing the Turkish border.

Meanwhile, clashes continued. “According to a military source, units of the armed forces have since morning been directing fatal strikes to the terrorist groups which infiltrated the border from Turkey in Kassab area, inflicting heavy losses upon them,” reported the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on March 23.

Perched in the northwestern corner of Syria, near the border with Turkey, Kessab had, until very recently, evaded major battles between the army and rebels. Many Syrians had taken refuge there because of the relative calm in the area over the past three years.
