Gaza: Press Release

NOVANEWS

The large-scale Austrian-German Gaza Relief Action is happy to announce that four injured persons from Gaza accompanied by three caretakers arrived in Berlin on Saturday, March 21, 2015.

The patients are two children as well as a 15 year old girl and a boy of 18. The 15 year old girl suffered heavy injuries on her arms, the 18 year old boy was injured by shell splinters on his shoulder, hand and leg, and additionally suffers from an Injury of his eye. A four year old boy needs treatment of the severe injury on his thigh, another boy (6 years old) suffers from shell splinter injuries in his pelvis and chest after surviving a shell attack which killed his two siblings.

Two hospitals in Berlin are going to treat the four patients.

In an unparalleled joint coordination effort, organized mainly through social networks, helpful people received our guests at the airport in Berlin and accommodated them in their homes until Monday. Caretaking, interpreting, and transportation services, and many other necessities are provided by private persons and the participating organizations for the whole stay of our guests.

We, the participating organizations of the large-scale Austrian-German Gaza Relief Action wholeheartedly wish to say thank you to all Clinics, supporters, sponsors, and helpers who made this work possible. It makes us happy to see that together we can make a change.

In particular, we would like to thank Palästinensische Mission Berlin (Palestinian Embassy in Berlin) for their great cooperation.

We hope this joint action will give the children and their caretakers the chance to physically and mentally recover so that they can build up a perspective for a positive future.

If you are willing and able to do so, please continue donating (bank account see below). We also still need more hospital places for the  many patients in Gaza waiting for our help. (Contacts see below).

You are always welcome to ask for a donation receipt. For this purpose we need the donors home address.

THANKS to all of you
