Zionist BBC journalist deletes tweet about UK’s ‘corrupt’ relationship with I$raHell

A prominent Zionist BBC journalist has deleted a tweet in which a senior Conservative MP can be seen complaining about the British media turning a blind eye to the corrupt relationship that has allowed the Nazi regime to “buy access” in Westminster.

The tweet was posted by the BBC’s Political Editor Laura Kuenssberg on Wednesday while the Scottish journalist was covering the build up to the resignation of Zionist puppet Priti Patel. The Secretary of State for International Development had taken part in undisclosed meetings in the Nazi state organised by the powerful Conservative Friends of Nazi lobby (CFN) last summer.

Kuenssberg’s Twitter posts on the day was full of posts on the Zionist puppet Patel story including comments about Number 10 denying the allegation made by the Jewish Chronicle that Prime Minster Theresa May had been made aware of the 12 meetings Zionist Patel had had during her “family holiday” in the Nazi state.

In her deleted tweet, which MEMO has been able to grab as a screenshot, Kuenssberg reported a comment made by a “senior” Tory MP who, enraged by the debacle, called for Lord Polak, honorary president of CFI and the person thought to be behind Zionist Patel’s Nazi trip, to be sacked.

“Strong words,” tweeted Kuenssberg, “Senior Tory says Lord Polak should be chucked out of the party, claiming ‘the entire apparatus has turned a blind eye to a corrupt relationship that allows a country to buy access’.”

MEMO contacted Kuenssberg to ask why she had deleted the tweet but has not received a reply from the journalist.

The BBC has often been accused of pro-Zionist bias and it would appear that this was yet another example of the broadcaster censoring criticism of the Nazi state or senior BBC journalists enforcing self-censorship when it comes to Nazi regime.

While it’s not absolutely clear what the senior Tory meant by the “entire apparatus”, it would appear that the concerns raised by the Conservative politician echo similar complaints made by the Nazi regime critics over the influence of CFI and other pro-Zionist lobby groups on the entire British establishment including the media.

Kuenssberg’s decision to delete the tweet it seems is further proof that the “entire apparatus” is reluctant to shed light on the “corrupt relationship” between the UK and the Nazi regime, which critics say is the reason why the BBC and other media corporations have turned a blind eye, and allowed Israel through the CFI and organisations like the Labour Friends of ‘Israel’ to “buy access”.

U.S., I$raHell, Palestine and the Santa Claus Effect (Part 1 of 2)

NOVANEWS

U.S., Israel, Palestine and the Santa Claus Effect (Part 1 of 2)

The Santa Claus Effect Deception series

I grew up in a Christian home. My father was a nuclear physicist and aerospace engineer and mother was a stay at home housewife. When I was little, much as I suspect is the case for most Christian children, I was told about Christmas and Santa Claus. We were told that Jesus was born in Bethlehem but never that this was located in Palestine.

From the moment I was old enough to grasp the story about a Christmas and Santa Claus, a jovial man, dressed in red with a white beard, who flew around the world on Christmas Eve (in 24 hours) in a magical sled pulled by flying reindeer, landing on the rooftop of every home on the planet to then slide down the chimney to leave presents for every child who had been nice, I was hooked. I never ever considered the impossibility of the story I was told this by my parents, and I guess, on some level, I didn’t want to question it. I was hooked on all of the excitement leading up to and to be revealed on Christmas Day. Each year I swore to myself that I would always ask for fun toys. Clothes and such were just a bummer and a waste of wrapping paper.

Year after year, when Christmas came around, my parents would ask me and my sisters what we wanted, and in large part, mostly these gift ideas would magically show up wrapped and under the Christmas tree. Oh, let me not forget that it was a tradition that Mom and Dad would always be sure to put out cookies and milk for Santa Claus and carrots as treats for the reindeer.

On Christmas Eve, if we were lucky, each of us would get to open one small present. Afterwards my sisters and I would attempt to go to sleep. Mostly, I would toss and turn all night in excitement of the morning of gift opening. Wake at the crack of dawn as I did, on Christmas morning, I had a tradition of waking my sisters and then our parents. Everyone took such joy in the whole process.

We would all go to the living room where the Christmas tree was situated, adorned with ornaments and beautifully glowing lights. Mom and Dad always made sure to make each of us aware, that the milk had been drunk and that the cookies and the carrots had been eaten. This was definitive proof that Santa Claus had surely come to our house and personally delivered the gifts.

One year, as it got closer to Christmas Day, I noticed that Mom and Dad were secretly bringing large bags into their bedroom. Curiously, I caught a glimpse of one of my parents wrapping a gift for me that ended up under the Christmas tree, a present that as I would later discover, was marked From: Santa Claus.

My radar was up and I was getting suspicious about this Santa Claus fellow. A year passed and at around 8 years old I was probing a friend, who was a couple of years older, about this Santa Claus guy and Christmas. In an oh-by-the-way manner he convincingly stated that there was in fact no Santa Claus and that they whole thing was … sort of a nice lie.

On hearing this and in the moment, my heart just sank. I wanted to cry. I felt so deeply betrayed by the mythology of this story I had been told by parents, my God/creator figures/truth tellers. How could they lie to me? I was instinctively trained to trust them. I felt violated and ashamed that I had not been smart enough to see through everything, connect the dots and know that I had been lied to.

So again, upon having what I now call, and have termed, my first “Santa Claus Moment,” I put on my game face and tried, as cool as I could, to shrug off the reality that I had been lied to by my parents and manned up my best response to this older friend by saying, “Ya, I knew that.”

I would not understand until I became an adult how profoundly this Santa Claus Moment would affect me. I would not have the capacity to comprehend, how this phenomena could be used towards me and the world population as a whole, to pervert the innocence of trust into a manufactured naiveté that could be exploited. I would not understand the intentionality of how this “Santa Claus Effect” could be harnessed by the elite, the powerful and the media to manipulate group thoughts and actions.

“We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of… If we understand the mechanism and motives of the group mind, it is now possible to control and regiment the masses according to our will without them knowing it.” — Dr. Edward L. Bernays, considered the founding Father of Public Relations. (1891-1995)

Flashing back to my early years and influences, my Father, a brilliant and good man, level-headed, I thought, was a bit of a Super-hawk as I now see it in retrospect. His first major job out of college was designing missile guidance systems for fighter jets. In his time off, and when we lived in California, he would work on Barry Goldwater’s presidential campaign. We would later move from California to Texas where he would work on the space program and play a major role in putting our first man on the moon.

In his role as Creator/God figure/Truth Teller, I took what my father told me as gospel and truth. His worldview on life shaped my worldview. My love and respect for my father and his goodness as a human being made it easy for me to trust in what he told me. I never saw my Dad smoke a cigarette and only occasionally saw him drink a beer. As my authority figure he taught me right from wrong, how to be honest and a good person, and how to recognize and protect myself from bullies at school. There was an unspoken philosophy that “only the strong survived”, “work hard and prosper” and that in the world of global politics ‘the winner spoke softly and carried a big stick.”

I grew into adulthood and under certain Republican and hawkish narratives. As such, it was clear that my father’s worldview of America was one that painted us as the good guys wearing the white hats, global cops for justice, who faced a world of mostly irrational and crazy thinking people who hated our freedom and wanted to destroy it and us at any cost.

Admittedly, I found a certain comfort in this narrative that was coincidently drum-beat by almost every TV show, Film, News Program and print media article. Music prophets of the time fortunately sang a different tune. I found a comfort in knowing that our military was the best in the world and could, if necessary, defeat anyone. Admittedly, I was naïve at the time and only considered that our US media, in a Walter Cronkite manner, would only tell the truth, for bad or for good. I never considered that our white hat wearing media would ever bias the news or distort the facts for propaganda purposes. Our American narrative stated that only evil nations would do such things. Wow, was I in for a big surprise once I started to wake up and study this whole media phenomena.

“The conscious and intellectual manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country.” — Dr. Edward L. Bernays, considered the founding Father of Public Relations.

You see, growing up during the Cold War as I did, the media narrative and group talk about Russia and their people went something like this. The Russians are Communists, amoral people, don’t believe in God, don’t value human life the way we do, their military and nuclear weapons are poised to preemptively destroy America because they hate our freedom, capitalism and everything we stand for. This was the ever-present drumbeat of the American media machine. This propaganda narrative, as I now know, was designed to keep Americans in fear and never to question the billions upon billions of hard earned taxpayers dollars going into our Nation’s military buildup and ever growing arsenal of nuclear weapons. We had to be superior in order to win if a war was to ever occur with Russia. And, according to the media, this was just around the corner and was just a matter of time. Are you beginning to hear a familiar drum beat?

“If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.” – James Madison (1751 -1836)

Then one day, a remarkable thing happened. President Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev agreed to a peace accord and to bring down the Berlin Wall, the great symbol of separate ideologies and beliefs. The world watched on TV as people on both sides of the wall literally sledgehammered toward one another to meet, create an opening for freedom and unite in brotherly and sisterly love. The impossible had happened. People of the free and non-communistic world were now united with a people, whom we had been told through the US media, lived under the constant oppression and barbarism of Communism.

Our news media began to dialog with people and families in Russia and give American viewers, for the first time, a real look into life behind the iron curtain. Surprisingly and undeniably, the lives the Russian people was much like ours. They wanted to wake up, have their coffee and a good meal, make sure their children studied well, made good grades, expressed their creativity and succeeded in life. They wanted happiness, to find true love and to fulfill their dreams. They wanted peace and wanted a world of peace for their children and all other children of the world to grow up in. We painfully learned that they had never ever hated our freedom and the American way of life, as we had been told through our media. In fact, the exact opposite was true, they wanted and loved our freedom and everything it had to offer. It was a Santa Claus moment for millions upon millions of Americans, including myself.

My first direct touch point into politics came after graduating high school. I became a professional motocross racer of note in Northern Virginia, and as it turned out, Teddy Mondale, Vice President Fritz Mondale’s son also raced. We met and became friends at the races. Occasionally I would go to Teddy’s house at the Vice Presidential mansion in WDC. I went out on a couple of dates with his sister Eleanor and as a result got to meet and know VP Mondale. He was a remarkably nice and always gracious man. Living near the Washington beltway, as I did, the tension of our national and global politics was always in the air.

After my racing career, cut short by an injury, I went away to college. Political science and media communication classes started to shed light on how and for what purpose propaganda was used to lie to the masses. After graduating from college and taking my first job, I decided to explore politics a little further.

The first book I decided to read was Richard Nixon’s The Real War. Corrupt as he was determined to be, Nixon had a reputation of being a brilliant foreign strategist and I wanted to know the big picture about how global politics worked. As I read through the book his worldview became obvious. In the global scheme of things, the earth was like a chessboard where world leaders and powers vied for control and ownership over certain strategic resources such as oil, natural gas, water and important metals like titanium, platinum, chromium, etc.

Having strategic resources and/or having access to them was paramount in the manufacturing process of military/missile weaponry, planes and jet aircraft engines. These resources were also key to industrial growth, technological development and the American way of life. Therefore, it was critical to keep strategic resources out of the hands of political powers or groups that had anti-western sentiments. It was especially paramount, because U.S. soil had little to zero yield of strategic metals and without such, you could not manufacture jet aircraft engines, intercontinental ballistic missiles, nuclear weapons and so on. As such, the US had to make sure the leadership of other countries, who had such resources on their soil, would give us access to them. Wow, now I was beginning to understand the reasoning behind the U.S. having and maintaining some 1000 plus military bases around the world.

The Balfour Declaration – One Hundred Years of (Goyim) Solitude

NOVANEWS

Zionism can only operate within a Jerusalemite dominated universe.

A talk given at Keep Talking gathering in London,  7 November 2017

 By Gilad Atzmon

In Heidegger and the Jews, the French philosopher Jean-Francois Lyotard points out that history claims to narrate the past but, in practice, what it does is conceal our collective shame. The Americans conceal slavery and imperial genocidal aggression, the Brits conceal their colonial blunders, the Jews turn their eyes away from anything that may have contributed to turning  Jewish history into an extended shoah. The real historian, claims Lyotard, is there to unveil the shame. This week marks 100 years since the Balfour declaration and today I will try to touch upon your shame, my shame, our shame. We will try to figure out what the history of the so-called  Balfour ‘Declaration’ is there to conceal.

Let’s first examine the document. Most noticeably the so-called ‘declaration’ is not printed on official British government letterhead. It is not signed by the British cabinet either. It is, instead, a letter from a sleazy British politician  (Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour) to a very rich Jew (Lord Walter Rothschild). As such, the Balfour ‘declaration’ is actually a statement  with somewhat limited significance.  What it does is  “declare[s] sympathy with Zionist aspirations.”

908px-Balfour_declaration_unmarked.jpg

Yet, we must admit that the Jewish world has managed to squeeze quite a few drops of juice out of this watery statement. The Jewish world interprets this ‘sympathetic declaration’ as a commitment to their Zionist, racist and expansionist project namely the ‘Jewish State’. They claim to regard the vague statement as a license to ethnically cleanse the entire indigenous people of the land, i.e., the Palestinians. And, as if this is not enough, the British PM Theresa May has evidently bought into the most radical Zionist interpretation of the declaration.

May announced last week that she was “proud of our pioneering role in the creation of the state of Israel.”

Let me share some of the awkward history of the Balfour Declaration with you. The ‘declaration,’ as we now understand, was actually drafted and approved by British Jews before it was sent to Lord Rothschild.

The National Library of Israel reveals the flowing:

“Before the declaration was officially presented to Lord Rothschild by Lord Balfour, the draft was presented to Jewish leaders of every political stripe, both Zionist and non-Zionist. One of these leaders was Sir Philip Magnus, a Reform rabbi and British politician whose opinion on the declaration was sought.” (http://web.nli.org.il/sites/NLI/English/library/reading_corner/Pages/balfour.aspx)

Herbert Samuel, the British first High Commissioner of Palestine who served between 1920 and 1925  was an avid Zionist Jew and a close acquaintance of Chaim Weizmann, the leading pragmatic Zionist, the spirit behind the ‘declaration’ and later the first Israeli president.   How did the Zionists managed to plant a Zionist Jew in such a crucial and sensitive position? The answer is devastatingly simple. They were running the show.  We are talking here about Jewish domination of the relevant British foreign affairs as early as the beginning of the 20th century.

But was it really ‘The Jews,’ Moshe, Yaakov, Sarah who dominated British  Middle East affairs? Unlikely. It is more reasonable to assume that the fate of the empire and its decisions were in the hands of just a very few powerful Jews,  people like Lord Rothschild to whom Balfour actually addressed the declaration.

This tale of Jewish political domination extends well beyond the borders of Britain. In his invaluable book, The Pity of it All, Israeli historian Amos Elon suggests that the 1917 Balfour Declaration was at least partially motivated by the British government’s desire to win the support of pro-German Jewish- American bankers so that they would help push the USA into the war.

Elon argues that at the beginning of the war,  German- American Jewish financiers sided with the Germans and rejected possible alliances between the USA and England.  “Jacob H. Schiff, head of Kuhn, Loeb—at the time the largest private bank in the United States after J. P. Morgan—declared that he could no more disavow his loyalty to Germany than he could renounce his own parents. Schiff prayed for Germany’s victory. In a statement to the New York Times on November 22, 1914, he charged the British and the French with attempting to destroy Germany for reasons of trade.” (The Pity Of It All, pg. 455)

According to Elon, the Brits had encountered a Jewish problem with  American Jews. “The British government took these developments very seriously. In a fit of paranoia, the British ambassador in Washington even suspected the existence of a veritable German Jewish conspiracy in the United States directed at Britain.” (Ibid)

Thanks to the Balfour declaration German Jewish bankers in the US flipped sides. Seems that they betrayed their fatherland, no more were they German patriots. Elon’s conclusion is that: “The 1917 Balfour Declaration, calling for the establishment of a Jewish national home in Palestine, was at least partly motivated by the British government’s desire to win support among pro-German American Jews.” (ibid)

The take home message is rather devastating. For some time our universe has been dominated by tribal interests that are foreign to most of us. And for some reason we cannot really explore the conditions that shape our reality and dictate our doomed future.

This is, in fact, the precise meaning of Jewish power. Jewish power is the power that suppresses criticism of Jewish power. Some of the less sophisticated critics of Israel accuse Zionism and Israel of various conspiratorial doings. I, on the other hand, have said repeatedly that there are no Jewish conspiracies. All is done in the open. The Balfour ‘declaration’ that was written to a Jewish financier was quickly made public.  America was openly pushed into WWI for the sake of Zion.  The appointment of a Zionist Jew, Herbert Samuel, as the high commissioner of Palestine wasn’t a secret either. It was actually controversial at the time.

These events were as clear at the time as are contemporary Jewish lobby groups such as AIPAC, CRIF, CFI and LFI who push, in broad daylight, for Zio-driven immoral interventionist wars against Iraq, Syria, Iran and Libya. A century of constant abuse has  left us speechless. We do not know how to deal with this menace. And this is the core of our shame. This is what our history is there to conceal. This applies to you and me, but it also applies to Theresa May. To tell the truth about the Balfour Declaration is to publicly admit to 100 hundred years of Goyim solitude.

In the last few weeks, Palestinian solidarity enthusiasts have been creative in producing numerous proactive slogans. The one that grabbed my attention this week was “Balfour Declaration -100 years of ethnic cleansing.”  This week actually marks a century of Zionist domination of the Western civilisation.  But let me tell you, the real authentic Palestinians, those who live in Gaza and the West Bank may be slightly better off than the rest of us. While we are often overwhelmed by the sophistication of our masters in Tel Aviv, the Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon know exactly who their enemies are; they meet them in roadblocks, they recognise the sounds of their drones.  Our enemy here, in the USA, in France and in Britain, is somehow elusive: is it Zionism, is it Israel, or maybe just the Lobby? Is it really  ‘the Jews,’ or even Judaism? Where exactly does Judaism end and Jewishness start? Let me try to open your eyes. It is none of the above, and yet it might as well be all of the above and beyond.  Zionism is a sophisticated matrix and it shifts rapidly.  Zionism like Jewish anti Zionism strives for your intellectual castration. It somehow defies your opposition even before you can utter it yourself. How is this done? It obliterates your ability to act ethically and rationally. It targets your survival skills. How? It eradicates your Athenian roots and replaces them with a rigid Jerusalemite regulatory system.

In my recent book Being in Time – a post Political Manifesto  I delve into the Straussian dichotomy between Athens and Jerusalem. Athens is where we think things through, Athens is where philosophy and essentialism are celebrated. Jerusalem is the city of revelation, where Torah, Mitzvoth and commandments are accepted blindly. Athens is where ethics is explored by means of judgment. Jerusalem, on the other hand, is where ethics is replaced by laws.

Zionism, my friends, can only operate within a Jerusalemite dominated universe. A world governed by a tyranny of correctness. Was it Herzl, Ben Gurion or Netanyahu who imposed such tyrannical conditions on us?  Not at all, this is the role of the New Left, the Identitarians, the cultural Marxists, the ‘progressives’ the people who adhere to ideological collectivism. The people who in the name of diversity silence the majority. Those who instead of uniting us around that which we all share, actually seek to divide us into infinitesimal particles of biological symptoms (skin colour, sex orientation, etc.).

I started this talk with a reference to Leyotard and his Heidegger and the Jews, I conclude with a reference to the teaching of the 20th century’s  greatest Athenian: Martin Heidegger.

In opposition to the Jerusalemites of the world who in the name of ‘correctness’ tell us what to say and what to think, Martin Heidegger, the Athenian, taught us that to educate is to teach others to think for themselves and how to refine the questions (as opposed to recycling answers).

Time is overdue for us to liberate ourselves from our shame. Time is ripe to call a spade a spade. Now is the time for Alethea ( truth – Ancient Greek) and Logos to prevail.  We must emancipate ourselves and find our true voice once again.  Emancipation is opposition to the Jerusalemite oppressive condition. It is the fight for the disclosure of human unity once again.

The Saudi Purge: The Middle East Is On The Verge Of New War

Posted by: Sammi Ibrahem,Sr

…from SouthFront

Saudi Arabia is going through a major internal political crisis the likes of which has rarely been seen.

A missile gets fired on the Saudi capital. A missile, which was allegedly built in Iran and smuggled to Yemen, just to be fired at Saudi Arabia.

According to initial reports, two Saudi princes died back to back in 24 hours: one in an “accidental” helicopter crash, the other during a firefight that broke out while security forces were trying to arrest him. On November 7, Saudi Arabia’s information ministry spokesman said that “Prince Abdulaziz is alive and well”. However, the prince could not be independently reached for comment by the media.

Other high-ranking members of the establishment and the royal family — the two tend to be one and the same in Saudi Arabia — get arrested on charges of corruption, with their bank accounts frozen.

Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri unexpectedly resigns after he was summoned to Riyadh by his Saudi-backers.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia accused Iran of conducting acts of “direct military aggression” and accused Lebanon of “declaring war” on Riyadh by allowing Hezbollah “aggression” against the kingdom.

All this happened in a span of just a few days.

With ever-growing security challenges and problems at the regional level, the crisis that took hold of Saudi Arabia does not seem to be slowing down.

One contributing factor to the ongoing crisis is a major split in the Saudi royal family: the power struggle that resulted in the former crown prince being deposed and replaced with a new one, a move that shook things up quite a bit inside the country. The echo of this can be seen in the current “anti-corruption” persecution, enforced by the current Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.

Outside the country, several key foreign policy projects failed: the effectiveness of the Yemen intervention can be judged by the fact that it resulted in a missile being fired at Riyadh. Bashar al-Assad is still in power in Syria. The attempts to scare Qatar into submission backfired, as Qatar has been getting more and more friendly with Russia, Turkey and Iran.

Iran is gaining more and more influence in the region, while the Saudis seem to be losing it, hence they are trying to compensate for their losses by participating in proxy wars elsewhere.

The Saudis also tried to flex their diplomatic muscle. King Salman even visited Moscow, where the two sides exchanged promises with no guarantees that these will ever be fulfilled. This also backfired, as some considered it a demonstration of weakness or an attempt to make peace by making concessions.

Add economic struggles to this series of failures, and one can see why the King’s and his Crown Prince’s position seem less and less stable by the minute. The situation apparently seemed so dire, that in order to keep everything afloat active persecution seemed the only possible way to keep the King and his successor in power. The “anti-corruption” campaign is just an excuse: the corruption has always been high in Saudi Arabia, and no one batted an eye before now.

These are temporary measures.

Persecution can hardly solve foreign and internal matters, and it will not lead to a solution of the problems. Right now, the kingdom’s leadership is desperately in need of an enemy to unite the population and draw their attention away from the chaotic events that unfolding in the country.

A warlike rhetoric against Iran, Lebanon and Hezbollah are a clear sign of this. While Iran is a potent regional power in military and diplomatic terms, Hezbollah is a non-state actor. So, Riyadh may choose the group as an enemy for its risky foreign policy undertaking. Saudi Arabia and Israel are obvious allies in their will to destroy Hezbollah. On November 5, Tel Aviv started the largest-ever aerial exercise in the history of Israel. A leaked diplomatic cable confirmed that the Saudis and Israelis are coordinating their efforts against Iran and Hezbollah thus escalating the already tense situation in the Middle East.

The region may be heading for another large-scale military conflict.

Last ISIS Town Falls

NOVANEWS

The Syrian Army and its allies have captured the last major stronghold of Islamic State (IS, former ISIS/ISIL), according to RT Arabic. Iraqi mobilization units also reportedly took part in the operation, local media reports.

Syrian government forces have captured the town of Abu Kamal located in the Euphrates valley on the border with Iraq, according to an RT Arabic correspondent and local TV.  The town was one of the last major settlements held by Islamic State terrorists.

A video published on a YouTube account affliated with the pro-government forces shows Syrian Army soldiers and allied forces from various militia groups as well as Hezbollah fighters celebrating their victory in Abu Kamal. The footage shows Hezbollah fighters posing with the group’s flag as well as Syrian soldiers and allied militia posing with the national Syrian flag.

The footage shows Hezbollah fighters posing with the group’s flag as well as Syrian soldiers and allied militia members posing with the national Syrian flag.

The soldiers on the video appear to be wearing Syrian and Iraqi army uniforms. The landscape in the video also appears to be consistent with the terrain around Abu Kamal.

The city of Deir ez-Zor, which endured years of IS blockade, was breached by the Syrian army with the support of Russian airstrikes early in September.

On November 3, the Russian Defense Ministry said IS-controlled areas in Syria had shrunk to less than 5 percent of the country’s land area. Earlier, the Russian Defense Minister, Sergey Shoigu, said Islamic State controlled “more than 70 percent of Syrian territory” before Russian Air Forces started its operation in the Middle Eastern country.

The liberation of Abu Kamal marks the ultimate end of the territorial ambitions of Islamic State, Joshua Landis, head of the Middle East Studies Department at the University of Oklahoma, told RT. He added that Islamic State has now lost all the major settlements it controlled while being pinned down by the Syrian and Iraqi armies in the border region between the two countries.

“The two armies met up and liberated this last major town [held by Islamic State],” Landis, adding that “this is the end of ISIS as a ‘state’.” He also pointed out that the terrorists are now being prevented from freely moving between Syrian and Iraqi territory, making the fight against them much easier.

CIA: “We’re with Hillary” ‘VIDEO’

DONALD TRUMP – THE ACCIDENTAL PRESIDENT

CIA

SANDERS WAS THE ONE DEFRAUDED – BY CLINTON AND THE CIA

Republican power players and donors including the intelligence “community” loved Hillary and she was their candidate in 2016.

But Trump won anyway.

A fascinating analysis, you won’t hear anywhere else.

There is election fraud in the US – and it was used to defraud Bernie Sanders and his followers and give Clinton the nomination.

I think this analyst is right on the money. I’m a fan of Greg Palast but he is completely wrong with this “Hillary was cheated” nonsense

Hillary is the cheater – and she was so appalling as a candidate, she lost anyway.

And now we have an “accidental” president, not the one who would have helped put our country back on track: Bernie Sanders.

The endless US war on Cuba ‘VIDEO’

NOVANEWS

Image result for US war on Cuba CARTOON

IT GOES ON TO THIS DAY

PROVOCATION AFTER PROVOCATION

It’s little known, but at the time of the 1959 Cuban revolution, 60% of all Cuban property – land, sugar mills, port facilities, factories and more – was owned by foreigners.

Not a good thing especially since many of the foreign owners were abusive.

The US Mafia, for instance, operated a large network of casinos, bars, and nightclubs that doubled as centers of crime. The thugs that provided “security” for these places were also used by the corrupt government to assault and murder political opponents.

Owners of Cuban property included the Rockefellers and the Bush family.

When Cubans took back their country and appropriated foreign owned property, there were a lot of hard feelings to say the least. There were also hard feelings among the Cuban agents who worked on behalf of the dictator, the Mafia and US monopolists.

These people – many of them hereditary criminals – want their “deal” back. They liked the Cuba where no one had access to medical care and only the wealthy were educated beyond grammar school.

Now Cuba – in spite of a non-stop economic war waged on it by the US – has one of the highest literacy rate in the world and sends it doctors to help in disasters around the world, over 700 to help after the recent hurricanes in 2017.

The Cuban system is not perfect, but in the areas of social welfare and dealing with civilian emergencies, it makes the US look truly pathetic.

As I write this, over 30 days after Hurricane Irma, over 3 million US citizens living in Cuba are still without electricity and medical and other basic services, and many still lack access to potable water and reliable food supplies.

Why destroy Cuba?

Because they make the gangsters who run the US look bad.

“The Savages Were in the Way”: California’s History of Genocide

Today, California is the most populous state in the US. But its history includes the deliberate mass murder of Indigenous people in the 1800s. In this excerpt from An American Genocide, Benjamin Madley argues that this organized catastrophe qualifies as genocide.

[Editors’ note: In his introduction, the author states “Where sources create uncertainty as to tribal identity, I follow the twenty-first-century California Indian practice of using the term Indian or California Indians.” Truthout’s policy is to use the terms Indigenous or Native for articles by non-Native authors and we have made that change in this excerpt.]

As the sun rose on July 7, 1846, four US warships rode at anchor in Monterey Bay. Ashore, the Mexican tricolor cracked over the adobe walls and red-tiled roofs of California’s capitol for the last time. At 7:30 am, Commodore John Sloat sent Captain William Mervine ashore “to demand the immediate surrender of the place.” The Mexican commandant then fled, and some 250 sailors and marines assembled at the whitewashed customs house on the water’s edge.

As residents, immigrants, seamen, and soldiers looked on, Mervine read Commodore Sloat’s proclamation: “I declare to the inhabitants of California, that although I come in arms … I come as their best friend — as henceforth California will be a portion of the United States, and its peaceable inhabitants will enjoy the same rights and privileges as the citizens of any other portion of that nation.” As the USS Savannah’s sailors and marines hoisted the Stars and Stripes to a chorus of cheers, three ships of the US Pacific Squadron fired a sixty three-gun salute. The cannons’ roar swept over the plaza to the pine-studded hills above the bay before echoing back over the harbor. The first hours of conquest were relatively peaceful, but a new order had come to California. The lives of perhaps 150,000 California Native Americans now hung in the balance.

The US military officers who took control of California that July under martial law had the opportunity to reinvent the existing Mexican framework within which colonists and California Native Americans interacted. Instead, these officers reinforced and intensified existing discriminatory Mexican policies toward these Native Americans. The elected civilian state legislators who followed them then radically transformed the relationship between colonists and California Native Americans. Together with federal officials, they created a catastrophe.

Yet, the California Native population cataclysm of 1846-1873 continued a pre-existing trajectory. During California’s seventy-seven-year-long Russo-Hispanic Period (1769-1846) its Native Americans had already suffered a devastating demographic decline. During the era when Spaniards, Russians, and Mexicans colonized the coastal region between San Diego and Fort Ross, California’s Native population fell from perhaps 310,000 to 150,000. Some 62,600 of these deaths occurred at or near California’s coastal region missions, and, in 1946, journalist Carey McWilliams initiated a long debate over the nature of these institutions when he compared the Franciscan missionaries, who had held large numbers of California Native Americans there, to “Nazis operating concentration camps.” Today, a wide spectrum of scholarly opinion exists, with the extreme poles represented by mission defenders Father Francis Guest and Father Maynard Geiger, on the one hand, and mission critics Rupert and Jeannette Costo — who called the missions genocidal — on the other. However one judges the missions, Russo-Hispanic colonization caused the deaths of tens of thousands of California Native people.

Under US rule, California Native Americans died at an even more astonishing rate. Between 1846 and 1870, California’s Native American population plunged from perhaps 150,000 to 30,000. By 1880, census takers recorded just 16,277 California Native Americans. Diseases, dislocation, and starvation were important causes of these many deaths. However, abduction, de jure and de facto unfree labor, mass death in forced confinement on reservations, homicides, battles, and massacres also took thousands of lives and hindered reproduction. According to historical demographer Sherburne Cook, an often-quoted authority on California Native demographic decline, a “complete lack of any legal control” helped create the context in which these phenomena were possible. Was the California Native catastrophe just another western US tragedy in which unscrupulous individuals exploited the opportunities provided in a lawless frontier?

The organized destruction of California’s Native peoples under US rule was not a closely guarded secret. Mid-nineteenth-century California newspapers frequently addressed, and often encouraged, what we would now call genocide, as did some state and federal employees. Historians began using these and other sources to address the topic as early as 1890. That year, historian Hubert Howe Bancroft summed up the California Native catastrophe under US rule: “The savages were in the way; the miners and settlers were arrogant and impatient; there were no missionaries or others present with even the poor pretense of soul saving or civilizing. It was one of the last human hunts of civilization, and the basest and most brutal of them all.” In 1935, US Indian Affairs commissioner John Collier added, “The world’s annals contain few comparable instances of swift depopulation — practically, of racial massacre — at the hands of a conquering race.” In 1940, historian John Walton Caughey titled a chapter of his California history “Liquidating the Native Americans: ‘Wars’ and Massacres.” Three years later, Cook wrote the first major study on the topic. He quantified the violent killing of 4,556 California Native Americans between 1847 and 1865, concluding that, “since the quickest and easiest way to get rid of [the Northern California Native] was to kill him off, this procedure was adopted as standard for some years.”

In the same year that Cook published his groundbreaking article, Nazi mass murder in Europe catalyzed the development of a new theoretical and legal framework for discussing such events. In 1943, legal scholar Raphael Lemkin coined a new word for an ancient crime. Defining the concept in 1944, he combined “the Greek word genos (tribe, race) and the Latin cide,” or killing, to describe genocide as any attempt to physically or culturally annihilate an ethnic, national, religious, or political group. The 1948 United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide more narrowly defined genocide as “acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such,” including:

(a) Killing members of the group;

(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;

(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;

(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;

(e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

The Genocide Convention thus provides an internationally recognized and rather restrictive rubric for evaluating possible instances of genocide. First, perpetrators must evince “intent to destroy” a group “as such.” Second, perpetrators must commit at least one of the five genocidal acts against “a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such.” The Genocide Convention criminalizes the five directly genocidal acts defined above and also other acts connected to genocide. The Convention stipulates that “the following acts shall be punishable,” including:

(a) Genocide;

(b) Conspiracy to commit genocide;

(c) Direct and public incitement to commit genocide;

(d) Attempt to commit genocide;

(e) Complicity in genocide.

Finally, the Convention specifies that “persons committing genocide or any of the other acts enumerated . . . shall be punished, whether they are constitutionally responsible rulers, public officials or private individuals.”

In US criminal law, intent is present if an act is intentional, not accidental. The international crime of genocide involves more, comprising “acts committed with intent to destroy” a group “as such.” International criminal lawyers call this specific intent, meaning destruction must be consciously desired, or purposeful. Yet, specific intent does not require a specific motive, a term absent from the Genocide Convention. Under the Convention’s definition, genocide can be committed even without a motive like racial hatred. The motive behind genocidal acts does not need to be an explicit desire to destroy a group; it may be, but the motive can also be territorial, economic, ideological, political, or military.

Moreover, the Convention declares that “genocide, whether committed in time of peace or in time of war, is a crime under international law.” If the action is deliberate, and the group’s partial or total destruction a desired outcome, the motive behind that intent is irrelevant. Yet, how does a twentieth century international treaty apply to nineteenth-century events?

The Genocide Convention does not allow for the retroactive prosecution of crimes committed before 1948, but it does provide a powerful analytical tool: a frame for evaluating the past and comparing similar events across time. Lemkin himself asserted that, “genocide has always existed in history,” and he wrote two manuscripts addressing instances of genocide in periods ranging from “Antiquity” to “Modern Times.”

Genocide is a twentieth-century word, but it describes an ancient phenomenon and can therefore be used to analyze the past, in much the way that historians routinely use other new terms to understand historical events. Indeed, Lemkin planned chapters titled “Genocide against the Indians” and “The Indian in North America (in part),” but he died before he could complete either project.

Why Marx Is More Relevant Than Ever: An Interview With David Harvey

NOVANEWS

By Michael Palmieri and Paul SlikerLeft Out

David Harvey is arguably the most influential living geographer, as well as one of the world’s leading Marxist scholars. He is among the most cited intellectuals of all time across the humanities and social sciences.

Harvey currently works as distinguished professor of anthropology and geography at CUNY, where he has been teaching Marx’s “Capital: Critique of Political Economy” for more than four decades. His course on Marx’s Capital has been downloaded by over 2 million people internationally since appearing online in 2008.

Harvey is also a famous author of several bestselling books, including The Enigma of CapitalA Brief History of Neoliberalism17 Contradictions and the End of Capitalism and many more.

His latest book, Marx, Capital and the Madness of Economic Reason, makes the core of Karl Marx’s thinking in the three volumes of Capital clear and accessible for the lay reader, without compromising their depth and complexity.

Marx’s trilogy concerns the circulation of capital: volume I, how labour increases the value of capital, which he called valorisation; volume II, on the realisation of this value, by selling it and turning it into money or credit; and volume III, on what happens to the value next in processes of distribution.

As Harvey argues in our interview, most people who read Capital often stop after the 1,152 pages of Volume I, which is very problematic if you want to understand the workings of capital as a totality.

We ask Harvey why understanding all three volumes of Capital is so crucial, and why technological, economic and industrial change over the last 150 years makes Marx’s analysis more relevant now than ever.

In the last half of the discussion, we probe into whether it’s necessary for social movements today to develop a stronger institutional basis for understanding how capital and capitalism works, and ask Harvey what should the Left most focus on to effectively organize for a better economy and society.
