World terrorism ends when we stop Israel’s injustice against Palestinians, says Dr Mahahir Mohamad

KUALA LUMPUR, July 27 — The seizure of Palestanian land to form the illegal State of Israel has been the main cause of terrorism in the world, Tun Dr Mahahir Mohamad told Turkish news agency, Anadolu Agency, in a report today.

The prime minister said if the causes of terrorism is not dealt with, then it would be difficult to put a stop to it.

“The main thing that we think we should always stress is the causes of terrorism. Today, there is already a consensus almost to blame terrorism on Muslims.

“But the fact you said, after the seizure of Palestine, and the disregard of international law by Israel, this has led to so-called acts of terrorism. But in order to get rid of terrorism, we need to know the reason why they terrorise unless you treat the causes of terrorism, you are not going to be able to stop terrorism,” he was quoted in the report.

Dr Mahathir suggested that the State of Israel should allow the previous Palestinian people to return back to reclaim their property, or at least agree on the two-state solution and stop the Israelis from building settlements in the Palestinian territory.

“And if we know, beside this, the causes for terrorism, and we treat them, we take action to stop this injustice perpetrated on the Palestinians, I think there will be less terrorism or no terrorism all over the world,” he said.

Dr Mahathir said though there has not been enough news coverage and accurate reporting on the actual situation of the Palestinian problem, he said Malaysia and Turkey can continue to keep the issue alive in order for it to be addressed at the global stage.

“There is an attempt to just kill the issue completely as if nothing has happened. But the fact is that there is a great deal of injustice perpetrated against the Palestinians and we intend, I think both Turkey and Malaysia intend, to keep this problem alive, so that the world will appreciate the injustice that has been done to the Palestinians.

“With regard to the Palestinian problem, the clear truth about it is that it has not been given enough airing either in the media or on TV. That seems to be an agreement on the part of the media not to highlight the problems of Palestine,” said Dr Mahathir, citing the Israeli act against international law to have been omitted from news reports.

Dr Mahathir had on many occasions defended his views against the Israeli State and still held firm in calling Jews ‘hooked nosed’, an act that caused him to be previously accused of anti-Semitism.

The new Pakatan Harapan government has doubled down on its condemnations against Israel and Zionists while backing Palestinians amid the long-standing Middle East conflict.

Putrajaya was also firm in prohibiting Israeli athletes from participating in the 2019 World Para Swimming Championships to be held in Kuching later this year.

Powerful Zionist organizations are trying to shut down Alison Weir’s Fresno lecture on September 18th, but Twitter is having none of it.

With over 1 million impressions as of Monday morning, it’s clear that Twitter users are not buying the smear campaign peddled by ADL and other powerful orgs bent on silencing Alison Weir as she calls for justice for Palestinians.

Who, What, When, Where, Why?

By Kathryn Shihadah

By now, it’s common knowledge that activist and writer Alison Weir will be speaking about Israel’s occupation of Palestine on Wednesday, September 18th. The lecture will take place from 6:00-7:30 pm at the Clovis Community College Forum Hall, 10309 N. Willow Av, Fresno, CA.

The event began as a small-scale lecture at a community college, but grew to prominence when several global pro-Israel organizations began pressuring the college and the event organizers to cancel the event.

The pressure has led to a Twitterstorm using the hashtag #IStandWithAlisonWeir (created by Mary Hughes-Thompson – Twitter handle: @Mariapalestina), which has now been seen by over 1.1 million people spanning four continents, according to Keyhole.

The organizer of the event – local news organization GV Wire – stated on its website, “We welcome thoughtful debate on this subject and this speaker, as well as any of the topics we cover. Our hope is that audience members will reach their own conclusions based on the information presented.”

Speaker Alison Weir explains the reason for the attacks: “these Israel advocacy groups don’t want people to learn the facts I provide in my talks. The reality is that numerous human rights groups have documented Israeli war crimes, including Human Rights WatchAmnesty InternationalChristian AidB’Tselem (an Israeli NGO), the International Red CrossPhysicians for Human RightsReporters Without BordersForeign Service Journal, and even the U.S. State Department.”

Meme created by Rev. Stephen Brackens (Twitter handle: @revhumanrights)

Not covered by mainstream media

GV Wire asserts, “Our goal is to provide different perspectives than those customarily provided by the mainstream media on issues of global concern.”

Alison Weir undoubtedly meets this criterion: her organization, If Americans Knew, (websiteblog) exists for the sole purpose of “inform[ing] and educat[ing] the American public on issues of major significance that are unreported, underreported, or misreported in the American media.”

Weir explains, “Pro-Israel groups don’t want Americans to learn that we give Israel over $10 million per day – over $7,000 per minute – in aid that is used to maintain a brutal and illegal occupation, incarcerate children, and sustain a racist, settler colonial enterprise.”

Social media spreads the word

The massive Twitter response to Weir’s lecture is engaging users around the world and functioning as a mass invitation to the event, which is free and open to the public. The Twitter storm has elicited comments like:

“The Fact that you are Under attack by Gangster Zionists Shows that You are on the Right Side. Keep Fighting, the world is Awake and Support you.”

“Same reasons for denying @IlhanMN and @RashidaTlaib visits to the oPt. Israel wants to keep their human rights violations hidden. Fortunately, the truth always bubbles up. Alison Weir will be speaking truth to power on Sept 18th, I hope many are in attendance to hear her speak.”

“This shows how low zionists go all the time, when they can’t just spin facts and the reality of their crimes! WITH YOU 100% Alison! You are a true Hero!”

Thousands of views on Facebook have also spread news of the September 18 event far and wide, with comments on GV Wire’s FB page like,

“Much respect and gratitude is due for inviting Alison Weir. to your community. Her integrity, compassion, professionalism and courage as a journalist are exemplary.”

“I fully support Alison Weir’s upcoming talk at Clovis Community College in Fresno. Please make it happen and do not succumb to Israel partisans! It is very important that Ms. Weir give her talk. Thank you!”

“Thanks for hosting this event. Alison Weir is a true American patriot who provides an honest well researched analysis of our middle-east policies.”

The Nay-Sayers

Groups opposing Alison Weir’s September 18 lecture in Fresno include the American Jewish Committee (AJC) – a global organization with thirty offices worldwide and net assets of almost $158 million, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL – with $81 million in assets), and StandWithUs (annual revenue: $12 million). A director of the Wiesenthal Center, another global organization (with assets of $54 million) has taken a stand as well.

Weir asserts, “these organizations have attempted to dig up dirt on me and label me anti-Semitic. Their accusations are unfounded, as they know. I stand for justice and equality, and I condemn all types of racism, including anti-Semitism. I hope people who live in the Fresno-Clovis area will come to hear me for themselves and make their own decisions.”

Below is GV Wire’s promo video for the Alison Weir lecture, UNCOVERED: ISRAEL’S OCCUPATION OF PALESTINE, Wednesday, September 18 at Clovis Community College Forum Hall, 10309 N. Willow Av, Fresno, CA, 6:00 – 7:30 PM.

Gulf elites cheer Israeli attacks on Arab countries

Gulf elites and politicians are cheering Israel on as it escalates its attacks on Arab countries in the region this month.

Israel bombed sites in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon in the past week alone, with an underlying aggression towards Iran at the core of these attacks.

All the attacks were on sites belonging to groups purportedly supported by Iran. They included the Lebanese resistance organization Hizballah and Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces, which helped defeat the Islamic State group also known as ISIS.

Gulf states are salivating at the prospect of directly enlisting Israel’s military might in the proxy war by Saudi Arabia and its allies against Iran.

Bahrain FM defends Israel

Bahrain’s foreign minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa defended Israel’s attacks in a tweet on Monday.

“Iran is the one who declared war on us, with its Revolutionary Guards, its Lebanese party, its popular mobilization in Iraq, its Houthi arm in Yemen and others,” Al Khalifa tweeted.

“Those who beat them and destroy their equipment are not to blame. It’s self-defense.”

This was not the first time Al Khalifa endorsed Israel’s military attacks against its neighbors.

In the past, Al Khalifa also praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and defended Australia’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Prayer for Israeli victory

Meanwhile, Emirati blogger Hamad Al Mazrouei offered a prayer on Twitter for Israeli victory over Iran.

حمد المزروعي@uae_3G

اللهم انصر اسرائيل على ايران …1,6236:15 PM – Aug 27, 2019

Al Mazrouei has been referred to as a blogger and a journalist by several websites, but he is not registered in the UAE Journalists Association, according to Emirati newspaper The National.

United Arab Emirates businessman Khalaf Al Habtoor called for Arab countries to follow Israel’s example and start attacking their neighbors.

KhalafAhmadAlHabtoor

“Why aren’t we, Arabs, hitting those targets?” Al Habtoor said in a video he posted on Twitter.

“Israel is hitting them on behalf of Arabs,” he added. “It hits terrorist sites that threaten the entire Arab world, especially us in the Gulf Cooperation Council.”

“We have to hit these locations.”

Al Habtoor also mocked anyone who would refer to Israel as an “enemy.”

Future partnerships

Meanwhile, Saudi journalist Abd al-Hamid al-Ghabin wrote about his country’s mutual interests with Israel in a recent piece for Israel Hayom, the highest circulation newspaper in Israel, owned and funded by casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson.

Al-Ghabin suggested on Twitter he will contribute regularly to the newspaper.

“Israel is a logical future partner for us as we have mutual enemies: Iran, the Muslim Brotherhood, al-Qaida and a handful of reckless rulers who remain in power in our region,” he wrote.

He failed to note how Israel has, in fact, supported and even armed al-Qaida-linked militias in Syria.

The Saudi journalist also attacked Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas and the Jordanian royal family and media in the same piece.

“We don’t know if the royal family of Jordan will remain in power by the time Jordan officially becomes Palestine,” al-Ghabin stated.

“While Palestinian children die to become ‘martyrs,’ Jordan’s king cruises the Mediterranean in his yacht and Abbas’ sons are likely to be found vacationing in Nova Scotia – the preferred destination, I am told.”

Turning Jordan into an alternative state for Palestinians, so that Israel can seize the whole of historic Palestine, is a longstanding dream of the Israeli far right.

Al-Ghabin appeared on Israel’s i24 News last month calling on Saudi Arabia to seize control over Jerusalem’s holy places from Jordan, which acts as a custodian. Al-Aqsa mosque is one of Islam’s holiest sites.

The Saudi journalist makes the same case in Israel Hayom.

“The king of Jordan has neither been maintaining or protecting the site,” al-Ghabin writes.

“Instead, Saudi Arabia could offer the proper custodianship for al-Aqsa under a new arrangement.”

Al-Ghabin boasted that his country allows Iranians to make pilgrimage to Mecca despite how most “belong to the Shiite sect,” showing clear sectarian prejudice.

Iranian judoka Saeid Mollaei was understood to have intentionally forfeited matches in order to boycott Israeli athletes.

Mollaei lost the match that would qualify him to face Muki.

Israeli media claimed that the Iranian athlete intended to face Muki but faced pressure from Iranian intelligence agents who showed up at the event, as well as Mollaei’s family home.

It is unclear how credible this reporting is.

In the past, an agreement was reached between the International Judo Federation and Iran’s national Olympic committee, conceding that the latter will “fully respect the Olympic Charter and its non-discrimination principle.”

The statement does not name Israel, but the move was understood by Israeli media as a response to Iranian judokas’ refusal to fight Israeli athletes and to forfeit matches instead.

Iran’s national Olympic committee later denied the reversal of the boycott.

Hezbollah Missiles Hit ‘Israeli’ Base, Military Vehicle on Lebanese Border; No Casualties

Several anti-tank missiles were fired from Lebanon Sunday at an Israeli army base and military vehicle in Israel’s north, the Israeli army said. The incident, which came after a week of growing tension between Israel and Hezbollah, caused some damage but led to no casulaties.skip – Haaretz Weekly Episode 38

Haaretz Weekly Episode 38Haaretz

The Israeli military returned fire at the sources of the strike and at targets in southern Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces said, later adding that after several hours, the exchange of fire has ended. This was confirmed by Lebanese media.

Lebanon‘s Al-Mayadeen TV initially said that Hezbollah has destroyed an Israeli military vehicle near the border, and that the strike “killed and wounded those inside,” but the Israeli military later refuted those claims.

The IDF spokesperson said that at around 5 P.M., “A number of anti-tank missiles were fired from Lebanese territory at an Israeli army base and a military vehicle in the Avivim area.” In addition to artillery fire, an IDF aircraft struck the Hezbollah cell that fired the missiles, the statement said.

“The IDF will continue to keep a high threat level – both defensive and offensive – for a wide variety of scenarios,” the statement added.

Speaking before a planned appearance with the visiting president of Honduras, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israel had responded  “with 100 shells, aerial fire and various measures” into Lebanese territory. He said that “We have no casualties – not even a scratch.”

“I have given instructions to be prepared for any scenario, and we will decide on what’s next depending on how things develop,” Netanyahu added.

Israeli diversion

Later on Sunday, it was revealed that the IDF conducted a diversionary maneuver that included evacuating bandaged soldiers to a hospital.

After the missile hit the armored vehicle, which was being used as an ambulance, the IDF called in a helicopter to the scene, and two soldiers were filmed being carried out on a stretcher.

Rambam Medical Center in Haifa had announced the arrival of the two soldiers, and about an hour later, IDF Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis announced that there were no Israeli military casualties. Manelis refused to comment on visuals showing the helicopter evacuating the soldiers to the hospital.

Manelis claimed that it was no coincidence that an hour passed between Rambam’s announcement of wounded soldiers and his own statement that no soldiers had been hurt. Manelis refused to elaborate on the progression of events. Rambam later published an unusual notice, according to which the soldiers brought in by the helicopter were examined, released and found not to be suffering from any injuries.

The IDF refuses to comment on the possibility that the sequence of events was planned in advance in order to mislead Hezbollah and give the group the impression that it succeeded in getting the reaction it wanted. The delay in announcing that there were no casualties despite the helicopter evacuation was seemingly intended to create a significant window to de-escalate the situation, with the intention of restoring calm to the area.

Hezbollah says not seeking escalation

Hezbollah sources talking to Qatari channel Al Jazeera said the Lebanese movement was not seeking escalation.

The United Nations peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon, UNIFIL, called on both Israel and Hezbollah to exercise restraint in the exchange of fire. Its commanding officer, Maj. Gen. Stefano Del Col, “is in contact with the parties urging the maximum restraint and asked to cease all activities endangering the cessation of hostilities.”

After calm was restored, Maj. Gen. Del Col called the anti-tank fire a “violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and clearly directed at undermining stability in the area,” and stressed the need to maintain security along the border.

“UNIFIL is following up to determine the facts and circumstances of the incident, including any casualties or damages caused as a result. At this time UNIFIL has no reports of casualties from either side,” he said.

Iran’s state news agency IRNA quoted a senior Iranian security official as saying that Hezbollah’s policy is aimed at safeguarding the interests of Lebanon. “Hezbollah enjoys significant popular support in Lebanon … the Zionist regime’s (Israel) punishment by Hezbollah was a reciprocal measure that displayed the resistance front’s determination to counter threats,” said Ali Shamkhani.

Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri called on U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and French President Emmanuel Macron to “intervene immediately” to de-escalate the situation, Hariri’s office said.

A U.S. State Department official declined to speak about any diplomatic discussions, but said: “We are aware of these reports and are concerned about the escalating tensions along the border. The United States fully supports Israel’s right to self-defense.”

The State Department official said Hezbollah should refrain from “hostile actions which threaten Lebanon’s security, stability, and sovereignty,” and suggested Iran had a hand in the violence.

“This is another example of the destabilizing role of Iranian proxies in undermining peace and security in the region,” the official said.

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin opened his meeting with the Ethiopian president with a message to Hezbollah, saying that it is known to all those wishing to harm Israel that “We are ready and prepared to protect the citizens of Israel wherever they may be. We are ready, and we do not want to show you just how much.” He added, “Take heed that the quiet can prevail only on both sides of the border.”

Lebanon protests Israeli drone

The Lebanese army said that Israel fired more than 40 shells at border villages, causing blazes, and that the shelling continued into the evening. It did not report any Lebanese casualties.

According to reports in Lebanese media, there was fire in the Maroun al-Ras area, on the Israeli border.

Across the border, residents of the Israeli communities of Avivim and Yiron reported hearing explosions. Avivim resident Eliezer Biton told Haaretz that exchanges of fire continue. “The community is locked down. Everyone is in shelters or protected rooms,” he said, speaking from his shelter. He was near the border, across from Maroun al-Ras, when the first strike took place. “We were ready for it. There’s been tension in past days,” he said.

Israeli defense sources say Hezbollah’s offensive, which included missile fire at tanks and other military targets all at once, was designed to make it difficult for the IDF to respond immediately.

The Israeli army instructed municipalities near the border to open their shelters, and announced that residents who live up to four kilometers from the Lebanon border should remain in their homes and enter shelters if sirens sound. It also urged locals to cancel all activities along the border, including farming and children’s activities.

The IDF set up roadblocks on arteries leading north, and blocked traffic from entering northern towns.

Earlier Sunday, the Lebanese army said that an Israeli drone violated Lebanon’s airspace and dropped incendiary material that sparked a fire in a pine forest by the border.

The Lebanese army statement said it was following up with UN peacekeepers in the area but gave no further details.

Other reports from Lebanon claimed that unmanned aerial vehicles dropped flammables on a grove nearby known as the Bastra Farm in order to set fire to the place so as to expose further targets.

The Israeli army confirmed fires broke out in the area due to military action.

Nasrallah threatens

Over the weekend, illuminating bombs were hurled over the Shebba Farms, and Lebanese media outlets reported that fires were sparked as a result.

The reported attack comes a day after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said that his Shi’ite group will retaliate for drone attacks last week in Beirut that he has attributed to Israel “in every possible place along the border.”

“Our response for last week’s events will be [launched from] within Lebanon against Israeli targets. We usually strike in the area of the Shebba Farms [Mount Dov],” but this time the group will not limit its attacks on one area, he added.

The Israeli military bolstered troops on the northern border over the weekend due to concerns that such a retaliatory attack will take place.

The Israeli defense establishment still believes the Shi’ite group is determined to respond to the attack, but is not interested in sparking a war. Nonetheless, security forces are preparing for the possibility of a violent round of fighting that could lead to another strike in Lebanon. Aerial defense batteries have been deployed in the north to thwart drones and other UAVs that terror organization may try to launch to attack Israel. The Israeli army has also instructed that the airspace near the northern border be closed off. The Israel Navy, meanwhile, is preparing for possible attacks on Israeli vessels.

On Saturday, local residents reported seeing many troops moving around the area of the Golan Heights, and said they saw tanks and armored personnel carriers. Illuminating bombs were fired overnight on Friday near the Druze village of Majdal Shams, and Lebanese media outlets reported that the bombs had caused fires to break out in the area.

The Israeli military began preparing for a retaliatory attack by Hezbollah following an attack last week, which the group claimed Israel had carried out: Two explosive-laden drones hit a machine designed to improve precision missiles, which was being operated in Dahieh – a Hezbollah stronghold in Beirut. The Israeli defense establishment assessed that Hezbollah would try to retaliate but would react moderately; the army minimized patrols along the borders with Lebanon and Syria in order to avoid presenting possible targets for the group to attack.

Pompeo: U.S. Will Give ‘Israel’ Diplomatic, Legal, And Military Resupply Support In Any War With Iran, However Long

In an interview Thursday with syndicated radio host Hugh Hewitt, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo pledged that Israel can rely on diplomatic, legal, and military resupply aid in any war with Iran, however long.

HUGH HEWITT: I’m joined now by the United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo. Mr. Secretary, welcome back to the Hugh Hewitt Show.

MIKE POMPEO: Hugh, it’s great to be with you again. Hope you’re doing well.

HH: I’m doing well. Former Ambassador to the United States from Israel, Michael Oren, joined me earlier this morning. He sends along his warm hello. He talked about Israel being on the cusp of war with Iran, and that America’s tough policy and Iranians’ increasing recklessness leaves them vulnerable. And he said, I want to quote here, “the resupply of critical ammunition is going to be necessary, and that Israel will need a diplomatic and legal iron dome at the Security Council and the International Criminal Court if war breaks out.” Will Israel get that diplomatic and legal iron dome, Mr. Secretary?

MP: Look, we’ve been very clear about a couple of things that you just referred to. First, with respect to the Islamic Republic of Iran, we flipped the U.S. policy there. The previous administration guaranteed Iran a path to nuclear weapons systems, allowed them to foment terror, and allowed their missile system to run amok. President Trump has directed that we do just the opposite – to deny them the resources to create risks not only for the United States and its citizens, but for Israel as well. And we’ve been successful with that. And we’ve also been incredibly supportive each time Israel has been forced to take actions to defend itself, the United States has made it very clear that that country has not only the right but the duty to protect its own people. And we are always supportive of their efforts to do that. So with respect to ensuring that Israel is treated fairly at the United Nations, Israel can certainly count on the United States of America.

HH: I know it’s not your writ. It belongs to your colleague over at the Pentagon. Will they get the ammunition resupply that happened when Nixon sent it on the Yom Kippur war? Do you think the President would resupply the ammunition they need?

MP: We’re constantly in conversations about that, making sure that we collectively have defense systems capabilities that are appropriate for their needs. I have every confidence this president who moved our embassy and who made clear Israel’s rights in the Golan Heights will do all that is necessary to ensure that our great partner in Israel will be protected.

“THE PALESTINIANS CHEERED” HOAX ‘ Video’

NO THEY DIDN’T

WHO SET THIS UP?

It was one of the most successful hoaxes of 9/11, so much so that one presidential candidate swore he saw it.

What he saw was a well engineered hoax run on the American people with such speed, it’s hard to believe it wasn’t pre-planned.

While the Twin Towers were still burning, someone in Palestine closed off a single block and started handing out candy and other gifts to unsuspecting people on the street.

In exchange, they were told to clap their hands and cheer, sort of like the silly things that go on on the US TV show “The Price is Right”.

This video was then rushed to NYC network television newsrooms and played over and over again with the caption: “Palestinians cheer 9/11”

Afterwards, the handful of people who’d been duped in this way expressed horror. They knew nothing about the attacks.

Look at the logistics here.

Someone had to:

1. Come up with the plan in the first place
2. Close down a street without pissing off local law enforcement
3. Arrange the services of a news quality videographer
4. Get the video to all the television networks
5. Convince the networks to even look at it, let alone air it repeatedly
6. Get away scot-free after running this hoax without being identified

That’s some fast thinking and fast action.

At a minimum it was a despicable fraud. At a maximum it was something much more sinister.
