America the Repugnant. Assassinating Foreign Leaders Is an Act of War

By Philip Giraldi

Global Research,

US

Once upon a time there was a Constitution of the United States. In Article II, Section 2 it stipulated that only the U.S. Congress has the power to declare war, which means the American president has to go to the legislative body and make a case for going to war against an enemy or enemies. If there is a vote in favor of war, the president is empowered as commander-in-chief to direct the available resources against the enemy.

There is also something called international law. Under international law there are situations in which a head of state or head of government can use military force defensively or even preemptively if there is a substantial threat that is imminent. But normally, a country has to go through a procedure similar to that in the U.S. Constitution, which means making a case that the war is justified before declaring war. The Nuremberg Tribunals ruled that starting a war of aggression is the ultimate crime.

The president has already declared that he needs no approval from Congress or from anyone else to initiate further military operations against Iran in the Middle East, even if the action taken is “disproportionate.” Meanwhile he, the State Department and the Pentagon are all stating, without presenting any evidence at all to the public, that Iranian Major General Qassem Soleimani was planning attacks that would kill “hundreds of Americans” as a casus belli justifying his assassination. The White House is also asserting that the killing was done to “stop a war,” which makes no sense even coming from the addled tweet-conditioned brain of Donald J. Trump. And if one still harbors suspicions that Trump might actually be of sound mind, it is possible to listen to him on the day after the assassination while speaking to a gathering of his supporters at an evangelical church in Florida. He told the cheering crowd that “God is on our side” and that Soleimani “…was planning a very major attack, and we got him.” The audience went wild in approval, chanting “four more years.”Trump’s Mass Deception on Iran

Such chest beating moments of pretend strong leadership coming from president bone spurs as well as similar justifications for an assassination that will be surfacing over the next few days simply do not pass the smell test. Take the window dressing away from the Pentagon and media propaganda and all one has left is that the United States illegally and openly killed a senior official from a country with which it is not at war and did so without the consent of the third country where the assassination took place with which the U.S. is also not at war. The assassination was not in reality based on any imminent threat and is therefore illegal under international law and is undeniably an unconstitutional act of war directed against both Iran and Iraq.

What is particularly bizarre about Trump-think on this issue is that the assassination was carried out right in the open in a country with which the United States has had of late a friendly relationship and which allows American soldiers to be based on its soil. Judging from the crowds of protesters gathered in Baghdad to protest the killing, that somewhat comfortable arrangement is about to end. And it will also end American involvement in neighboring Syria, which will be unsustainable without a presence in Iraq. That is the only good news to come out of the assassination.

To be sure nations at war will try and sometimes succeed to assassinate enemy leaders, and the intelligence services of various countries also have been known to kill foreign politicians who are considered to be threatening. America’s best friend Israel leads the world in that statistic. But spy agencies work their mischief on a basis of plausible denial, which means that the countries that carry out assassinations make every effort to obscure their role and permit deniability.

The difference in what the White House has done now is that another page has been turned in the process of the United States going completely rogue. It all started when George W. Bush warned that “you’re either with us or against us.” Barack Obama subsequently labored over his Tuesday morning kill lists, which included American citizens, and the Trump White House has now expanded that license, asserting that it can act with complete impunity and out in the open to kill anyone at any time anywhere without due process or any actual demonstrated cause or accountability.

Donald Trump should be aware that there is considerable downside to the tiger than he has let out of its cage. What will he do if “enemies” all over the world decide to copy the Trump example and kill American diplomats, soldiers and tourists because they oppose U.S. policies. And what about if they up the ante a little bit and kill senior Ambassadors, Congressmen, and even succeed in killing a presidential cabinet member or two. Trump in his foolishness has invited reciprocity and has even granted those who do the killing a certain immunity if they are claiming that they are doing it to stop something worse, i.e. war.

Finally, if the target of the assassination had been anyone but an Iranian, Israel’s enemy, one can count on there being hell to pay with Congress and the media over Trump’s having gone completely off the rails. Assassinating a foreign leader as a new United States government policy has to be an impeachable offense. Forget about obstruction of justice and collusion with foreigners: assassination is the real deal and if it does not constitute a high crime, it is hard for one to imagine what does. By all means let’s impeach Trump based on what he has actually done, not on speculation over what he might have connived at.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has repeatedly justified the U.S. “extreme pressure” directed against Tehran, demanding that Islamic Republic take steps to become a “normal country.” The real question should be, “When will the United States of America become normal?”

3,000 Billion Dollars into the Bottomless Well of Afghanistan

By Manlio Dinucci

Global Research,

In the London Declaration, the 29 member countries of NATO reaffirmed “the engagement for the security and long-term stability of Afghanistan”. One week later, on the basis of the Freedom of Information Act, (used to empty a number of aging skeletons out of the closets, according to political necessity), the Washington Post managed to force the declassification of 2,000 pages of documents which reveal that “US civil servants fooled the public about the war in Afghanistan”. Basically, they hid its disastrous effects, including the economic effects, of a war which has been dragging on for 18 years.

The most interesting data that emerge are those concerning the economic costs. 1,500 billion dollars have been spent for military operations, a figure that “remains opaque” – or in other words, underestimated – no-one knows how much the secret services have spent on the war, or the real cost of the contractors, the mercenaries recruited for the war (currently about 6,000).

Since “the war was financed with borrowed money”, the accrued interest has risen to 500 billion, which brings the total expenditure to 2,000 billion dollars. To this must be added other posts – 87 billion for the training of Afghan forces, 54 billion for “reconstruction”, of which a large part was “lost to corruption and failed projects”. At least 10 billion more were spent for the “struggle against narco-trafficking”, with the triumphant result of a strong increase in the production of opium – today Afghanistan supplies 80 % of the heroin on the world market. Here’s What You’ll Pay for Neocon Wars: $5,900,000,000,000

With the interests which continue to accumulate, (in 2023 they will rise to 600 billion), and the cost of the operations currently under way, expenditure easily overtakes 2,000 billion. We also need to consider the cost of medical assistance for the veterans returning from the war with serious or invalidating wounds. So far, 350 billion dollars have already been spent for those who fought in Afghanistan or Iraq, and this sum will rise to 1,400 billion dollars over the next 40 years. Since half of this sum is spent for veterans of Afghanistan, the cost of the war for the US is more than 3,000 billion dollars.

After 18 years of war, and an unquantifiable number of civilian victims, the results at the military level are as follows – “the Talibans control a major part of the country, and Afghanistan remains one of the greatest sources of refugees and migrants”. The Washington Post therefore concludes that the declassified documents reveal “the brutal reality of the errors and failures of the American effort to pacify and rebuild Afghanistan”.

In this way the prestigious news outlet, which explains the way in which US civil servants have “fooled the public”, now fools the public once again by presenting the war as “the American effort to pacify and rebuild Afghanistan”. The true goal of the war in Afghanistan waged by the USA, in which NATO has been participating since 2003, is the control of this region, which is of capital strategic importance – at the crossroads between the Middle East, Central, Southern and Eastern Asia , particularly taking into account the proximity of Russia and China.

Italy is also participating in this war, under US command, since in October 2002 Parliament authorised the delivery of a first military contingent as from March 2003. The cost for Italy, paid from the public treasury, as is the case in the USA, is estimated to be approximately 8 billion Euros, to which must be added various other costs. In order to convince the population, hard hit by cuts in social expenditure, that further sums are necessary for Afghanistan, they are told that the money is used to guarantee better living conditions for the Afghan people. And the Brothers of the Sacro Convento of Assisi handed President Mattarella “San Francesco’s Lamp of Peace”, thereby recognising that “Italy, with its missions and its soldiers, collaborates actively in the promotion of peace everywhere in the world”.

Are US Taxpayers Forcibly Subsidizing Synagogues?

In 2014, the Jewish Daily Forward reported that the Department of Homeland Security allocated to Jewish institutions $12 million, or 94 percent, of $13 million in funds for securing nonprofits.By Jonas E. Alexis -December 20, 201961579

…by Jonas E. Alexis and Henry Makow

Henry Makow has a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Toronto in 1982 and is the author of best-selling books such as Cruel Hoax: Feminism & New World Order and Illuminati: The Cult that Hijacked the World.

Jonas E. Alexis: The “Holocaust” has always been used as a weapon. In fact, it has been used as a manipulation tool to seduce the masses both in academic circles and in the media. As we have pointed out in the past, Jewish historian Tim Cole of the University of Bristol, England, has written extensively on this very issue. The title of Cole’s study is Selling the Holocaust: From Auschwitz to Schindler—How History is Bought, Packaged and Sold.[1]

Jewish scholar Norman Finkelstein argues that there is a “Holocaust Industry” out there, a machine which constantly produces lies and fabrications as historical facts. The same machine is also in the business of sacking billions upon billions of dollars from banks around Europe in the name of Holocaust reparation.[2] So there is an ideological purpose to keep the Holocaust Industry alive and well. But it is not just the Holocaust that is financially draining America and much of the West. Henry Makow has more to say about this.

Henry Makow: Almog Peretz wounded during a shooting at a suburban San Diego synagogue in April is suing Chabad of Poway.[3] Peretz says that the synagogue did not have proper security despite a rise in anti-Semitic attacks nationally and that it did not use a $150,000 grant to upgrade security. In their defence, Chabad said, “The grant we were approved for did not cover security guards.”

Are these grants another way ZOG USA favors the Chosen?

“Chabad of Poway received $150,000 from the government in March because the synagogue “believed that it was at risk of an anti-Semitic attack on its congregants,” according to the suit. But on the day of the attack, court documents show, the building’s doors were unlocked and no guards, gates or other security measures were in place.

The lawsuit references a 2014 ruling in which the California branch of the Hasidic Jewish movement Chabad-Lubavitch was found to have misused federal funds meant for security upgrades and was forced to pay $844,985 to the government in damages and returned funds.”

In 2014, the Jewish Daily Forward reported that the Department of Homeland Security allocated to Jewish institutions $12 million, or 94 percent, of $13 million in funds for securing nonprofits.[4] The $13 million disbursed last week brings to $151 million the amount disbursed since the program started in 2005, most of it to Jewish institutions.

Jews receive 94% of grants despite the fact that in the last 50 years, over a hundred black churches have been firebombed. Not one US synagogue has been burned down.

In 2019, at least three black churches were the target of arson. In 2015, nine African Americans (including the senior pastor, state senator Clementa C. Pinckney) were murdered by Dylann Roof, left, during a Bible study at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Three victims survived. This church is one of the oldest black churches in the United States, and it has long been a center for organizing related to civil rights.

There have been two shootings at US synagogues, Poway and Pittsburg. The Tree of Life – Or L’Simcha Congregation[a] in the Squirrel Hill neighborhoods of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The congregation was attacked during Shabbat morning services. The shooter killed eleven people and wounded six. It was the deadliest attack on the Jewish community in the United States.

As political tensions increase, it’s inevitable that churches and synagogues will become targets of fanatics. The question is, should these institutions pay for their own security? And if the government does, shouldn’t it be more equitable?

Syrian Army Launched Large-Scale Advance In Idlib, Su-57 Jets Deployed

By South Front

Russia’s Su-57 fifth-generation fighter jets have successfully passed the second stage of testing in Syria, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov revealed. During the second stage of testing in Syria, the Su-57s completed all the planned tasks. No further details were provided. In February 2018, two Su-57 fighter jets were temporarily deployed in Syria, where they passed combat tests. The second stage of the testing likely took place in 2019.

Meanwhile, the Russian Navy and the Syrian Armed Forces have held joint naval and coastal defense drills in the eastern Mediterranean. The drills involved the Russian Naval group deployed in the region, aircraft from the Hmeimim airbase and forces of the Syrian Navy and Coast Guard. The sides practiced fighting unmanned aerial vehicles, illegal armed groups, as well as working on localization and elimination of consequences of attacks on the port of Tartus.

Clashes between the Syrian Army and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham took place near the villages of Tamana, Zaitun, Umm Khalahil and Zarzur in Idlib province. A battle tank, an armored vehicle and 3 vehicles equipped with weapons belonging to militants were destroyed, according to the Russian military.

Pro-militant sources claim that during the past two days the Syrian Air Force and the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out over 100 strikes on positions of militants along the M5 highway. Pro-government sources describe these strikes as preparations for the ground operation.

On December 19, reports appeared that representatives of the Turkish intelligence met with leaders of Hayat Tahrir al-Shan and the National Front for Liberation warning them that Turkey has not reached with Russia a final agreement on Idlib and they should prepare to repel the advance of the Syrian Army.

Late on December 19, the Syrian Army kicked off a ground advance in southern Idlib attacking militants’ positions in Umm Jalal. Clashes are ongoing.

Afghanistan: Time for America’s Pedophile Occupation to End

Honorable Gary Peters
U.S. Senate
Member of Armed Services Committee
Hart Senate Office Building
Suite 724
Washington, DC 20510

RE: The Congressional Committees Needs to Investigate Systemic Corruption in Afghanistan

Dear Senator Peters:

On numerous occasions, I’ve sent you, the Ethics Committee, the U.S. Department of State and other representatives numerous letters highlighting war crimes and corruption in Afghanistan. The Washington Post has recently published an in-depth expose revealing the significant levels of corruption, waste of U.S. taxpayer dollars and war crimes in Afghanistan which I previously noted to you and others.

As a senator, you have a responsibility to address these matters. Trillions of U.S. Taxpayer dollars have been wasted, hundreds of thousands of lives lost in this war, and a country ravaged by corruption and drug trafficking. It is a war that cannot be won. As an elected representative of the people, it is paramount that you take action on these matters so that the past 18 years will not be repeated. Please see my attached letters to the Ethics Committee.

As an American citizen and ethnic Afghan, I welcome the peace talks in Qatar to end the Afghan war. However, it is evident that there are fundamental issues with the process, which could cause a repeat of the past 18 years.

Three aspects which need to be addressed are as follows:

(1) I believe that the Trump administration’s announcement that the United States will withdraw 4,000 troops is misleading. During these past 18 years, the United States and its allies have utilized thousands of private contractors/mercenaries to fight its war. Those 4,000 troops will be replaced with paramilitary forces, primarily foreign contractors who have terrible human rights records and have war crimes, which have been well documented by organizations such as UNAMA and Human Rights Watch.

The United States has promoted terrorism by funding and by the CIA’s training of paramilitary “death squads” like the National Directorate of Security (“NDS 01” and “NDS 02”) Khost Protection Forces (“KPF”), Kandahar Strike Forces and many other CIA militias, who are targeting and assassinating innocent Afghan villagers, peace activists, journalists, and Afghan intellectuals (See the U.S. budget for these terrorist groups, which you approved). Unfortunately, this information has not been disclosed to the American people.

HRW.ORG:  Abusive Night Raids by CIA-Backed Afghan Strike Forces

(2) As a part of this strategy, the current administration is forging even stronger ties with corrupt Afghan politicians who have stolen billions of U.S. taxpayer funds and war criminals such as Abdul Rashid Dostum and Asadullah Khalid. Both have well-documented track records of human rights violations.

a. Abdul Rashid Dostum is a documented war criminal. He was the subject of articles in Time magazine and Newsweek. As reported in the Time on November 19, 2001, and in Newsweek, on November 5, 2001, Dostum and his group raped many Afghan women and children, “…Dostum’s marauders chopped off breasts and tied the toes of women behind their heads..” Instead of prosecuting this criminal, my U.S. government ignores his war crimes, supports and keeps him on the payroll.

The United States government needs to follow the rule of law and international law. Instead, it is covering up these war crimes and helping him commit new war crimes against the Afghan/Pashtun like recently in Faryab Province. In addition, the Afghan majority have not forgotten about the war crimes committed by Dostum against the Pashtun tribesmen in November 2001 at Dasht-e-Leili. Physicians for Human Rights and the New York Times have also extensively covered Abdul Rashid Dostum’s crimes: How disgusting that General Miller gave a medal to Rashid Dostum a war criminal and pedophile.

b. Asadullah Khalid is the current Defense Minister of the Afghan government. He has been implicated by Canadian officials for his extensive involvement in drug trafficking, sexual abuse and the murder of United Nations workers.

(3) The United States and its allies must stop the fraudulent election drama currently perpetuated. The brave Afghan majority did not participate. Before the results of the fraudulent election are announced by the Afghan Ghani administration, UNAMA is asking that the Afghan people respect the results. However, the people of Afghanistan did not participate in the recent Afghan election.

A very small percentage of the Afghan population participated as the Afghan villagers believe the elections are illegitimate when their country is occupied by foreigners. There can be no free and democratic elections when a country is occupied. Besides foreign occupation, the corruption and fraud in the election process make them a farce, which the Afghans realize. The majority of the Afghan villagers do not consider the Kabul puppet regime to be their government. Afghans need to control their own elections and decide their own governments. Rampant voter fraud over the past two elections has been well documented by news agencies as well as domestic experts such as Naval Postgraduate School’s own Professor Thomas H. Johnson.

The recent releases of documents by The Washington Post are just the tip of the iceberg of corruption and waste. Trillions of U.S. dollars have been wasted in Afghanistan on waging war and the interference in Afghan elections. During the past decade, I have sent hundreds of letters to my U.S. Congressmen, the U.S. Department of State, the Ethics Committee and the media especially to Ms. Karen DeYoung of The Washington Post, requesting that the war crimes, drug trafficking, corruption, and fraud be exposed to the American public, investigated, those responsible prosecuted and the U.S. end its war in Afghanistan.

I did not receive responses and nothing was done. After eighteen years, the U.S. government and “selected” corrupt, puppet Afghan administrations, who consist of war profiteers, warlords, drug traffickers and communist war criminals like Rashid Dostum have not been able to win the war in Afghanistan. U.S. war policy and war strategy need to change to a “sincere” negotiation strategy for peace. Peace cannot be achieved with the increase or continuance of the same number of U.S. troops on the ground in Afghanistan as desired by the war profiteers. I only want true peace for the American and Afghan people. This cycle of war cannot continue. I believe it is my patriotic duty to always support the U.S. Constitution, but to question the policies and strategies of those U.S. government officials in power at the time when it is harming the United States in the long term.

Now we are at a critical juncture where peace can finally be accomplished, saving thousands of lives and U.S. taxpayer dollars. I strongly recommend the inclusion of educated Afghans from across the globe, who have not profited from this war, to be utilized as a bridge for peace. During these past 18 years, only the war profiteers have testified and been involved. Congress and its committees need to hear from them. Hence, I ask you for your help so that this ugly war can end in an honorable way for the United States and Afghanistan and true peace can be achieved in Afghanistan.

Sincerely,
Kadir A. Mohmand

CC: U.S. Department of State, and Congressional Ethics Committees

March 22, 2017

To the Honorable Johnny Isakson, U..S. Senator

Chairman of the Senate Ethics Committee
220 Hart Building
United States Senate
Washington, D.C. 20510

RE: Senator John McCain, Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Senator Lindsey Graham and Senator Tom Cotton has a conflict of interest in Afghanistan

Dear Chairman Isakson:

I strongly believe that the Senate Ethics Committee needs to investigate whether or not Senator John McCain, Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Senator Lindsey Graham and Senator Tom Cotton has a conflict of interest problems because his wife, Mrs. Cindy Hensley McCain’s businesses profit from the war in Afghanistan. In addition, it has been reported by Afghan media, Afghan individuals and other western media that intelligence services such as the CIA and MI6 are involved in drug trafficking in Afghanistan. It has also been alleged that some U.S. Senators, who sit on the Senate Armed Services Committee, are profiting from drug trafficking such as through the provision of necessary chemicals to convert the raw opium to heroin. It appears that Senator McCain tries to keep an arm’s length distance from his wife’s war profits to try to shield himself from conflict of interest problems. However, since Senator McCain is presently serving as Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee I strongly believe that the ethics committee should investigate these allegations.

It is time that the American and Afghan people stand up and request investigations regarding the funding of the so-called “ISIL” fighters in Afghanistan. I believe individuals such as U.S. Senator John McCain are obstacles to peace in Afghanistan because of the war profiteering in his family. When I was in Afghanistan I heard that some top U.S. government officials were profiteering from the war and drug trafficking in Afghanistan.

I believe a lot more investigation needs to be done regarding who is involved and who is profiting from the war and drug trafficking. I think the world would be surprised to learn who the profiteers are. In 2000/2001 the production of drugs in Afghanistan was almost zero, but after the U.S. invasion and during the occupation and war, Afghanistan has become a narco-state. Some independent investigators need to find out who or which companies, agencies or governments brought the chemicals and the process to convert opium to heroin to Afghanistan.

On April 6, 2012, when I met with the U.S. State Department’s Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Frank Ruggiero, I asked him if Secretary Hillary Clinton knew about our meeting. He said yes the decision-makers know too. Did I say, President Obama? He said no the decision-makers. Who are the real decision-makers regarding the continuation of the war in Afghanistan? It looks like it is the Pentagon, war profiteers and the Pentagon’s RAND Corporation!?.

On October 6, 2015, and Oct 8, 2015, General John Campbell, Commander of the U.S. Forces in Afghanistan, testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee and House Armed Services on military operations and U.S. strategy in Afghanistan, the sexual abuse of Afghan children, as well as the recent U.S. bombing of the Doctors Without Borders hospital. General John Campbell was the only one to testify at these hearings which were just the same old propaganda and rosy picture of the past 14 years in Afghanistan created by the Rand Corporation advisers as updated by General Campbell. These hearings were conducted to create a record for the next U.S. planned step of vacating the plan to draw down troops to the normalized embassy level by 2017 to move forward with the desired plan of increasing troop levels to implement the United States’ real agenda of maintaining a long term presence in Afghanistan.

Throughout the hearings, General Campbell testified that the United States needs extended troop commitment and a long term presence in Afghanistan. As reasons for staying long term, General Campbell testified that Afghanistan is “a vital area in the world”. It is located in a neighborhood that does not follow rules. He further stated that “presence equals influence”. He testified that if the United States was not there long term other countries such as China and Russia would be. The United States needs long term presence in the region and Afghanistan is the Heart of Central Asia. As I stated many times in the past after the fall of the Soviet Union and the world had one superpower, the United States determined that its new outer defense perimeter would not be in Europe along the former Warsaw Pact countries’ borders, but it would be in Central Asia with Afghanistan being the heart. Thus, the building of permanent military bases in Afghanistan to form this so-called outer defense perimeter is one of the true reasons the U.S. wants to be in Afghanistan long term. It really is not about terrorism. In order to justify to the American people this long term presence, the United States must keep feeding the American public with the appearance of terrorism in Afghanistan and must continue the CIA’s divide and conquer policy to create an Afghan Resistance.

To stay long term, the United States must continue to destabilize Afghanistan. In fact, at the Senate Armed Services Committee’s hearing, General John Campbell stated that the United States would “continue the effort to destabilize Afghanistan…” (emphasis added). After his Freudian slip which revealed the truth, he corrected himself and said stabilize. If Afghanistan continues to be unstable with active Afghan resistance and Americans are spooked into believing Al Qaeda and Daish are there, then it will be easy for the U.S. government to justify to the American public its long term presence with its expenditure of trillions of dollars, which only benefit the war profiteers. I strongly believe the fact is the United States does not want stability and peace in Afghanistan because if there are peace and stability it is much harder to justify its long term presence.

Once again, Chairman McCain and Chairman Thornberry stated in their opening remarks that Afghanistan must not be allowed ever again to become a safe haven or sanctuary for terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda and ISIL. General Campbell alleged that Daish was in Afghanistan and Al Qaeda was trying to rebuild. There was no direct evidence offered to support these allegations. These allegations are false. Furthermore, both Senator McCain and Representative Thornberry alleged that there had been considerable progress made in Afghanistan these past 14 years because no further terrorist attacks on the homeland had originated from Afghanistan. The tragic 9/11 terrorist attack did not originate from Afghanistan so why would it be an indicator of the progress that no other terrorist attack has originated from there.

As history has shown, Afghans do not attack countries outside Afghanistan’s borders. Afghans only defend themselves against foreign invaders and occupiers inside Afghanistan. There has never been any direct evidence that Afghans were involved in the tragic 9/11 attacks. It is just the opposite. The United States government used the 9/11 attack as an opportunity to further its goal of obtaining military bases in Afghanistan, the heart of Central Asia, to establish its new outer defense perimeter.

The Afghan people have been scapegoated and terrorized by the United States, NATO, its corrupt puppet partners, and its agents/ hundreds of thousands of contracted mercenaries. Afghan civilians have been victimized twice by communist war criminals such as Rashid Dostum, who is the First Vice President of Afghanistan, and who’s supported and funded by the U.S. At the House Armed Services Committee’s hearing, even Representative Loretta Sanchez stated in her question to General Campbell that Al Qaeda was in Yemen, Sudan and other countries but not Afghanistan. There is really almost no likelihood that Afghanistan will be a sanctuary for Arab terrorists. There is no evidence that ISIL and Daish are in Afghanistan.

Just like during the 1980s, Afghans do not want Arab fighters in their country. In the winter of 1984, while I was fighting the Soviets and Afghan communists in Afghanistan (see my photos), I told the U.S. government that Afghans do not want CIA training camps in Afghanistan training Arabs like Osama Bin Laden. Yet the United States had a 150 million dollar budget for these CIA training camps. I ask you who is responsible for training these Arabs the CIA or Afghanistan?

In addition, when I met with Abdullah Abdullah in September 2012 in Afghanistan after showing me his extremely expensive gold watch, he bragged that he was in charge of the mercenaries. I have known Abdullah since childhood. Furthermore, I have been told from reliable sources on the ground in Afghanistan that any so-called Daish is really hired mercenaries and thugs paid by the CIA with huge amounts of drug trafficking money. Any “so-called” DAESH, ISIL ISIS, fighters in Afghanistan are really CIA and MI6 contracted thugs. The former, governor of Paktika Abdul Karim Mateen, admitted that the Afghan government paid several hundred thousand dollars for these mercenaries and thugs, which are the Daish. He was removed from his position right after that comment.

So I ask you who the real “terrorists” are in Afghanistan? Who are they paid to terrorize? It is not the U.S. homeland they terrorize, but instead, they are hired to terrorize Afghans, who reside in areas such as Helmand Province with vast deposits of Rare Earth Elements (REEs), which are worth trillions and vital components of defense and technology systems. It is an intentional and systematic targeting of civilians especially Pashtun in the REE rich areas. As history has shown, these Afghans, mainly Pashtun, in Helmand, fight for their independence, their land and now their REEs. They are the main roadblock to easy access and control of these REEs.

What is the United States’ desired long term presence in Afghanistan really about? It is all about REEs!!! The continuation of the instability and war with permanent U.S. military bases allows the United States to control Afghanistan’s Rare Earth Elements (REEs) such as lithium, worth trillions, which are vital to defense systems and technology. It allows the United States to build its strategic stockpile of REEs. In a Pentagon internal memorandum, the Pentagon called Afghanistan “the Saudi Arabia of Lithium”. REEs such as Scandium, Yttrium and fifteen lanthanides are key ingredients in a number of military applications such as guided missiles, lasers, radar systems, night field equipment, battlefield communications, guidance, and control systems for Tomahawk Cruise missiles, smart bombs, predator unmanned aircraft, etc..

The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) is establishing a strategic stockpile of these REEs as it has an insufficient supply to meet its demand.. China has mined REEs in its country and has dominance as the main supplier of REEs that are of strategic importance to the U.S. military. China controls 90% of the world’s supply. According to petroleumnews.com ( 03/31/2013), U.S. Senators Mark Begich and Lisa Murkowski, and Representative Mike Coffman, stated that”’ clearly rare earth supply limitations present a serious vulnerability to our national security…” The U.S. DOD provided Congress with a written report on its REE demand and stockpile requirements.

The United States was looking for a new supply chain for REEs. Based on the information I have received, I strongly believe the United States knew about the REEs deposits in the Helmand Province even before the tragic events of 9/11 and before it chose to invade and occupy Afghanistan long term. Soon after its invasion in October 2001, the United States dropped down geologists into the REE deposits in Helmand with special operation forces.

The U.S. has used special aircraft with special technology to look at the subsurface geological strata to map out the location of REE deposits in Afghanistan. The DOD has a special division to address REEs. Afghan villages located near the vast REE deposits are bombed and destroyed. The Pashtun villagers are forced to relocate or are killed. They are wrongly labeled “terrorists” because they resist the destruction of their homes and villages and the stealing of their minerals.

I believe the U.S. and its Afghan puppet government are committing war crimes. They are terrorizing the Afghans in these areas. In September 2012, when I met with Amb. Hugo Llorens, second in charge of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, he talked about the REE deposits. He thought because of my engineering background I would be interested in obtaining a contract to be involved in REE mining. I am not a war profiteer. I would not profit from war and the blood of my Afghan brothers.

It is all about U.S. control of the REEs. It is all about Afghanistan being the United States’ new supply chain for REEs! It is not about nation-building. It is not about terrorism! It is not about helping the Afghan people! A former State Department employee, who worked on the ground in Afghanistan, told me in an e-mail that the U.S. government does not care about Afghans.

So please U.S. government officials and elected congresspeople, cut the crap that you care about the Afghan women, children and the rest of the Afghan people. Have courage and tell the truth. It is all about Afghanistan’s REEs! Of course, REEs are never discussed at the hearings of the armed services committees because control of Afghanistan’s REEs is the main reason the U.S. invaded Afghanistan, why it occupies it, why it has 9 permanent military bases there, why it installs a puppet government, why it has communist war criminals and thugs in the Afghan government like Rashid Dostum to terrorize and kill Afghans who resist ( do the U.S.’s dirty work), and why it is so secretive about the REEs in Afghanistan.

It is much easier for the U.S. to keep its strategic stockpiling of Afghanistan’s REEs a secret. However, the United States really cannot hide the fact it bombed a hospital and killed civilians. General Campbell stated that it was a U.S. decision to bomb the Doctors Without Borders Hospital in Kunduz. He stated that there were U.S. special operation forces in the vicinity. General Campbell further stated that it was mistakenly bombed. Mistaken means based on error or wrong. The U.S. made a deliberate decision to bomb the hospital, which was based on an error. It intentionally bombed the hospital. It realized it was a mistake to do so after the fact.

General Campbell said rigorous U.S. procedures were used to make the decision to fire the weapons. I agree that the U.S. decision to bomb the hospital was wrong. General Campbell did not say that the U.S.’s bombing was accidental or collateral damage. I strongly believe that the U.S. bombing and killing of innocent civilians at the Doctors Without Borders Hospital in Kunduz is a war crime and a terrorist act. This bombing was intentional and not accidental “collateral” damage”. Before the bombing, Dr. Ehsan Osmani, who was a staff member at that hospital, reported on his FaceBook page on October 2, 2015, that the Afghan resistance did not harm anyone inside the hospital but the U.S. and NATO bombing was causing all of the civilian casualties and deaths. He openly denied and countered the United States and Afghan governments’ claims that the Taliban was causing all of the civilian casualties and deaths in Kunduz.

He was killed a few days later when the U.S. bombed the hospital. I believe this bombing was retaliation. I believe this hospital was targeted by the United States with its precision weapons. It definitely is a war crime that needs to be investigated by outside neutral sources and those responsible prosecuted in lawful tribunals including the leaders and decision-makers from the United States, Afghanistan, and NATO. This U.S. bombing is terrorism as it was violence directed toward civilians and civilian property instilling fear in Afghans, who oppose the U.S. and NATO occupation and the U.S. installed puppet government.

Not only are Afghanistan’s REEs being exploited, but even more importantly Afghanistan’s precious, vulnerable children are being sexually abused and sexually exploited in this 14 years long U.S. war and occupation. At the hearings, General Campbell stated that there are procedures to report sexual abuse and exploitation of Afghan children through the military chain of command. General Campbell stated that Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah find it unacceptable and there are Afghan laws. These procedures and laws are useless.

They look nice on paper but in reality, the United States is turning a blind eye to this rampant sexual abuse and exploitation of Afghan children. The U.S. government installs, trains, assists, advises, supports and funds the Afghan government in Kabul, the provincial governments, the local police, and Afghan military, which consist of many sick pedophiles such as the well known communist war criminal Rashid Dostum- First Vice President of Afghanistan, Salahuddin Rabbani, Afghan Foreign Minister- pimp and brothel house owner, Hanif Atmar, National Security Adviser, Amrullah Saleh secret service pimp and Bismillah Mohammadi. former Defense Minister. Many of the Northern Alliance warlords such as Mir Alam in Kunduz, the communist war criminals, and the drug traffickers and other thugs in the national and provincial governments are involved in this sexual exploitation and abuse of Afghan children ( See the linked videos). Many of these creeps are U.S. and coalition partners. They are supported and paid by the U.S. to do the “dirty work” for the U.S.

The sexual crimes they perpetrate on the Afghan children are ignored because the U.S. and the Afghan government want to keep them “happy”. The U.S. and Afghan governments keep and allow these criminals to be in positions of power. The U.S. and the Afghan government are responsible for these human rights violations and sexual crimes against children. There is a duty to report sexual abuse and prosecute criminals. There is a duty to ensure that these criminals do not have contact with Afghan children. For some professions, it is a crime not to report. Based on what has happened in Afghanistan these past 14 years, if you are a pedophile it looks like the best job to have would be a member of the Afghan government, be an Afghan cop or soldier in training, or be an American contractor or soldier in Afghanistan. How shameful, sick and sad.

It is not just some sick Afghans in positions of power committing this sexual abuse and exploitation of Afghan children, but some American contractors, diplomats and their consultants, and military are involved in these crimes. In 2012, Wiki Leaks (see Change.org) released a cable revealed that that U.S. taxpayer-funded, military contractor DynCorp has organized and paid for parties where young Afghan boys are made available for purchase as sex slaves. DynCorp trains Afghan police and security forces. DynCorp is a U.S. company from Texas.

This U.S. taxpayer-funded military contractor trafficked young Afghan boys for sex with cops and Afghan security forces in training. The former Afghan Minister of Interior, Hanif Atmar, presently Afghan National Security Adviser to Ghani, tried to quash this sexual abuse and exploitation from being made public. He even requested the United States government suppress it. Some DynCorp American employees sent visual depictions of the sexual abuse (child pornography) back to the United States.

DynCorp’s sexual exploitation of Afghan children is just one example of the rampant sexual exploitation of Afghan children. Almost all of the incidents are not revealed. They are ignored and/or suppressed by the U.S. and Afghan governments. When I was in Afghanistan in September 2012, I visited Endra Gandhi Hospital in Kabul. One of the doctors at the hospital told me that everyday young Afghan children are being admitted to the hospital. These children have been raped and sexually exploited.

These exploited children have come from Bagram and other bases and Rabbani brothel houses for foreigners. I do not want to reveal the doctor’s name in this letter for fear of retaliation against him by Afghans in power. I was told by many educated Afghan people that at night next to the palace in Kabul, Afghan children are bused by these Afghan pimps to military bases and brothels to be sold and used as sex slaves. When I returned to the U.S. I reported in writing this sexual exploitation to officials at the U.S. Department of State, to the Senate Armed Services Committee and other departments of the U.S. government. Thus far, I have not seen any actions being taken to stop this sexual abuse and exploitation of Afghan children.

I am strongly offended that the New York Times and some U.S government officials have said that sexual exploitation of children is part of the Afghan culture. That is not true. Sexual exploitation of children is not accepted and part of the Afghan culture. It is illegal and prohibited by Afghan law, Afghan culture-especially the Pashtunwali Code, and Islamic law. “Bacha Bazi”, boy play, is not a Pashto word. Before 1979, my father and family were in charge of the police and security forces in Afghanistan before the superpowers invaded, occupied and corrupted my homeland.

Rape and sexual exploitation of children were never tolerated and those crimes were severely punished. Sexual exploitation is rampant in Afghanistan these past 14 years of the U.S. war and occupation because the United States is installing and funding thugs and warlords at all levels of government to do its “dirty work”. Along with many other good educated Afghans, I have chosen not to be part of the Afghan government or become a contractor due to this U.S. funded sexual abuse and exploitation of thousands of Afghan children every day. The U.S. and Afghan governments and the U.S. funded military contractors want to keep these Afghan thugs and their own employees happy and foreign civilians and military happy with brothels. They are part of sexual exploitation. They all are responsible for these war crimes and human rights violations committed on Afghan children.

I strongly believe this war and occupation of Afghanistan must end now. The United States and NATO must leave Afghanistan. Then, Afghans themselves can prosecute the war criminals, who committed crimes from 1979 to the present, in lawful tribunals. Afghans have suffered enough these past four decades because of war and occupation. Afghan children have suffered enough. Stop killing and terrorizing Afghans.

Sincerely,

US’ Bernie Sanders calls Naziyahu a ‘racist’

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders delivers a speech during his first presidential campaign rally at Brooklyn College in New York, United States, 2 March 2019 [Atılgan Özdil/Anadolu Agency]December 20, 2019 at 11:49 am

US Senator Bernie Sanders, a leading candidate to be the Democratic presidential candidate, slammed Zionist Naziyahu as a “racist” yesterday.

According to reports, Senator Sanders (I-Vt.) made the remarks during a Democratic debate amongst 2020 presidential candidates that covered a wide number of issues.

When asked specifically about how he would manage relations with Israel and the Palestinians, Sanders struck a very different tone to many of the Democratic party mainstream.

“Israel has the right not only to exist, but to exist in peace and security,” said Sanders, noting how he had “lived in Israel as a kid” (a reference to his time on a kibbutz), and is “proudly Jewish”.

OPINION: The pro-Israel lobby is on the decline; let’s help it on its way

However, Sanders continued by declaring that “what US foreign policy must be about is not just being pro-Israel. We must be pro-Palestinian as well.”

The candidate added some biting criticism of the Israeli premier.

“We must understand that right now in Israel we have leadership who has been indicted for bribery, who, in my view, is a racist,” said Sanders, referring to Netanyahu’s corruption charges.

Sanders’s position on ‘Israel’ is often seen as a reflection of his own base, which includes activists and party members drawn from the left-wing of the Democratic party, where criticism of ‘Israel’, and support for Palestinians, have both increased in recent years.

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism – World without Terrorism

[ Editor’s Note: Iran’s citizen anti-terrorism efforts get zero coverage in the West, probably because they are supported by such a wide cross section of the community that there is no easy way to spin their efforts as some kind of extremist Muslim plot. Hence the new coverage blackout, but not here at VT.

We have a lot of sympathy for blackout victims, as NEO contacted us today that Gordon’s last article, America’s Pyramid of Lies was being blocked in the US, UK, and EU for part of the day…just that single article. Welcome to the club.

What we also see going on with our Iran anti-terrorism partners is a major cross-generational approach to weave their terrorism victimization history into their cultural. They know if they do not do this, the younger generations will not be able to carry the torch when their time comes.

Imam Reza Shrine, Mashad, Iran — Jim Dean archives

We are aging, and we see slim pickings among the millennials for carrying a candle for any VT issues.

Does anyone want to ask how many invitations key VT people have received to speak at a US university campus in the last decade, including all the liberal ones? How about zero.

We are not without friends in high places, but they often have to be “quiet friends” due to their positions. As one security group said about us, “What we like about you guys is that you are everything that General Flynn is not.”

The 9-11 survivors’ families were the most heavily compensated of any group so far, and their voice has disappeared, even though the official 9-11 commission story has been shredded like New Year’s Eve confetti in Times Square. The Iranians have done more with less for their victims’ families, and we salute their efforts… Jim W. Dean ]

Jani Hezarroudi, ADVT correspondent

Terrorism is a vicious phenomenon which is recruited by the dominant powers and endangers peace and security of human society with a continuous violence and made peace building impossible.

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism (ADVT) Public Relations – Expert meeting “World without Terrorism” was held in Andisheh conference hall at Islamic Azad University of Gorgan on 16 December 2019.

The meeting was organized by ADVT office in Golestan Province in cooperation with Islamic Azad University, Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs of the province and was attended by security and political deputy of the Provincial Government, and executive director of women affairs of Provincial Government.

Additional contributors included the director of Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs of the province, figures of the province, the crippled and families of the victims of the province, and students on the occasion of the International Day of World without Violence.

Farideh Jani Hezarroudi, officer of ADVT office at Golestan said “Terror and terrorism are the most challenging issues of the world today and serious threats to global peace and security. This vicious phenomenon, which is recruited by the dominant powers, endangers peace and security of human society with a continuous violence and made peace building impossible.”

She added that “One of the most important goals of terrorist attacks is to create insecurity and horror in human society. The presence of victims of terrorism and their families in raising the awareness of the public opinion at national and international level plays an important role in revealing the real nature of the terrorist groups which are pursuing their inhumane acts by abusing human rights concepts.”

Hojjat al-Eslam Seyed Ali Taheri, the president of Islamic Azad University of Gorgan stated “We live in a world where politicians of hegemonic states strive to distort the realities of the world for their own interests.” He continued “Although Islam is considered as a peaceful religion, many efforts have been made to accuse this religion of terrorism, while Muslims, especially the Iranian people, have suffered the most in the past few decades.”

The president of Islamic Azad University of Gorgan said “Hegemonic powers seeks to increase the cost for independent countries and put the stigma of terrorism on Islamic nations by backing terrorist groups such as ISIS.

But this shame is still evident in their inhumane policies. Today, there is no one in the country who is unaware of the crimes of the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (hypocrites). The young generation must know how we made effort for the Islamic Revolution until now.

Son of the martyr of terrorism said “We must narrate these crimes of the hypocrites for the society and commemorate the families of the martyrs and the victims of terrorism. The young generation of today are the future leaders of the country, and such scientific meetings on the martyrs of terrorism should continue for raising the awareness of the society.”

In another part of the meeting, Ms. Ehsaneh Ahmadi Golsefidi, university lecturer of psychology argued that “Terrorism and its motivation are very important and according to the hierarchy we can divide the roots of terrorism into the physiological needs, the need for safety, the need for belonging, the need for respect, and the need for self-healing, respectively.

What we are looking at is the psychological consequence of terrorism, that is, fear, and this fear today is so pervasive that it cannot be defined geographically. The purpose of terror, as the word itself implies, is to terrorize and spread fear among the people. For this goal, the terrorists target the civilians, and the selection of these targets will cause anxiety among the people.”

The university lecturer pointed out “The message of terrorism is clear and the terrorist wants to say that anyone can be targeted anywhere and anytime, and this is what increases the anxiety of terrorist acts.

Dr Ahmadi concluded “Causes such as the role of personality disorder, disruption of thinking, lack of satisfaction of biological and psychological needs are some of the reasons people tend to commit terrorist acts.”

Ms. Alizadeh, professor of international law at university said “In modern international law, peace can only be achieved when international security is emphasized globally and extensively at international level for preventing violence and extremism.”

She continued “Regarding the new concept of peace, approaches have also changed. The obligation to maintain peace and to try to prevent violence and extremism based on the modern definition of the international community is not only the responsibility of governments, but also of other international actors, such as international organizations, real and legal persons and parties.”

In the end, Dr. Alizadeh pointed out that today, after the wars the world faces challenges with terrorism which plays a crucial role as a main threat in the world.

Israfil Vaziri, Director of Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs in Golestan County said: Terrorism is a challenge before Islamic Republic of Iran is from its onset.

He referred to the session of “World without Terrorism” and added that branch of the Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism in Golestan, in cooperation with Islamic Azad University and Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs in Golestan, has managed this session.

It is a very good essay for answering the question of how we can extirpate violence from world and to evaluate effect of narratives of terror victims in convincing public opinion toward hindering the terrorism.

Nazi regime release two Syrian prisoners

The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported on Friday that the Nazi regime released two Syrian prisoners from their jail system.

Sadqi Al-Maqt, one of the prisoners released, was born in Majdal Shams in the Nazi occupied Golan Heights. He was sentenced in 2015 to 11 years in prison for espionage, treason and contacting a foreign agent working for Syria in times of war.

Al-Maqt has been arrested on several occasions by the Nazi regime in the past 15 years. Al-Maqt has become a national hero in Syria, with constant references to the prisoner in weekly broadcasts on state television.

The Nazi regime also announced the early release of Amal Abu Saleh, a Golan resident, who was to be imprisoned until 2023 for the murder of a Syrian who crossed the Nazi occupied Palestine 1948 border.

Nazi office of Naziyahu said that the release of the two men was a “goodwill gesture” after the Nazi regime recovered the remains of soldier Zachary Bomel, who had been missing since it invaded Lebanon in the summer of 1982.

Syrian Army’s Last Chance For Idlib Advance In 2019, War Report

The Syrian Army has finalized military preparations and is awaiting orders to launch a large-scale ground operation in Greater Idlib, according to reports by Syrian media. The operation will allegedly be aimed at liberating the militant-held part of the M5 highway.By South Front -December 19, 201902191

…from SouthFront

The Syrian Army has finalized military preparations and is awaiting orders to launch a large-scale ground operation in Greater Idlib, according to reports by Syrian media. The operation will allegedly be aimed at liberating the militant-held part of the M5 highway.

Together with the separation of terrorists from the so-called “moderate opposition”, the reopening of the highway is one the key terms of the Idlib de-escalation agreement. Nonetheless, diplomatic efforts and peaceful measures did not achieve enough progress and Greater Idlib remained the hotbed of the terrorism in the country.

If the Syrian Army wants to reopen the M5 highway, it will need to liberate Maarat al-Numan and Saraqib, two the biggest urban centers, in southern Idlib and several dozens of villages along the highway. Another obstacle is Turkish observation posts that were established in Greater Idlib in the framework of the de-escalation agreement. It was supposed that these observation posts would be used to observe the established ceasefire. However, Ankara also used them as a measure to limit the Syrian Army offensive into southern Idlib.

Reports on the new upcoming Syrian Army advance in southern Idlib came, when artillery units and warplanes of the Syrian military were carrying out intense airstrikes on militants’ positions along the M5 highway.

If this advance does not start by some reason, the area of Idlib will continue remaining one of the main sources of the terrorist threat in Syria.

In the interview with Asharq al-Awsat released on December 17, the Commander-in-Chief of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Mazloum Abdi said that the SDF should be a part of the Syrian national defense system. The SDF leader claimed that the SDF includes 80,000 fighters as well as 30,000 security personnel. He claimed that the SDF should remain in northeastern Syria and keep its command. Nonetheless, Abdi noted that the SDF could carry out its duty as a part of Syria’s armed forces.

When the SDF leader was asked about a possible political agreement with Damascus, Abdi said that such an agreement would require “more time and longer talks.”

In October, the SDF and the Damascus government reached a breakthrough agreement that allowed the deployment of the Syrian Army in the SDF-held area. However, the Kurdish group accepted the deal as a tactical measure only in order to rescue itself rom the Turkish-led attack on the region. So, it still sees itself as a kind of powerbroker in the region despite the fact that it lost most of its influence after the US-led coalition had de-facto abandoned the group.

Syria: 12 stronge Arguments Douma was a False Flag

Do we trust what we’ve been told about Douma?By VT Editors -December 19, 20191841 2

There have been many US military interventions that were based on lies. This is not a conspiracy theory. It is not some kooky blogger’s opinion. It is an extensively documented and indisputable fact.

Nothing has ever been done to address this extensively documented and indisputable fact. No laws were ever changed. No war crimes tribunals were ever held. No policies or procedures were ever revised. No one was ever even fired. No changes were implemented to prevent the Iraq deception from happening again, and, when it happened again, no changes were implemented to prevent the Libya deception from happening again.

When you make a mistake, you take measures afterward to ensure that you never make the same mistake again. When you do something on purpose, and you intend on doing it again, you do not take any such measures.

There is a large and growing body of evidence that we have been lied to about Syria to an extent and to a level of sophistication that may be historically unprecedented. One particular aspect of the US-centralized empire’s military involvement in that nation, the 2018 airstrikes by the US/UK/France alliance and the alleged chemical weapons incident which preceded it, has been subject to intense scrutiny ever since it took place. And with good reason: there are many pieces of evidence indicating that the Douma incident was staged to falsely implicate the Syrian government.

I don’t claim to know exactly who would have been involved in such staging and to what extent. It is technically possible, as the UK’s Admiral Lord West speculated at the time, that it was perpetrated independently by the vicious al-Qaeda-linked Jaysh al-Islam forces who’d been occupying Douma, a last-ditch attempt to provoke a Western military response that might save them from the brink of defeat at the hands of the surging Syrian Arab Army. Jaysh al-Islam has an established record of deliberately massacring civilians, and of using civilians as military leverage by locking them in cages on rooftops in strategic Douma locations to prevent airstrikes. The narrative management operation known as the White Helmets would also have been involved to some extent, and it’s very possible that Saudi Arabia, who backs Jaysh al-Islam, was involved as well.

Any number of other allied intelligence agencies could have also been involved to some degree (perhaps with the more expanded goal of ensuring continued US military commitment in Syria during an administration that is vocally opposed to it), and it’s unknown if anyone involved would have had direct contact with any part of any US government agency regarding any of this. All we know for sure is that there’s a growing mountain of evidence that the Syrian government was not involved and that this raises extremely important questions about (A) who really killed those civilians in Douma and (B) how seriously any future demands for military action should be taken from the US power alliance.

That mountain of evidence includes the following 12 items. Taken individually they are reason enough to be skeptical of the narratives that are being promoted by a government with a known history of using lies, propaganda and false flags to advance preexisting military agendas. Taken together, and looked at with intellectual honesty, they are enough to obliterate anyone’s trust in what we’ve been told about Douma.

1. A leaked OPCW Engineering Assessment concluded that the gas cylinders on the scene were manually placed there.

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is a purportedly neutral and international watchdog group dedicated to eliminating the use of chemical weapons around the world. In May of this year, a leaked internal OPCW document labeled “Engineering Assessment of Two Cylinders Observed at the Douma Incident” was published by the Working Group on Syria, Propaganda and Media. The Engineering Assessment was signed by a South African ballistics expert named Ian Henderson, whose name is seen listed in expert leadership positions on OPCW documents from as far back as 1998 and as recently as 2018, and its authenticity was quickly confirmed by the OPCW in a statement sent to multiple journalists that it was “conducting an internal investigation about the unauthorised release of the document in question.”

Henderson ran some experiments and found no scientifically grounded theory for how the cylinders could possibly have been dropped vertically from the air while being found in the condition and locations that they were found in, concluding instead that they were manually placed on the scene. This is a huge difference, since the Assad coalition was the only side with aircraft and Jaysh al-Islam were the only forces on the ground.

“The dimensions, characteristics and appearance of the cylinders, and the surrounding scene of the incidents, were inconsistent with what would have been expected in the case of either cylinder being delivered from an aircraft,” Henderson wrote. “In each case the alternative hypothesis produced the only plausible explanation for observations at the scene.”

“In summary, observations at the scene of the two locations, together with subsequent analysis, suggest that there is a higher probability that both cylinders were manually placed at those two locations rather than being delivered from aircraft,” Henderson concludes.

This is unsurprising, since the hypothetical physics of the empire’s airdrop narrative make no sense to anyone with any understanding of how material objects move. To get a simple explanation of this, watch the breakdown in this three-minute animation. For a more in-depth look, check out this long Twitter thread by Climate Audit’s Stephen McIntyre.

The existence of Henderson’s report was kept secret from the public by the OPCW, which might make more sense after we get through #2 on this list.

2. US officials reportedly pressured the OPCW to find evidence of Assad’s guilt.

In addition to whoever leaked the Henderson report in May, a second whistleblower going by the pseudonym of “Alex” emerged in October to give a presentation before the whistleblower’s advocacy group Courage Foundation exposing far more plot holes in the official Douma narrative. This same whistleblower also spoke with award-winning British journalist Jonathan Steele, who published a bombshell report on Alex’s revelations in CounterPunch last month.

Among the most stunning revelations in Steele’s article was Alex’s report that US officials attempted to pressure OPCW inspectors during the Organisation’s drafting of its Interim Report on their Douma investigation in July 2018, and that this intercession was facilitated by an OPCW official named Bob Fairweather.

“On July 4 there was another intervention,” Steele writes. “Fairweather, the chef de cabinet, invited several members of the drafting team to his office. There they found three US officials who were cursorily introduced without making clear which US agencies they represented. The Americans told them emphatically that the Syrian regime had conducted a gas attack, and that the two cylinders found on the roof and upper floor of the building contained 170 kilograms of chlorine. The inspectors left Fairweather’s office, feeling that the invitation to the Americans to address them was unacceptable pressure and a violation of the OPCW’s declared principles of independence and impartiality.”

It’s unknown what forces were at play that enabled the US government to insert itself into into an ostensibly impartial OPCW investigation with the help of an OPCW official, but it wouldn’t be the first time the US government leveraged the Organisation into facilitating preexisting regime change agendas against a disobedient Middle Eastern nation. In 2002 Mother Jones reported that the US government, spearheaded by John Bolton, had used the threat of withdrawing its disproportionately high percentage of funding from the Organisation if it didn’t oust its then-Director General Jose Bustani. The popular Bustani, who’d previously been unanimously re-elected to his position, had been hurting the case for war with his successful negotiations with Saddam Hussein’s Iraq. In March 2018, after Bolton was selected as Trump’s National Security Advisor, The Intercept revealed that the campaign to remove Bustani had also included Bolton personally threatening his children.

Bolton was operating at the highest levels of the Trump White House throughout the entire duration of the OPCW’s Douma investigation. He was Trump’s National Security Advisor from April 9, 2018 to September 10, 2019. The OPCW’s Fact-Finding mission didn’t arrive in Syria until April 14 2018 and didn’t begin its investigation in Douma until several days after that, with its final report being released in March of 2019.

3. Levels of chlorinated organic chemicals didn’t indicate any chlorine gas attack took place.

“The main point is that chlorine gas degrades rapidly in the air,” Jonathan Steele told Tucker Carlson last month detailing what was told to him by Alex. “So coming in two weeks later, you wouldn’t find anything. What you would find is that the gas contaminates or affects other chemicals in the natural environment. So-called chlorinated organic chemicals [COCs]. The difficulty is they exist anyway in the natural environment and water. So the crucial thing is the levels: were there higher levels of chlorinated organic chemicals found after the alleged gas attack than there would have been in the normal environment?”

“When they got back to the Netherlands, to The Hague where the OPCW has its headquarters, samples were sent off to designated laboratories, then there was a weird silence developed,” Steele continued. “Nobody told the inspectors what the results of the analysis was. It was only by chance that the inspector found out through accident earlier the results would come in and there were no differences at all. There were no higher levels of chlorinated organic chemicals in the areas where the alleged attack had happened where there is some suspicious cylinders had been found by opposition activists. So it didn’t seem possible that there could have been a gas attack because the levels were just the same as in the natural environment.”

“[Alex] got sight of the results which indicated that the levels of COCs were much lower than what would be expected in environmental samples,” Steele reported in CounterPunch. “They were comparable to and even lower than those given in the World Health Organisation’s guidelines on recommended permitted levels of trichlorophenol and other COCs in drinking water. The redacted version of the report made no mention of the findings.”

“Had they been included, the public would have seen that the levels of COCs found were no higher than you would expect in any household environment”, Alex told Steele.

This inconvenient fact was omitted from both the OPCW’s Interim Report in July 2018 and its Final Report in March 2019.

The OPCW’s Final Report on Douma in March 2019 assures us that the team found “reasonable grounds that the use of a toxic chemical as a weapon took place. This toxic chemical contained reactive chlorine. The toxic chemical was likely molecular chlorine.” A leaked internal OPCW email, featuring an inspector voicing objections to the aforementioned Bob Fairweather over vital information being omitted from the developing Interim Report on Douma, contradicts this assurance, saying observed symptoms weren’t consistent with chlorine gas poisoning.

“In this case the confidence in the identity of chlorine or any choking agent is drawn into question precisely because of the inconsistency with the reported and observed symptoms,” the email reads. “The inconsistency was not only noted by the FFM [Fact-Finding Mission] team but strongly noted by three toxicologists with expertise in exposure to CW [Chemical Weapons] agents.”

So the OPCW’s investigative team as well as three toxicologists said what was observed didn’t match chlorine gas poisoning symptoms. This information was, of course, hidden from us by the OPCW.

leaked first draft of the Interim Report on Douma, before OPCW officials started cutting out chunks which didn’t suit the US narrative, gives more detail. Here are some excerpts (emphases mine):

“Some of the signs and symptoms described by witnesses and noted in photos and video recordings taken by witnesses, of the alleged victims are not consistent with exposure to chlorine-containing choking or blood agents such as chlorine gas, phosgene or cyanogen chloride. Specifically, the rapid onset of heavy buccal and nasal frothing in many victims, as well as the colour of the secretions, is not indicative of intoxication from such chemicals.”

“The large number of decedents in the one location (allegedly 40 to 45), most of whom were seen in videos and photos strewn on the floor of the apartments away from open windows, and within a few meters of an escape to un-poisoned or less toxic air, is at odds with intoxication by chlorine-based choking or blood agents, even at high concentrations.”

“The inconsistency between the presence of a putative chlorine-containing toxic chocking or blood agent on the one hand and the testimonies of alleged witnesses and symptoms observed from video footage and photographs, on the other, cannot be rationalised. The team considered two possible explanations for the incongruity:
a. The victims were exposed to another highly toxic chemical agent that gave rise to the symptoms observed and has so far gone undetected.
b. The fatalities resulted from a non-chemical-related incident.”

5. A doctor in Douma told journalist Robert Fisk that there was no gas poisoning.

Shortly after the Douma incident a video was circulated online and redistributed on news media around the world featuring people being hosed down with water in a hospital and an infant receiving a respiratory treatment. A doctor who worked in the hospital Assim Rahaibani gave the following account to journalist Robert Fisk days after the incident, saying those in the video were actually just suffering from hypoxia due to dust inhaled after a conventional bombing:

“I WAS WITH MY FAMILY IN THE BASEMENT OF MY HOME THREE HUNDRED METRES FROM HERE ON THE NIGHT BUT ALL THE DOCTORS KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. THERE WAS A LOT OF SHELLING [BY GOVERNMENT FORCES] AND AIRCRAFT WERE ALWAYS OVER DOUMA AT NIGHT – BUT ON THIS NIGHT, THERE WAS WIND AND HUGE DUST CLOUDS BEGAN TO COME INTO THE BASEMENTS AND CELLARS WHERE PEOPLE LIVED. PEOPLE BEGAN TO ARRIVE HERE SUFFERING FROM HYPOXIA, OXYGEN LOSS. THEN SOMEONE AT THE DOOR, A ‘WHITE HELMET’, SHOUTED ‘GAS!’, AND A PANIC BEGAN. PEOPLE STARTED THROWING WATER OVER EACH OTHER. YES, THE VIDEO WAS FILMED HERE, IT IS GENUINE, BUT WHAT YOU SEE ARE PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM HYPOXIA – NOT GAS POISONING.”

Lest anyone accuse Fisk of having any special loyalties to the Syrian government, in this same report he says it “is indeed a ruthless dictatorship.”

The BBC, another establishment that can hardly be accused of Assad loyalism, saw its Syria producer Riam Dalati claiming earlier this year that he had proof beyond a doubt the aforementioned hospital scene was staged. While holding to the establishment line that the attack did happen, Dalati expressed uncertainty as to what if any chemical would have been used and said “everything else around the attack was manufactured for maximum effect.” Emphases mine:

“The ATTACK DID HAPPEN, Sarin wasn’t used, but we’ll have to wait for OPCW to prove Chlorine or otherwise,” Dalati tweeted. However, everything else around the attack was manufactured for maximum effect. After almost 6 months of investigations, i can prove without a doubt that the Douma Hospital scene was staged.”

“No fatalities occurred in the hospital,” Dalati continued. “All the White Helmets, activists and people i spoke to are either in Idlib or Euphrates Shield areas. Only one person was in Damascus. Russia and at least one NATO country knew about what happened in the hospital. Documents were sent. However, no one knew what really happened at the flats apart from activists manipulating the scene there. This is why Russia focused solely on discrediting the hospital scene.”

In other words, Russia knew that these “activists” were staging the scene for the news media, and understandably focused on discrediting their work.

“I can tell you that Jaysh al-Islam ruled Douma with an iron fist,” Dalati added. “They coopted activists, doctors and humanitarians with fear and intimidation.”

Dalati set his account to private for an extended period after these extremely controversial statements got him a flood of attention, but the thread is up on Twitter as of this writing (here’s an archive in case they vanish again).

Riam Dalati also tweeted evidence after the attack that people had staged the corpses of two children to make it appear as though they died hugging each other for the purpose of emotional manipulation. If you’ve got a strong stomach (seriously think hard about whether this is something you want in your head before diving in), Stephen McIntyre also compiled some disturbing proof of dead infants being physically placed on top of other corpses in between video shoots of the Douma incident’s aftermath.

Whoever was positioning these bodies for the cameras clearly had a goal of generating an emotional response from the outside world. Which would be precisely the goal of staging a false chemical weapons attack.

Seventeen Syrian civilians, including medical personnel and some of the “victims” seen in the aforementioned hospital footage, spoke at the OPCW headquarters in The Hague saying that no chemical weapons attack took place. RT reports:

“THERE WERE PEOPLE UNKNOWN TO US WHO WERE FILMING THE EMERGENCY CARE, THEY WERE FILMING THE CHAOS TAKING PLACE INSIDE, AND WERE FILMING PEOPLE BEING DOUSED WITH WATER. THE INSTRUMENTS THEY USED TO DOUSE THEM WITH WATER WERE ORIGINALLY USED TO CLEAN THE FLOORS ACTUALLY,” AHMAD KASHOI, AN ADMINISTRATOR OF THE EMERGENCY WARD, RECALLED. “THAT HAPPENED FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, WE PROVIDED HELP TO THEM AND SENT THEM HOME. NO ONE HAS DIED. NO ONE SUFFERED FROM CHEMICAL EXPOSURE.”

The briefing was boycotted by the US and 16 of its allies and was smeared as an unconscionable Russian hoax by media outlets ranging from Sky News to Al Jazeera to The Guardian to The Intercept, apparently for no other reason than that what these Syrians were saying didn’t match the unsubstantiated claims being promoted by the political/media class of the US-centralized empire. If you want to just listen to what the Syrians themselves say and make up your own mind, RT has an English translation video here:

9. The first OPCW Director General finds the glaring irregularities and omissions from the OPCW’s Douma report “very disturbing”.

After the aforementioned Courage Foundation presentation given by Alex this past October, the aforementioned former OPCW Director General Jose Bustani (the one whose kids John Bolton threatened) had this to say:

“The convincing evidence of irregular behaviour in the OPCW investigation of the alleged Douma chemical attack confirms doubts and suspicions I already had. I could make no sense of what I was reading in the international press. Even official reports of investigations seemed incoherent at best. The picture is certainly clearer now, although very disturbing”

“I have always expected the OPCW to be a true paradigm of multilateralism. My hope is that the concerns expressed publicly by the Panel, in its joint consensus statement, will catalyse a process by which the Organisation can be resurrected to become the independent and non-discriminatory body it used to be.”

10. This OAN reporter literally just walking around asking people in Douma what they saw.

11. MIT Professor Emeritus Theodore Postol speaking about the plot holes and irregularities in scientific protocol with the Douma investigation.

12. Common sense: Assad stood nothing to gain from launching a chemical attack, while Jaysh al-Islam fighters stood everything to gain by faking one.

This is the initial reason why critical thinkers were so skeptical of the establishment Douma narrative: from the very beginning, it made no sense at all.

Click this hyperlink to read a BBC article dated five days before the Douma incident, describing how the Syrian government “appears poised to regain control” of the town and how Jaysh al-Islam fighters were already evacuating. The battle was won. Assad would have stood absolutely nothing to gain from tempting a retaliation from western powers (which could have been far more severe than it ended up being) all to drop a couple of cylinders of chlorine gas, which incidentally is a highly ineffective weapon that ordinarily takes a very long time to kill.

Jaysh al-Islam (and whoever else they may have been working with), on the other hand, would have stood everything to gain by murdering a few of the civilians they had been holding captive in the town they’d invaded in the hopes that western forces would become their airforce for a bit and hold off the Syrian Arab Army from reclaiming Douma.

“Why would Assad use chemical weapons at this time? He’s won the war,” Major General Jonathan Shaw told The Mail on Sunday at the time. “That’s not just my opinion, it is shared by senior commanders in the US military. There is no rationale behind Assad’s involvement whatsoever. He’s convinced the rebels to leave occupied areas in buses. He’s gained their territory. So why would he be bothering gassing them?”

“The jihadists and the various opposition groups who’ve been fighting against Assad have much greater motivation to launch a chemical weapons attack and make it look like Assad was responsible,” the ex-SAS and Parachute Regiment commander added. “Their motivation being that they want to keep the Americans involved in the war – following Trump saying the US was going to leave Syria for other people to sort out.”

Admiral Lord West made similar comments on the BBC around the same time, prompting BBC host Annita McVeigh to flip into frantic narrative management mode suggesting that he’s “muddying the waters” during an “information war with Russia”.

“President Assad is in the process of winning this civil war, and he was about to take over Douma, all that area,” West said. “He’d had a long, long, long slog slowly capturing that area of the city, and there just before he goes in and takes it all over, apparently he decides to have a chemical attack. It just doesn’t ring true. It seems extraordinary, because clearly he would know that there’s likely to be a response from the allies. What benefit is there for his military? Most of the rebel fighters, this disparate group of Islamists, had withdrawn, there were a few women and children left around. What benefit was there militarily in doing what he did? I find that extraordinary.”

“Whereas we know that in the past some of the Islamo groups have used chemicals, and of course there’d be huge benefit in them labeling an attack as coming from Assad, because they would guess quite rightly that there would be a response from the US as there was last time, and possibly from the UK and France,” West added.

“If I were advising some of the Islamist groups, many of whom are worse than Daesh,” West said, “I would say look, we’ve got to wait until there’s another attack by Assad’s forces, particularly if they’ve got a helicopter overhead or something like that and they’re dropping barrel bombs, and we set off some chlorine. Because we’ll get the next attack from the allies. And there’s no doubt that if we believe he’s done a chemical attack we should do that. And those attacks will get bigger, and it’s the only way they’ve got, actually, of stopping the inevitable victory of Assad.”

These are not Assad sympathizers or Kremlin assets saying this. These are not a bunch of hippie dippie anti-imperialists. These are lifelong military men, thinking in military terms, describing what they were seeing. And what they were seeing is the thing that a false flag is.

And now here we are. The US is still illegally occupying Syria in spite of Trump’s repeated verbiage about getting out, and those children are still dead.

This isn’t just some idle philosophical question. People died. A massive war crime occurred and the more minutes tick by before a legitimate investigation is launched–with full transparency and accountability this time–the less available evidence there will be. Which is why establishment narrative managers on Syria go full dead-weight when asked if they support a full criminal investigation into what happened. They don’t actually believe it will go their way, and rightly so.

Meanwhile the illegal occupation of Syria drags on, perhaps until Trump can be replaced with a more compliant puppet, and we’re all basically just sitting around waiting to be deceived again.

This cannot continue. This must not continue.

AFTER ALMOST 6 MONTHS OF INVESTIGATIONS, I CAN PROVE WITHOUT A DOUBT THAT THE #DOUMA HOSPITAL SCENE WAS STAGED. NO FATALITIES OCCURRED IN THE HOSPITAL.
ALL THE #WH, ACTIVISTS AND PEOPLE I SPOKE TO ARE EITHER IN #IDLIB OR #EUPHRATESSHIELD AREAS.
ONLY ONE PERSON WAS IN #DAMASCUS.

7. More evidence the Douma scene was knowingly staged for media.
