Part I – Stretching the Definition of Anti-Semitism

IsraHell genocide of Palestinians

Can criticism of Israel, particularly a) criticism of Israel’s treatment of the Palestinian people and b) criticism of the state ideology of Zionism that justifies that treatment, be labeled anti-Semitic? This is not a hypothetical query. An affirmative answer to this question is being advocated by influential Zionist lobbies in the United States. The question is of particular importance on the nation’s college and university campuses. In places like the University of California at Berkeley and Santa Cruz, and also at Rutgers University in New Jersey, Zionist students are now threatening to sue these institutions for failing to prevent an “atmosphere of anti-Semitic bigotry” allegedly created by the presence of pro-Palestinian student groups and faculty.

One might ask if it isn’t a stretch to assert that protesting Israeli and Zionist behavior is the same as anti-Semitism? Common sense certainly tells us this is so. Unfortunately, we are not dealing with situations that are ruled by common sense. What we are facing here is the issue of ideologues bred to a specific perceptual paradigm and their insistence that others conform to it.

Here is an example: Take an American kid from a self-conscious Jewish home. This kid does not represent all American Jewish youth, but does typify say 20% of them. He or she is taught about the religion and also taught about recent history and the near annihilation of the Jews of Europe. He or she is sent to Hebrew school, and maybe a yeshiva school as well. Most of our hypothetical student’s friends will be Jewish and of similar background. Between home, friends and school the student might well find him or herself in something of a closed universe. Throughout this educational process Judaism and its fate in the modern world is connected with Israel and its survival. The Arabs, and particularly the Palestinians, are transformed into latter day Nazis. In addition, Israel’s state ideology of Zionism becomes assimilated into the credos of the religion. Soon our hypothetical student cannot tell the difference between the two. Then, having come of age, our student goes off to college or university. Now he or she is no longer in a closed world. The result can be culture shock and an uncomfortable feeling that the student is on a campus where vocal and assertive debate about Israel and its behavior sounds like an attack on the Jewish religion. Our student complains to the ZOA, Hillel, AIPAC, or some similar organization and we are off down a road toward censorship and/or litigation. Lawsuits are lodged (particularly if the ZOA is involved), donors swear that they will no longer support the institution, legislators bang on desks at the state capital, and boards of directors want to know what is going on and what the institution’s president is going to do about it?

Part II – Sweet Reason

There have been a number of efforts to try to use sweet reason to work out some of these problems before they get too explosive. For instance, in 2006 there was concern over the efforts of various pro-Palestinian campus groups to promote an academic boycott of Israel. Is this being anti-Semitic? Should campuses allow this to be advocated? After all those who espouse academic boycott have a good deal of evidence of criminal activities on the part of the Israeli Universities. At that time the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) sought to clarify the issues by arranging a roundtable discussion on academic boycott by those who stood pro and con. This sounded like a good idea. But no, the Zionist side did not like the list of discussants on the pro side and tried to censor the list. The AAUP resisted that move, so the Zionist side pressured the donors subsidizing the proposed roundtable to pull their support. The whole thing collapsed. It seemed the Zionists were not going to discuss the topic except on their own terms.

Just recently there has been similar attempt at sweet reason. A heated debate is now taking place over whether Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (which bars federal funds from institutions that discriminate) can be applied to schools that allow criticism of Israel which the Zionists claim is anti-Semitic. If so, those same Zionists, whose influence is strong in Congress, can use Title VI as a club to threaten colleges and universities with the loss of financial support unless they shut down the criticism. This, of course, equates to censorship and an attack on free speech.

Once more the AAUP, which opposes the use of Title VI in such situations, approached the American Zionists in an effort to find a compromise position. Professor Cary Nelson, head of the AAUP, managed to enter into negotiations with Kenneth Stern, the “anti-Semitism expert” of the American Jewish Committee (AJC). The two of them worked out a common position which, after consultation with others in each organization, was signed and released to the public. What did this document say? For our needs, here are its most important points:

1. Title VI is not an appropriate instrument to use when trying to “protect” Jewish students from “anti-Israel events, statements and speakers.” To use Title VI this way amounts to censorship.

2. Question: How do we know what is going on at a college or university campus is anti-Semitism? Answer: “Six years ago the European monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia (EUMC) created a working definition of anti-Semitism….while clearly stating that criticism of Israel in the main is not anti-Semitic, [it] gives some examples of when anti-Semitism may come into play, such as holding Jews collectively responsible for the acts of the Israeli state, comparing Israeli policy to that of the Nazis, or denying to Jews the right of self-determination (such as by claiming that Zionism is racism). In recent years the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights have embraced this definition too. It is entirely proper for university administrators, scholars and students to reference the working definition in identifying definite or possible instances of anti-Semitism on campus.”
3. Conclusion: Censorship should be avoided, Title VI should be avoided, but the “working definition” should be used to make judgments as to how best to “wrestle with ideas” while at the same time “combating bigotry.”

This letter was signed by both Cary Nelson as President of the AAUP and Kenneth Stern as the Director of the anti-Semitism and extremism sub-division of the AJC. Released in early August 2011, it took only a few days before it was repudiated by the AJC. On 9 August David Harris, President of the American Jewish Committee, “apologized” for the joint declaration, said it was “ill advised” and blamed a breakdown in the AJC’s “system of checks and balances” for the slip up. Kenneth Stern is now on an unscheduled sabbatical and cannot be reached for comment.

This is, of course, a replay of the 2006 situation and just goes to show that, it is the hard right ideologues who are in charge on the Zionist side. These people have a worldview that allows for no compromise. Censorship is exactly what they want and Title VI is as good a weapon to wield as any. What could Kenneth Stern possibly have been thinking? There is no room for sweet reason here.

Part III – The AAUP Makes a Mistake

This is not the end of the story. There is something wrong with the fact that the AAUP was so quick to endorse the EUMC working definition of anti-Semitism (a definition, by the way, that Kenneth Stern had a hand in writing). Consider these two statements from the above AAUP-AJC declaration each of which, according to the “working definition,” can be seen as anti-Semitic: 1) “holding Jews collectively responsible for the acts of the Israeli state” and 2) “denying to Jews the right of self-determination (such as by claiming that Zionism is racism).” As we are about to see the first statement has hidden facets to it and the second defies historical reality.

Statement 1:

It is absolutely the case that the Jews should not be held collectively responsible for the actions of Israel. But it should be pointed out that it is just such collective responsibility that Zionists insist upon. Zionist ideology demands that Israel be recognized as representing world Jewry. Zionists expect that, in return, all Jews will identify with and actively support Israel–feel one with the “Jewish state.” They classify those Jews who do not recognize their collective responsibility to Israel as somehow deficient or perhaps “self-hating” Jews. So let us get this straight, if holding Jews collectively responsible for the acts of Israel is anti-Semitic, what does that make the Zionists?

Statement 2:

a. That Jews have some sort of natural right to political self-determination is highly questionable. How about Protestants, Catholics, Hindus, Buddhists, ad infinitum? Just how far do we want to push this claim of political self-determination for religious faiths? Oh, but the Zionists insist that Jews are not just adherents to a particular faith–they are a “people.” Well, for sure that is an opinion. It just doesn’t happen to be the opinion of millions of other Jews who see Judaism as a religion pure and simple. Of course, if the latter are vocal about this they run the risk of being labeled “self-hating.”

b. And who, except of course the Zionists, says that Zionism is a desirable vehicle for the expression of this alleged right of self-determination? Let us face it. Israel and its Zionist ideology were born of the will of a small minority of Jews, almost exclusively from Central and Eastern Europe, most of whom were secularists, and almost all of whom carried within their heads the poisoned perceptions of European imperialist bigotry – an outlook which still characterizes the state they set up. That is why, in practice, Zionism has resulted in a prima facie racist environment in Israel. And now we are told that, according to the “working definition,” pointing out the link between Zionism and racism is an act of anti-Semitism!

Given this close reading of parts of the “working definition,” the AAUP really ought to rethink its apparent support of the document. It is a position that can only give impetus to the very censorship the AAUP dreads.

Part IV – Conclusion

One has come to expect twisted logic from the Zionists. Actually, one can expect this sort of thinking from any band of ideologues. Their blinkered vision, incapable of seeing around the corners of their prejudices, guarantees that most of what comes out of their mouths and their pens is sophistry.

However, what is one to do when folks you count on as rational and careful thinkers, like the leadership of the AAUP, get caught short this way? What is one to do when flawed reasoning and spurious assumptions start to be translated into criteria for government administrative decisions? What can you do when a fifth of the Congress decides to take a break and visit one of the most racist places on the planet and you risk being labeled an anti-Semite for decrying this fact? Well, you have a good laugh, have a good cry, and then go post your assessment of the situation on your website. Then you get a bit drunk. Finally, you repeat ten times “I will never to stay silent.”

Pakistan: Understanding People’s Revolution

Understanding People’s Revolution

By Dr. Haider Mehdi

“‘We must rescue our people from the injustice,’ said the mountain boy. ‘We must make our people strong and devout so that they cannot be preyed upon by our enemies.’”

“Motive does not exist in the abstract.  It’s not who people are. It’s what they do.” From the novelOur Game by John Le Carre

Recently, Socialist Pakistan’s Secretary General, Farooq Tariq, compiled a list of price hikes in the country during the PPP’s 3-year political-economic management.  This list is a miserably dismal reflection of growing poverty, economic mismanagement, social injustice and utter disregard of the welfare of the Pakistani masses.  The life of the majority of the 180 million people of Pakistan has been marginalized in the way that has no precedent in our history.  Pakistan is tearing apart at its seams because of the massively increasing poverty of its people – and yet, the incumbent ruling party, along with the major opposition parties and their leaderships, continue to paint a picture of a prosperous democratic Pakistan in the offing.  It seems as if the very concept of democracy has changed its political and philosophical meaning, as if in the mindset of the Pakistani traditional ruling elite, democracy in itself has become a sacred cow in its own right, as if it is an abstract idea to be protected above and beyond the welfare of the governed, divorced and removed from the political and economic role that it is supposed to perform in the service of the populous.

Instead of democracy, “a government of the people, by the people, for the people,” the contemporary political elite, inclusive of the traditional politicians in opposition, have come to believe that democracy is a government of political power of the vested interests, by the vested interests and for the vested interests – and the political game of clinging to power continues.  So much so that nearly all top political leaders are claiming transfer of political power as a hereditary right.  Asif Zardari already has his son as his successor, and Mian Nawaz Sharif reportedly has argued that if the son of a medical doctor can be a doctor, why can’t the son or daughter of a political leader be a leader. And several others seem to share the same belief. The recklessness of democratic norms is an amazing salient feature of Pakistan’s democratic past and present.

It is ironic that Pakistan’s traditional politicians are in a frame of mind refusing to even acknowledge, in fact in total defiance of, the revolutionary processes that are engulfing the entire Arab and Muslim world.  Unfortunately, laced with naive assessments of political ground realities, superficial rhetorical excesses and pure and shameless hypocrisy, the Pakistani contemporary leadership, including the major political actors in the opposition, continue to see the public turmoil in the country through a Western mental grid: They say it is democracy that people are clamoring for – as if voting is an end in itself, irrespective of what the voted representatives deliver to the voters.  Indeed, they have made a mockery of national democratic aspirations.

The entire Muslim world is exploding with public anger against oppression, corruption, fear, uncertainties of future existence, massive unemployment, lack of health and educational services, and direct interference in domestic affairs by the US-West’s neocon establishments, so that political turmoil has become a way of life in many nations.  And yet the Pakistani leadership remains oblivious to rising tides of public demands in its own country as well as totally removed from learning any substantive lessons from ongoing revolutionary world events. “Across the world, a lot of middle- and lower-middle class people now feel that the future is out of their grasp, and they are letting their leaders know it,” wrote Thomas L. Friedman recently.

Indeed, there is a multitude of reasons for societal turmoil engulfing the large part of the present-day world.  And yet, it is not difficult to find and point out a common denominator in all of those people’s-propelled political explosions worldwide: “Instead of trying to conceptualize an ongoing diversified process, I’d better to listen to the people to the..people asking for dignity and respect, a decent standard of living and job, right to education and an end to corruption,” wrote Luc Debieuvre of IRIS and the University of Paris. “We are fighting for an assessable future,” commented Freidman on the recent middle class uprising in Israel.

In Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, Jordan, Morocco and scores of other countries, mass political movements are demanding social and economic justice, a cultural renaissance, freedom from oppression, both from within and outside, and an end to state sponsored police violence, privatization of national assets  and corporate culture.  What is desired is a drastic transformation of traditional institutionalized political and economic structures, substantive and meaningful changes to the traditional political cultures, massive state investment in self-reliance in economic policy and planning, an end to political and foreign policy status quo and a return to full national sovereignty.  Of course, eliminating people’s hunger, starvation, misery, deprivations, socio-cultural exploitation, disease and illiteracy remains the common goal for all oppressed people around the world.

I’m obliged here to cite Imran Khan, chief of the PTI, who has endlessly lamented on the Pakistani people’s miserable and tragic contemporary existence: Imran says that political socio-economic conditions in Pakistan today are far worse than in almost any other nation in the world – there is lack of electricity and water, prices of food and daily consumable commodities are skyrocketing, people are dying of starvation,  violence, murder and mayhem have become a way of life, state brutality and oppression is rampant , state institutions are being systematically violated by the powers-that-be, and all our contemporary political leadership, inclusive of the incumbent rulers and the opposition, care about is to seek power at the nation’s expense, even at the country’s complete destruction.  General Aslam Beg, former Chief of the Army Staff and a noted columnist, has argued a number of times through his writings and TV appearances that the state might collapse under the weight of present conditions and because of political-economic-foreign policies and contemporary mismanagement of national affairs. Both Imran Khan and Gen. Beg are politically correct, are they not?

There was a time, not long ago, when this was a peaceful and serene country, until a wretched General said “Yes” to another wretched General over the telephone. Since then, all hell has broken lose. Not that civilian rulers and other generals, incompetent and selfish, had not violated the sanctimony of this nation before – but this one had topped all previous cataclysms only to be superseded by the incumbent civilian PPP rulers and their behind-the-doors collaborators within the country and from the high-powered masters outside of it.  We are in an absolute mess, are we not?

There is an emptiness in our national existence at the moment that can, incidentally, offer opportunities for endless and never-ending political inventions and economic initiatives.  But our contemporary leadership is neither interested in filling that emptiness nor the least in understanding the importance of those inventions or initiatives in the interest of the nation.  We are besieged by a bunch of incompetent, visionless, selfish power-seeking, egocentric politicians who would not let it go, no matter what the consequences are. Hence, we as a nation have become so used to “hopes frustrated, possibilities unrealized, opportunities denied, that we have learned to take disappointment for granted, even before it happens.”  But the point is that if the present political phenomenon continues, it is a sure recipe of our ultimate demise as a nation.

What we need now for our future survival, political inventions, and visionary initiatives is a leadership tailored on the model of “Qalandari and Qalandaranah” – bold, undaunted, free-thinking, selfless, full of personal integrity and credibility, dedicated wholeheartedly to serving the people and answerable to those who elect them.  What we need is a ”Faqiranah Mizaj” – “dervishy” mindset, penurious and possessing the humbleness becoming of saints. What we need are altruistic persons at the helm of national affairs.

Or we can continue to subscribe to “Firauniyyat” the despotic perverters of democracy …The choice is ours!

“Motive does not exist in the abstract.  It’s not who people are, it’s what they do.”

Join the rising tide of people’s revolution in Pakistan.

Join in understanding the need for such a revolution!!

Pakistan: Ch Nisar v Javed Hashmi

By Dr Ghayur Ayub

Ch Nisar and Javed Hashmi are like two sides of one coin-the coin being PML-N. Both are sincere to the party and its leadership, but by nature they are poles apart. I have

known both of them closely and can say with confidence that I can write a book on each. Who knows, one day I might even. But today, without touching on their private lives, I will try to highlight factors effecting their personalities pertaining to politics.

In February 1992, I was sent to Sheikh Zaid Hospital, Lahore, as trouble shooter to control an ongoing doctor’s strike. After taking charge as Chairman, I found the hospital a picture of devastation, with broken windows, shattered glasses, bricks, stones and pebbles filling the otherwise clean lawns, corridors and wards. The strike resulted in seven strikers being locked up and three in hospital with serious injuries. I managed to control the situation, bringing the striking parties on the table and releasing those behind the bars.

While I was in Sheikh Zaid Hospital, the post of Executive Director, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) fell vacant and I applied for it. There were four candidates for the job. One day, I got a call from the Cabinet Division informing me that I had been selected for the post and a notification was issued accordingly. I was also told that this decision had been made by the Deputy Prime Minister, Ch Nisar Ali Khan. I did not know Ch Nisar personally at that time. A few weeks later, I met him at Lahore airport for the first time. He looked fragile in physique and indifferent in attitude. When I introduced myself, all he said was, “So you are Dr Ghayur; your opponents have slung a lot of mud on you. But my enquiries about you proved otherwise.” We were to become friends thereafter.

Over the years, I found him to be impressive in his logical approach on political matters and in his know-how of convincing others on problematic issues. He had a matter-of-fact personality with two distinct qualities; an outright revulsion for corruption and complete distaste for sycophants. He could not tolerate corruption, and unnecessary flattering irritated him. When it came to persuasion, he had to be convinced by logical arguments rather than emotions. He disliked people sacrificing their pride just to get ahead. This attitude was translated by some of his opponents as his egoism and arrogance. Some of his colleagues labelled him as an abrupt man suffering from complexes who had huge chip on his shoulder. He was known for tough decisions and once he made up his mind, it was practically impossible to change it. Some even compared him with the fictional character, Col Faridi, created by the great writer Ibn-e-Safi. His bolshy nature, dry noesis and closeness to the party leadership led his colleagues to fear him. They stayed away from him and vice versa.

He could not tolerate two things – incompetence and laziness. Mediocre people holding high positions made him uncomfortable. He expected others to see things the way he saw them. This made him short-tempered and fractious. Because of this, senior bureaucrats felt uneasy and even worried, when they brought files to him for discussion. Once, I saw a grade 22 bureaucrat perspiring heavily as he left his office. In meetings with bureaucrats, he acted like more of a bureaucrat than the shrewd bureaucrats themselves. With politicians, he failed to present himself on their wavelength. In party meetings, he would sit quietly and avoid giving his input unless asked by the leadership. Such aloofness with politicians and hawkish attitude with bureaucracy made him unpopular with both groups, especially the former. In a way his attitude made him seem less of a politician and more of a bureaucrat. His innate obstinance extended to his religious leanings. Being a staunch supporter of Deobandi School of Thought, he closed his mind to other sects and was especially critical of Sufism.

This type of personality package fell heavy on his friends. He chose friends according to their skills and would only discuss matters of their fields, making them feel restricted in openness, creating a window of frustration. Very rarely, with a scarce few, he would open up socially – otherwise he always kept a lid on personal and private matters. One such friend was a risible cardiologist from PIMS who could change his mood instantly, otherwise his short temper could spoil a friendly atmosphere in a blink. Such a disposition made his friends realise that friendship with him ran one way – his way. Among them, he became known as a man who knew when and how to dump friends. Soon, he started losing his lifelong ‘buddies’.

Here comes the punchline. With all the logical and calculated mental selectivity, he had a strange paradox in his personality. He had weak ears for gossips especially if they involved stories pertaining to corrupt practices. His immediate juniors took advantage of this and concocted stories about those they did not like, turning his mind against them. His trusted personal secretary from his village was a glaring example. He provided misinformation on corruption about a few politicians and friends sowing the seeds of misunderstanding against them. This was to become a tipping point against Javed Hashmi.

I met Javed Hashmi a few times when I was executive director, PIMS in the early 1990s. We became friends when he was appointed as health minister in the second term of Mr. Nawaz Sharif. I was director general health then. I worked with him for three years and found him an easy person to work with. He was down to earth in his attitude and humble in his character, treating all with equality. One could see in him a person whose political mindset had been nurtured in the fields of a ‘Pind’. This mindset made him modest and unassuming. His political discussions evolved around Tehsil politics. One could feel elementary politics running in his jugular making him knowledgeable on both local and national politics.

He was one of the few persons I ever met who did not loose logic when flooded with emotions. Usually people sink down to basic instincts when emotionally charged loosing rational thread. Not him. Most probably this was because he had a complex-free personality. It became obvious when I saw him having no problem conveying his point of view to the foreigners in ‘tooty phooty’ English. When pointed out he smiled saying his aim was to convey his message and not to teach or learn English. I saw him doing it effectively in Geneva, Cairo and Damascus where he represented Pakistan in world fora.

In decision making, he had a clear mind and had no hesitation in acting on the most difficult decisions, which put him in trouble many times. One such decision put him behind bars for 23 years. His bold stand alongside Begum Kulsum Nawaz at a time when many left Nawaz Sharif was another fearless decision he took. I have first hand knowledge that when Sheikh Rashid changed sides, he tried to convince him to do the same and get political mileage. But Javed Hashmi refused in the name of democracy, thereby exposing himself to the military onslaught and suffered personally.

When he was in Adhyala Jail, I was sent to assess his medical condition by the federal government. There, I found him as rapturous as he was in the Ministerial Enclave as minister. The only time I saw his eyes filling with tears was when he narrated a chapter from his upcoming book in which he spoke of his daughter. Over all, he is a politician, groomed at grass-root level, having no inhibitory qualms. His leaning on the Barelvi School of Thought has a great influence on his personality, making him humble, down to earth and tolerant.

So here are two prominent political leaders of PML-N, both full of political acumen and sincere to the party who cannot look straight into each other’s eyes because of their diverse personality traits. When I was investigated by NAB, repeated pressure was put on me to provide ‘something’ against both that would indict them. They gave me the distinct impression that the two hated each other and expected me to take sides. Once, the frustrated investigating ISI Col got annoyed, banged the table and left the room fuming. Reason? I told him point blank that there was nothing to show the two men’s involvement in nepotism, irregular administrative practices or corruption.

It is a pity that two such outstanding senior politicians, with their inborn, laudable but diverse qualities have been pitted against each other by a few narrow-minded and inconsiderate people around them to widen the gap between the two for their own selfish reasons.

NY: Jewish charity man charged in Torah fraud

“Save a Torah” co-founder Menachem Youlus said he had crisscrossed globe rescuing Torahs as ‘Jewish Indiana Jones.’ Authorities say he duped benefactors by fabricating stories, collected hundreds of thousands of dollars

Associated Press

A Jewish charity co-founder who claimed he crisscrossed the globe rescuing Torahs as a “Jewish Indiana Jones” surrendered Wednesday to face mail and wire fraud charges after authorities said he duped benefactors by fabricating dramatic stories about sometimes dangerous trips, including to concentration camp sites in Poland and Germany.

Menachem Youlus, who owns the Jewish Bookstore in Wheaton, Md., was charged in a criminal complaint unsealed in federal court in Manhattan and was released Wednesday on $100,000 bail. His attorney, Paul Rooney, said, “We deny this accusation and anything else we have to say will be said in court.”

Court papers said the 50-year-old Youlus carried out the fraud from at least 2004 through last year, pocketing hundreds of thousands of dollars through the “Save a Torah” charity he co-founded in 2004 as a nonprofit organization. It said he passed off Torahs he bought from US dealers to synagogues and congregations nationwide, sometimes at inflated rates.

It said he received nearly a third of $1.2 million collected by the group, spending some of it on private school tuition for his children and on personal expenses, including meals and health care. The publicly stated mission of the charity was to locate and acquire Torahs that survived the Holocaust or had been taken from Jewish communities worldwide and repair them so they could be used in communities that need them.

Holy scrolls given new life?

According to a criminal complaint prepared by US Postal Inspector Greg Ghiozzi, an application by “Save a Torah” to become a charity listed on the federal government’s campaign to encourage donations by federal employees boasted that Youlus had been “dubbed as the present day Jewish ‘Indiana Jones.’ He has been beaten up, thrown in jail, and gone $175,000 into debt, to bring these holy scrolls out of less-than-friendly places, back to safety and a new life.”

At a 2004 Torah dedication, Youlus wrote: “I guess you could call me the Jewish Indiana Jones,” the complaint said, referencing the action-adventure hero played by Harrison Ford in the 1981 Stephen Spielberg classic “Raiders of the Lost Ark.”

But Ghiozzi wrote that his investigation of Youlus’ globe-trotting found no facts to support claims that Youlus rescued the “Auschwitz Torah” in Poland from inside a metal box that he located and unearthed in 2004 using a metal detector. There was also no evidence that he discovered a Torah in 2002 that had been hidden during World War II under the floor of a barracks at the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in Germany, Ghiozzi wrote.

The postal inspector wrote that a review of travel records showed that Youlus never traveled to Poland in 2004, making only a two-week trip to Israel, and that he didn’t travel internationally from early 2001 to August 2004, when he claimed to have made the trip to Germany. Ghiozzi said a historian at the Bergen-Belsen Memorial Museum told him Youlus’ claims were impossible because the barracks was completely destroyed by the British Army several weeks after the camp was liberated at the end of World War II.

“Youlus told fabricated, untrue accounts of having `rescued’ Torahs that had been lost or hidden during the Holocaust and other times of Jewish persecution around the world, and then used those fabricated accounts as a platform for soliciting contributions to `Save a Torah,’” Ghiozzi said.

$32,000 for Auschwitz Torah

Based on some of Youlus’s false claims, a contributor paid about $32,000 directly to Youlus’ book store to buy the Auschwitz Torah and then donated it to a Manhattan synagogue, which staged a large ceremony to honor the resettlement of the Torah, Ghiozzi said.

He said Youlus sent letters after the ceremony to the contributor, seeking a donation of at least $250,000 to “Save a Torah” on the grounds that Youlus had suffered significant personal debt rescuing items for the charity. At the time, in 2007, Ghiozzi wrote, Youlus’ home had been paid off since 1992, and he had nearly $900,000 in savings accounts, checking accounts and other financial instruments that he held jointly with family members and more than $1.1 million held in the name of the Jewish Bookstore.

At the time, Youlus was telling the charity’s president that he had personally borrowed over $150,000 on his credit cards and against his home at a high interest rate to acquire and repair 15 Torahs that were facing the threat of rapid deterioration or destruction, including 10 Torahs from an unspecified “Russian general” and five from a monastery in Kiev, Ukraine, Ghiozzi said.

The postal inspector said Youlus had complained before of going broke, saying he had borrowed more than $150,000 in 2004 to rescue Torahs that were well over 100 years old in Hungary, Poland and Ukraine when he had more than $150,000 in his personal bank accounts and $652,733 invested in certificates of deposit in the name of the Jewish Bookstore.

Meanwhile, Youlus benefited personally from donations, receiving more than $344,000, the complaint said. He spent $90,000 of that on tuition payments to a private school for his children and a relative’s children and more than $200,000 on personal expenses including retail goods, meals and health care, the complaint said.

Gaddafi’s Fleeing Mercenaries Describe the Collapse of the Regime

Right from the start, Mario, an ethnic Croatian artillery specialist from Bosnia, suspected it was a lost cause.

“My men were mainly from the south [of Libya] and Chad, and there were a few others from countries south of Libya,” said Mario, who spoke on condition that his last name not be published. A veteran of the wars of the former Yugoslavia, he had been hired by the Gaddafi regime to help fight the rebels and, later, NATO. “Discipline was bad, and they were too stupid to learn anything. But things were O.K. until the air strikes commenced. The other side was equally bad, if not worse. [Muammar] Gaddafi would have smashed the rebels had the West not intervened.” (See pictures of the lengthy battle for Libya.)

By early July, Mario said, more than 30% of the men under his command had deserted or defected to the rebel side. NATO missiles scored several direct hits on his forces, causing “significant casualties.” At that point in the war, he said, “military hardware stopped having the role it [once did]. We had to use camouflage and avoid open spaces.”

Away from the front, at the heart of the regime, mistrust and excess further undermined Gaddafi’s hold on power, Mario said. “Life in [Gaddafi’s] compound and shelters was so surreal, with partying, women, alcohol and drugs,” said Mario, 41. “One of the relatives of Gaddafi took me to one of his villas where they offered me anything I wanted. I heard stories about people being shot for fun and forced to play Russian roulette while spectators were making bets, like in the movies.”

Tension between two of Gaddafi’s sons contributed to the sense that Gaddafi’s cause was doomed. “I noticed profound rivalry between Gaddafi’s sons,” Mario said, speaking en route from the southern city of Sabha to Libya’s border with Niger. “Once, there was almost an armed clash between Mohammed’s and Saif [al-Islam]‘s men. I saw one group interrogating the other at gunpoint, and then more of the other group arrived fully armed, and it was a standoff for several minutes, with both sides cursing each other.” (See portraits of refugees fleeing Libya.)

Mario respected and liked Gaddafi’s most prominent son, Saif al-Islam, who in 2009 threw himself a lavish 37th birthday party on the coast of the former Yugoslav republic of Montenegro, one of Europe’s newest glamour spots for the superrich. The ties between the Gaddafi family and the former Yugoslavia stretch back to the days of Josep Broz Tito, Yugoslavia’s storied communist leader, who was a friend and ally of Gaddafi’s. Mario said that Gaddafi had hired several former Yugoslav fighters, most of them Serbs, to help him in his fight against NATO and the rebels. One by one, Mario said, these foreign advisers and commanders left Tripoli. Some senior Libyans joined them.

“I noticed that many Libyans pretended loyalty just out of fear and were just seeking a way to turn against [Gaddafi],” Mario said. “Many officers admitted to me they stood no chance against NATO, and one of them told me he was in touch with the people in Benghazi.” Benghazi is the rebel stronghold in the east of the country.

Mario left Tripoli 12 days ago after receiving a warning from a comrade. “Two weeks ago, a friend who brought me here told me I should leave Tripoli, as things were going to rapidly change and that deals have been made,” he said. He noticed Gaddafi’s South African mercenaries beginning to leave. Mario decided with a fellow mercenary to flee Tripoli. “I tried to get ahold of Saif before that, but he was beyond reach,” he said. “Later he called my companion to ask if we needed something and to say that they would win back all of Libya.” (See a brief history of Muammar Gaddafi’s 40-year rule.)

Another former Yugoslav soldier, a retired general in the old Yugoslav army and a longtime military adviser to Gaddafi, cut things tighter, leaving Tripoli on Aug. 21. The man, who spoke on condition that his name not be published, spoke to TIME as he traveled through Libya toward Tunisia. “Back there is chaos,” he said, referring to Tripoli, which was then being overrun by the rebel forces. “The whole system has collapsed. I knew it was coming. I haven’t spoken to [Gaddafi] in four weeks. He wouldn’t listen.”

Like Mario, the former general had sensed that the regime would soon fall. “Everything seemed normal until recently, but we could feel the deal breaking behind the stage,” he said. The former general, who had lived in Tripoli and ran a business there for many years, described Gaddafi as a “fool” and compared him to Slobodan Milosevic, the Serbian leader who took on NATO during the 1999 war in Kosovo and ultimately died in a prison cell at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in the Hague. “You can’t fight NATO and play a stubborn lunatic like that guy,” the former general said.

Gaddafi’s “Pet Journalists” 5 Star Prison

Rixos Hotel, Sister to the Corinthia, Home of Gaddafi’s “Bought and Paid For Journalists” Suffers “Decline in Service”

By Gordon Duff, Senior Editor

Update note:  Journalists “freed” today….all in good health.

Dozens of western “journalists” and “others” are being held prisoner by Gaddafi loyalists in the Rixos Hotel, adjacent to the Gaddafi compound, taken by NTC forces yesterday.  Some are real journalists but others are highly paid “guests” of Gaddafi, brought into the country to “seed” propaganda into the news and when that proved too difficult, to flood conspiracy websites with wild stories of NATO atrocities.

(48 hours old – memorable interview)

They are now held prisoner, but, in fact, they were always prisoners, prisoners in gilded cages, free to peddle press releases as news, free to eat and drink like kings, as long as they served their masters.  Conjecture?  Not according to the NTC (National Transitional Council) who now claims to hold the files on this dark page of journalistic betrayal.

5 Star dining is now bread and water.  The daily “press and shoe shine” is now an AK 47 in the face or the threat of a rifle butt.  Cynthia McKinney is said to be among those being held by Gaddafi forces. From Huffington Post:

About 35 foreigners–including journalists and politicians–have been holed up inside Tripoli’s Rixos hotel and barred from leaving for the past five days.

On Wednesday, one of the journalists, the BBC’s Matthew Price, spoke to the “Today” program’s Evan Davis on Radio 4. “This is day five now of what you may be able to call the siege of the Rixos hotel,” he said. “It’s a desperate situation.” Price said things had “deteriorated massively overnight” after it became clear that the guards and pro-Gaddafi soldiers who are keeping the journalists inside the hotel were not going to let them leave. He described “gunmen roaming around the corridors” and “snipers on the roof” and reported that a cameraman for British network ITN had had an AK47 pulled on him when he attempted to leave the building.

He also said that food and water were both running out.  (BBC report:  Low Audio Quality)

One day prior to the assault on Tripoli by rebel forces, aided by Gaddafi’s own security team and militia, the same militia Franklin Lamb said was prepared to “fight to the death” for Gaddafi, a series of documents were delivered to the NTC (National Transitional Council).

These documents outlined payments made to journalists and other purported “activists” who were actually paid agents of Colonel Gaddafi, rewriting his press releases and passing them on as “journalism.”  The documents show payments, some made to “charitable organizations” and other front groups of up to $15,000 per day.

These “journalists,” including many bloggers of the “alternative media” in the United States, were sent “talking points.”  These were the themes that were to be repeated:

  • “Rebel forces” were, in actuality, “Al Qaeda” cells.  This outlandish fabrication is one of the clearest signs differentiating honest reporting errors and paid disinformation and propaganda.

  • Rebels forming a “Central Bank.”  This is another fairy story, an imaginary “Jewish plot” by the Rothschilds, oddly in real life close friends of the Gaddafi family, part of secret plan to rob Libya of any funds not already looted by Gaddafi and his brood.

  • Rebels are all “CIA trained” (and Al Qaeda too…as this contradictory claims often are made by the same sources).  If anything, the seesaw aspect of these last few days demonstrate one thing above all, rebel forces are neither trained by anyone nor seemingly armed either, as the primary target of their “looting” has been small arms and ammunition, something a CIA trained army is unlikely to lack.

  • Rebel leaders had announced plans to “recognize the State of Israel.”  This one was debunked early on but got big play for a week or two.

  • Rebels are under the control of western oil companies.  The facts, of course are different.  Oil production in Libya was turned over to Haliburton and affiliates years ago as part of a deal cut with Bush with BP and British arms companies such as BAE getting massive contracts from Gaddafi who agreed to join the Bush/Blair “War on Terror” as a full partner.  300 American companies in varying aspects of oil and gas were brought into Libya years ago, all affiliated with Bush and the GOP.

  • NATO attacks exclusively target civilians including Libya’s new water project, particularly the “Brega” concrete pipe plant.  (Gaddafi’s video below)  The truth, the project itself was never attacked although one portion of a pipe plant reported to be storing missiles was damaged as video shows.  However, when Gaddafi showed up with dozens of unscathed new GRAD rocket launchers and began firing SCUD missiles at Libyan cities after weeks of NATO air attacks aided by advanced satellite reconnaissance,  the idea that Gaddafi may have been hiding advanced weapons in “high value propaganda targets” became more than a “good guess.”

  • YouTube – Veterans Today –

  • Demonstrations in Tripoli, attended by tens of thousands, were reported to be “spontaneous” and “voluntary” by Gaddafi “mouth pieces.”  Reports received from Tripoli, real people not staying in 5 star hotels, differ.  They told of buses arriving at schools and factories, people taken to demonstrations at gun point, of threats made against families and those who refused being executed and having family members murdered.  These false reports are, perhaps, the most heinous made, demonstrating full complicity and collusion in very real crimes against humanity.  Why has Gaddafi fled a city with 2 million “supporters” based on an “invasion” by a few dozen “Al Qaeda” rebels?

  • Attacking the story of Israeli mercenaries, hired from across Africa, a story broken by Haaretz, a Tel Aviv news service, fighting for Gaddafi, was high on the “talking point” list.  However, endless videos and photos of Gaddafi prisoners made the truth clear.  Gaddafi never got the 50,000 African mercenaries he tried to hire but he did get thousands supplied by friends in Israel.  Until NATO closed the door on this traffic, every armed thug in Africa was brought into Libya, just as Israeli papers reported.  Photos of prisoners and wounded, checks of passports, or simple observation made it obvious.  Captured prisoners were African, Chad, Cameroon or, most curious of all, Northern Nigerians from the Boko Harum terrorist group, who are, according to US source, “Al Qaeda.”

These are but a few of the wild tales and conspiracy theories flooding the internet, getting equal play on both left wing and right wing websites.  The real question is why target “alternative media” at all?  Why is it worthwhile?

The answer goes back to last year and Wikileaks.  The mainstream media, early on, bought into Julian Assange and his Wikileaks empire, or so it seemed.  Before the onset of winter, however, Assange had been exposed as having ties to, not only Israeli intelligence but was shown to be in full partnership with the New York Times and other media outlets he had sworn to oppose.  They were and had been his partners from day one, not in leaking classified information but rather in censoring information damaging to Israel and planting phony stories to create an atmosphere supporting a war on Iran and strained relations with Pakistan.

YouTube – Veterans Today –

Wikileaks and Julian Assange were also tasked with suppressing revelations about the 9/11 conspiracy, revelations that had moved from “theory” to fact.

YouTube – Veterans Today –

As 9/11 research increasingly closed in on Israel as complicit in the 9/11 attacks, it became clear that alternative media websites, known to support both 9/11 Truth and the Palestinian struggle for human rights, curiously abandoned their positions, siding instead with the mainstream media and Israel.

As with the Gaddafi issue today, Wikileaks demonstrated two positions taken by the majority of “alternative news” websites:

  • Direct control by intelligence agencies using alternative media as “controlled opposition” and

  • Media “whores” selling their “opinions” to the highest bidder

From Veterans Today, this interview with Dr. Alan Sabrosky on Israel’s role in 9/11:

YouTube – Veterans Today –

Wikileaks has built the alternative media into a force.  When conflicting conspiracies regarding Assange and Israel became major news, restrictions on such reporting, long dubbed “third rail issues, the death of any career as Helen Thomas can testify to, pushed mainstream media to the side.

With the alternative media, in some ways a collection of “larger than life” characters, believed by many to risk their lives, subject to assassination attempts and endless “black helicopter” government conspiracies, how did it go wrong?  How many “heroic defenders of journalistic freedom” are, in fact, highly paid “gatekeepers” of the controlled opposition.

[Editor Note: The post ops analysis of the media shilling on the Libyan Revolution will be providing VT many teaching opportunities for exposing who was who. The phonies lay back in the weeds in their chosen ideological target nests, sticking to their audience tested material to build readership. The Left has their ‘progressive’ smokescreen, and the Right has their ‘defending our culture against those that hate it’ silliness.

As live street interviews are pouring in from the Tripoli people, their intense joy of finally being free after 42 years. The most memorable was the young lady who was saying that if she died the next day after Gaddafi is captured she would still be happy to have lived one day of freedom.

To all the progressives out there that shilled for Gadaffi, especially the ones who got paid for it….eternal shame on you. We are coming for you…VT and the free Libyan people who will have something to say about your horrific conduct. They may be calling for no retribution in Libya, but I have not signed on. It’s time to begin the hunt for those that were working undercover…so they are not allowed to just moved on to the next game.  Jim W. Dean, editor]

The KGB (Kickbacks, Gratuity, Bribes) – alive and well in Washington DC

by Ed Mattson

Vacation in America…It is a time to be with family for rest and reflection. Late last week my wife, son, and I headed off from our home in North Carolina, to spend a few days at the beach in Destin, Florida, a place I use to live back when I wore a younger man’s shoes. I knew even before we started out that it would not be a pleasant 11- hour road trip as the A/C compressor had crashed and burned a couple days before our big trip. With prevailing local temperatures at about a 100°F, and driving into a much more humid 100+°F, this was going to be a challenge.

10 of the “Gang of 12” need to be sent home. They have nearly 200 years in Congress amongst them

As we started out, I began thinking about the days before auto air conditioning traveling from the West Coast to the Midwest on the family vacation, a water bag hanging on the front bumper and renting a window evaporative cooler needed to cross the desert…mom, dad, and four brats in the backseat without seatbelts.  By the time we got to Atlanta, I would have given my left arm for the relief of that evaporative cooler as we hit 102°F.

My wife, being from Eastern Europe, got a firsthand experience of what life was like in American back in simpler times. Since her arrival in the US, she has traveled across this country the last five years with me speaking to service organizations from coast to coast covering 43 states (more than 250,000 miles all told), all in air conditioned comfort, so I knew this trip would be an eye-opener. In the US we have always had the freedom to travel, an experience most in the Soviet Union never had. To make the best of a not so pleasant, sweat-filled situation, I told her “this trip would show her the way it used to be”. With the windows wide open we launched down the highway but couldn’t hear a thing on the radio. All we could do was talk, and talked we did, while our son sat in the back hammering away on his laptop computer.

Unlike a lot of folks we know, my wife plays a very active role in my consulting business and we always spend a lot of time talking about the articles I write. She’s never had the freedom to be entrepreneurial, and most of her life, thoughts were pretty much kept in one’s own mind and not openly expressed, so she relishes the experiences we have just being “American”. With 22 hours of “butt-time” cruising down the highway, I think we talked ourselves out for the next couple of weeks, while digesting enough thought to write about the most interesting of our conversations for you today.

Veterans Today is a great platform for information on  military and veterans affairs, including the politics behind the decisions being made in Washington DC that can alter life as we know it today. Reading articles posted on Veterans Today you can get a cross-section of opinions and stories expressing thoughts about everything the mind can conjure up weighing from the serious to the preposterous, and from the comical to the tragic…it is allAmericana. Let me share some of those thoughts with you…

I don’t see America as one big government conspiracy after another; don’t believe that capitalism is a bad word; or that the entire world is controlled by less than 15 million Jews (5.2 million living in the US, 5.70 million living in Israel). I do believe in natural climate change but that there is NOTHING we lowly citizens of the world can do about it. Those who want to “fight global warming” are free to their beliefs, but please don’t waste my time or obstruct my ability to make a living with childish and stupid regulations on such foolishness. I say to those folks…a simple volcanic eruption puts out more pollutants than all the cars in the world combined (There are 50-60 active volcanoes worldwide with serious eruptions occurring 20-30 times a year), so to have any effect on climate change, you’d better find a way to put a cork in all the volcanoes, and leave my damned light bulbs alone!

My wife’s observations during our venturesome, sweat-drenched road trip really got me thinking about all the REAL trouble we have in this great country, not the phony-baloney, trumped-up pseudo-problems, charlatans like Al Gore are using to make millions off a duped public with his “global warming theories”. The comments I get regarding my articles are great conversation pieces and lead to many discussions that may not seem significant to some, but in reality, can trigger serious debate when looking at the whole picture and America’s presumptive leadership role.

America is the greatest country on earth and no other country even comes close. Drive down almost any secondary highway in America (US 231, US 331, US 90, US 98). These roadways are world-class by anyone’s standards. Even state and county roadways are far above what other countries call highways. They are truly endeavors and a tribute to American ingenuity. Our agricultural productivity is probably the last bastion of anything resembling “our once great manufacturing base”, which has long been shipped off to countries like Bangladesh, Indonesia, China, South Korea, and elsewhere. When you’re out in fly-over country you will see crops of every kind growing in abundance like nowhere else. Everything life offers here is often considered “allowable” in many countries, and “restricted” in many others…the thousands of small businesses grinding out a living along every highway, street and road, living in a free society and fending for themselves without government hand-outs…pure Americana

No, our problems are not  most Americans or with the America so many have fought and died to give to us; it is with the den of thieves, vipers, connivers, crooks, and hangers-on that populate Washington DC. From lobbyists to legislators on both sides of the aisle who have hung around for more far too long, and from the Kickbacks, Graft, and Bribes (THE KGB), which have come to represent “influence” among the politicos. Like the election in 2010, we need to cull the herd again in 2012, then again in 2014, and again in 2016, to rid government of the KGB plague that permeates Washington.

Friday I wrote briefly at what I believe will tragically be a comedy that comes out of the “Gang of Twelve” super budget deficit committee. We citizens are constantly being subjected to the idiocy of those in Washington forming groups or committees, at great expense, to find solutions that most morons can find faster, easier, and less expensive without being subjected to KICKBACKS, BRIBES, and GRATUITIES – THE KGB.

My friends, the actions of our Legislators, from the President on down, are simply corruption, with arrogant attitudes that are no longer even in doubt. has brought to light this blatant attempt to BRIBE our legislators with GRATUITY (i.e. campaign largess) into doing their bidding. Today, the “Gang of Twelve” legislators on both sides of the aisles are getting their pockets lined by those currying political favor at  taxpayer’s expense. Congress had two years to vote on a reasonable budget but were so hell-bent on loading-on record-setting pork and free government handouts, they never got around to it. Now these same Bozos are asked to “fix the problem”…give us a break!

Aug. 15, 2011 MapLight conducted an analysis of campaign contributions to the 12 members of Congress appointed to the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction. The members of the so-called “Super Committee” (the “Gang of Twelve”) are Sens. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.), Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.), Rob Portman (R-Ohio), Patty Murray(D-Wash.), John Kerry (D-Mass.), and Max Baucus (D-Mont.) and Reps. Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas), Fred Upton (R-Mich.), Dave Camp (R-Mich.), Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.), and Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.).

Top 10 Industry Contributors to Super Committee Members:

  • Lawyers/Law Firms $31,529,149

  • Securities & Investment $11,221,416

  • Democratic/Liberal $9,647,264

Top 10 Organization Contributors (PACs and Employees) to Super Committee Members:

(Organizations Totals)

  • Club for Growth $1,008,884 (The Club promotes a High Growth Economy through Limited Government and Economic Freedom)

  • University of California $629,495 (School tuition too high for your family? They seem to have enough money to give away to the politicians!)

  • Goldman Sachs $592,684 (Big Wall Street insider with favorable treatment from Dems and Republicans)

  • EMILY’s List $594,883 (Pro abortion female candidate support group)

  • Citigroup Inc. $561,081 (received $20 billion from TARP)

  • JPMorgan Chase & Co. $494,316 (received $25 billion from TARP now ready to spend $138 million on new corporate jets)

  • Bank of America $349,566 (Got TARP money and now laying off thousands…thanks!)

  • Skadden, Arps, et al. $347,356 (big spending lobbyists)

  • General Electric$340,935 (now shipping jobs to China to compete with US Company Boeing…thank you Jeffrey Immelt)

Folks, when I said in my article Friday that this Gang of Twelve’s action should be comical to watch, I said that in jest. Allowing this whole charade to go on is criminal at best with open collusion, and bribery right before our very eyes. It is only right we prepare “Wanted Posters” for everyone who participates, but most importantly for those who have been in office for more than eight years. They have long out-lived their usefulness, and need to go. Remember…we deserve the kind of government we elect. The only two members of this group that deserve a pass are the two newest ones on the committee, Bob Portman and Bob Toomey, who were just elected in 2010

Obama’s Wars on Humanity

by Stephen Lendman

America’s a poster child failed state, defined in a recent article as follows:

(1) An inability or unwillingness to protect its citizens from violence and other forms of harm.

(2) Its abrogation of rule of law standards.

(3) Its lawless belligerent pursuits.

(4) If nominal democracies, its policy deficiencies, exposing a serious democratic deficit.

Ignoring social and other homeland needs, America’s business is war, more war, imperial wars, defiantly heading the nation toward tyranny and ruin because of an addiction it can’t or won’t quit.

Immanuel Wallerstein believes America’s been “a fading global power since the 1970s, and the US response to the (9/11) terrorist attacks has accelerated this decline….the economic, political and military factors that contributed to US hegemony are the same factors that will inexorably produce the coming US decline.”

In other words, destructive policies aren’t sustainable. Sooner or later, disruptive change will end Washington’s dominance, hastened by multiple imperial wars. Whatever’s coming isn’t known, but America’s system won’t survive because unsustainable ones can’t endure.

It’s not a matter of if but when, how chaotic, disruptive, and/or violent. What’s happening in Libya and elsewhere belligerently will end America’s dominance other ways, perhaps by bankruptcy, ruin, or being shunned as a global pariah. It’s no exaggeration saying nations that live by the sword die by it one way or other.

On August 15, Wallerstein addressed “The World Consequences of US Decline,” saying:

“A decade ago….condescending smiles” greeted his view about America’s declining “world-system.” Today, however, believing “the United States has declined, has seriously declined, is a banality. Everyone is saying it,” except a few diehard politicians unwilling to face reality.

What’s not discussed are the consequences. Wallerstein cites “economic roots” very much related to out-of-control military ones he doesn’t address, instead focusing on “loss of a quasi-monopoly of geopolitical power.” Its waning “has major political consequences everywhere.”

Peruvian economist Oscar Ugarteche called America a “banana republic” because it chose “the policy of the ostrich, hoping thereby not to scare away hopes (for improvement).”

Wallerstein mentioned a recent South American finance ministers meeting, “discussing urgently how best to insulate (themselves) from the effects of US economic decline.”

It’s not easy because the dominant world economy affects others for better or worse. Blame America’s duopoly, compounding bad policies with destructive ones, especially an addiction to war, multiple ones for global dominance that sooner or later will doom it.

Things economic, military and political are interrelated. Together they made America “one of the least stable political entities in the world-system. This makes the United States not only a country whose political struggles are dysfunctional, but one unable to wield much real power on the world scene,” yet belligerently tries to do it.

As a result, Wallerstein believes it’s essential over the next two or three decades “to create a better world-system than the one” we’re now stuck with, provided humanity survives long enough to do it.

America’s Libya war is symptomatic. Aside from its resources and material wealth, demographically its size is less than metropolitan Chicago, considerably less, in fact.

As a result, it should have been a military walkover but wasn’t and may not be now, given mass Libyan resistance to imperial control.

Moreover, why attack at all when other ways achieve geopolitical objectives according to law, without unaffordable expense, as well as not alienating other nations in the process, notably China, Russia, perhaps Brazil, India and others.

As a result, increasingly Washington is seen as an out-of-control menace. Some nations may wonder if they’re next. Americans should ask why their needs are neglected, and people everywhere should demand protection against rogue force this destructive, flexing its muscle because it can.

In his book Rogue State, William Blum estimated America tried to overthrow at least 40 foreign regimes since 1945. It also exhibits another rogue characteristic, having the word’s most destructive arsenal, including various type WMDs, besides a military establishment dwarfing all others, and an out-of-control addiction to use it.

It’s also an outlaw state, trashing international law, global treaties and conventions. Choosing military solutions often as a first option, it exhibits classic sociopathic or psychotic symptoms, unable to engage other nations constructively, notably ones it doesn’t control.

As a result, it doesn’t negotiate. It demands, and when checked responds belligerently like a street bully, picking easy targets of lesser size, strength and ability to strike back.

America is a global bully, a rogue state marauder, terrorizing humanity because it can, waging permanent wars in lieu of other ways.

Imagine, America’s been at war with North Korea since June 1950. The July 1953 armistice ended hostilities, leaving a cold unresolved standoff.

Moreover, a cold war raged with Cuba for over 50 years, interrupted briefly by the failed April 1961 Bay of Pigs failure to oust Castro. He’s 85 years old and still around, a legend in his own time, surviving everything America threw at him short of war.

As a result, he’s an inspiration for other leaders to go their own way like he did even though some tried and failed.

He also deplores America’s imperial wars, very much subscribing to the maxim that there never was a good war or bad peace. America’s opposite predilection is ruinous.

Yet policy makers don’t envision or alarm themselves about pursuing unsustainable destructive policies, highlighted by attacking Libya, a small nonbelligerent state, threatening no other, eager to get along.

The injustice is glaring, especially since NATO doesn’t plan liberating Libyans. Persecution and exploitation are coming if killing and destruction end successfully, what Libyans can’t ever stop contesting to be free.

On August 17, the London Guardian quoted former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev saying:

“Stop the bombing. Stop the killing. Stop the destruction. It’s degenerated into killing people and destruction, and I think this is really defiance. It’s defiant behavior.”

Let’s go to the United Nations and discuss whether the current policy is acceptable. I say no. Poor democracy. Under the flag of democracy all kinds of things are done.”

Often, it’s lawless, ruinous, lethal, roguish, and through the barrel of a gun, not good faith efforts for peace, social justice, good will and fairness.

A Final Comment

Libya’s conflict is far from over. Webster Tarpley calls events playing out “a carefully cynically planned military operation by the NATO high command, the US playing a very important role in it.” In fact, it’s the lead role in all NATO wars. Washington doesn’t take orders. It gives them.

At issue now is mid-September when the UN resolution authorizing continuing operations runs out. Without it, junior partner nations will have a hard time participating. As a result, “there’s a hysterical attempt by NATO to put an end to this.”

It’s why they’re “carpet bombing civilians with no concern about casualties,” just a rage to get it over with, including with Apache helicopters, machine-gunning civilians in streets.

At the same time, a humanitarian crisis is developing, one of many atrocities airbrushed from major media reports.

Post-mid-September, Tarpley sees continued conflict under occupation if NATO prevails. Gaddafi’s social and broader agenda was considered “an ideological threat” to be removed.

Notably, America’s Marines’ Hymn begins with the lines, “From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli.” If terror bombing and strafing support alone aren’t enough, perhaps America’s marines will return for the first time in over 200 years.

It’s one of many obstacles Libyans may have to contest to be free. Achieving it often extracts a great price. Hopefully, they’re up to the task for as long as it takes. The alternative is too intolerable to accept.

Rick Perry, Glenn Beck and Alan Dershowitz: Meshugener or Shmucks?

by Eileen Fleming

Mishugener is a Yiddish word meaning insane or crazy. A Schmuck is Yiddish for a self-made fool- but it also refers to male only anatomy.

Beck is a Mormon with close ties to the Tea Party and fundamentalist Christians. A fundamentalist is best understood as one who is so attached to their point of view that they have quit thinking!

Beck has been in Israel for more than a week preparing for his “Restoring Courage” rally which was attended by some of the 81 US Congressional Representatives who are in Israel on a junket paid for by the American Israel Education Foundation, an affiliate of AIPAC.

“One week before announcing his candidacy for president, Texas Governor Rick Perry led an all-day prayer rally in a stadium in Houston. Don Finto led the prayer for Israel and openly called for Israelis and all Jews to accept Jesus in order to bring “a great revival to the entire world.” [1]

Don Finto is the author of Your People Shall Be My People, which provides instructions in how to avoid overt proselytizing and emphasizes that Christian Zionists are Israel’s only friends.

True friends tell you the truth and the truth is that Christian Zionists are NO friend to the people of Israel or America!

As Mordechai Vanunu, the Whistle Blower of Israel’s WMD program explained to me in 2005:

“The time has come for the United States to see the truth of Zionism. It began as a secular nationalist movement, not a religious one. Then some Christians believed that when Israel became a nation, it was the beginning of the second coming. They are deluded if they believe peace will come through atomic weapons. Atomic weapons are holocaust weapons. Christians should be the first people against them. The Christians in America should be helping the Christians here. America needs to wake up to this fallacy that Jesus will come back by nuclear war. America needs to wake up to the fact that the Palestinian Christians here have no human rights. Aren’t Christians supposed to be concerned about other Christians? Aren’t Christians supposed to be concerned about all the poor and oppressed?” [2]

On August 22, 2011, Alan Deshowitz wrote: “Should Israel Welcome Glenn Beck’s Support?” Which was published first @

What follow his quotes are my rebuttals.

Deshowitz: “All decent people, whether on the left or the right, should support Israel’s right to exist as the democratic nation state of the Jewish people.”

All decent people, whether on the left or the right, should support Palestine’s right to exist and Israel is NOT a democracy!

In the May 28, 1993 edition of Yedioth Ahronoth, Ariel Sharon explained:

“The terms ‘democracy’ or ‘democratic’ are totally absent from the Declaration of Independence. This is not an accident. The intention of Zionism was not to bring democracy, needless to say. It was solely motivated by the creation in Eretz-Isrel of a Jewish state belonging to all the Jewish people and to the Jewish people alone. This is why any Jew of the Diaspora has the right to immigrate to Israel and to become a citizen of Israel.”

Jeff Halper, American Israeli, co-founder and coordinator of Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions and Professor of Anthropology wrote:

“An ethnocracy is the opposite of a democracy, although it might incorporate some elements of democracy such as universal citizenship and elections. It arises when one particular group-the Jews in Israel, the Russians in Russia, the Protestants in pre-1972 Northern Ireland, the whites in apartheid South Africa, the Shi’ite Muslims in Iran, the Malay in Malaysia and, if they had their way, the white Christian fundamentalists in the US-seize control of the government and armed forces in order to enforce a regime of exclusive privilege over other groups in what is in fact a multi-ethnic or multi-religious society. Ethnocracy, or ethno-nationalism, privileges ethnos over demos, whereby one’s ethnic affiliation, be it defined by race, descent, religion, language or national origin, takes precedence over citizenship in determining to whom a county actually ‘belongs.’” [3]

Deshowitz: “All decent people should support Israel’s right to defend its civilians from terrorist attacks.”

Indeed and decent people should also be able to read this chart courtesy of

Chart showing that approximately 12 times more Palestinian children have been killed than Israeli children

Deshowitz: “All reasonable people should favor a just peace that assures Israel’s ability to thrive in a dangerous neighborhood and to defend its borders.”

Israel has NO declared borders and reasonable people should also be able to read a map-but they will not find the over 500 Palestinian villages and towns that were wiped [ethnically cleansed] from the so called holy land beginning in 1948, when Israel became a State:

Dershowitz: “The Jewish state is demonized by the hard left in America, by virtually the entire left in much of Europe, and by most of the left and right in Ireland, Norway and Sweden. Its right to exist is denied by a high proportion of Arabs and Muslims, and most of the Arab and Muslim nations do not have diplomatic relations with Israel.”

President Harry Truman crossed out the word “Jewish state” on the draft of the Establishment of Israel that was cabled him and substituted the “State of Israel” before he signed onto it.

Israel’s establishment was also contingent upon upholding the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights: Read more…

Dershowitz: “In many circles, anti-Zionism easily morphs into anti-Semitism.”

According to Webster’s Dictionary a SEMITE is a member of any of a number of peoples of ancient southwestern Asia including the Akkadians, Phoenicians, Hebrews, and Arabs or a descendant of these peoples, thus Palestinians are as much a Semite as any Jew!

Dershowitz: “The general assembly of the United Nations has become the world’s new Der Sturmer, whose podium hosts, and many of whose audience members cheer, virulent anti-Semites such as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.”

In 2006, Virginia Tilley, Professor of political science wrote:

“In his October 2005 speech, Mr. Ahmadinejad never used the word ‘map’ or the term ‘wiped off.’ According to Farsi-language experts like Juan Cole and even right-wing services like MEMRI, what he actually said was ‘this regime that is occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time.’

“In this speech to an annual anti-Zionist conference, Mr. Ahmadinejad was being prophetic, not threatening. He was citing Imam Khomeini, who said this line in the 1980s-a period when Israel was actually selling arms to Iran, so apparently it was not viewed as so ghastly then.

“Mr. Ahmadinejad had just reminded his audience that the Shah’s regime, the Soviet Union, and Saddam Hussein had all seemed enormously powerful and immovable, yet the first two had vanished almost beyond recall and the third now languished in prison.

“So, too, the ‘occupying regime’ in Jerusalem would someday be gone. His message was, in essence: ‘This too shall pass.’”

Dershowitz: “One need not accept all of Beck’s positions on Israel—and I certainly do not—in order to agree with him that support of Israel is one of the great moral issues of the 21st Century.”

Indeed it is a moral issue and as Jeff Halper also explained:

“This conflict impacts the global community and especially everyone in the USA.
“Tony Blair said 70% of all the conflicts in the world can be traced back to the Israeli Palestinian conflict. If we do fix this conflict it would be a tremendous step forward in global reconciliation. This whole issue is based on Human Rights and it is a global issue requiring global intervention.

“It has been said that the Israelis do not love this land, they just want to possess it. There have been three stages to make this occupation permanent. The first was to establish the facts on the ground; the settlements. There are ½ million Israeli’s and four million Palestinians here. They have been forced into Bantustan; truncated mini states; prison states. It is apartheid and Bush and Hillary are both willing collaborators.

“In 1977, Sharon came in with a mandate, money and resources to make the Israeli presence in the West Bank irreversible. The second stage began in April 2004 when America approved the Apartheid/Convergence/Realignment Plan and eight settlement blocs. This is just like South Africa!

“The Bush Sharon letter exchange guaranteed that the USA considers the settlements non-negotiable. The Convergence Plan and The Wall create the borders and that is what defines Bantustans. Congress ratified the Bush plan and only Senator Byrd of West Virginia voted no and nine House Representatives.

“Israel has set up a matrix of control; a thick web of settlements guaranteed to make the occupation permanent by establishing facts on the ground. Israel denies there is an occupation, so everything is reduced to terrorism. It is our job to insist upon the human rights issue, for occupied people have International Law on their side.” [4]

Dershowitz: “I welcome the support of religious Christians who love Israel for religious reasons. I abhor the ignorant and misguided efforts of other Christians, such as Jimmy Carter and Desmond Tutu, who misuse their faith against the Jewish state. I hope that more Christians will follow in Beck’s footsteps and take the time to visit Israel. They will see Christianity thriving in Israel.”

In 1947, 20% of the total population of the Holy Land was Christian.

Today, less than 1.3% of the total population of that troubled piece of real estate is Christian and unless things change very soon, Holy Land churches will soon be nothing more than museums for the Christian Exodus coupled with their low birth rates may be the end of Christianity in the Holy Land.

Jimmy Carter’s Plan for Peace in the Holy Land calls for President Obama to courageously address the complex conflict with details resolved by the two sides but which follows the following framework:

1. A demilitarized Palestinian state, with Israeli forces being replaced by an international security force that will allow freedom of peaceful movement and that will respond to any violence from either side.

2. Mutually acceptable modifications, with land swaps to the 1967 border which allows Israelis in and around Jerusalem to remain, but a withdrawal of all other settlers from the West Bank.

3. A shared Jerusalem that will be the capital of both states.

4. The right of Palestinian refugees to return to the West Bank and Gaza and compensation to those with proven claims to the land.

ON April 29, 2002, South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu spoke about how “very deeply distressed” he was by what he observed in his recent visit to the Holy Land, “It reminded me so much of what happened in South Africa.”

The Nobel peace laureate saw “the humiliation of the Palestinians at checkpoints and roadblocks, suffering like us when young white police officers prevented us from moving about. Referring to Americans, he added, “People are scared in this country to say wrong is wrong because the Jewish lobby is powerful—very powerful. Well, so what? The apartheid government was very powerful, but today it no longer exists.” [5]

Dershowitz: “Consider Nelson Mandela’s alliances with some of most brutal dictatorships (Libya, Cuba, Syria) and supporters of terrorism (P.L.O., Iran) while he was engaged in his just struggle against the evils of apartheid. I do not recall the left condemning Mandela for doing what he had to do. But the same left was unforgiving in Israel when it was forced to make some strategic military deals with South Africa, while strongly opposing its apartheid policies.”

“An apartheid society is much more than just a ‘settler colony’. It involves specific forms of oppression that actively strip the original inhabitants of any rights at all, whereas civilian members of the invader caste are given all kinds of sumptuous privileges.” [6]

On May 14, 1948, The Declaration of the establishment of Israel affirmed that, “The State of Israel will be based on freedom, justice and peace as envisaged by the prophets of Israel: it will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion it will guarantee freedom of religion [and] conscience and will be faithful to the Charter of the United Nations.”

However, reality intrudes, for “The truth, which is known to all; through its army, the government of Israel practices a brutal form of Apartheid in the territory it occupies. Its army has turned every Palestinian village and town into a fenced-in, or blocked-in, detention camp.”– Shulamit Aloni, Israeli Minister of Education, quoted in Yediot Acharonot , December 20, 2006.

In 1953, South Africa’s Prime Minister Daniel Malan became the first foreign head of government to visit Israel and he returned home with the message that Israel could be a source of inspiration for white South Africans.
In 1962, South African Prime Minister Verwoerd declared that Jews “took Israel from the Arabs after the Arabs had lived there for a thousand years. In that I agree with them, Israel, like South Africa, is an apartheid state.”

On August 1, 1967, Israel enacted the Agricultural Settlement Law, which bans Israeli citizens of non-Jewish nationality- Palestinian Arabs- from working on Jewish National Fund lands, well over 80% of the land in Israel.

Knesset member Uri Avnery stated: “This law is going to expel Arab cultivators from the land that was formerly theirs and was handed over to the Jews.”

On April 4, 1969, General Moshe Dayan is quoted in the Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz telling students at Israel’s Technion Institute that “Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You don’t even know the names of these Arab villages, and I don’t blame you, because these geography books no longer exist. Not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either… There is not one single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population.”

On April 28, 1971: C. L. Sulzberger, writing in The New York Times, quoted South African Prime Minister John Vorster as saying that Israel is faced with an apartheid problem, namely how to handle its Arab inhabitants.

Sulzberger wrote: “Both South Africa and Israel are in a sense intruder states. They were built by pioneers originating abroad and settling in partially inhabited areas.”

On September 13, 1978, in Washington, D.C., The Camp David Accords were signed by Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and witnessed by President Jimmy Carter.

The Accords reaffirmed U.N. Resolutions 242 and 338, which prohibited acquisition of land by force, called for Israel’s withdrawal of military and civilian forces from the West Bank and Gaza, and prescribed “full autonomy” for the inhabitants of the territories.

Prime Minister Begin promised Carter to freeze all settlement activity during the subsequent peace talks.

Once back in Israel, however, the Israeli prime minister continued to confiscate, settle, and fortify the occupied territories.

On September 13, 1985, Rep. George Crockett (D-MI), after visiting the Israeli-occupied West Bank, compares the living conditions there with those of South African blacks and concluded that the West Bank is an instance of apartheid that no one in the U.S. is talking about.

In July 2000, President Bill Clinton convened the Camp David II Peace Summit between Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat.

Clinton—not Barak—offered Arafat the withdrawal of some 40,000 Jewish settlers, leaving more than 180,000 in 209 settlements, all of which are interconnected by roads that cover approximately 10% of the occupied land. Effectively, this divides the West Bank into at least two non-contiguous areas and multiple fragments. Palestinians would have no control over the borders around them, the air space above them, or the water reserves under them.

Barak called it a generous offer. Arafat refused to sign.

On August 31, 2001l in Durban, South Africa, up to 50,000 South Africans marched in support of the Palestinian people.

In their “Declaration by South Africans on Apartheid and the Struggle for Palestine” they proclaimed:

“We, South Africans who lived for decades under rulers with a colonial mentality, see Israeli occupation as a strange survival of colonialism in the 21st century. Only in Israel do we hear of ‘settlements’ and ‘settlers.’

“Only in Israel do soldiers and armed civilian groups take over hilltops, demolish homes, uproot trees and destroy crops, shell schools, churches and mosques, plunder water reserves, and block access to an indigenous population’s freedom of movement and right to earn a living.

“These human rights violations were unacceptable in apartheid South Africa and are an affront to us in apartheid Israel.”

October 23, 2001: Ronnie Kasrils, a Jewish Minister in the South African government, co-authored the petition “Not in My Name” which was signed by some 200 members of South Africa’s Jewish community and reads:

“It becomes difficult, from a South African perspective, not to draw parallels with the oppression expressed by Palestinians under the hand of Israel and the oppression experienced in South Africa under apartheid rule.”

Three years later, Kasrils went to the Occupied Territories and concluded:

“This is much worse than apartheid. Israeli measures, the brutality, make apartheid look like a picnic. We never had jets attacking our townships. We never had sieges that lasted month after month. We never had tanks destroying houses. We had armored vehicles and police using small arms to shoot people but not on this scale.”

American academic, Sasha Polakow-Suransky, wrote in “The Unspoken Alliance: Israel’s secret alliance with Apartheid South Africa” that Israeli officials “formally offered to sell South Africa some of the nuclear-capable Jericho missiles in its arsenal” and that PW Botha, South Africa’s defense minister asked Shimon Peres-who was then Israel’s defense minister-for nuclear warheads.

Peres offered them “in three sizes” which are understood as conventional, chemical and nuclear weapons.

The two signed a broad-ranging agreement governing military ties between the two countries that included a clause declaring that “the very existence of this agreement” was to remain secret.

On 4 June 1975, Peres and Botha met in Zurich and by then, the Jericho project had been renamed Chalet. The top-secret minutes of that meeting recorded that:

“Minister Botha expressed interest in a limited number of units of Chalet subject to the correct payload being available…Minister Peres said the correct payload was available in three sizes. Minister Botha expressed his appreciation.” [7]

Botha did not go ahead with the deal because of the cost and the fact that final approval was dependent on Israel’s prime minister.

South Africa did build its own nuclear bombs and also provided much of the yellowcake uranium that Israel required to develop its nuclear arsenal.

The documents also confirmed that former South African naval commander, Dieter Gerhardt admitted there was an agreement between Israel and South Africa called “Chalet” that involved an offer by Israel to arm eight Jericho missiles with “special warheads” understood as atomic bombs.

“Some weeks before Peres made his offer of nuclear warheads to Botha, the two defense ministers signed a covert agreement governing the military alliance known as Secment. It was so secret that it included a denial of its own existence: ‘It is hereby expressly agreed that the very existence of this agreement shall be secret and shall not be disclosed by either party.’”

That ‘secret’ military agreement signed by Shimon Peres and P W Botha of South Africa can be seen here:

  • Revealed: how Israel offered to sell South Africa nuclear weapons

Come this September, the U.N. General Assembly will vote on whether to recognize Palestine as an independent and sovereign state with full rights in the United Nations.

The UN was the body that carved up the so-called holy land.

Here’s hoping that come this September the UN will do justice for Palestine which requires that Israel be held accountable to its promises.

Here’s hoping that we the people of the world will never forget that all life is interconnected and that what is good for Americans is good for Israelis, Palestinians, and Everyone in the World:

The Holocaust, IsraHell’s most powerful PsyOps weapon

Take a look at the current offerings of the widely viewed and popular “History Channel” on TV, with its distorted image of American History

By Earlaiman for Veterans Today

A Message From An Old Soldier

Incredible?  Take careful note of the way in which History Channel and their producers present them, which  merely makes them all the more incredible.

Henry Makow says, “Israel’s most potent psychological weapon is the holocaust.” “The Zionist battle cry is “Never again!”

Indeed, they have created an entire “holocaust Industry” around the entire story which with proper exaggeration, embellishment, and psychological application has long ago approached the quality of major mythical proportions on the order of the David and Goliath tale.

They have erected defenses around their Holocaust Weapons Industry to protect this “weapon.”  In many parts of Europe and North America it is an imprisonable offense to criticize or deny the “facts” of the holocaust as stated by Zionist “holocaust” Industrial “scholars.”

This is apparent in their renewed propaganda efforts, via their overwhelming influence in the “News and Infotainment industry” particularly in the North American TV and Film industries.

Take a look at the current offerings of the widely viewed and popular “History Channel” on TV, with its distorted image of American History.

Visit once more the The Red-White and Blue Flag-Waving Glory of the Revolutionary War and The Civil War, wars as gory and brutal as wars can get, both exploitations of the American man and common soldier sent to kill and die for the enrichment of their landlords and masters who convened in Washington, Philadelphia, Montgomery, Richmond and New York to steal land, resources and commerce from the Kings and masters, and set themselves up in the boardrooms. Fought for, and excused in ‘history” as a grand emancipation of slavery in the United States!

Highly successful… and who won?  Amos and Andy?  They all got new masters.

Or consider the recently released “Lost Films of World War II”  which is currently their most recent glorification of war in general, and WWII, the Great War Against Fascism which showcases, entirely out of demographic and representative proportions, the “struggle, and sacrifice” of the Jews and the “incredible” horrors of the “holocaust.”

Incredible?  Take careful note of the way in which History Channel and their producers present them, which  merely makes them all the more incredible.

I recently viewed the story being aired, of a young Lieutenant, or perhaps a Captain, who upon landing in North Africa suddenly found his company bogged down and slowed in its advance by a group of German soldiers who had surrendered to him, – the prisoners of war, for that was who they now were,  were apparently docile and weaponless, so he decided to send them “to the rear” under the guard of one solitary soldier with a single M-1 rifle, while he and the rest of his company pressed onward.

Shortly after the soldier and the prisoners march off, gunshots are heard.

The soldier returns, alone, and rejoins the company.

The Captain appears, and relates,

”I suddenly realized what he had done…he had taken the prisoners off and shot them all!  I was so outraged that my hand went to my pistol…  I wanted to shoot him!  But, one of my men restrained me.  ‘Sir, you do not know this,’ he said, but he is a Jew… and the Nazis killed his entire family.’ What could I do?  Send him back to HQ under arrest?  My orders were to push on in pursuit of the Germans, and I needed every man I had, so I pushed on!”

Wow, dramatic!  Reminiscent of those old “B” movies made by Warner brothers, which starred other Great American Heroes of the Wars, John Wayne and Ronald Reagan.

Let us stop and consider a few time-related facts;

At the time this North African atrocity purportedly happened, “the holocaust” was as yet unknown.  It did not become a popular theme until Elie Wiesel invented and popularized it years later, after the war was over.  At the time of this incident in North Africa, every Officer and every man in the company would have known who was a “Jew boy” in the unit, and who wasn’t.  It wouldn’t have mattered or made much difference to very many of them, but every GI and Officer they would have known!

It was a fact of the times, that Jews stood out, and many of them were regarded, and derided, and heckled, and hazed, persecuted, and yes, discriminated against as “Jew boys.” And frankly, no one, or very few other than Jews, were very interested at all in what was happening to European Jews among all those others who were held and worked to death in those German Forced Labor Camps.  Not until, that is, Elie Wiesel took over, rewrote the Jewish version of the History of WWII and invented the “holocaust” Industry, an effective and well-chosen but deliberately inaccurate and misleading name for his game.

I am sure that US and other soldiers on many occasions, took prisoners of war around behind the bushes, out of sight of their superiors and, with or without their superiors knowledge, concurrence or tolerance, simply shot them dead rather than be bothered with watching and caring for them.  After all, they were “the enemy,” eh?  And, we were trained and indoctrinated to”kill the enemy.”

It was right there in North Africa at that same time that General George Patton made his famous remark to those very same troops about killing enemies… making them die for their countries!.

But, I am equally sure that this episode did not happen as it is presented and that the writer is not a very good writer, nor are the actors more than sorry amateurs, probably even real people representing themselves, once soldiers, once again “serving their country…” but not doing a very convincing or persuasive job at reading script.

No one could do that better than Ronnie Reagan, not even the Great John Wayne!

Speaking of the Warner brothers, there is the “Lost Films” episode of Jack Werner (no relation, other than ethnic) who as a young man escaped the Nazi pogroms of Austria and the holocaust by fleeing to America, in 1939 and joining the US Army, where he almost single-handedly, as the History Channel would have you infer, liberated Attu Island, from the Japanese.

I am sure Jack Werner served courageously and honourably in the US Army during the war… as did many others.  And, I am equally sure he believed in what he was doing, fighting a true enemy and a threat to Freedom and Liberty.  We all believed!

But, the story has been, as History Channel describes the films were, resurrected, renovated and restored, using modern techniques to highlight, clarify and improve the color and presentability of the films.

It is rewritten, and with “improved” or elaborated history.  Better and truer fact than it ever was?  And, the Jewish  participation and contribution, as important, valuable and commendable as it was, is exaggerated far beyond the proportion of their actual representation and efforts, as were the “horrors” of the holocaust, as bad as they were.  They were, indeed, a war crime, bordering on genocide, if you insist, but a “holocaust?” Spare me!  This is good fiction, but it certainly isn’t good History!

And, as such, I do not find it entertaining!

Jack Werner was and is a good man, I am sure, but he was not the entire battalion who landed on Attu or Kwajalein.

The dramatic tension, spirit of sacrifice, the suffering the persecution and horrors of the “holocaust” are all there, presented in the same incompetent, sophomoronic and banal writing, bad stagecraft, and amateurish propaganda techniques which Warner Brothers presented all those glorious and fun movies of the “B” rating era when they cranked out one mediocre production per week to reel the public into the cinemas with bad drama, badly presented in bad movies.

The resurrection of these crude techniques along with phony story-lines is an insult to the intelligence of any modern thinking man who should know better, but I am sure that Joe and Jenny Sixpack are glued to their Telly screens every evening as closely and avidly as their mothers and fathers, grandmothers and fathers religiously went to the cinema every Friday evening or Saturday matinee to see and enjoy the weekly “B” rated drama of John Wayne saving the world from the evil Hun or the Jap, and Ronnie Reagan saving the homesteader or the virtuous saloon whore from the evil rancher or the town banker.

How well I remember the scene of John Wayne cradling a .50 cal M-2 Field Machine gun on his hip and shooting down a diving Jap Zero!  Remarkable!  Hard enough to hit one of those fast flying things with a mounted .50 cal MG.

Anyone who has ever fired one of those highly effective and very mature weapons must have surely had a good laugh on that one!

Great drama. Don’t miss it.

But, the monolithic structure  of the ‘Holocaust “ memorial is in deep trouble and danger if this

Is what the ADL and the Zionist propaganda support forces have been forced to resort to in an attempt to resurrect the slowly dying and rotting corpse of the “holocaust Industry”

We just don’t have the time to deal much longer with a mob of insane and power crazed ethnics who pretend they are living in a world three millennia ago, and act like it.

They are all marching to a Tin Drum!

I remember in 1945 and ’46 when the breaking news of the Liberation of Europe was full of the “Concentration Camps,” and the photos of the prisoners, skinny, undernourished guys with jutting bones.  It was some time before if became obvious that these were death camps, and used for “massive executions.”

I never believed it then, and reading these first hand accents does not convince me today that it ever happened.

I could write better fiction than this when I was six years old and was not sure what a comma was. But, I am also not Jewish, do not think like one, and still do not understand how anyone can believe this shit!

Yes, I believe it “could have happened,” because I have seen credible photos and read of Israelis who have been doing the same kind of things for sixty years.  And, I am sure that there were some incredible murderers in the SS, and in charge of those German labor camps.   But I just don’t believer they were camps maintained just to kill people, and I don’t believer that there were gas chambers and “ovens” in which people were executed.

Given the health and living conditions in those camps, and in Germany as a whole toward the end of the war, I suspect that there were a number of crematoriums designed and built just to take care of disposing of the bodies from abnormally high death rates…. after all, the Americans and the British had bombed them all pretty well into starvation.

I guess all of the above makes me a “denier,” and in violation of a lot of laws in many Civilized countries.  Perhaps I should go and turn myself in as a threat to peace, lest I forget and allow it to happen again?

If it does “happen again,” can I say that I just hope that they get it right the next time?
