BREAKING: US, UK and France strike Syria

[Editor’s note: Well, it’s started, Trump has done as his masters wished and struck Syria, the British and French have joined in, like the obedient vassals they are.

We will try to keep updating with more reports as we can get them. Ian]

Defense Sec confirms air strikes against alleged Syrian chemical weapons facilities

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:45 A.M.) – The U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis confirmed the U.S.’ attack on Syria during a press conference in Washington.

Secretary of Defense: “Earlier today, President [Donald] Trump directed the US military to conduct operations in consonance with our allies to destroy the Syrian regime’s chemical weapons research, development and production capability. Tonight, France, the United Kingdom and the United States took decisive action to strike the Syrian chemical weapons infrastructure. Clearly, the Assad regime did not get the message last year. This time our allies and us have struck harder. Together we have sent a clear message to Assad and his murderous lieutenants that they should not perpetrate another chemical weapons attack for which they will be held accountable.”

SOT, Jim Mattis, Secretary of Defense: “I want to emphasise that these strikes are directed at the Syrian regime. In conducting these strikes we have gone to great lengths to avoid civilian and foreign casualties.”

Syrian military identifies three sites targeted by US Coalition

BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:40 A.M.) – The Syrian military reported of three sites that the U.S. and their allies targeted in Syria during this morning’s attack.

According to the Syrian military, the U.S., France, and the U.K. reportedly struck the Brigade 105 base, Dumayr Airbase, and Barzeh in the Damascus countryside.

Several other locations were reported in the nearby Homs Governorate; however, these reports are still unverified at the moment.

US Coalition attack on Syria appears to be over

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:20 A.M.) – The U.S. Coalition’s attack on Syria appears to have concluded after more than an hour of nonstop cruise missiles on the Syrian capital and its surrounding areas.

As of now, it appears the U.S.’ primary targets were the West Ghouta (Kesweh, Jamraya) and the eastern Qalamoun bases.

Many reports claiming the U.S. Coalition attacked Aleppo, Hama, Al-Sweida, and Latakia appear false at this time, as sources in these provinces reported no activity.

No civilian or military casualties have been reported.

Syrian Air Defense downs cruise missile in east Damascus

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:00 A.M) – An Al-Masdar field correspondent in west Damascus has captured footage of the Syrian Air Defense downing a U.S. cruise missile over rural Damascus at 4:45 A.M. (Damascus Time) this morning.

As shown in the video below, the Syrian Air Defense managed to intercept the missile in the direction of the Dumayr Military Airport, which is in eastern Damascus.

US Coalition cruise missiles now raining down over several areas in Syria

BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:20 A.M.) – The U.S. Coalition has expanded their strikes over Syria this morning, striking a number of locations near the Syrian capital of Damascus.

According to Al-Masdar’s field correspondent in Damascus, the U.S. Coalition just struck Jaramana, Barzeh, Dumayr, and several sites in rural Damascus.

Al-Masdar’s correspondent added that the cruise missiles are raining nonstop over the Damascus countryside, with some reports of attacks in the western province of Tartous.

Joint US, France, UK attack launched on Syria on rural Damascus

BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:10 A.M.) – Minutes ago, the U.S., France, and the U.K. launched a barrage of cruise missiles towards rural Damascus, causing massive explosions near the Dumayr Airbase in the eastern Qalamoun.

While the site is still unknown, Al-Masdar’s field correspondent in Damascus reported that the strike is hitting the rural Damascus countryside near or possibly the Dumayr Airbase.

The Dumayr Airbase is the military installation the Syrian Air Force used to launch airstrikes on the East Ghouta during Operation Damascus Steel.

The Syrian Air Defense has responded in a bid to down the cruise missiles; however, many cruise missiles have already struck the area.

Al-Masdar previously reported that the Dumayr Airbase was the likely target because the airstrikes on the East Ghouta were launched from this site.

State Department Aware of Claims US, UK Supplied Toxins to Syria

The US Department of State is aware of reports about toxic agents used in Syria, a department official told Sputnik on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad earlier in the day accused US and UK-based companies of supplying toxic agents to terrorists, adding that CS and CN substances, allegedly produced by NonLethal Technologies and Chemring Defence, were found in Aleppo and Damascus.

“We have seen these reports. Let’s be clear, we have long expressed our strong condemnation of the use of chemical weapons. [Its] use by any party in Syria would violate international standards and norms,” the official said.

The official provided no additional comments on the companies, but reiterated the US position that the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad was responsible in previous instances of chemical weapons use.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the fact that the United States and the United Kingdom could have supplied toxic agents to militants in Syria is beyond understanding.”The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons said in June that its fact-finding mission confirmed that man-made chemical sarin, a gas used as a chemical weapon, was used in an attack on Khan Shaikhoun in Idlib in early April, but did not determine who was responsible.

The US-backed militias blamed the use of chemical weapons on the Syrian government, despite Syrian President Assad told Sputnik following the attack in April that there was no chemical weapons  in Idlib.

Vicious Circle: How to Prevent ‘Guam Missile Crisis’ Between US, N Korea

It is time for Washington and Pyongyang to meet at the negotiating table, Russian academic Evgeny Kim told Radio Sputnik, adding that the US should lend an ear to Moscow and Beijing’s proposal to stop both North Korean missile tests and US-South Korean military drills in the region.

Washington’s unwillingness to hold a dialogue on the Korean crisis with Pyongyang is adding fuel to the fire in the region, Evgeny Kim, a senior fellow at the Center for Korean Studies of the Institute of Far Eastern Studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences, toldRadio Sputnik.

“Americans are adding fuel to the fire. Why did they bring strategic bombers to the Guam [military] base and conduct training bombings? The North [North Korea] is ready for negotiations,” Kim emphasized.

Tensions continue to escalate on the Korean Peninsula with the US leadership signaling “military solutions are now fully in place.”

“Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely.  Hopefully, Kim Jong Un will find another path!”  US President Donald Trump tweeted Friday.

Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely. Hopefully Kim Jong Un will find another path!

On August 8, a US Pacific Air Forces website reported that two US Air Force B-1B bombers joined their counterparts from the Republic of Korea and Japanese air forces in bilateral missions.”Two US Air Force B-1B Lancers assigned to the 37th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron, deployed from Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, flew from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, for a 10-hour mission, flying in the vicinity of Kyushu, Japan, the East China Sea, and the Korean peninsula, August 7, 2017 (HST),” the report said.

Earlier this summer, Moscow and Beijing issued a joint statement offering ways to de-escalate the situation. Russia and China have repeatedly called upon Pyongyang to stop nuclear tests at the same time urging Washington and Seoul to refrain from conducting joint drills.

However, the vicious cycle of the US and North Korea’s mutual threats has yet to be broken.

Earlier this week North Korea’s military announced that it was considering a missile attack near the US territory of Guam in response to Trump threatening Pyongyang with “fire and fury.”

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Thursday that by mid-August Pyongyang will have a plan to launch four intermediate-range missiles at the US territory of Guam, where American military bases are located.

“The Hwasong-12 rockets to be launched by the KPA [Korean People’s Army] will cross the sky above Shimane, Hiroshima and Koichi Prefectures of Japan,” General Kim Rak-gyom, who commands the Korean People’s Army’s Strategic Force, stated as quoted by the media outlet.

Local news reported Friday that Japan is allegedly mulling over the deployment of Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) surface-to-air anti-missile systems in the four prefectures over which North Korea’s ballistic missiles could potentially fly in the event of an attack on Guam. The same day a lawmaker of Russia’s upper house of parliament, Viktor Ozerov, told Sputnik that Russia had put on high alert its air defense systems in the country’s Far East due to the escalation of the Korean crisis. The information was later denied by the Sputnik source in the Eastern Military District.

“The units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Far East, including air defense battalions, are serving in normal mode. There were no orders for increased combat readiness,” the source told Sputnik.

Commenting on the issue, Kim highlighted that the time has come for the US and North Korea to meet at the negotiating table.

“Americans should probably accept a joint proposal by Russia and China that both nuclear tests of the DPRK and military exercises involving the United States from the Korean Peninsula should be suspended simultaneously. Stop it and start negotiating,” Kim stressed.

“There is but one thing to do — to hold negotiations and one should exert pressure on the Americans. By the way, in this very case, I believe we can receive some support from South Korea: its leadership also says that it is necessary that the Americans begin talks with the northerners,” the academic told Radio Sputnik.

Kim expressed his confidence that the North Koreans wouldn’t strike first.

“North Korea’s missiles won’t fly in the direction of Guam,” he said. “Most likely if something happens, US missiles will be fired. Of course, our [Russian] air defense systems could intercept them, but it is necessary to conduct a policy which would prevent such a course of events.”

US, allies sponsor Saudi Zio-Wahhabi Takfiri terrorist

Bouthaina Shaaban, political and media adviser to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad

A political and media adviser to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has accused the US and its allies of financing and arming the Saudi Zio-Wahhabi Daesh Takfiri terrorist group in a bid to tear the region apart and deplete its resources.

Bouthaina Shaaban made the remarks in a statement to journalists after meeting with visiting China’s Special Envoy for Syria Xie Xiaoyan and the accompanying delegation in Damascus on Saturday.

While the US and its allies sponsor Daesh Takfiri Saudi Zio-Wahhabi terrorist , the alliance supported by Russia and China stands against the expansion of terrorism in the Arab country, Shaaban said.

Russian and China, two of the five veto-wielding permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, have vetoed resolutions against the Syrian government that is battling foreign-sponsored terrorists since 2011.

There are UNSC resolutions, under which those responsible for committing, organizing and supporting terror acts as well as facilitating the movement of terrorists must be held accountable, but these motions have not been implemented at all, the Syrian official noted.

UNSC Resolution 2253, adopted unanimously in December 2015, covers asset freeze, travel ban, arms embargo and listing criteria for Saudi Zio-Wahhabi Daesh, al-Qaeda militants and “associated individuals, groups, undertaking and entities.”

Elsewhere in her remarks, Shaaban said that the Syrian army and its allies had recently managed to reach the Syria-Iraq border and “dealt a severe blow to the terrorists” through unified efforts, underlining the importance of strengthening communication between the two neighbors in that regard.

Washington’s agenda intersects with that of Daesh, which serves the interests of ‘Israel’, she added.

The Syrian official also denounced as unjustified the US deployment of rocket launchers to southern Syria and its attacks on the army positions.

Earlier this week, Russia said the US had deployed the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launchers from Jordan to its base in the Syrian town of At-Tanf, warning that the equipment could be used against Syrian government forces.

Additionally, on two occasions in June and May, US warplanes attacked a Syrian military position near At-Tanf, killing an unspecified number of people and causing some material damage.

The US claimed that the Syrian forces who came under the attack posed a threat to its forces in Syria.

The Syrian army denounced the assaults, saying they demonstrated US support for terrorism, at a time when the Syrian army and its allies were making gains against Daesh militants.

US, I$raHell two sides of same coin, trying to destroy Yemen

Leader of Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement, Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi, speaks during a televised speech in Sa’ada, on April 23, 2017.

Leader of Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement, Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi, says the United States and the I$raHell regime are two sides of the same coin and together they seek to destroy Yemen through a brutal military campaign launched by Saudi Arabia.

Addressing a group of Yemenis in Sa’ada, thorough a video conference, Houthi further said on Sunday that the US, I$raHell and their allies are trying to impose their values on regional nations, adding that enemies view Yemenis as a worthless tool to sustain their own interests in the region.

“Independent forces in the region from Yemen to Syria, Lebanon and Iraq are considered as rogue from the American perspective, and sympathy for the oppressed in these countries is viewed as a crime,” he said, adding that Washington is trying hard to turn regional players into its own puppets.

The Yemeni leader also noted that collusion in the atrocities committed against the Yemeni people is not an issue in the eyes of the American leaders, but when the oppressed and independent forces cooperate with each other, the US perceives it as a crime.

He called on all Yemenis to stand united against the aggressors and defend their country.

“[When] anyone says Israel is a threat to our nation, the United States and its allies say they are supporters of Iran, and with the help of this false justification, they (Washington and allies) target anyone that does not accept adopting a hostile attitude towards Iran,”  he added.

He also said the only sin committed by Iran, from the perspective of the United States, was that it freed itself from being a puppet country in the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

‘US, Israel main source of terrorism worldwide’

The Yemeni leader added that Washington considers regional or international threats all those countries that are not its ally, “but the reality is that the US and Israel are themselves the main source of terrorism worldwide.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Houthi said the Yemeni nation, from all walks of life, should boost their awareness of the realities of regional developments and use it as a tool to battle the US propaganda against the Arab country. Ignorance, he said, makes people an easy target for the US and the Zionists.

Houthi also stated that only Yemenis can decide about their future and the internal affairs of their country and that absolutely no other country or organization, even the United Nations and the Arab League, can impose their so-called solutions to the crisis in Yemen.

He described as utterly ridiculous Washington and Riyadh’s claim that they want to liberate Yemeni cities from “Yemeni occupation.”

“You are Yemenis, who have occupied the capital Sana’a? The US wants to liberate Sana’a from Yemenis?!” he asked.

Houthi reiterated that the Yemeni nation’s resistance against the Riyadh regime’s incessant attacks was deeply rooted in religious orders and was meant to safeguard national sovereignty and freedom.

Saudi Arabia launched its deadly campaign against Yemen in March 2015 to push back the Houthi Ansarullah fighters from Sana’a and to bring back to power Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, Yemen’s president who has resigned and is a staunch ally of Riyadh.

The campaign, which lacks any international mandate and has faced increasing criticism, has claimed the lives of more than 12,000 people, most of them civilians.

Certain Arab countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Qatar, are partners to the military aggression.

US, Saudi Zio-Wahhabi Ammunition Bound for Syrian Moderate Opposition Ends Up in Daesh Hands

US, Saudi Ammunition Bound for Syrian Moderate Opposition Ends Up in Daesh Hands

Ammunition supplied by the United States and Saudi Arabia to moderate Syrian opposition groups has been found in the possession of Daesh terrorist group, representatives of a UK-based organization monitoring weapons movement said.

The Conflict Armament Research (CAR) investigators work in the areas recently liberated from Daesh and its research shows that ammunition boxes left by the jihadists can be traced back to factories in Eastern Europe, the BBC reported Monday, citing CAR team leader James Bevan.

Inquiries by Bevan’s team indicated that the factory orders could be traced back to the United States and Saudi Arabia. Ammunition was then shipped to southern Turkey en route to opposition groups in northern Syria.

“Their procurement networks reach out into southern Turkey and they obviously have a series of very strong relationships with very big distributors,” Bevan told the BBC.

The ammunition then found its way into Daesh hands, eventually ending up in Iraq, where Daesh is fighting US-backed government troops. Ammunition boxes in question were found starting late 2015 in Tikrit, Ramadi, Falluja and Mosul, according to CAR.

CAR estimated that the speed of procurement was some two months between factory and the final destination in Iraq. The organization’s report has yet to be published.

Daesh, a militant jihadist organization outlawed in many countries, including the United States and Russia, took over vast swathes of Syria and Iraq in 2014 amid the ongoing Syrian civil war.

The US Train and Equip Program aimed at moderate Syrian rebels was canceled in October 2015 after a number of US-trained forces were quickly overrun by extremists while the US-provided weapons were reportedly handed over to the terrorist groups. A part of the US-trained forces defected and fought on the side of terrorists.

Both the United States and the United Kingdom have recently decided to resume training programs in Syria.
